A poor week for me, in that I was beaten by political journalist John Rentoul, who only scores higher than me in about one in twenty such quizzes; he scored 7/10, whereas I scored only 6/10. I did not know the answers to questions 7, 8, 9, and 10 (and I admit that I guessed no.5, though it was sort-of an educated guess).

8/ As latest ONS data showed net migration to the UK reached 606,000 last year, we asked people if there should there be more or less migration to the UK?
⬇️ 49% less migration ⬆️ 10% more migration 🔄 27% the same amount 🤷 13% don’t know
Re. that second poll, for me it means that 10% of the UK population are direct enemies of our country and people, that 27% are non-Brits and/or enemies and/or completely stupid, that 13% are stupid or totally unaware or blind to what is happening all around them, but that about 49% or 50%, half of the entire population, are aware and perhaps angry. What matters, though, is just how angry.
3/ The battle for “Best Prime Minister” is tighter than a pair of ill-fitting Speedos, as Sir Keir Starmer maintains a narrow four-point lead over Rishi according to our latest poll:

…and the present Waitrose situation is by reason of “a massive IT failure” at their head office in Bracknell (i.e. nothing to do with Brexit), or so I overheard this morning when getting a few “necessary” items (lottery tickets, kefir, pineapple juice, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean antipasti, Charentes croissants etc). Waitrose gave me a £5 voucher for next time.
I have noticed, in the past couple of years especially, a general lessening of choice, though, but not only at Waitrose. To my mind, UK supermarkets actually had a better selection of goods in 1988…
The System was pushing hard for David Miliband in 2010. A complete System drone, who failed to take over the Labour Party, and then went to the USA thereafter to make a very large salary (now over USD $1M a year) to head “International Rescue”, an NGO with assets of hundreds of millions of dollars: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Rescue_Committee#Finances.

“Membership in the Trilateral Commission is highly selective and by invitation only; as of 2021, there were roughly 400 members, including leading figures in politics, business, media, and academia. Each country within the three regions is assigned a quota of members reflecting its relative political and economic strength. The organization represents influential commercial and political interests that share a commitment to private enterprise and trade, multilateralism, and global governance; this has subjected it to criticism for elitism.”

Looking at Twitter today in relation to mass immigration and the migration-invasion, it struck me just how many outright traitors and enemies there are in this country. Twitter is of course perverse, and is far worse than the country as a whole. Still, down the road, harsh measures will be inevitable.

It is not, for me, a question of “hating” non-whites, but of providing a platform for the evolution of consciousness, for the eventual development of what might be called a “super-race”, in the sense of a people whose capacities would be seen by us, today, as “superhuman”.
Only the European people, speaking ethnically, can provide that platform and foundation for the later development. That is why we must oppose importation of non-whites into Europe, not because we “hate” them as such but because, primarily, their presence in Europe makes more likely a mixed-race population, which would make further evolution impossible.
I have been proposing the creation of such a community-web for many years. You can find my ideas about this using the search box on this blog, under “safe zones“.

As I have blogged previously many times, we are here looking at an attempt to capture the global Zeitgeist in the years 2022-2055.
You can easily see how much the world has changed, and mostly not for the better, in the ~18 months since 2021. 2022 was a turnkey year, as were, in the past, 1989, 1956, 1923 etc.
Such attempts by the so-called “Wise Men of the West” are not always completely successful, but they press forward with their materializing agenda regardless.

Western intelligence is confident that the protracted nature of the war in Ukraine will allow Russia to achieve its goals, which means it is necessary to change the approach.
Look at Ukraine under Zelensky’s regime— no economy left, except for harvesting grain and potato, pensions and State employees only getting paid because the West, mainly USA, is squeezing its own taxpayers for this garbage. “Ukraine” only has arms and ammunition because NATO states and others are funnelling them to Kiev free of charge. The Zelensky regime has shot or arrested opponents and dissidents, closed down trade unions and critical newspapers. The UK police, many of them, are far more interested in doing fake “communitarian” things than doing their proper job, “proper job” meaning deterring or investigating those old boring crimes such as murder, other offences against the person, crimes of acquisition etc.
No, all too many of them have embraced all too readily their new role of being the militia of a toytown “woke” police state, and a poundland KGB, snooping on tweets and other online material (whether they understand that material or not). Still, what goes around comes around, in the end…
The above clip is a typical example. The police in question are chatting about (?) football or (?) Eurovision, and are ignoring the unlawful blocking of the road… until their chat is interrupted. Then they take action, but against a victim of the malicious little pseudo-eco mob, not the mob itself!
Sometimes you can just see what may well happen not far down the road, and if the police fail —continue to fail— to stand with the British people, they themselves will fall victim.

