I would think this ignorance is common to many in Parliament. I am learning a lot from " The broken compass" The Cameron delusion " Mr H has written this book to grab you and make you think. Mr.H is a great educator
Parliament, both Commons and (ludicrous) “Lords”, is now full of trash; a situation which has steadily worsened since 1989. We are, incredibly, in a crazy world where the likes of Jess Phillips and Lisa Nandy are spoken of as potential Labour leaders, and where a part-Jew, part-Levantine chancer and self-promoter has somehow become leader of the misnamed “Conservative” Party.
The mother of the murdered black boy, Stephen Lawrence, and by reason of that, now sits in our upper legislative chamber, as does Michelle Mone, a woman who, off the back of an eventually-insolvent bra company, presented herself to cretinous David Cameron-Levita as a great success story. Now “Baroness Mone”. Just a couple of examples. There are many others, such as half-Jew, half-black ignoramus, “Baroness” Oona King, one-time MP, whose autobiography is truly cringeworthy. Sadly, my review on Amazon (along with all my other reviews) is no longer available by reason of Jewish-lobby whining against me.
Parliament is now, like much of Britain, a dustbin.
Well, either my brain is wired differently from those of the majority, or that theory does not work, because I came up with “potato”, which is not the expected answer…
9 September 1585. Cardinal Richelieu was born in Paris, France. He was Louis XIII’s chief minister from 1624 to 1642. He used authoritarian measures to maintain the king’s power by censoring the press, utilising spies and restricting political discussion in public assemblies. pic.twitter.com/yiq9wBZFyx
He might have been at home in the Britain of 2021. Still, I should not be too harsh in judging the Cardinal. After all, he shares his “Sun sign” (Virgo) with me, and is thus —as far as I know— one of the relatively few Virgoan rulers (he was, in effect, a ruler) in history, Elizabeth I of England being another.
On a superficial look, extreme, but then look again at what is actually happening, not only in Greek (South) Cyprus but in Australia, France, Canada etc. An attempt by the State to deny the most basic services to those who refuse the vaccine(s). Even in the UK, there are now difficulties in accessing medical (NHS) services if the patient is not vaccinated. Travel? Worse.
This could be an early “dry run” of what will later appear in world history as the wraparound “mark of the Beast” state, as foretold in Revelation.
Seriously.

Having said that, “Philly” has always had a rough underside. When I was with my first wife (a Federal employee), driving in Philadelphia after watching a baseball game at the old Veterans’ Stadium in (I think) 1990, along with her colleagues (an annual office outing), we saw a mugger grab a woman’s handbag and run away fast. My wife, who was driving, accelerated, and we chased the robber down the narrow street until he darted down a side alley.
Over the past 24 hours, I have been in several retail outlets. The facemask nonsense is in rapid decline everywhere, thank God. Having said that, the dictatorial powers misused by the Government remain in place. I should not be surprised to see a reimposition of the facemask diktat as the weather grows cooler.
Bob Edwards, cartoonist
I may be completely mistaken, but I am wondering whether the clever cartoonist who came to prominence during the 2020 UK “lockdown” shutdown, “Bob” (see a few cartoons below this text) is the same as the young man, Bob Edwards, who used to draw cartoons for League Review, the journal of the League of St. George, circa 1977?
It may be. I noticed last year that the Jew-Zionist element (mostly pro-“lockdown”, pro-facemasks, and in fact in favour of all curbs to freedom) seemed to be hostile to “Bob’s” cartoons and to him. Also, I think that his surname is Edwards. Yes…here is his Twitter account: https://twitter.com/robertedwards47?lang=en.
Looking at his recent tweets, it seems that his political views are less radical than mine, now (in fact, I have no idea exactly what his were “back in the day”).
I met the 1970s cartoonist a few times when I was a member of the League of St. George (1976-1978). That 1970s Edwards was, if I recall aright, a medical student or medical school drop-out. A lady who shall be nameless (and who may or may not still be alive) once told me, I think in 1978, that she had told that young man (who was interested in her) that, if he stopped drinking and passed his medical degree, she would reward him… As far as I know, that never happened. He missed out. She was a lady of her word. Memory Lane…
[Update, 12 September 2021: In fact, I was mistaken: the Daily Telegraph cartoonist is Bob Moran, not Bob Edwards. Moran also has a Twitter account]
Anyone who, like tweeter “Anastasia”/”@Speakingasl”, talks about “a crate full of cats” is indeed a heartless type, the sort that probably likes to think she is full of love of humanity etc, but actually is lacking in real compassion; a box-ticker. I’m not rebelling against anyone. I’m just not wearing a mask because I don’t have to, and because in my opinion it’s a total nonsense to do so. It’s an even bigger nonsense to define yourself by your mask wearing status, and to use it as an instrument to signal your virtue.

