Saturday quiz

Well, this week I again beat political journalist John Rentoul. I scored 6/10, where he managed only 3/10. I did not know the answers to questions 1, 6, 7, and 8.

As I predicted, the Rwanda “get shot of migrant-invaders” plan, absurd though it is (I can think of better ways), has cooked Labour’s goose for now, despite the cost-of-living crisis etc. For one thing, few voters have any confidence in the ability of Jew-lobby puppet Keir Starmer to reduce tax and/or retail prices.

I was always slightly mocking of Corbyn, but at least he was somewhat anti-Zionist, though —fatally— still paying lip-service to the Jewish lobby by his “me-too” behaviour in support of their “holocaust” farrago.

In the end, Corbyn was just too weak, especially in his failure to rid Labour entirely of Jewish and/or Zionist influence.

Having said that, recent by-elections prove that Labour under Starmer is appealing even less than did Corbyn to most voters. Yes, opinion polls have recently been favourable to Labour, but that can change (and already has), like the English weather.

No doubt there will be much excitement if the upcoming local elections give Labour hundreds more council seats. Almost meaningless (even if it happens). One would imagine that the pathetically-poor performance of the “Conservative” Government would wipe it out politically. That does not happen because Labour is perceived as a hypocritical and dishonest nullity.

I see no likelihood of a Starmer-led Labour victory at a general election, despite Boris-idiot leading an almost Kafka-esque “government”.

If only the Jews who came to to the UK in the 1930s and 1940s had settled in Africa, or somewhere…

Still, in that bleak phrase (which is so UK 2022), “we are where we are“…

Alison Chabloz

Blog readers will be aware that persecuted satirist and singer-songwriter Alison Chabloz was sentenced to 22 weeks of imprisonment last Thursday (14 April 2022).

The conviction and/or sentence is likely to be appealed, but for the present, Alison is in prison, notionally until the expiry of 11 weeks, i.e. 30 June 2022.

Alison’s address and Prisoner Number is now confirmed as below:

Alison Chabloz A6478EK

HMP Bronzefield,

Woodthorpe Rd,

Ashford

TW15 3JZ.

Anyone who wishes to send postcards, letters, books [new books only, softback only, preferably from online booksellers, but not from Amazon] etc, can send them to the above address.

Small sums of money can also be sent to Alison via the official government system: see https://www.gov.uk/send-prisoner-money. The date of birth of the prisoner is required; Alison’s date of birth is 4 April 1964.

Western civilization under attack

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-10722935/DOUGLAS-MURRAY-examines-Western-civilisation-achievements-erased-history.html

The war on the West: DOUGLAS MURRAY examines how Western civilisation and all its astonishing achievements in culture, science, medicine and free thinking are being erased from history as the product of ‘dead white males’.”

I have come to the conclusion that the era we live in is defined by one thing above all — a civilisational shift that is rocking the deep underpinnings of our societies because it is a war on everything in those societies.

There are many facets to this war on the West. It is carried out across the media and airwaves, and throughout the education system, from as early as preschool.

It is rife within the wider culture, where all major cultural institutions are either coming under pressure or actually volunteering to distance themselves from their own past.”

[Douglas Murray in the Daily Mail].

All very true, but what Douglas Murray fails to point out is that behind the blacks, “browns” and indeed some whites, guilty of the above stands, overall, the Jew (meaning Jewish-Zionist influence and power).

Jews (meaning certain Jews, influential Jews, not the whole 250,000+ in the UK and an even greater number in France) are behind much, arguably most, of the erosion of decent civilized behaviour in the declining Western cultures. We see it in the world of business and finance, and banking, we see it in academia and publishing; we see it in the legal professions (now pretty much taken over, certainly in the UK), and we see it, a fortiori, in the mass media and its recent development, Internet media, including social media.

Those trends are wider than simply a result of Jewish or Jewish-Zionist influence, but that influence is fundamental, and has intensified since about 1989.

Ultimately, the aim is ZOG (Zionist Occupation Government), leading across the Western world to NWO (the New World Order) via, inter alia, the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan implementation: see http://adam.curry.com/art/1543753587_mkXBrvrY.html.

Non-whites ferried and funnelled into Europe, with the idea being that, over time, they will create a brown semi-European race in Europe, to be controlled by ZOG and NWO rulers, tribes, and castes.

Ukraine

Here is how the “free”, “democratic” Ukraine of the Jew Zelensky treats those opposing, however peacefully, the Zionist Kiev-regime government: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-europe-61124291

Have you seen the Royal Navy in recent years?…

From the ethno-centric point of view, London can pretty much be written off now.

I have no idea whether there is anything in the “chemtrails” theory, but over the years I have started to wonder whether there is a programme to “sedate” the population in some way. Looking back at the 1970s, 1980s, and then looking at British people today, those around today seem almost lobotomized in some ways. The “panicdemic” police state of 2020-2021 brought that out fairly clearly.

Yes, it’s a public relations exercise, mostly, but enough to cook Labour’s goose. Obviously, I myself oppose both Con and Lab, two sides of the same System coin.