Many very silly people think that the Suffragettes [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suffragette] were justified in their “direct action” programme, a kind of low-level “terrorism”, because without it, women would never have been granted the vote. The only thing about that, though, is that it is not true.
Women all over the world gained the vote in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, almost all without violent protest. Indeed, the Suffragists in the UK were on that same road: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Women%27s_suffrage.
As to whether “the vote” really is useful, in 2023, that is a debate for some other time.
Still, she and her sister, and the husbands of both, have a “nice little earner” going on: both sisters are “Labour” MPs, and the sister is married to yet another Labour MP, while Rachel Reeves’ husband is also well-embedded in the present System: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Joicey.

Very true. So many people are misled by that kind of “Mrs Thatcher housewife’s shopping basket” economics. One would have thought that John Rentoul would know better, or is he just (as in days of Blair) parrotting the “centrist” Labour Party line?
As a former barrister (wrongfully and unlawfully disbarred in 2016 and not in actual Bar practice since 2008), I have applied a little thought to such questions.
My view is that sentencing has become absurd in the UK. While many defendants are certainly not given sufficient —or any— time in incarceration, despite having been convicted of very unpleasant offences, including crimes of very considerable violence, there is at the same time routine over-sentencing.
Many defendants are sentenced to, say, 5 years (for whatever), when 4 or 3 would be more than adequate (and, in terms of actual punishment, about the same).
At the same time, there are quite a few people incarcerated for no good reason at all, as in the recent free speech case of “Sven Longshanks” (James Allchurch), sentenced to 2.5 years for supposedly “inciting racial hatred” (he was convicted on 10 out of 15 charges). He will be in prison, probably, until 2024. Political “crime” in our “free country” (as was).
I am not going to do an entire study of this one, but take a look at the Wikipedia entry: mixed Indian heritage; failed, at an early stage, to continue with a law degree, despite having been, in part, privately educated; seems to be a lesbian or something similar; “elected” (selected) as MP at age 23; took “several months” off from her MP duties in 2021; “celebrated” the attacks on statues of English historical figures.

Russian Foreign Ministry: Moscow will take into account, among its plans, the West's intention to supply Ukraine with F-16 aircraft
If it turns out that the Russian air force or ground forces cannot deal with the increasing influx of sophisticated weapons systems being supplied to the Kiev regime, the end result may be that the Russian leadership will decide to destroy both the bases of those aircraft and also any nearby urban areas.

What always strikes me about the Israeli police response to any incident is how swift it is. Not one, but several, and often many, police, security agents, soldiers etc are on the scene quickly, usually in seconds, at least in the Old City of Jerusalem or in the central parts of Tel Aviv. Reminiscent of the quick reaction of the militia in Moscow in Soviet times, if there were any sort of public disorder. The Israelis must have huge numbers of police personnel.

In a well-known and probably (?) apocryphal saying, Lenin is supposed to have opined that “in order to destroy a nation, first destroy its currency“. I suppose that he could not have foreseen the possibility that a nation’s integrity, credibility, and soul could be destroyed by migration-invasion, an invasion not through feat of arms, but through the moral weakness and/or self-hate of the people of the invaded country itself (whipped up, as usual, by “them”, the “you know who” element). He would not have believed it possible.

All over the world, we see huge enterprises (or their advertising agencies) hitting one “woke” button after another. In this case, two— “trans” nonsense and the “blacks with everything” campaign of fake “diversity”.
One sees calls to boycott the companies involved, or to “hit them in the wallet“. However, those calls miss the point, because the individuals and cabals behind the brainwashing do not care whether the companies concerned lose money or customers over these outrages.
Think of the finance-capitalist companies involved as merely shells, to be used as convenient for the long-term purposes of the real powers behind the System. “Black Lives Matter”, “refugees welcome” “Covid”, “climate change”, “Ukraine” etc are just some of the “causes” used to further wider objectives connected with the world-history 33-year cycle (in this case, 2022-2055).