I wish that I could say that “I cannot believe how disorganized” has been the UK/US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Sadly, but at the same time lividly, I can believe it all too easily. Taking the British aspect, the quality of British politicians (there are no statesmen) and bureaucrats has declined very much in the past decades.
Britain may pose as a world player, but the major states know that the UK is now a “man of straw”, and no amount of “comms” and public relation bs about “punching above its weight”, “intelligence successes”(where are they?) , “intangible assets”, “soft power” and the like can put that Humpty-Dumpty back together again, not for a very long time, if ever.

I hear stories about NHS inattention and/or negligence constantly. The work of the more dedicated NHS people is weakened by a system grown complacent, and by the fact that for most UK people there is no choice. Like other parts of British life —Oxford and Cambridge, the SIS, the Bar, the Foreign Office, the legal system generally, the Monarchy, the (largely fake) “aristocracy”— the NHS is living off its reputation, not (mostly) from its real value today.
Radio loudmouth Julia Hartley-Brewer once again shows her ignorance. Some animals are worth more than some human beings. Fact. In relation to the Afghan situation, those cats and dogs are completely innocent victims, unlike most of the people there.
“Other animals, which, on account of their interests having been neglected by the insensibility of the ancient jurists, stand degraded into the class of things. … The day has been, I grieve it to say in many places it is not yet past, in which the greater part of the species, under the denomination of slaves, have been treated … upon the same footing as … animals are still. The day may come, when the rest of the animal creation may acquire those rights which never could have been withholden from them but by the hand of tyranny. The French have already discovered that the blackness of skin is no reason why a human being should be abandoned without redress to the caprice of a tormentor. It may come one day to be recognized, that the number of legs, the villosity of the skin, or the termination of the os sacrum, are reasons equally insufficient for abandoning a sensitive being to the same fate. What else is it that should trace the insuperable line? Is it the faculty of reason, or perhaps, the faculty for discourse?…the question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer? Why should the law refuse its protection to any sensitive being?… The time will come when humanity will extend its mantle over everything which breathes…“ [Jeremy Bentham (1748 – 1832)].

A certain section of the French population found free rein for their vindictive sadism. Often Communists, some Jews, but various types, usually those who had never fought German Occupation themselves anyway. There is a certain type that does that kind of cruelty. The same was true in Northern Italy, and elsewhere (e.g. Netherlands) after hostilities had ended.

We saw the same phenomena in 2020 in the UK: the worst-performing police forces (Derbyshire, Devon and Cornwall, Wales etc) going after British people walking on moors, on beaches, in woods, and so on, police “woodentops” even checking people’s shopping purchases to see whether (in opinion of said woodentops) they were “reasonable” purchases! Even North Korea did not do that…
The very same police forces are also the ones most obviously in the pocket of the Jewish lobby, having prosecuted, in 2021, “antisemitic” and other “unapproved” online posts and the like, posted by dissidents: Alison Chabloz, Graham Hart, “Sven Longshanks”, as well as many others.