Late thought

Nothing shows up the bankruptcy of the self-describing “Left” in the UK as much as the saga of Harry and the Royal Mulatta.

The old-style socialists wanted rid of royalty; this lot (not socialists, sometimes pseudo-socialists) want Harry, aka the Royal Cuck, to be even more privileged than he already is, just because he has married a non-white or, more accurately, a half-caste.

As for the Royal Mulatta, the self-describing “Left” shriek that she is a “princess“, and so entitled to respect on that basis!

It is just like the way the self-describing “Left” looks upon Twitter etc, which they say should be allowed to censor and cancel people at will because Twitter and other such platforms are “private enterprises”…

Lenin would be rotating in his grave!

Take a look at that video. This is not “rescue”, it is a conspiracy to ferry migrant-invaders into this country. Tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of them. Google the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan if you do not already know about it.

Blair pushing for a nuclear war with Russia. He is the tool of powers of Evil (capital “E” evil).

The answer to the overall question is the Threefold Social Order: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_threefolding.

Everyone, meaning every white European UK citizen, should have the means of basic personal support, meaning shelter, food, medical/dental help, education, local transport etc. That may mean or include Basic Income provided by the State.

I understand the misgivings of those who say that Basic Income gives the State too much power over the individual, the family etc but, especially for the poorer people of Britain, the petty office bods of the State already have that kind of power. Only the affluent and wealthy really have any significant measure of “freedom” in this society.

Alison Chabloz

As I write, persecuted satirist and singer-songwriter, Alison Chabloz, is about to be sentenced for a supposed offence under the notoriously-poor Communications Act 2003, s.127. The hearing will be at Westminster Magistrates’ Court at about 1400 hrs today.

Good luck to her.

A rather rude response to ludicrous “fully-automated luxury communism” advocate Ash Sarkar, but basically true nonetheless (and it did make me laugh).

Owen Jones took it upon himself, several years ago when I still had a Twitter account (i.e. before a pack of Jews contrived to have me expelled) to tweet to disgraced sex pest —and depressive— MP, the Jew-lobby puppet John Woodcock (now posing as “Lord Walney”) that he should block me. Woodcock complied at once, with no questions asked.

Owen Jones and Woodcock/Walney are both System fakes. See also https://ianrobertmillard.org/2019/01/04/a-brief-word-about-owen-jones/; and https://ianrobertmillard.org/2021/02/09/diary-blog-9-february-2021-including-further-assessment-of-john-woodcock/; and https://ianrobertmillard.org/2017/05/04/john-woodcock-barrow-and-furness-and-the-general-election-2017/.

Even a stopped clock is right once or twice a day (depending on whether 24-hour or 12-hour). Same with Ash Sarkar and many others.

I have mentioned before on the blog that I knew someone who was able to buy the freehold of her semi-detached Victorian villa leasehold property in Little Venice (London), valued at the time (about 1980) at £100,000 (in fact she got a 33% discount, so bought it for about £67,000). When she finally sold it in 2005, that same house, in poor condition, was sold for £1.4M, if I recall aright. Somewhere around that figure, anyway. Exactly similar houses in the same street were valued at over £3.5M circa 2016, and I see today that a house in the same road, only a couple of doors down, is for sale at a lower price than that but still pretty damned expensive at £3,150,000.

90% of people who do not inherit real property or very significant other property are effectively locked out of the present UK system in terms of way of life etc. It is not even just a matter of not owning an appreciating property such as a house, but of having to pay rent to (objectively) parasites (rentier landlords), thus having less real disposable income for life. Also, insecurity of tenure.

Incidentally, I wonder whether the lower prices (as against a few years ago, pre-panicdemic), mean that plenty of house-owners in areas such as Little Venice are or have been cashing in their chips and, like rats leaving a sinking ship, departing from London? After all, £3M buys you a pretty nice country house almost anywhere in the Home Counties or shires.

Alison Chabloz: case update

It is reported that Alison Chabloz, persecuted satirist and singer-songwriter, has been sentenced to 22 weeks imprisonment by District Judge Nina Tempia, sitting at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

That means that, subject to any appeal, Alison Chabloz will have to spend the next 11 weeks in prison, unless released earlier on licence (and wearing an electronic tag). Eleven weeks from today is 30 June 2022.

Reports indicate that Alison’s trial Counsel, Adrian Davies, applied for bail pending appeal, but was refused. Such application can be renewed, with a good possibility of success, before a Crown Court judge in chambers, but I do not have any information at present as to whether Alison will in fact pursue appeal to the Crown Court.

The maximum sentence for the offence was 6 months, i.e. 26 weeks, so Alison may feel that an appeal is justified, particularly in view of the (reported but unconfirmed) fact that the Prosecution mooted 9-15 weeks (assuming, as I say, that that is correct) under the relevant sentencing guidelines.

If and when I discover Alison’s new prison number, I shall publish it (and her place and address of incarceration) on the blog, so that people can send her cards, books and (via the official system) small amounts of money. During her last “stretch”, she greatly appreciated postcards and other gifts: see https://alisonchabloz.com/2022/04/13/last-post/#more-8648.

