I came across a video. It purports to be from an independent American journalist taken (by Russian soldiers) to the front line of the battle for Mariopol/Mariupol. How “true” it is, I have no idea, but it is something that the Western msm will not show. I cannot link it here because it has been marked “age-restricted” by YouTube, but you can see it by looking for the reports of Patrick Lancaster on YouTube, or perhaps via Google.
As previously blogged, the Russians seem to be drawing a line from their southern occupied areas, through Zaporozhye, and (as yet only on maps, not on the ground) up to Dnipro/Dnepropetrovsk and then further up to the Kharkov area.
If the Russians can do that, and if they can hold that line, then the Ukrainian or Kiev-regime forces east of that line are doomed, because they will have no chance of resupply.
We are told that the best, most effective, Ukrainian forces are in the southeast, around the Donbass region. If they become completely encircled, then not only are they themselves doomed, but the Kiev regime will lose the best part of its army. In that event, the situation on the ground will change rapidly. The Russians will have far greater forces to deploy beyond the southeast, and the cities east of the Dnieper still under Kiev-regime control will quite soon fall. The distance from Dnipro to Kiev is the same as that from Kharkov to Kiev— 300 miles.
The Russians might decide to advance on Kiev after that, not only from the south/southeast, but also from the east (once Kharkov is fully taken) and again from the north.
There again, Odessa is a major strategic target, as the third-largest city (after Kiev and Kharkov), and with more anti-ship missiles being sent to the Kiev regime by the UK and USA, the Russians might prefer to secure Odessa before attempting Kiev.
Historically, Russia has been at its most relentless when its back has been against the wall. Russia has to win this war, now that it is impossible to back out. The horrible mess of the invasion, and the toll on civilians and their companion animals, has been terrible, but Russia now has no choice but to wade through it all, to some sort of “victory”, however bitter.

The desired result is that most people won’t even bother to question the ethics of policies or laws because it’s become too confusing. They’ll just sit around, gormless and jabbed, waiting for the television to tell them when to be cross and when to be content.
This is not new, though —arguably— the subtlety, and degree of intensification, may be.

The latest absurdity is, of course, the fast-tracking of Ukraine into the EU. As I predicted, the Rwanda “get shot of migrant-invaders” plan, absurd though it is (I can think of better ways), has cooked Labour’s goose for now, despite the cost-of-living crisis etc. For one thing, few voters have any confidence in the ability of Jew-lobby puppet Keir Starmer to reduce tax and/or retail prices.
I was always slightly mocking of Corbyn, but at least he was somewhat anti-Zionist, though —fatally— still paying lip-service to the Jewish lobby by his “me-too” behaviour in support of their “holocaust” farrago.
In the end, Corbyn was just too weak, especially in his failure to rid Labour entirely of Jewish and/or Zionist influence.
Having said that, recent by-elections prove that Labour under Starmer is appealing even less than did Corbyn to most voters. Yes, opinion polls have recently been favourable to Labour, but that can change (and already has), like the English weather.
No doubt there will be much excitement if the upcoming local elections give Labour hundreds more council seats. Almost meaningless (even if it happens). One would imagine that the pathetically-poor performance of the “Conservative” Government would wipe it out politically. That does not happen because Labour is perceived as a hypocritical and dishonest nullity.

When you look at other recent conflicts (Syria, for example) we did not see anything like this, certainly not to the same extent. However, now that the Kiev regime is involved, complete madness has ensued in the West. The real or underlying reason seems to be a desire to undermine Russia strategically.
If NATO supports the use of donated MiG or other fighter planes by the Kiev regime, planes now based in Poland or elsewhere, that does come close to direct involvement in what amounts to a war against Russian forces.
If planes use Polish airfields in attacks on Russian forces in Ukraine or elsewhere, Russia is sure to take that as Polish involvement in the “war”. Forget the small print. The same would be true were such planes to be unable to land in Ukraine after use, and then land in Poland or elsewhere.
This situation is quite likely to lead to a widening of the conflict, which might then engulf the surrounding countries, almost all of which now belong to NATO. If that happens, then a full European war will be quite likely, and that might morph into a US-Russia nuclear exchange.
In terms of blame, yes… Russia invaded Ukraine, but the causation goes back 25 years, and in those 25 years NATO has expanded, and pushed the boundaries in every way. To blame Russia or Putin for everything that is now happening is facile, even if understandable. The public only sees the TV news headlines, and understands little of the subtleties.
If I had a few millions, or more, I should be relocating now to somewhere like New Zealand or South America.