A problem of comprehension
Earlier in the week, my car needed AA assistance. It did not break down, but the fuel flap locked itself, meaning no fuel could be put into the otherwise unlocked tank. I was at a filling station when I discovered the problem. A silly problem but —short of forcing the flap open— insoluble for me.
I am an AA member. Whether that is cost-effective is arguable. The last time I had called them out to assist was about 3 years before. £13+ pcm for three years is about £450, but when you are stuck somewhere in the evening, with no fuel left…
It took 20 minutes or more just to get through to an operator. When I did, I was told that arrival of assistance would be about 2 hours! In fact, it was less than 1 hour.
The AA patrolman, the (to me) oddly-named Wayne, was both polite and efficient. He had to take out interior panels and remove a solenoid (whatever that is), but that fixed the problem. Job done. Excellent.
I later thought that I would leave a favourable mention for the patrolman on the AA feedback system. Too few people commend good service. So I left that favourable feedback, while mentioning that the overall wait for assistance had been fairly long.
To my surprise, someone at the AA thought that my comments constituted a complaint, when in fact I had meant to be favourable. I was told by email that the AA would compensate me to the tune of £10, but the next paragraph said that a cheque for £20 would be issued.
I replied, thanking the AA but clarifying that I was not complaining as such but wishing to commend the patrolman, despite the wait.
The upshot? A cheque for £30 has arrived! I had not asked for money, but thank you…
The AA is still a pretty useful organization.
What interests me, though, is the apparent lack of comprehension. I was not making complaint, certainly not formally.
This is a trend that I see on Twitter, in the msm etc. One example would be the person (and there are many such) whose Twitter headline says “free speech” and “civil rights” but who actually wants to repress the speech with which that person disagrees…Another example, even more common, the people who say that they support caring, love, openness, but then tweet (about those with whom they disagree) that they are evil and should be locked up forever!
I saw one of the latter retweeting a recent tweet of the malicious “CAA” Jew-Zionist “charity” about Alison Chabloz. This retweeter, apparently a former nurse and matron, said that Alison is “scum” and that she should be locked up and the key thrown away! For making up songs and satire, and taking part in Internet “radio” discussions! A little research discovered that the same retweeter is apparently suffering from a possibly terminal and very unpleasant medical condition which may have affected her mind. That too is all too common on Twitter.
There again, there are the many who imagine that the UK can take millions, tens of millions, of migrant-invader immigrants (many of which are totally useless) and yet still offer a wraparound welfare state!
…and most of the self-describing “Left”, “socialist”, “civil rights” fakes on Twitter will openly or covertly applaud such actions of the police state in Australia or elsewhere…
The Jewish woman refuses to address the points that 1. the UK now produces only 1% of “global emissions” (if that), and 2. the real ecological threat to this planet is the fact that the population is now 8 billion, of which the vast majority are non-European (in fact, nearly half of the world population is in only four countries: China/India/Pakistan/Bangladesh).
So will the new multikulti Australian police state ban cars (they kill people), sugared soft drinks (they kill people), processed foods (they kill people), cigarettes (they kill people), alcohol (that kills people), and non-European immigrants (they kill people) etc? No?
What nonsense it all is! The Australian police state had and has some of the strictest “lockdowns”, facemask nonsense, vaccine compulsion, “Covid passport” nonsense, “test and trace” nonsense, quarantine nonsense. Yet there they are, these petty tyrants, now imposing an even harsher regime.
Australians (the sort from Anglo background), are rather like the British— they don’t care whether their country goes to ratshit so long as they can watch on TV something labelled a “national” team win a cricket, rugby, athletics, or whatever competition somewhere or other.
The latest news I have heard from my own Australian connections is that Australians now outside Australia in countries such as the UK will not only have to pay huge amounts just to get back (my niece just paid £2,000, and I think that is in Economy class!), not only have to pay for weeks of imprisonment (sub nom “quarantine”), and regardless of whether vaccinated etc, but also will not be allowed to leave Australia later!
Sovietism meets the biosecurity state in…Australia. Who’d have thought it?