Ha ha! Had not seen that previously. Like a civilian and “panicdemic” version of Dad’s Army.

Twitter, as I have noted before, is a very strange “business”, one that has lost literally billions since it started. In fact it has only posted profit results for 2018 and 2019; all other years since its foundation have been loss-making years, often stonkingly so:

https://www.statista.com/statistics/274563/annual-net-income-of-twitter/

Twitter and its finances are not at all transparent, despite the huge amounts written about Twitter. Look at the Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter. Lots of material but not very enlightening on finances, especially profit and loss.

A “conspiracy theory” might be to think that Twitter has some other, darker, purpose than to make money. Still, it could be true.

[Daily Mail map showing the state of play as of 12 April 2022]

The latest news is that 1,000 Ukrainian fighters have surrendered in Mariopol. Russian forces have all but taken those southern hold-out cities.

As blogged previously, the strategy now is probably to go north from the Russian-held Sea of Azov littoral, to push to and/or through Zaporozhye and Dnipro [former Dnepropetrovsk] and then north again, to meet with Russian forces pushing south/southwest from the Kharkov and Izyum areas.

As previously blogged, if the Russians can draw a line —and hold a line— approximately Kharkov-Dnipro-Zaporozhye, then all Ukrainian forces east of that line are doomed. Once that happens, attention can again turn to both Kiev and Odessa.

I have tried to cover this issue before on the blog. Not easy, mainly because earnings of barristers in private practice (i.e. not salaried employees working for government or companies) vary widely, indeed wildly. Anything from almost pennies to a million or more a year.

The general public tends to think of barristers averaging at least a couple of hundred thousand a year, but in fact many (especially those doing legally-aided criminal and family law work) are earning well under £100K, and many of those are making below £50K.

Needless to say, the public does not feel very sorry for those earning as much or more than they themselves do, but at the same time, barristers do have many extra expenses, which can take thousands or even tens of thousands off their gross income.

In the end, there has to be an effective court system, and that does mean having at least a corps of advocates, and that composed of at least reasonably proficient persons, which in turn posits the need for adequate remuneration.

I have no real axe to grind here. When I was at the ordinary practising Bar (1992-1996 and then 2002-2008), my work was partly (and after 1996, entirely) non-legally-aided. Also, I am scarcely likely to be overly kind about a profession the regulators of which allowed themselves to be manipulated by Jew-Zionist troublemakers who complained about me on political grounds (long after I ceased actual work as a barrister): see https://ianrobertmillard.org/2017/07/09/the-slide-of-the-english-bar-and-uk-society-continues-and-accelerates/.

Ukraine

[Daily Mail map showing apparent state of play as of 10 March 2022]

I do not have comment re. that map specifically, beyond what I wrote yesterday, i.e. that the Russian immediate strategy seems to be to draw a line from Kharkov to Dnipro (former Dnepropetrovsk) and then down to where Russian forces are near Zaporozhye, to defeat all Ukrainian forces east of that line, and to occupy everywhere east of that line.

The Russians are now playing what is called, in chess, a positional game, relying on broad strategy and slow accretions, rather than swift tactics and bold moves.

Ukraine is now, having been for 30 years close to being a “failed state”, a complete shell of a state, at least in the east. The latest statistics show that its economy has collapsed by 50% or more already. It has limited vehicle fuel, and the besieged areas lack not only fuel, but food, ammunition, and even water in some cases.

Russian forces in Ukraine face logistical problems —unsurprising in a country the size of France— but not shortages as such. Time is on the Russian side in that sense. Their forces can be resupplied.

I should think that the Russians will start to target any large Ukrainian troop concentrations, as well as resupply lines, using more powerful missiles launched from inside Russia.

Well worth reading, especially by MPs, especially by Conservative Party and (Starmer-) Labour Party MPs.

The photo shows, I think, the inspection carried out later (in 1943) by the German forces that had invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, and so also the part of Poland taken by Soviet invaders in 1939. Some international experts from Switzerland and Hungary took part in the exhumation.

The massacre itself was carried out by the Soviet NKVD in 1940.

See also:

At the beginning of 1944, Ron Jeffery, an agent of British and Polish intelligence in occupied Poland, eluded the Abwehr and travelled to London with a report from Poland to the British government. His efforts were at first highly regarded, but subsequently ignored, which a disillusioned Jeffery later attributed to the actions of Kim Philby and other high-ranking communist agents entrenched in the British government. Jeffery tried to inform the British government about the Katyn massacre, but was as a result released from the Army.[65]

In 1947, the Polish Government in exile 1944–1946 report on Katyn was transmitted to Telford Taylor.[66]

In the United States a similar line was taken, notwithstanding two official intelligence reports into the Katyn massacre that contradicted the official position. In 1944, Roosevelt assigned his special emissary to the Balkans, Navy Lieutenant Commander George Earle, to produce a report on Katyn.[24] Earle concluded the massacre was committed by the Soviet Union.[24] Having consulted with Elmer Davis, director of the United States Office of War Information, Roosevelt rejected the conclusion (officially), declared he was convinced of Nazi Germany’s responsibility, and ordered that Earle’s report be suppressed. When Earle requested permission to publish his findings, the President issued a written order to desist.[24] Earle was reassigned and spent the rest of the war in American Samoa.[24]” [Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn_massacre].