We often think of the decisive moments of history as those involving mass movements of people, the invasion of territory by large military formations, and so on. That is, however, at best only a partial truth.
What was the (if there was only one) “decisive moment” in the ascent of the German National Socialist movement? The invasion of Poland? The 1936 Olympic Games? The filmed Nuremberg Rally of 1934? The Beer Hall Putsch of 1923? I should say none of these, important though they were.

Hard to believe. I read a piece in the New York Times about 30 years ago about how the slide in standards in New York City started. I was in and around New York City myself quite often in the 1989-1993 period.

Think how most people in the UK and other advanced countries now live. It is not compulsory to have personal Internet access, or debit/credit cards, or a mobile telephone. It is just that life is increasingly difficult without them.
I recall, years ago, circa 2007, asking whether I might pay for a business hotel (already booked by card) because I had a superfluity of cash at the time, and being told I could use cash, but only if I both showed ID and paid a deposit (I think £100 or £50) in cash upfront. Now? Maybe cash is not even accepted; I rarely, practically never, stay in hotels these days (15 years ago, I probably spent about half of the month in hotels).

As housing and other costs skyrocket, class lines are hardening. Inheritance as a share of GDP in France has grown roughly threefold since 1950, with some upper-income French millennials inheriting more money than many workers make in a lifetime. The growing importance of inherited assets is even more pronounced in Germany, Britain and the United States. In the US, a country with a national mythology that looks askance at inherited wealth, the children of property-owning parents are far better situated to own a house eventually (often with parental help) and enter what is now known as ‘the funnel of privilege.’ In America, millennials are three times as likely as boomers to count on inheritance for their retirement. How will the downwardly mobile react to the prospect of permanent rental serfdom and, ultimately, total dependence on the state? A recent Edelman survey reveals that increasing numbers no longer trust institutions or believe hard work pays off. In a world dominated by a few institutions, today’s precariat of gig and short-contract workers, and those who have dropped out of the workforce entirely, could become an economically less useful version of Marx’s proletariat: a permanent underclass requiring aggressive, quasi-military policing.
Meanwhile, large tech firms and financial giants — even those sceptical about climate change zealotry — see the prospect of record profits and valuations in ‘disruption.’ The pandemic accelerated the white-collar shift to remote work, and the broader demand for automated solutions skyrocketed. A future less reliant on human labor elevates the tech oligarchs to the highest perch on what Lenin called ‘the commanding heights’ of the economy.
In a digitalised economy, it’s good to control the critical niches. The oligarchs do this brilliantly. They have seized dominant shares of key markets from search (Google) to social media (Facebook) to book sales (Amazon). John Kerry, president Biden’s chief climate scold and beneficiary of an heiress’s fortune, travels on a private jet that use thirty times the energy of the average American vehicle.

The “Left”/”Right” terminology is useless. Let’s be specific: much of the censorship and “cancelling” comes from the Jew-Zionist element; the rest from the “woke”, multikulti, fake “diversity” side, but in fact much of that has been fostered by Jews as well, at least in its origins. Regular readers of the blog will know that I was recently blogging about all of this (in general, not this latest news), concluding that the Conservative Party probably can recover its position if it bins Johnson fairly soon. Initially, I thought that idiot would go before summer this year, but corrected myself to say spring 2022. Now? Seems that it could be any moment.
There is no constitutional imperative for a General Election to be held before late 2024 and, at the end of the day, Labour is offering nothing to the British people either, so once The Idiot is binned, the Cons may be able to recover at least to near-parity with Lab.
I saw an interesting analysis, to the effect that, even if there were a general election right now, Labour might still have a majority of a handful of seats, or even no majority.
In the end, though, both Lab and Con are two faces of the (((System))), and are under the same concealed flag.

The victims of such attacks often make it worse by failing to defend themselves against the mob. The professor made the mistake of “apologizing” (for what?) to the mob. He should have faced them down, and also tried to attack the ringleaders in some way.

Boris Johnson has just said that evacuating 15,000 people from Kabul was the biggest military achievement in 50 years or more. The annexation of Crimea in 2014 was a great military achievement. Bringing foreigners to occupy the UK is the opposite of what the military is for.