It will be recalled that persecuted singer, songwriter and satirist, Alison Chabloz, was sent to prison for lampooning Jewish and Zionist pretensions, and discussing related matters etc on an Internet radio podcast. She ended up doing 2 months in prison (of a notional 18 week sentence).
Tomorrow, 12 August 2021, Alison Chabloz will be at Southwark Crown Court to attend her appeal against her conviction and sentence (handed down at Westminster Mags.).
I had thought that the appeal would take the form of a full rehearing, but it seems that Alison and/or her legal advisers have decided to limit the appeal to certain legal points. This would mean that, while the Court has discretion, should the appeal fail, to impose an even greater sentence (to 6 months max) than the 18 weeks originally imposed, such a course would be unlikely to be taken.
In any case, even were the Court to impose a maximum 6-month sentence, that in reality would mean three months (if that), and Alison has already served two.
I shall post the result as and when I am aware of it. In the meantime, I wish Alison Chabloz good fortune in her appeal.

Stephen Fry, of course, ticks many of the System boxes: mixed English and foreign part-Jew origins, gay, pro-mass immigration (migration invasion), “antifascist” etc. Like “Boris”, perhaps not quite the amiable persona he projects. I knew someone who met Stephen Fry about 30 years ago at a wedding. My friend was amazed at how extreme (in his words “Left-wing”) Fry was.
Still, most people are (ethically, philosophically) “black and white mixed, like the magpie’s plumage” [Wolfram von Eschenbach, Parzival], and Fry is no exception to that; he is not all bad (e.g. is a supporter of animal welfare).

Late tweet
I’ve spent the day with a highly respected, nationally renowned paediatric colleague from London. Her hospitals are absolutely NOT full of seriously ill children with COVID. They’re full of children with a wide assortment of other illnesses, including other viral illnesses.
Animal testing could be phased out, with scientists told to carry out experiments on lab-grown organs instead, The Telegraph can reveal.https://t.co/vtEYYsm5QK
Strange, nicht wahr? A virus suddenly appears “from nowhere” and is said to have suddenly manifested at a “wet market” of live and dead wild and domesticated animals in the large city of Wuhan, in China. There just happens to be a Chinese biological and virus research laboratory there. It also just happens that the USA and possibly Israel are involved and/or have given large amounts of funding to that laboratory.
More: the Chinese scientists and doctors who did not stick with the approved narrative about the appearance of “Covid-19” have all disappeared.
More: the virus manifested in Wuhan, yes, but then suddenly appeared in Alpine resorts in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the very places from where it could spread most rapidly across Western Europe.
Was it an accident that the virus suddenly moved from Wuhan to the Alps?
From an ordinary perspective, that might be true, but in terms of NWO/ZOG, the “Great Reset” etc, from the point of view of the ruling circles of the West, the WTO, the Bilderbergers etc, there might well be a good reason to spread not only a dangerous virus (albeit not quite as dangerous as presented) but also fear across the world.
As soon as the news of the (supposedly) deadly and world-shattering virus was headlined in the UK, several (fictional) films about viruses were shown on different channels, for several nights running. This was not in response to the news about “Coronavirus” but had been in the schedules for weeks or even months. How did that happen? Accident? Co-incidence? Synchronicity? Or was it conspiracy? Was it all planned?
“On 16 May 2016, Dearlove gave a public lecture televised by the BBC on contemporary mass foreign migration and its effects upon the European continent.
In its text he stated that the governments of Europe were facing a “sea change” in their politics, and if they did not get control and prevent ongoing mass migration of peoples from Africa and Asia into Europe they would find themselves “at the mercy of a populist uprising, … which is already stirring,” and that the oncoming 2016 United Kingdom European Union membership referendum was the first manifestation of it.[26]
He stated further that foreign mass migration’s geopolitical impact upon Europe, if it was not prevented, was set to reshape its political landscape as those of its citizens who feel their interests are threatened asserted their influence.”
The ruling circles of the West (aka “the international conspiracy/consensus”, or “the System”) preferred the UK to remain part of the EU, because they think in terms of blocs of power. The EU controlled the UK and the other nations of Europe and was tightening that control. Having said that, a managed, controlled Brexit did not seriously threaten that matrix, because it just pulled the UK closer to the equally NWO/ZOG USA. They win either way. That’s their thinking.
Good grief! “Becca Hutson”? Who she? An ignorant and stupid woman, obviously. She seems to imagine that, for example, the “resources” taken out of the ground in, say, Africa, should have been left there (where the natives knew not even of their existence, let alone what to do with them).
Ah. This is her: https://www.gbnews.uk/bio/rebecca-hutson. She is “Head of Digital” apparently, for that doomed “alt-right” GB News channel. I have never watched it, and from what I have seen on Twitter, shall never bother. Will it even exist this time next year? Doubtful.
As for Ms. Hutson, despite the English accent, she is a US citizen, it seems, and born in the USA in 1993. Educated partly in UK (at a Cambridge sixth form college, then at University of Bristol). At time of writing, 28 years old.
So let me get this straight in my head, I can have Aids, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Ebola, Hepatitis, Meningitis and conjunctivitis.. and I can eat in a restaurant and go to the pub.. but if I haven't had a vaccine for covid-19 (aka nasty cold virus) … I'm barred.
SAGE? I say DUMB (Department Under Matt and Boris) though “Matt” (Hancock) is, of course, now yesterday’s news. Talking of scandal, does “Professor Lockdown” (Professor Neil Ferguson) wear a facemask when having it off with his married “ho”? I doubt it.
The “panicdemic” meant that “Nightingale” hospitals were quickly established. All very impressive (in TV news releases), but most were never even used.
I remember going to Macao for the afternoon when I visited Hong Kong 15 years ago (2006). On my return to HK by hydrofoil, white-coated medics awaited. Notices informed me that, should my temperature (taken from a distance while walking through) be high, I would be detained without the option. It was a warm day…thankfully, it seems that, though I felt warm, I was not too warm! Glad to get through, and not be bundled away to God knows where. Is that coming here too?

