Well said, Griffin, though “upper class” is stretching it a bit! Many people realized, years ago, that Twitter had a rotten core in its employee ranks. I myself had, by 2018, just below 3,000 Twitter “followers”, despite myself only following about 40 or so “accounts”, mostly organizations rather than individuals. The Jew-Zionist troublemakers on Twitter tried, from about 2011, to have my account taken down. Finally, in 2018, it was. Prior to that, every time the follower-count approached 3,000, about 40 followers were taken off, en bloc. By the time I was (in the Twitter weasel word, “suspended” (expelled) in 2018, I should have had about 10,000 “followers”.
Others noticed similar phenomena. Peter HItchens made a joke about it, calling the Twitter employees responsible for reducing his follower-count by a personification he called “Frizelda”. Likewise, Nick Griffin realized that various tricks were being employed to reduce his “reach”: not just by reducing the follower-count but also via shadowbanning etc.

This is an attritional battle that favours Ukraine due to the territory involved but for Putin, Kherson has to be defended politically due to its status as the one major Ukrainian city taken roughly intact during this invasion.
Now with his northern flank collapsing, Putin cannot easily withdraw elite units from Kherson, since it would risk a second major rout in the face of the ongoing Ukrainian counter-offensive operations there.
Even if he tries to withdraw some forces, the blown up bridges and frequently-struck temporary crossing points over the Dnipro mean it will be difficult to transfer heavy equipment and vehicles out of Kherson.
If his forces stay put in the south, then the majority of Russia’s usable combat power will be trapped with their backs to the river and steadily ground down by a Ukrainian force that has much better supply lines, more troops and so can sustain an attritional artillery duel for longer.
However, if the Kherson front were to collapse, it would be such a political and military disaster coming soon after the stunning defeat in Kharkiv that Russian military morale might totally disintegrate, or Putin might even find himself threatened by discontented factions within the Russian power structure at home.“

While “3,000 square kilometres” sounds vast, and is in fact about twice the area of Greater London, it is only 1% of the land area of Ukraine, and about 5% or so of the area controlled until recently by Russian forces.
Until now, Russian attacks on a large scale have only affected areas east of the Dnieper, areas in the Sea of Azov and Back Sea coastal belt, and —at the start of the invasion— areas around Kiev.
Until very recently, Russia has not much attacked the strategic civilian infrastructure of most of the Western part of Ukraine, or even Kiev— electrical supply, water supply, gas supply, railways, airports, major roads etc.
It may be that Putin is considering doing just that, possibly even using tactical nuclear weapons, in order to degrade the surviving economy and lifestyle of the Ukrainian population living hundreds of miles away from the battlefields of Eastern Ukraine and the South.

I happened this morning to see an episode of the quiz show The Chase, I think from several years ago. One contestant was a university student reading History (somewhere in Yorkshire; Leeds I think).
Said student said that his own main interest was 20th century history. He was asked in which country was The Long March, and replied “UK“! Of course it was not in the UK, but in China.
Another question, scarcely taxing, one would have thought, even for those not spending three years reading History at a university: “in which city was Sir Francis Drake playing bowls when the Spanish Armada was sighted?” He replied (from a choice of three cities) “Portsmouth“! Incidentally, Neil has (though on another issue) become rather litigious of late; I therefore give fair warning (in re the —admittedly highly unlikely— contingency of his taking any legal action against me), that I have effectively no assets any more, and so am as good as “unsueable”. So the mainstream narrative was natural mutation, while the secondary narrative (as retailed by Sir Richard Dearlove and others) is that Covid-19 was produced in a Chinese laboratory, and that it then escaped somehow.
What about a third idea (and that is the one I tend to favour): the virus was produced in a Chinese laboratory, but did not escape accidentally. It was released deliberately, but that outbreak was, as planned, brought under control quite quickly in Wuhan and other parts of China.
Meanwhile, though, the same virus somehow made its way to the very places, meaning the Alpine ski resorts, best situated a. to incubate new cases and, b. as launch pads from where the virus might be spread quickly throughout the western and central parts of Europe.
Now how was it that that virus jumped from provincial China to the ski resorts of the Alps? We could be looking here at a scenario not far removed from the background of films such as The Cassandra Crossing [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cassandra_Crossing]. Incidentally, “This film was very famous in China with Chinese dub in 1980s” [Wikipedia].
As to why such a “conspiracy theory” might have a basis in reality, there are several possibilities.