As blogged a day or two ago, Soviet agents, pro-Soviet “useful idiots”, and/or Jews, were trying, as late as the early 1980s, to pin the guilt for the Soviet massacre at Katyn on the forces of the Reich.

Mirabile dictu! At last, Boris-idiot’s government may be doing something which which I may be able to agree, depending on the detail. Much later, perhaps, we may be able to remove millions of others from the UK to Rwanda or other such countries. They would be more suited to life outside Europe.

It might just save our country’s socio-ethno-racial future.

Whatever one may think of the present shambolic UK government, if the proposed scheme gets going on a large-enough scale, that will cook Labour’s goose for good, I should think.

The area now known as “Ukraine” has of course a history which includes being part of the Khazarian empire:

I saw recently that Graham Linehan, the former scriptwriter, was feeling sorry for himself because “trans” fanatics had had him “cancelled”, and because his wife left him, it seems, once he had little money or income left.

This is what I was reading: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10677797/Graham-Linehan-Trans-rights-extremists-destroyed-career-marriage-never-in.html

What to say when you dislike both sides of a conflict?

I have blogged before about both Linehan and the “trans” nonsense which seems inescapable in the UK of 2022:

As a matter of fact, I had never heard of Linehan until he was scathing about me on Twitter several years ago. I had only vaguely heard of Father Ted, and certainly never seen it.

I have to say that his present troubles could not have happened to a more appropriate person; I see that quite a few Daily Mail readers seem to agree with me. I do not agree with the Daily Mail scribbler who refers to him as “this decent man“, even though I agree with Linehan about the “trans” nonsense and associated lunacy.

In the American phrase, “what goes around comes around“…

A few other self-appointed enemies should muse on that.

Diary Blog, 30 March 2022, with a few words about Scottish Labour

Morning music

As always, see how many blank spaces there are, mostly the result of (still-intensifying) Twitter censorship over the past year.

Scottish Labour

I usually try to steer clear of Scottish politics, but the madness of it at least equals anything seen south of Hadrian’s Wall.

The Scottish Labour Party is pretty much dead on its feet. Only 1 MP out of a possible 59 at Westminster, and 22 MSPs out of a possible 129 at Holyrood. Even in local government, Labour has bombed, now holding only 249 out of 1227 local council seats in Scotland. The contrast with Scottish Labour’s historical high points is stark.

Labour had 56 out of 72 Scottish MPs 1997-2005, and historically held at least 30 Scottish seats at Westminster. In fact, the present position is its worst ever— even in 1910, in its first General Election, it scored 2 MPs: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Labour#House_of_Commons.

Actually, in terms of the popular vote, Scottish Labour’s best performance was in 1966 (49.8%), and its worst was in 2019, at 18.6%, less precipitous a fall than in terms of seats, but that’s First Past The Post voting for you.

In the Scottish Parliament, there has been a steady decline in Scottish Labour seats, from 56 out of 129 in 1999, to 22 out of 129 in 2021. Scottish Labour has not been even in coalition government in Scotland since 2007.

In the now-irrelevant European elections, Scottish Labour, which once had 7 out of 8 Scottish seats in the European Parliament, declined to flat zero (out of 6) by 2019 (9.3% of the popular vote).

Incidentally, Scottish Labour is now headed by a Glasgow-born Pakistani, who apparently has a £5M share in a family grocery business: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anas_Sarwar.

Scottish Labour’s problem is at one with that of UK Labour generally— the disappearance of the industrial proletariat. In addition to that, Labour ground has been taken by the faux-nationalist and sort-of social-democratic SNP.

As for the young lady who wants to lead the youth wing of Scottish Labour, she sounds like a caricature from the days of Michael Foot, with her talk of “picket lines” etc. Ha ha! Asinine or what?!

Amusing memory

A memory was just triggered by something I saw.

My Anglo-Russian girlfriend in the 1980s, seven years older than me, once told me about the time when, as a young (about 19-y-o) student, she was sent from the UK (in or about 1969) to see her relatives in Leningrad (those who, unlike her mother and others, had not fled as children from the Bolshevik revolution, or coup d’etat, in late 1917), to improve her spoken Russian (her degree course was in Russian and French).

The assembled Russian aunts, uncles etc asked what she did in her leisure time at Cambridge University. She said that she had a part-time job in a pub, in order to socialize, and to make a little extra money at the same time.

So far so good, except that (her colloquial Russian still being rudimentary despite her background and university studies) she translated “pub” (ie “public house”) as “publichny dom“, which is literally “public house”, but in Russian is actually the colloquial term for a brothel, or bordello.