Hitchens must ask why “undemocratic” ideas are gaining in popularity. It is because “democracy”, both in the UK and elsewhere (France, USA etc), is not delivering.
I've got an amazing idea to deal with crime and stabbings and street thugs. Let's find physically imposing men, over 5'11 tall, teach them the basics of law and how to handle themselves, and have them walk routes around cities every day deterring crime.
What do you have to lose @not_humphrey? Mass abstention is the only serious power individuals have. Governments and parties have no legitimacy if nobody votes for them. So why, if we dislike them as much as we say, do we give them that legitimacy? https://t.co/cxsGavgwrL
Hitchens sometimes lives in the ivory tower. Yes, abstaining from voting may deprive a political party from having “legitimacy” (so long as everyone abstains) but that would not, even in that extreme scenario, deprive that party from having and exercising power, at least not so long as one voter votes, or a small number vote. In the end, a corrupt electoral system can either be reformed by the reasoned consent of the ruling cliques (as in the UK in the 1830s, with the Reform Acts et seq.) or, failing that, by physical overthrow…
It did not take Twitter long to wake up to the persistent and malicious “reporting” and denouncing (to Twitter, to professional regulatory bodies, to police etc) by the “CAA” goblins, once it saw them at close quarters…
Exactly. Just as happened months ago to my mother-in-law, who was routinely and frequently tested when in hospital with a fracture, and then found (assuming that the test was accurate) to have “the virus” after she had been in the hospital for weeks. No symptoms, either before the test or after it. She was eventually discharged, never having had any symptoms. Her age at the time? 99! Oh, and had she died (from any cause) within 28 days of discharge, she too would have “died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test” and would have been pressed into service as part of the statistical scam around the “panicdemic”.
Talking about the “panicdemic”, I visited a Tesco supermarket today, about 6 miles from my home. Most of the shoppers were “rabbits” (masked serfs), but there was a sizeable minority (including me) maskless. No-one (whether “rabbit” or Tesco staff) said a word to me in criticism, though I saw that Tesco employees almost all were muzzled (with completely pointless, useless, cloth masks). Probably told by managers to wear them.
Slovakia and Czech Republic locked down early and hard and were the first in Europe to mandate masks but ended up with some of the highest deaths per capita attributed to covid. It just happened later .All data from https://t.co/nQMoPmnYA1pic.twitter.com/gmfIIb3Ym0
@borisjohnson. Al, a basic fact about crime. What people want most of all is not to be a victim of crime in the first place. Police cannot unmug, unburgle, unstab, unfrighten those who have been the targets of crime. Their job is to prevent. They have stopped doing it. Fix that. https://t.co/50ZV4vtoB7
Well, I once again triumphed over John Rentoul, who only scored 3/10 this week. I always commend his honesty, though. I myself scored 6/10 this week. I did not know the answers to questions 1, 2, 6, and 9.
Ha ha! “Unusually“?! What about, just off the top of my head, “Boris”, Theresa May, David Cameron-Levita, Trump, George W. Bush, James Callaghan, Sarkozy, Yeltsin, Gorbachev, Honecker? Etc… The list is long.
Labour is going nowhere. The next two by-elections (Chesham and Amersham on 17 June 2021, and Batley and Spen on 1 July 2021), should give an idea of the state of play. At present, I am inclined to think that Batley will fall to the Conservatives, and that Chesham and Amersham will result in a Conservative win, and with a Labour lost deposit (maybe).
Football fans won't shut up about it, but how excited is the wider population about #EURO2020 ?
Boris Johnson has said that Joe Biden is "actively engaged" in resolving the row over Anne Sacoolas, who fled the UK after a car crash which killed Harry Dunn
About one and a quarter million acres of private gardens exist in the UK. A crucial reservoir and sanctuary for animals, birds, insects, trees and bushes. These often-modest private spaces are a very important environmental element.