Xi Jinping unveils ambitious development plan for Central Asia
The Chinese leader spoke at the China-Central Asia summit in Xi'an, Reuters writes. The forum was also attended by the presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.
The “presidents” of the Central Asian joke-states —I myself lived in Kazakhstan 1996-1997— may feel themselves big fish in their small ponds (small in most ways except geographically), but a large shark is about to invite them to lunch, and they will be the lunch.

Politics overheard
I happened to be in the local Waitrose not long after it opened. Heard a brief conversation between a cashier (about 60 y o) and a customer (about the same, or older— the area is demographically weighted heavily in favour of middleaged and elderly people).
The first topic (that I heard), after agreeing that “nothing works any more“, was the recent local elections. Both agreed that they had received no literature from “any of the three parties” (the area is almost exclusively Conservative in terms of local and central government; Labour usually comes third or, not infrequently, fourth). Both also complained that no-one had knocked on their doors (for me, that is a very good thing—F.O.!), and that, in any case, “all three parties” were saying the same thing, and none could be trusted to carry out whatever they said anyway.
You would think that all of that boded well for any new social-national party, but the “three main parties” scam is deeply deeply entrenched, ingrained like brainwashing in the minds of the people. Despite the crying need for a new movement, the mental leap required of the mass of the people to vote for one, let alone join one, is enormous. There is the additional fact that no credible social-national party or movement exists in the UK.
Political success and failure
Anyone worried about AI taking over….it already has! Beth Rigby gives him a chance to be human and should a bit of disappointment. Instead he answers any question by parroting his 5 priorities like a malfunctioning robot. https://t.co/sbkVnjOWGz
Real political leaders have usually “failed” at more than they have “succeeded”, and of course the biggest cliche about that is that “all political careers end in failure“.
Hitler failed at secondary school, failed to get into art school, failed to get into architecture school, failed to become an independent artist, was not promoted in the WW1 German Army beyond corporal, joined a tiny group of “extremists” in 1919, failed to become much more than a political joke for the 10 years 1919-1929, but then burst onto the national and international stage as destined leader of Germany, achieving huge successes for 6 years of that peaceful rebirth of a nation. After a few more years of success in war, the tragic failures of 1943-45, and a tragic death.
Churchill too. Born with a “silver spoon”, yet a failure at school (Harrow, where his application was nearly rejected). Churchill only gained admittance to Sandhurst at the third attempt, then was allocated a place in one of the least cerebral parts of the Army, the cavalry.
Churchill’s 4-5 years as an officer (mostly spent as journalist rather than soldier, though he saw action in the Sudan and South Africa and, much later, in WW1 Belgium) were crowned with a single promotion, to lieutenant in his younger years, though much later to —temporary— Lt. Col. in 1916, reduced to major when he withdrew from active service after only 4 months.
Churchill’s political life was likewise chequered. He defected, re-defected, lost and won seats. Famously, the lost election of 1945, then a muted victory in 1951.
As strategist, Churchill was a disaster in both world wars: Gallipoli, Singapore, Norway, Greece, North Africa (at first), the Italian campaign etc. His “success” in WW2 was of course by reason of the participation of the USA and Soviet Union. That had its price(s): the slow dismantling of the British Empire, the gradual subservience of the UK to the USA both in WW2 and after 1945, the condemnation of much of Central and Eastern Europe to live under Soviet or Soviet-influenced socialism for 40-45 years.
Abraham Lincoln too. A litany of failed attempts to be elected to a number of offices, but crowned ultimately with election to the highest office, President of the United States. His assassination while still in office followed on the heels of his victory in the American Civil War.
Those three examples show the difficulty of assessing political success and failure. In the end, all three have gone “beyond success and failure” by becoming world-historic figures who will be remembered as such for as long as, say, Julius Caesar or others will be remembered.
As for Indian money-juggler Sunak, he is not and never will be in the same league as Hitler, Churchill, or Lincoln. Eminently forgettable. In fact, he will leave scarcely more of a ripple on the surface than Liz Truss or Theresa May.
Beth Rigby is easily impressed. So what if Sunak was Head Boy at his bloody school (Winchester)? As for his having made a gigantic amount of money by having worked for the Goldman Sachs vultures, and then having married into a mega-wealthy Indian family, well, such things happen. “Success”?
Meanwhile, Britain is visibly falling to pieces.