There ensued a shocked silence, then questions from her aunts and uncles, such as “does your mother know?!” (“Oh, yes, my parents both said that it would be good for me to do that work, and meet people from various walks of life”) and “do other girls at the University do it?” (“Oh, yes, many do…a way to make some money and enjoy some evenings, and not difficult once you get used to it” etc…).

Eventually, one of her uncles realized that the problem was linguistic, not her morals or the decadence of Western society…

Still clapping?

I predicted something like this many years ago. There is really little difference between a late-term foetus and a young baby. Many people are born prematurely, are usually completely healthy, and some go on to to be of world-historic significance (historically, St. Paul, for one). A foetus is dependent upon its mother, but a baby (human) is also completely dependent, unable to live independently. In fact, it is an irrefutable fact that a human child is only gradually less dependent; it takes years.

The evil displayed in that proposed Californian legislation is a sign of the times. Many of the most significant (and often negative) cultural manifestations affecting Europe, and other parts of the world, have emerged over the past century from California.

Somewhat similar situation in UK: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10307849/Social-workers-investigating-couple-beat-Star-Hobson-death-missed-five-chances-save-her.html

I am a member of the New York Bar (on paper— I never practised there, as such, though I did work in the USA on occasion), and was also a member of the Bar of England and Wales until a pack of Jews contrived my (wrongful and unlawful) disbarment in 2016 by way of a malicious and politically-motivated complaint: see https://ianrobertmillard.org/2017/07/09/the-slide-of-the-english-bar-and-uk-society-continues-and-accelerates/.

I have met many American lawyers, had dealings with quite a few, and also seen some in action in both state courts (in New York) and Federal courts (in New York and New Jersey). A few are highly intelligent; most are not. As for advocacy, most are rock-bottom.

If true, this is “incredible” (in the sense of “amazing”).

This may well end badly (the whole thing).

This comes close to becoming an active participant in a war against Russia.

A point I have made repeatedly for many years.

The old idea that Britain is (or rather, was) “a free country under law” has become “Britain is a facade of a free country under law, but behind that really is, or is becoming, an unfree country bound by arbitrary decisions and instant fake ‘laws’ and regulations“.

Peter Hitchens has, over the past couple of years (since the “panicdemic” police state emerged) made similar claims about his Twitter account.

Once again, Evil poses as something “good”…

France, like Britain, needs a cultural purge. Followed by “Nuremberg” laws.

Something else that Britain needs, badly, now.

So 1,000 missiles per day? At what point does a state supplying such weapons in such quantities become de facto an active participant in the war?

Of the above news items, the only really immediately significant one is that the tough, indeed brutal, Chechen fighters attached to the Russian effort claim to have taken the city hall of Mariupol, i.e. the central part of the city (pre-invasion population around 450,000).

Morale in at least part of the Russian invasion force has obviously been a problem, which is no doubt why Putin has drafted in the determined and relentless Chechens; it seems that battle-hardened Syrian volunteers, motivated (by money) and experienced, may arrive before too long. That may stiffen the Russian line.

The EU really is a bad joke now. If Ukraine is admitted, then it means that all the supposedly carefully-worked-out EU membership criteria (social and political stability, territorial integrity, no part of a country being under occupation, economic stability, stability of currency etc) are worth squat, to put it colloquially.

Panicdemic

It also shows, pretty clearly, that the Russian occupiers are not the monsters that are being portrayed in the Western msm…

The civilians in the occupied cities are plainly not much afraid of the Russian troops.

The Western arms being sent to the Kiev regime may well result in localized, and even wider, defeats for Russian forces in the short term, but will result either in the Russian high command (historically, the Stavka) committing more troops and equipment to the war (as it now is) or (and/or) using very powerful bombs, missiles and artillery to flatten cities in the south and east of Ukraine and also to attack, from long distances, strategic targets in the west of Ukraine.

So far, the Russians have not much targeted such as railway stations, railway lines, and major road links from neighbouring countries, in the west of Ukraine.

Neither have whatever Putin has in the nature of the old Soviet Spetsnaz forces been used to assassinate the highest-ranking members of the Kiev regime.

In Soviet days, so-called “Olympic Spetsnaz” (many officers of which were or had been athletes in Olympic competition) were assigned to be used against targets of the highest strategic importance— early-warning stations, missile launch sites, nuclear power stations and manufacturing plants, and the assassination of heads of state, heads of government, high-ranking military and naval chiefs etc.

When push comes to shove, Putin is not going to back down. The only question is how far his (it seems not very competent) General Staff and intelligence apparat will back him. As I said weeks ago, Stalin would have been shooting generals and spy chiefs right and left by now.

On Her Majesty’s Not Very Secret Service

I happened to see this 2021 Daily Mail article by Craig Brown [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Brown_(satirist)]: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-10487439/CRAIG-BROWN-spy-licence-tweet-MI6.html.

By chance, if you like, I have just finished reading the 2016 biography, Spymaster [https://www.theguardian.com/books/2016/nov/11/spymaster-martin-pearce-mi6-maurice-oldfield], by Martin Pearce, the nephew of the subject. Incidentally, good value; bought used via Amazon— only about £6 even including postage for a hardback copy in almost new condition.