That Harwood person seems to be a component of the fake political-cultural debate, there to give the illusion of pseudo-national “takeback”. If you like, the mirror image of Owen Jones (as fake “revolutionary” scribbler), or a more mainstream “Prison Planet” Watson.
Many people are still fooled by the “panicdemic”, which is in a way unsurprising, after nearly a year and a half of truly relentless msm propaganda across the world. All the same, there are many people who can see that the virus scare has been weaponized for other purposes.
No masks, no social distancing, no quarantine before.…. They’ve all come in from other countries.

"[We are] destroying our ancient edifices to make ready the ground upon which the barbarian nomads of the future will encamp in their mechanised caravans."
I like the bit “do you know how hard it is [to say a few glib words on TV]?”…! These msm idiots are so up their own rear ends, it is not true! Some local TV news talking head marionette in Birmingham.
“In 1915 Feinberg traveled to Egypt and made contact with the British Department of Naval Intelligence. In 1917, he again went to Egypt, on foot. He was apparently killed on his way back by a group of Bedouins near the British front in Sinai, close to Rafah.[3] His fate was unknown until after the 1967 Six-Day War, when his remains were found under a palm tree that had grown from date seeds in his pocket.” [Wikipedia].
How about that?! “…his remains were found under a palm tree that had grown from date seeds in his pocket.“
Well, now that the said Feinberg is apparently an Israeli hero-figure (they even have a stamp with his head on it), the suspicion must be that the bit about the palm tree and the date seeds is some kind of fairy tale. Still, it may well be true. These things happen.
I have not included the above in my blog to make any political or other point; it just struck me as interesting. Still, one could reflect on how one never knows how one’s actions may, long after one’s own death, bear unexpected fruit (in the case of Feinberg, literally, of course).
Israeli elections
Readers of my blog will know that I am usually cautious about commenting about the political situation in countries with which I am not directly familiar (even Scotland), but idly browsing Wikipedia while listening to BBC World Service, I heard about the electoral impasse in Israel. I looked up the state of play on Wikipedia:
It seems that there 120 elected members. What is extraordinary is that Israeli politics is so fragmented that the party presently ruling, Likud [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Likud], has only 30 members out of that 120. Indeed, the whole minority government coalition headed by Likud only has 54 members.
The second-largest party in the Knesset, Yesh Atid [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yesh_Atid] has only 17 Knesset members. The next-largest party has 9. In fact, there are no less than 23 parties and Independent members represented, grouped into 13 factions.
[Update, 31 August 2024: state of play as of date of update—
…Likud now has 32 seats].
Compare that to the much larger UK House of Commons, where there are 16 parties and Independents but where, out of 650 MPs, 562 belong to only two of those parties.
Why is the Israeli parliament so fragmented? It may be that there is something in the Jewish psychology that tends to dissension, dissidence etc. That was certainly true of the various Marxist factions that used to exist in the Western world, especially in the realms of Trotskyism.
There again, the Israeli proportional representation system has a low threshold for representation: 3.25% (it was 1% at one time). In fact, there has never been a one-party-majority government in Israel.
Another aspect yet is that most of those parties were started not long ago. The main Opposition party, Yesh Atid, was only formed in 2012. Several others were formed even more recently, in the past two or three years. Likud, the presently largest party, was founded in 1973.
Well, there it is. A peculiar country. Interesting though. I am interested generally in countries which are contrived or artificial, as Israel surely is. Singapore would be another example. They tend to be small geographically; Israel is almost exactly the size of Wales (or New Jersey), while Singapore is not even twice the size of the Isle of Wight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singapore.
Farm subsidies
Listening to some typical farm-owner whining on BBC Radio 4 Today Programme. Farmers in the UK always want it both ways, to be treated as independent businessmen and women, but given State subsidy or support at the same time. For me, it just does not wash.
One farmer had the right sort of ideas about small-scale farming, biodiversity, organics etc, yet wanted public money, in effect for not being an environmental vandal. Why should the public subsidize farmers at all? Better to impose environmental and animal welfare regulations, restrict imports, and let the farms be real private “businesses”. Alternatively, to put them largely into State ownership but give environment-friendly farmers or collectives long-term (even lifetime) leases.

