Let us assume for a moment that the vaccine(s) expected actually work. What then? There is every chance that “the virus” will mutate, rendering the vaccine(s) almost useless. Or another virus may emerge, far worse than “Covid-19”.
Meanwhile, the economy of the UK will have been trashed to the extent that it may never recover.
People may think that I am being alarmist, but look at the facts. The UK economy was badly damaged by the First World War and the consequent government debt.
The Second World War made matters worse overall. Britain was saved, up to a point, by North Sea oil and gas, which started to come on stream in the late 1960s.
Another factor keeping Britain afloat after WW2 was the expansion of the world economy, with Britain advantaged in Africa and elsewhere by the policy of “Imperial Preference”.
Again, Britain after WW2 still had a functioning industrial and skills base, more so than the damaged, in some cases shattered, economies of mainland Europe.
However, instead of creating a wealth fund, as Norway and other oil producing states have done, the UK squandered its black gold on the same things noted by Correlli Barnett in relation to post-1945 policy: maintaining a mirage of being a global power, maintaining the Welfare State inc. NHS, and leaching money to private capitalist entities (such as the oil companies themselves).
The long-term trends are the ones that matter. Take the value of the US Dollar vis a vis the Pound Sterling. The pound/dollar exchange rate has freely floated since 1971, prior to which the official rate was fixed.
In 1972, the pound, boosted by North Sea oil and expansionist economic policies under Chancellor of the Exchequer Anthony Barber, reached not far short of USD $3 (about $2.70).
The pre-1971 rates cannot be compared to that because they were fixed. Prior to the 1930s, the UK was on the gold standard, so again the rates were not floating in the manner in which they now are. Still, it is interesting to reflect on the fact that the effective exchange rate in 1919 was about £1 Sterling to USD $4.50. It has been suggested that the rate in 1860, prior to the American Civil War, was effectively about £1 to $8!
At present, the pound is worth around USD $1.30, and that despite the poor state of the US Dollar itself.
The UK economy has become, since the 1970s, largely a service industry economy. The “lockdowns”, the facemask nonsense etc have hit the service industries hard.
As to the retail sector, it may have maintained some level of sales by reason of Internet traffic, but that is no consolation to the thousands of people now losing their jobs in the “High Street” economy. The untold billions being sprayed across the economy by Rishi Sunak merely freeze the situation overall. The largesse “solves” nothing.
Already, 2.5M-3M unemployed are forecast for the UK by next year. That could turn into six million by 2022 (strange, that “six million” again…). Such events could give social-national politics the best chance since the 1930s, maybe even better. There has to be a suitable vehicle first.
It seems clear to me that the international “consensus” or “conspiracy” has decided to throw Europe as a whole on the scrapheap for several reasons. North America and the Far East are to be built up as world trading hubs. Europe is surplus to requirements. Its peoples are surplus to requirements.
This is what is behind so-called “Great Replacement” of Europeans by the blacks, browns and others. Once Europe consists mainly of blacks, browns, mixed-race offspring of mixed parentage, that new population will become a mass of controllable “pleb” consumers and serfs, raceless, cultureless, powerless.
That mass will be controlled and ruled by a oligarchic cabal or collection of cabals. Not merely Jews, though the Jewish-Zionist element will be major in all of it, and indeed already is.

That would in fact have been impossible, if only because the Gestapo was established only in 1933, at which time it was a police organization purely in the region of Prussia, having been set up by Goering. Anna Seghers was from Mainz, in the Rhineland-Palatinate, and spent all or most of her life until 1934 in that region of Germany, mostly in Koblenz and Cologne. In other words, in the part of Germany where she lived, and when she lived there, there was no Gestapo.
It is possible that this Anna Seghers was questioned by local police, though not Gestapo, or even that she was briefly detained in 1933 or 1934 in Prussia (where there was a Gestapo), though that seems unlikely. Whatever the true facts, and even if she was arrested, she was then released. So she was not (as typical postwar propaganda would have it) brutalized, imprisoned, sent to a concentration camp, shot, “gassed” or her skull exhibited by SS-Ahnenerbe…
In fact, she went —and was allowed to go— to Switzerland in 1933 or 1934, and from there she went to Mexico.