That book is well written, workmanlike, but unexciting. It covers much the same ground as “C”, an earlier and far more interesting study, written in 1985 by “Richard Deacon” [Donald McCormick; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_McCormick], an interesting writer whose books on espionage etc are always very readable.

Deacon’s book delved into Oldfield’s interest in astrology and numerology. For me, that was one of its most interesting areas. The more recent book ignores that area of Oldfield’s mind completely, which I think is a weakness in it.

The strengths of the 2016 book lie in its having more up to date material, and in the fact that the author could tell a few anecdotes about his uncle. Not enough, for me, and having read the earlier book long ago, as well as other material, I found the 2016 book rather derivative.

As for the now-tiresome recounting of what is publicly known about those over-rated people Philby, Burgess, Maclean, and Blunt, for me that was like seeing a merely so-so film for the tenth time.

Other aspects of the intelligence history (and indeed, general history) of the 20thC, I found very shallow indeed, and there were a couple of plain errors.

I don’t want to knock Pearce’s book too much. It is a fairly good read, and worth reading at that, but personally I would not give it more than 3 stars out of 5.

As for that Craig Brown article, I agree with much of what he says, but his points are weakened when he says that, for example, Maxwell Knight [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxwell_Knight] was “head of MI5“. Perhaps he should have been Director-General [“D-G”], but in fact he never was, though he was ranked as a director of the (then-small) MI5 in the 1920s.

When journalists and other scribblers cannot get basic facts right, it irritates, and makes the reader feel that their opinions are superficial (though, as said, I myself did agree with much of Brown’s article).

Incidentally, Martin Pearce has written but one other book, and that was about the Malayan Emergency [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malayan_Emergency], focussing on its military and intelligence aspects.

I do not know whether Martin Pearce was (or is) in the same line of business as his uncle; neither Amazon nor the dust jacket of Spymaster give any detail at all about his education, residence, hobbies, or occupation.

We are in the midst of a gigantic propaganda campaign, and it is certainly not a Russian one. The Russians, though, have made it easy for the Ukrainian regime (in fact, the New World Order conspiracy); the hamfisted and now brutal Russian attacks have reinforced the anti-Russian propaganda being pumped out 24/7.

Ship them all back to Nigeria.

Idiots of the Piers Morgan type are basically puppets-on-a-stick, saying whatever is required of them by the people who really matter.

Piers Morgan would no doubt disbelieve his own eyes, were Russian nuclear missiles to start landing in his native Essex, and preventing him from taking half a dozen holidays a year in the Maldives, Seychelles etc.

The old Soviet Union was sometimes described as “Upper Volta with rockets”. Well, OK (though that was obvious hyperbole anyway), but the great fact was that those rockets existed. 6,200 still exist, upgraded and mostly ready to launch.

Yes, of Russia’s 6,200 missiles (and nuclear bombs), only some will successfully launch and reach their target areas. Probably half, or maybe fewer, even as few as a quarter. So about 1,500. Of which about a tenth might be aimed at UK targets. Call it 150. 150 nuclear missiles, landing in the UK, each one capable of destroying almost anything within a radius of maybe 10 miles or more. Just one, landing in Westminster, would affect directly as far out as the outer London suburbs. That leaves 149 other such missiles striking elsewhere in the UK: Portsmouth. Southampton. Every large Army base. Every airfield. Every major city and town.

Nein danke, Piers “useful idiot” Morgan.

Seems that some people need to be reminded of a few facts:

#Ukraine has only been an independent state for 31 years;

#Prior to 1991, Ukraine was merely part of the Soviet Union and, before that, of the Russian Empire, stretching back for hundreds of years;

#Ukraine is a corrupt and shambolic state run by a profoundly undemocratic Jewish cabal;

#The UK has no alliance with Ukraine, no military treaty, and no obligation under international law to funnel arms to its illegitimate rulers;

#Sending arms to Ukraine only prolongs its agony.

Nearest town square. Firing squad. End.

Please refer to my earlier comment.

I do not generally approve of the death penalty. I however distinguish between that and what amounts to a public health measure…

The sad fact is that the organs of the UK State (eg police, CPS, MI5/MI6 etc), and the institutions of society, to a large extent, now work against the interests of the British people. Wilfully so.

I was only just blogging, in the past few days, about how Russia will, perforce, turn to autarky, or semi-autarky. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autarky.

The Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan. No “conspiracy theory”; it’s all around you. Just open your eyes.

I tend to distrust such “happiness” or similar league tables, but it is noteworthy that 9 out of 10 of the “most happy” countries on that list are in Europe, and still with largely European populations…

How is it that not one Western journalist has seen fit to ask the Jew tyrant Zelensky why his own security service shot a Ukrainian “government” negotiator in the head as he was entering a building in Kiev?

Incidentally, no Western (certainly no UK or US) “news” outlets have questioned why Kiev civilians are being prevented by Ukrainian government curfews from leaving the city and fleeing westward.