Stop the so-called 'trials' of e-scooters. Anybody with any sense can see that there's no good case for them (they're not green, they stop people taking badly-needed exercise, they're a dangerous nuisance) , and that they will increase the sum of human misery. Yes @michaelrosenyes. But I loathe their habit of referring to institutions by the names of their very different modern successors. I went to the Oxford College of Further Education, known to all as the Cowley Road Tech. https://t.co/wBp8RnBJJW
Soon, there will be the Batley and Spen by-election. I shall be blogging about it in a week or so. The Labour Party vote has suffered a gradual decline in that constituency since the rigged by-election in 2016. After the assassination of Jo Cox, the System parties conspired to get another Labour Party MP elected, so an ex-soap actress was parachuted in, and the Conservative and LibDem parties did not stand. Pathetically, “controlled opposition” UKIP also failed to put up a candidate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batley_and_Spen_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2010s.
Now Labour is relying, in the Batley by-election, on a kind of “sympathy vote” by putting up the sister of that assassinated MP. Pretty desperate…
Lisa Shaw, a healthy 44 year old woman, had zero chance of dying from covid.
It is therefore ironic that a vaccine deployed against a virus with a 99.97% survival rate killed her.
Believing in UK government covid propaganda has its consequences.

Memory Lane triggered
More memories were triggered when I saw that my one-time home, a house of which I had a lease in the years 2002-2004, has come up for sale for the first time in 55 years: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/105899483#/
I suppose that I could buy it, and its surrounding small estate, were I not short of about £7 million!
I have to say that the estate agents have had the place photographed beautifully:
Funny to think that my present humble home would fit twice, I suppose, maybe even thrice, into the ballroom alone.
Looking idly at the estate agents’particulars, it is clear that there have been changes since I lived there. For one thing, even the main house has been split into no less than 17 flats! I see, also, that two wind turbines now exist somewhere beyond sight of the house.
106 acres. My own lease included only the main house, with 4 acres of gardens, ornamental ponds and Victorian grottoes.
The person who owns or owned the house was the son of the farmer who bought it in 1966 for the land; the farming family never lived there (I think) but built a modern house halfway down the mile-long drive.
I think that at that time far more land surrounded the house, and I was told that, in its pre-First World War heyday, there was an estate of 5,000 acres. Maybe.
I was told when I lived there that the sale price in 1965 was £65,000…but I have now seen an interview which puts the 1965 auction sale price at only £21,500!
The person who owned the house when I lived there was a bit of a scoundrel, locally notorious. His idea (I heard) after my time there ended, was to maximize revenue via splitting up the main house into different rented units. There were already “hippies” living in the stables when I was there.
The man who owned the house prior to 1966 was an apparently very nice man called Leslie Major, whose father had owned the house before him, and who also owned the mill at Lifton, Devon (a few miles away across the Tamar), and which is still a food plant, now owned by Purina.
Mr. Major founded the Devon Bird-Watching and Preservation Society, and wrote on daffodil growing. In the 1930s, he also raced cars.
I could write a possibly amusing memoir of my time there. Such as? Well, such as the time that it turned out that the “hippies” from the old stables were running a cannabis farm in the attics and, to disguise any interest by the authorities in the electricity used to keep the temperature high, had put an enormous tropical snake in there!
