As we know, the UK has been cutting defence for years, indeed decades. Large numbers of Army, RAF, and Royal Navy bases are now private housing tracts, and the graphic above makes clear how deep the cuts have been.
At the same time prime ministers of the UK have taken to talking big on defence and war. We have seen, for example, how David Cameron-Levita wanted to get rid of Gaddafi (or rather, the Israelis did, and “Scameron” was but one useful idiot there to do it). Disastrous, allowing millions of migrant-invaders to flood through Libya to Europe, apart from anything else. Leave that aside, though, and look at the forces used.
Even in 2011, British forces were actually incapable of launching an invasion of a state even as weak (beyond outward show) as Libya. They would have been unable to transport enough soldiers by air or even by sea, if they had enough front-line soldiers to transport in the first place.
Thus it was that Britain relied on French and Italian help to refuel the small RAF forces deployed, mostly bombers. The French Navy also had greater resources to deploy than the British.
In the end, as we know, rebel Libyan forces, semi-barbaric, overthrew Gaddafi, brutally killed him, and instituted a period of chaotic lawlessness which today, 11 years later, still reigns.
This is not an analysis of the results of the pathetic strategic ineptitude, but of the fact that Britain was weak in 2011; it is far weaker today. Still, it is worth just looking at the results of David Cameron-Levita-Schlumberger’s stupidity (though I am sure that his Israeli relatives and their government were pleased).

What I find risible about Admiral Lord West’s Daily Mail article is that he (perhaps understandably) thinks in terms of fighting a seaborne or other invasion force, as in the days of the Armada, Napoleon, or the wars against Germany in the 20th Century, or conflicts such as that of the Falklands Campaign in which he himself served (the ship he commanded was sunk under him, he being the last to abandon the vessel). I came across a video. It purports to be from an independent American journalist taken (by Russian soldiers) to the front line of the battle for Mariopol/Mariupol. How “true” it is, I have no idea, but it is something that the Western msm will not show. I cannot link it here because it has been marked “age-restricted” by YouTube, but you can see it by looking for the reports of Patrick Lancaster on YouTube, or perhaps via Google.
As previously blogged, the Russians seem to be drawing a line from their southern occupied areas, through Zaporozhye, and (as yet only on maps, not on the ground) up to Dnipro/Dnepropetrovsk and then further up to the Kharkov area.
If the Russians can do that, and if they can hold that line, then the Ukrainian or Kiev-regime forces east of that line are doomed, because they will have no chance of resupply.
We are told that the best, most effective, Ukrainian forces are in the southeast, around the Donbass region. If they become completely encircled, then not only are they themselves doomed, but the Kiev regime will lose the best part of its army. In that event, the situation on the ground will change rapidly. The Russians will have far greater forces to deploy beyond the southeast, and the cities east of the Dnieper still under Kiev-regime control will quite soon fall. The distance from Dnipro to Kiev is the same as that from Kharkov to Kiev— 300 miles.
The Russians might decide to advance on Kiev after that, not only from the south/southeast, but also from the east (once Kharkov is fully taken) and again from the north.
There again, Odessa is a major strategic target, as the third-largest city (after Kiev and Kharkov), and with more anti-ship missiles being sent to the Kiev regime by the UK and USA, the Russians might prefer to secure Odessa before attempting Kiev.
Historically, Russia has been at its most relentless when its back has been against the wall. Russia has to win this war, now that it is impossible to back out. The horrible mess of the invasion, and the toll on civilians and their companion animals, has been terrible, but Russia now has no choice but to wade through it all, to some sort of “victory”, however bitter.
I agree, but in reality the opposite is happening. The desired result is that most people won’t even bother to question the ethics of policies or laws because it’s become too confusing. They’ll just sit around, gormless and jabbed, waiting for the television to tell them when to be cross and when to be content.
This is not new, though —arguably— the subtlety, and degree of intensification, may be.

Armaments sent to the Kiev regime
We have been told that various countries, such as Lithuania, are supplying Stinger missiles and other ground-to-air, and anti-tank weapons to the Ukrainian forces. These all come from USA, UK and other technologically-advanced NATO states. NATO is effectively giving them to the Kiev regime, sometimes directly, sometimes via proxies.

It seems that the UK minister calling for Putin’s overthrow is James Cleverly, the “mixed race” “Conservative” who has climbed higher than expected for someone whose only paper qualification is a “degree” in “Hospitality Management” from a “McUniversity”.
Incidentally, I was slightly acquainted with that journalist’s mother, Ludmilla Matthews, nearly 40 years ago, around 1983. In fact, she was one of those who taught me on a part-time Russian course (about 3 or 4 classes per week, of which she taught one class), at a language school in Central London. A nice though quite reserved lady, who walked with a limp.
I was unaware of her background in detail until I happened to read, around 2012, Owen Matthews’ interesting book, Stalin’s Children, which was partly about Ludmilla Matthews and her harsh life as a child in the Soviet Union under Stalin and in time of war (early 1940s).
How time flies! Owen Matthews must have been about 12 when I was taught by his mother. Now he is over 50.
I recall Ludmilla Matthews once saying that a Russian phrase I used (I think that the class she taught was Russian Conversation) was “stylish“. Praise is always remembered…
I also remember Ludmilla Matthews because I was in her little class (about 10 people) one afternoon when I was “abducted” by a striking girl with very long hair, who strode into her class before it had finished, looked at me and said “ah, you’re the one. Come with me“!

Not quite sure how to take that, though I did have a beard at the time!