Temps perdu

I happened to see the pdf link below, which is a tribute (a collection of eulogies) to John Lloyd, a barrister who was in my chambers when I practised in Exeter (2002-2008):

John Lloyd, who was born in 1941, died in 2017, a fact of which I was unaware until I saw the link yesterday.

I usually follow the maxim de mortuis nihil nisi bonum (“about the dead, nothing if not good“), but Lloyd did die about 5 years ago, and some matters are of historical interest.

I rather liked John Lloyd, someone who was unfailingly polite, and with whom I shared a room at Chambers, though he was rarely at his desk. I was under the impression that most of his work was done in London or at home. I believe that he had property in both London and Exeter.

Lloyd had taken on the English or Oxbridge eccentricity displayed by some affluent and financially-successful persons, of riding an ancient bicycle, in his case to Chambers, at which times he changed his “Gromyko” black wide-brimmed hat for a bike helmet.

Lloyd was one of the highest-earning members of Chambers (I believe in the £300,000+ bracket, which would be good now, let alone 15-20 years ago). His work came, I was told, mainly from Labour Party-controlled local councils in London.

I myself only encountered John Lloyd once in Court, in — I forget which— Plymouth or Exeter County Court, and in an unusual matter in which three members of Chambers were briefed for different parties in the same case; incidentally, the matter ended satisfactorily for all in the end.

Though I liked John Lloyd, I knew that he had been anti-apartheid, and had strong political views, though (like me) he rarely spoke about political matters in Chambers. I have to say that, despite quite liking him, there was some element there that had me wondering whether he was entirely trustworthy or open. Nothing concrete, just a vague sense of something hidden.

John Lloyd was diagnosed with cancer in or about 2007, but lived for another decade. I myself ceased active Bar practice at the end of 2007, though remained notionally in practice until mid/late 2008. I think that I last saw him sometime in 2007.

I was aware that John Lloyd had been dropped as prospective Labour candidate for Exeter several years before I met him, but did not know much detail, though I knew from someone at the Bar that it was connected with his having given evidence against a terrorist in a bombing case in South Africa. The local Exeter Labour Party was (quelle surprise) all in favour of the anti-white terrorism in South Africa, though by the time Lloyd was binned (mid-1990s), South Africa was already under ANC control.

The half-witted Nelson Mandela (an ex-law student who had failed his law degree three times) was 46 when convicted in 1964 of plotting to start a race war): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rivonia_Trial.

The defendants in that trial were all either Africans or Jews.

I have just now been looking at what is available about John Lloyd and South Africa at that time.

It seems that Lloyd had joined an extremist/terrorist organization after the Rivonia trial, as had one John Harris: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frederick_John_Harris; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Resistance_Movement.

The “ARM” started to blow up electrical-power pylons etc before graduating to the operation that destroyed it and also led to convictions for most of its small membership. That operation was the planting of a bomb in a whites-only waiting room at Johannesburg Railway Station.

One old lady of 77 (or as the apologists would have it, “only” one person) was killed; many others “only” injured. One was a 12-year old girl, Glynnis Burleigh, the grand-daughter of the murdered old lady.

[Glynnis Burleigh, a young girl who was one victim of the Johannesburg Railway Station Bomb of 1964; she was badly mutilated]
[Glynnis Burleigh in 2016, still bearing scars, 52 years later]

A doctor involved in the aftermath has written: https://www.theheritageportal.co.za/article/caring-injured-after-johannesburg-station-bombing

The bomb at the railway station was mainly made of sticks of dynamite wrapped around a core consisting of cans of petrol; it seems that some phosphorus was also included. A simple but wickedly-deadly device.

It is now claimed that the bomb was “symbolic”, having been placed in a whites-only area. Tell that to, say, Glynnis Burleigh.

It is also pleaded, by (in my opinion) apologists, such as a London (I think Jewish or partly-Jewish) lawyer whose father was apparently the bomber, that “a warning was given“.

That kind of attempt to shift the blame for the death and injury caused by acts of terror will not wash. The IRA used to give warnings of that sort, as did the Jews who killed about a hundred people at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem in 1946: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_David_Hotel_bombing; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_David_Hotel_bombing#Warnings.

You can see from Wikipedia etc that the same claims are made about the Jerusalem bombing of 1946 as about that in Johannesburg in 1964: a “warning” was given, and “the authorities may have deliberately not acted on the warning” (in order to incite hatred against the bombers). Pretty unconvincing in both cases.

As a matter of fact, the Johannesburg “warning” was telephoned to police only six minutes before the bomb exploded; the police did act on the warning but by that time the device had detonated.

https://www.politicsweb.co.za/news-and-analysis/john-harris-and-the-joburg-station-bomb-the-real-t

Incidentally, there may even have been a link between the two bombings. It seems that a leading member of the terrorist cell in South Africa was an Israeli Jew who had held senior rank in the Israeli military apparat:

The [Johannesburg Railway Station bombing] operation was planned by Lionel Schwartz, who was ARM’s most militarily experienced operative, having served as an officer in WW2 in the British army, and in the IDF in Israel’s 1948-49 Independence War. He served as a senior (Brig. General) in the IDF until he returned to SA in 1953 or 54.” [Wikipedia].