I was told that by the owner one day, after he discovered the “farm” and told them to get rid of the lot (cannabis plantation and snake!). He was a scoundrel of sorts, but more someone who sailed close to the wind rather than an out-and-out villain, and pleasant enough to talk to. A rural Arthur Daley, if you like.
In fact, long after I left, the hippies or others tried it again, as I read in an online local newspaper, I think around 2010. The police raided the place and made arrests, apparently…
In fact, I heard that some “businessman” (who turned out to be a drug dealer) took on the lease, or rented the house, some time after I left. His dead body was found in the drawing room, or so I heard. For the full Agatha Christie effect, of course, it should have been the Library!
[the Library when I had the lease of the house; some of my books]
I imagine that it will be hard to sell (except to someone wanting the revenue stream from rentals of the various houses, cottages and flats). To reconvert the main house would, I am guessing, be rather expensive.

At one time, in the UK, there were real journalists. They had opinions. They sometimes expressed them. They still, however, reported the news. Now? Politically-correct semi-literates and/or Jewish Zionists. There are a few exceptions (mostly sidelined or not much broadcast or printed). The others form a kind of ZOG-oriented cabal, which does not just include political journalists (most of them), but extends more widely, even beyond the news media, to the wider msm: commentators, even comedians and TV presenters. A corrupt, decadent, and largely self-serving cabal who work to a spoken or unspoken agenda.

I can't see why @brendanquantock, given that Tory voters and donors have swallowed the transformation of the Tories into a Eurocommunist outfit without a protest. https://t.co/24ldtghuSD
It's very difficult @rootnoob . Even the story or Marple's moonlight flit from the country is quite hard to find. Someone needs to write a book. https://t.co/czymCZGayP
The closure of the majority of the UK’s railway system was indeed scandalous. Beeching and Marples were and remain the obvious villains, but there were widespread closures even before that, both from 1945-1965 and in the interwar period 1918-1939. Indeed, railways were closed even before the First World War. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beeching_cuts.
In the United States, the decision was made to keep the tracks even where railways were closed. A strategic defence decision. How much better off would Britain have been had it too done that! New, high-tech rail (ultralight, robotic etc) might have used the same track, or relaid track. Instead, rail lines were taken up and the land, in many cases, built upon.
“Data not dates, the Prime Minister famously said when he announced our ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown. It turns out that there was no road out and no map.
In truth, Government policy is now being driven by nothing more sophisticated than a deranged dogma.
It is dogma of the worst sort, for it is shaped by political cowardice and burnished by discredited scientific advisers who no longer seem capable of reviewing the evidence in front of them.” [Daily Mail]
Boris Idiot
I wrote, before “Boris” was “elected” as Conservative Party leader, that it really did not matter what unpleasant acts emerged about him. He was already known to be a moneygrubber, an incompetent, a constant liar, completely unable to actually run anything, as well as being part-Jew, part-Turk, and rather nasty altogether. So what new scandal could destabilize him?
“Boris” had (and has) weaponized his incompetence and lack of ability. No-one really expects even basic decency from him, let alone integrity, still less the ability to properly fulfil his office. That lack of any public expectation is like a suit of armour for him.
In any case, the Labour Party is now considered so useless by the white British that nothing short of a “nuclear”-level scandal would push them beyond the Conservative Party. Is the present kefuffle that? Probably not.