So look at that above paragraph: The Seventh Cross was “one of the very few depictions of concentration camps” before 1945, yet that description is entirely fictional! Anna Seghers was never anywhere near a concentration camp or any kind of camp! In fact, she had left Germany in 1933 or 1934, i.e. before or within a few months of Hitler’s accession as Chancellor.
Reminiscent of the above is the 1993 film Schindler’s List, which many think of as “history”, whereas in fact it was based on a novel, Schindler’s Ark, written by an Australian who was only born in 1935, and whose novel (i.e. a work of fiction, which in fact won the Booker Prize for Historical Fiction) was published in 1983.
Naturally, a few real facts are woven into the fictional narrative. This is common to all “faction” writing (cf. The Day of the Jackal etc).
Another is the film Sophie’s Choice, which is completely fictional, but which many naive people cite as a “true story” and an example of the behaviour of the SS etc!

Having said that, continual issuance of fiat money eventually cannot be sustained. In extreme cases it leads to collapse of the currency as people cease to accept that such money has value. I myself saw, on several visits, what happened in Poland in the late 1980s as the zloty slid in value and then just collapsed vis a vis hard currencies. When I was first there, in summer 1988, the zloty already had an official rate which was many times the value of the true rate (as against the US Dollar, the only currency universally acceptable in 1980s Poland). The taxi drivers all had stickers saying “x4“, meaning that you paid 4 times what the meter showed. By the time that summer 1988 had given way to the snows of winter, the stickers read “x40“, and by early Autumn of 1989, “x200“.
I recall taking a taxi ride around part of Warsaw in late 1989. The taxi driver could not find the address, because the apartment building sought was in a small street which was not marked on any streetmaps. Eventually, he found it. The amount on the meter was large and then had to be multiplied by 200! Fortunately, I had more than enough (in British money it was worth only a few pounds). The Bolsheviks were in fact almost an irrelevance until 1917. Their numbers seem to have been between 5,000 and 50,000 until that year. Lenin himself was not even in Russia until two months after the first or real revolution of 1917. His putsch merely took over an existing situation.
I doubt that many, in the Russia of, say, 1913 or 1914, could have predicted that the Imperial state (and society) would fall so easily and so comprehensively.

The above echoes my recent experience of having visited a small hospital in Southern England a few times and briefly. Almost deserted.

It is a commonplace to read that the Electoral College system is undemocratic, in that it allows a candidate with fewer votes than the other main candidate to win, and so become President.
On the other hand, were total numbers alone to be determinative, and as things are now, that would mean a permanent Democrat and non-white majority (and President).
Many will say “why not?”, but even if one leaves aside my view that white people must rule, it can be seen that such a permanent non-white/Democrat majority would lead to civil war and the break-up of the Union.
The mainly white “flyover” states would eventually secede.
The present system at least allows states far from Washington D.C., and from the larger population areas, to have some kind of say.
London started to be a zoo a long time ago. I can recall incidents even in the early 1980s. I fully expect London to be more or less uninhabitable by 2050, at latest.

I have no idea whether political chicanery is going on in the US Presidential election, but in fairly recent history it was almost ubiquitous in some states, including Illinois and Michigan. It is said that there was outright fraud in favour of John F. At time of writing, the result is in the balance. Party-political aspects of the “lockdown”/shutdown nonsense
I commented a while ago, and also not long after the unmerited Conservative Party “victory” in 2019, that in the absence of a viable official Opposition, any real opposition to the Boris-idiot government would come from within the Conservative Party itself. That has turned out to be the case. In the vote (scheduled for tomorrow) to approve the latest crazy “lockdown”, 80+ Conservative Party MPs are set to vote against, with others abstaining. The Labour Party, though, has stepped into the breach to support the Government!
In fact, Labour’s only “opposition” is to say, “Boris should have done it earlier, harsher, and better-run“… That’s not much of an Opposition…
In the absence of a decent Government and a decent Opposition, we see not only the rebellion of many Conservative Party MPs, but a vacuum opening up. That applies not only to policy and action around “the virus”, but also in other areas: immigration, migration-invasion, illegal immigrants motoring over from France with little to stop them; other areas too: work and pay, pensions.
The Government and Opposition are just too cosy now, both headed by members of Friends of Israel organizations.
The egregious Nigel Farage has, like the businessman he is, “spotted a gap in the [political] market” and, despite having stabbed his own followers in the back twice before (with UKIP and then Brexit Party), now has applied (yes, in our “free” country, you now have to “apply”…) to form a new party, Reform Party.