Having said that, there is no direct evidence (that I have seen) of a link (i.e. that Schwartz was also involved in the 1946 bombing).

The said Schwartz may also have been a Soviet agent, which would fit:

“In recent years, however, it has been suggested by Eli Bardenstein in his article ‘Traitor or Liar?’ in Maariv (22 July 2003) that Lionel Schwartz, a key Soviet spy who penetrated the highest echelons of Israel’s political and intelligence establishment in the 1950s, and who was heavily involved in the Lavon affair, handed over the Israeli network to Egypt“. [Spies Against Armageddon]

There is a suspicious dearth of information online about that Lionel Schwartz Jew.

Returning to John Lloyd, he had (probably fortunately for him) been arrested a day before the bombing, as the South African authorities rolled-up the small ARM network.

It is claimed that Lloyd was “tortured”; he was certainly ill-treated, made to stand in one place for two days. If taken to an extreme, that might amount to “torture”: in the days of Stalin, the “stoyka” or “standing” was a recognized technique of the NKVD, with some prisoners having to stand (because forced into vertical oubliette-style tiny cylindrical cells and kept there for days) until they died or “confessed”.

I was made to stand on one spot. It is a devilish torture for would-be heroes. You torture yourself. I stood for two days. On the evening of the second day, a bomb exploded on the Johannesburg railway station. The police told me that 20 people had been killed. It was not until months later that I learned that, in fact, only one person had been killed.” [John Lloyd in the Independent].

https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/i-do-not-condone-terrorism-1580013.html

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/bombs-and-betrayal-haunt-wouldbe-mp-1579969.html

Note the weaselling again, though; “only” one person killed (and no mention of the terrible injuries suffered by many other victims).

Whether because of his interrogation, or because he was shocked at the bombing having been carried out at all, or with such carnage, Lloyd agreed to co-operate, and eventually testified against several of his former comrades. It is also a fair conclusion that Lloyd did not want to be incarcerated with them. In return for immunity from prosecution, Lloyd turned State’s Evidence (became a prosecution witness).

The bomber, Harris, was hanged after a trial. His son, now a barrister in London, referred to his father, in a Guardian piece some 9 years ago, as an “activist“…: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/aug/13/my-activist-father-was-hanged.

Mandela, of course, morphed from being just a failed law student and failed or would-be terrorist leader into the West’s secular “saint” of the age, having mellowed in his (actually eventually quite comfortable) incarceration (in the last few years he was in a house reserved for him alone, and even had his own chef and other servants!).

John Lloyd never did become MP for Exeter. The Conservative Party made much of his early “terrorist” activities, while the Labour Party binned him because he had (as they preferred to look upon it) turned coat and “betrayed” his former “comrades”.

https://edm.parliament.uk/early-day-motion/10512/mr-john-lloyd-labour-party-candidate-for-exeter

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/labour-s-nec-tells-candidate-to-stand-down-1344451.html

Ben Bradshaw, a mediocre and rather dishonest person who later became a Cabinet minister (and noted expenses cheat and/or freeloader), became MP for Exeter in 1997, as well as an “ultra-loyal” Blairite, and is still sitting there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Bradshaw.

So there we are. A few reminiscences, and a few more-general thoughts.

Postscriptum: I should add that, though I did spend some time in Rhodesia and Botswana (in 1977), I have never visited South Africa (unless you count my almost-overnight plane change at Johannesburg, also in 1977: Gaborone-Johannesburg-Frankfurt). I believe that my maternal great-grandfather is buried, or memorialized, at Cape Town, though.

I agree, in that you see newspaper readers’ comments, Twitter twit comments etc to the effect of “let’s bomb Russia” or the even more brain-dead “bring it on!“. People sitting in suburban England, who apparently cannot wait for their entire world, home, family etc to be utterly destroyed by nuclear attack. “Idiots” hardly covers it…

Then add in the pseudo-machismo. “Britain can take it” etc. Yes, Britain, which will not exist except in terms of geography after a nuclear attack, can take having all its main (if not all) cities and towns destroyed, irradiated, all the people killed, or mutilated and/or mortally-irradiated, all supplies of food and water gone, all services (NHS, financial, police, fire, even sewerage) gone. As I say, “idiots” hardly even covers it.

The West is weak. Britain is very weak. Look at the Russians. Look at the Ukrainians. They both have national and national-cultural sentiment. That has been large wiped out in the UK. A high proportion of the UK population is now not really British, nor even white European.

I understood decades ago that The Economist is more or less the house journal of what one might now call the “New World Order” [“NWO”] or Western establishment.

Apparently about a third of the “Ukrainian” “refugees” are actually blacks and other non-Europeans.

I hope that it survives the present conflict intact.

I happened to notice this piece about the London barrister whose father was hanged in 1965 for having executed a terrible terror attack at Johannesburg Railway Station in 1964:

That very political set of chambers was founded, inter alia, by Cherie Blair, though I looked for her name on the website without success (and she no longer practises from there): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherie_Blair#Legal_career.