He does not understand that it is not “the British elite” who are animal-lovers, but virtually the whole British people. Indeed, it might well be argued that the wealthier Brits are more selective in their love for animals than the poorer ones (who do not, most of them, hunt, shoot or even fish).
Looking at Bastani’s tweet, it is more ambiguous in meaning (not so good for a journalist…) than it seemed when I first saw it. Does he mean that “the British elite” like to kill animals (as when foxhunting), or that they get worked up or agitato in opposition when others do it? In the idiom of today, “whatever”…
In fact, Bastani’s organization, Novara Media, seems (from what I have seen on Twitter etc) to be mainly composed of non-Brits, and indeed anti-Brits, people such as Ash Sarkar.

Never underestimate the political stupidity of the British people: those Con voters would vote Con under any conceivable circumstance, just as, until recently, there were swathes of the UK where voting “Labour” was a community tradition, rarely dissented from.
The problem people have is that there is no credible alternative to even Boris Johnson’s ludicrously-poor government. The Israel-first Starmer Labour Party would be a worse elected dictatorship even than the “Boris” one.

Nick Griffin, Mark Collett, and Patriotic Alternative
I have never met either of the above individuals. Moreover, I do not “support” either, as such, and I do not oppose either, as such. Nick Griffin did well to turn the BNP into a machine capable of at least winning a few EU and local election seats prior to 2010. As for Mark Collett, I like what little I see online about Patriotic Alternative, inasmuch as they are at least doing things on the ground, even if those activities are only going on hikes and putting up banners at various places.
It is hard for an outsider like me to come to any firm view as to whether one or the other is more or less worthy or meritorious. I cannot think that either of those sides or groups is “what Britain needs”, as such, but “all roads lead to Rome” is, I suppose, my basic attitude.
It will take more than opposition to the “panicdemic” to make me like Alex Jones, but his main point is worthwhile.
Interesting to note that Jones’s type of free speech would not be permitted in the UK: OFCOM would “unperson” him at once. In fact, Jones would probably end up getting prosecuted on some bs Mickey Mouse charge or other.
People generally tend to think of Sovietism as having come into being purely under conditions of political violence. Much of its consolidation in the early years, however, took place under what were basically conditions of near-chaos. Rudolf Steiner referred, in 1918 or 1919, to the “impossible social conditions” in Russia (it did not become the Soviet Union until 1923 —officially, 22 December 1922—; the 33-year cycle of world politics and society, again).
What conditions were “impossible?” Shortages caused by official policy, weird laws, “rules”, “advice” etc. People getting sacked, quarantined, arrested for crazy small things, or because their faces did not fit in the New Order, or because they were “former people” who remembered that things had once been mainly better. Also, gradually more severe restrictions on movement, particularly travel outside the country.
Does any of this seem familiar? Yes, the old “socialism”, Marxism-Leninism, even social democracy, started to disappear rather fast after 1989 (again, that 33-year cycle), but the essentials are there, meaning especially the lunacy that becomes dogma, with harsh enforcement of crazy “rules”, supposed “laws” etc. Look at what has happened in the UK and in many other countries in 2020-2021.
The facemask nonsense, the arbitrary “rule of six”, “2 metres social distancing”, the absurd enforcement of those and other crazy “rules” and the “advice” (whims) of idiotic ministers etc, enforced by dim and/or brainwashed police. Arrests of people doing perfectly ordinary things such as walking in the country, sitting on park benches, sunbathing on beaches, going for a recreational car or bike ride outside the local area. Oh, and don’t forget the socially-mandated “clapathon”, idiots clapping on command outside their houses, notionally “for the NHS”, which NHS was pared back to a kind of skeleton service in reality.
All underpinned by a huge propaganda “fear campaign” in the msm.
It is hard to people now to understand how the Russian Revolution gradually became a total police state. Why did more people not resist? Why did many people comply, and even support the embedded nonsense? These things are not easy to spot whe they are happening. Look around you.
I am not just talking about the “Covid-19” situation. The pushing of the “Black LIves Matter” nonsense too: every ad with blacks in it, or with the multikulti “family” (often a white woman, often blonde, and a black man as husband figure). The same in dramas, “soaps” etc. Even historical dramas, like the recent one showing Ann Boleyn as a black woman!
None of this is a kind of “accident”. People, and not only in the UK, are being played like balalaikas, and most have no idea about it.