I heard a piece on BBC World Service about “the virus” as it is in Prague and the Czech Republic generally.
Earlier in 2020, the Czech government instituted one of the most severe “lockdowns” (and other measures) in the world. Now? The Czech Republic apparently has the second-highest rate of infections [known] in the world.
Nothing was said of how many people were having to be hospitalized or how many are dying. A temporary large hospital has been constructed, but according to the BBC reporter, the ventilators shown were “wheezing” without patients.
Conclusion? Nothing much from the BBC; from me, the conclusion that testing is up, known infections are up, but —perhaps— the number of actual deaths from the virus is not much —if at all— up. Also, that the severe “lockdown” of earlier this year has not stopped infection but —at most— merely delayed it.
It might have been better to allow infection to proliferate in the Spring and Summer, when hospitals are less busy generally. Same in the UK.
In the UK, the “lockdown” (shutdown of virtually the whole society) was meant to be, or at least presented to the public as, temporary, for a few weeks only, to “flatten the curve” of infection, the numbers hospitalized etc, and so “save the NHS”. In the contemporary phrase, “that went well”…
Here we are 6+ months later and, while the UK death rate (from “the virus” if not from everything else) is now low, technical infection is high and we still have “local” lockdowns amounting to a semi-national lockdown; also of course the intrusive and unnecessary facemask nonsense.

The Conservative Party won only by default. Huge numbers of 2017 Labour voters did not vote Labour in 2019, true…but relatively few of those voted Conservative. More of the 2017 Labour voters did not vote at all in 2019.

The above tweet (commenting upon another tweet) was tweeted a few days ago by the egregious Jo Maugham, a prolific tweeter who likes to virtue-signal, a pose damaged when it was widely publicized that he had brutally beaten to death a fox.
Maugham, a half-Jew by actual parentage [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolyon_Maugham#Early_life; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Benedictus#Life], and who is a barrister (QC) in the field of tax law, is presumably someone of quite high intelligence, but his pronouncements and judgment calls often show, in my opinion, a lack of commonsense. Not just the fox-killing incident. Maugham was or is a leading supporter of Remain vis a vis the EU; also, if I recall aright, of the doomed joke party, Change UK, which bombed at the European Elections and General Election of 2019. Now look at that tweet featured above.

The latest “Campaign Against Antisemitism (“CAA”) “lawfare” outrage (along with the continuing affaire Chabloz) is the complaint against Nazim Ali, a pharmacist, who made a speech at the Al Quds march in London three years ago, in 2017.
The “CAA” did its usual thing of sneaking around hoping to record something “antisemitic” so that the CAA might complain to the police or to professional regulators.
The case is now before the professional regulatory tribunal for the pharmaceutical profession.
The same thing happened to Jez Turner of London Forum. His speech in Whitehall was overheard by CAA snoop Gideon Falter and/or others. The police and then Crown Prosecution Service [CPS] declined to prosecute, so the CAA used “lawfare”, going to the High Court to have the no-prosecution decision subjected to judicial review. The result was a stalemate, but the Crown Prosecution Service did “reassess” the matter, eventually prosecuting Jez Turner, who was, after a Crown Court trial, eventually sentenced to a year in prison, serving half. A hero.
After my unjust disbarment in October 2016, Falter, the “Director” of the CAA Jew-Zionist pressure group, said to the national Press (Judenpresse…) that my case proved that anyone in a recognized profession who said anything the CAA deemed “antisemitic” would suffer “devastating professional consequences“.