She spoke quite peremptorily to the said Vitya before sweeping out again.
Suffice to say that I never did see the girl’s bedroom, or her icon…This needs a longer telling of the story, though. Anyway, a week or two later, Ludmilla Matthews told me that that girl had mental health problems, was actually dangerous, and had once turned up at the Matthews’ home with a young Australian naval officer whom she had encountered on the London Underground and had “abducted”, like me, but by use of a different story.

If Zelensky has fled, he will probably have gone either to Lvov (300+ miles west of Kiev) or overseas, perhaps to Poland. Lvov seems most likely.
At present, reports indicate that both main airports near Kiev are being contested by Russian and Kiev regime troops. If at least one airport is secured by Russian forces, then reinforcements will pour in from deeper in Russian territory. Fresh troops. That alone would probably tip the balance of the battle for Kiev.
As I write, there are reports that there are Russian tanks already in the streets of Kiev. Again, situation not quite clear.
So far, there seems little appetite among the civilian population for a battle with Russian forces. That may be because, after all, the two countries and peoples are closely-linked ethnically, linguistically and historically. It is not the same as Middle Eastern cities resisting the ISIS barbarians, or 1945 Berlin resisting the Red Army. The Russians are not going to deliberately brutalize the civilian population, and the Ukrainian civilians are aware of that.

That may be so, but this is only a matter of time. The Ukrainian forces cannot prevail. The country is now under blockade by sea and air and only has open borders to the west. That means that food will start to run short, as will fuel for cars and other motorized transport.
I still think that the Kiev regime will fall within a day or so. It will probably try to set up an alternative “capital city” at Lvov. Were I myself in Putin’s boots, I should probably allow that to happen, then concentrate on, firstly, installing a puppet regime/government in Kiev, and then, secondly, securing Ukraine east of the Dnieper, as well as the Black Sea coast. Such a strategy would leave Russia in rulership over all of the 7 major Ukrainian cities except Lvov, and also in control of almost all significant power plants, as well as all sea and river ports, including Odessa, the only really large port.

True up to a point, but Russia’s forces have been greatly upgraded in the past 10-20 years, whereas Ukraine’s have been trashed by 30 years of shambolic, corrupt, and near-meaningless “independence”. Also, it can only be a matter of time before fuel for the remaining Ukrainian tanks runs out. Tanks use a lot of fuel. Russia has command of the skies, too, and it seems that the Kiev regime has lost 10%, maybe 20% or more of its small air force.

While any such talks are in progress, the roads will be increasingly full of Russian tanks, and the skies full of the canopies of Russian parachute forces.
Strategically, the Kiev regime has already lost. If there is any truth to the Russian claim that some of its military units are returning to bases deeper inside Russia, and (implied) that there will not now be an invasion of Ukrainian territory, that latter would be a disastrous strategic miscalculation.
On the above premises, NATO (NWO/ZOG) would build up Ukraine’s military might to the point where Russia’s freedom of action, and security, would be imperilled. Moscow is only 300 miles from the border of Ukrainian territory.
The coming days and weeks will prove whether there is going to be an invasion or not. I cannot see any advantage to Russia in holding back now; the social, political, and military situation will never be so favourable for an invasion.
A Russian takeover of (at least) Eastern Ukraine, the Kiev area, and the Black Sea littoral will prevent a later, much larger, and far more dangerous confrontation with NATO/NWO.
Still, at this point it is difficult to divine the true facts. Russian units may be withdrawing, or they may not be. This may be part of an attempt to create a fog of unknowing before any invasion.

I happened to visit a Tesco supermarket about 6 miles from my humble home this afternoon. I saw a couple of (very elderly) facemask wearers in the car park, and a mother and daughter wearing masks as the exited the store, but apart from that, not one, as far as I noticed. Looking now on Twitter, I notice a few facemask fanatics still desperately trying to validate their 2 years of facemask zealotry, but such people are now becoming figures of fun. Typical example might be the type that proudly proclaims that he or she has (as they put it) “survived Covid“. Usually they have been “vaccinated” several times, had booster shots etc, and usually have various other ailments.

We often think of the decisive moments of history as those involving mass movements of people, the invasion of territory by large military formations, and so on. That is, however, at best only a partial truth.
What was the (if there was only one) “decisive moment” in the ascent of the German National Socialist movement? The invasion of Poland? The 1936 Olympic Games? The filmed Nuremberg Rally of 1934? The Beer Hall Putsch of 1923? I should say none of these, important though they were.

Hard to believe. I read a piece in the New York Times about 30 years ago about how the slide in standards in New York City started. I was in and around New York City myself quite often in the 1989-1993 period.
Apparently, in —I think— 1953, a messenger was in Manhattan during the summer heat, which can be fierce and humid in the city. That messenger took off his tie and jacket in the elevator, was seen by people, and lost his job. I cannot recall how his own matter ended, but that incident, and the subsequent furore, started the avalanche, it seems.
Today, air-conditioning (far better than what you experience in London) is ubiquitous in New York, but standards, at least in the street, and I think often inside as well, have never recovered.

I have my own opinion about what should happen to MPs of that sort, but were I to be too critical of them, I should probably find the employees of the emergent toytown police state at my door (again).
No doubt even my present mild criticism would be enough to have me prosecuted under Nadine Dorries’ new police-state “Online Safety” Bill, which will soon no doubt become law (with the support of Keir Starmer’s fake and pathetic “Opposition”).

Actually frightening, not just because the author explicitly commends what he calls the “brownification” of Europe, but also because he thinks that the population of the world is not really very high, whereas the truth is that the natural world is now breaking under the strain of numbers, most of which hordes are non-white.