Eastern Europe will be the leader in population decline: the population of Moldova and Bulgaria will decrease by more than half, Bosnia and Herzegovina – by almost half (by 48.9%).
Outside Eastern Europe, significant population declines are expected in China, Japan and South Korea.”

I never listened to the podcast in question, mainly because I have no patience with long discussions which (arguably) lead nowhere, but whatever he and his guests said, there was no real reason to censor him, let alone to imprison him. Now, unless there is any successful appeal on conviction or sentence, he will be actually incarcerated for well over a year.
The case of “Sven Longshanks” does not stand alone. It is part of a whole campaign being waged —mainly— by the Jewish/Zionist lobby in the UK.
“Lawfare”.
Internet “radio” podcasts seem to be a major, perhaps the major, target. There have been a number of podcasters prosecuted and even imprisoned over the past couple of years.
Strange to think that Britain used to be known as almost the home and centre of freedom of expression in the world, along with the USA and the British white dominions.
I hope that “Sven Longshanks” has friends or comrades who will assist him while he is incarcerated, send him money via the official mechanism, and keep in communication with him. We should always support “the men behind the wire”.
Funny. The old woman is a nuisance on the one hand, but on the other hand someone who is keeping her immediate neighbourhood safe, rather like the volunteers in parts of the socialist world before 1989 (and, indeed, in National Socialist Germany in the 1930s and early 1940s).
[badge of a “Druzhinnik”, a Soviet local law-and-order volunteer]
As a matter of fact, if that old woman lived near me, I might have avoided having one wheel (yes, I too am puzzled) stolen from my car in the middle of the night not so long ago, a theft which the police not only failed to prevent or “detect” (despite evidential material existing) but also in which they had very little interest at all. In a word, useless.
That video clip reminds me of a personal reminiscence, from a time when the police were possibly more numerous and certainly more effective.
In the early 1980s, my then girlfriend drove (with me as passenger) from London to Reigate, Surrey, where my parents lived. Her vehicle was an ex-Post Office van, a Ford Transit with side windows, which she intended (never happened) to turn into a camper van for herself and her small children. It was part-yellow, part-red-brown, having been half-painted over by the previous owner. It looked rather scruffy, to be honest.
While the van was parked outside my parents’ house, on a driveway visible from the local road, there was a ring at the door. My mother went to the door. A polite, smart-looking young policeman was there, uniformed and wearing a cap. Incidentally, no beard or visible tattoos, unlike some of the scruffy police you see today. His police car was outside in the road.
My girlfriend cowered behind a pillar (thinking that she had probably done something wrong with the van) as the policeman explained to my mother that the reason why he was inquiring was “because that vehicle does not seem to fit the neighbourhood“! By today’s standards, incredible. I doubt that it would happen these days, anywhere in the UK. Surrey Police, then, was a very efficient force. Almost a Swiss level of efficiency (and curiosity).
Not only fear, but people are imperfect— that is where law, or prevention, comes in.

“Labour, as we know from the blurted revelations of the Blairite functionary Andrew Neather, actually wanted to change the character of the country. The Tories wanted lots of cheap labour, and didn’t care if it changed the country. The policy continues. I doubt that the latest law on migration will make much difference.
Lord Green of Deddington – a measured former diplomat who deals in hard fact – mordantly pointed this out during last Thursday’s debate in the House of Lords. He said: ‘The Government have actively encouraged large-scale economic migration,’ and produced clear evidence of this.
He warned: ‘The current scale of immigration, of which asylum is only a small part, simply cannot be allowed to continue. The pressure on our schools and public services is heavy and increasing. We already have to build… nearly 300 homes every single day just to house immigrant families.’“

John Osborne
“Given a platform to express his views in the 1957 anthology Declaration, he took the opportunity to criticize monarchy:
I have called Royalty religion the ‘national swill’ because it is poisonous… the leader-writers and the bribed gossip mongers have only to rattle their sticks in the royalty bucket for most of their readers to put their heads down in this trough of Queen-worship… My objection to the Royalty symbol is that it is dead; it is the gold filling in a mouthful of decay.[67]“
[Wikipedia]
Polemical, but he had a point.
More from Osborne:
“Critics saw a conservative attitude to empire reflected in West of Suez,[41][36][45] and later in the 1970s he expressed support for Enoch Powell;[76] in the words of Osborne’s biographer Michael Ratcliffe, “he drifted to the libertarian, unorganized right”.[69] Several commentators have argued that a conservative and nostalgic strain was apparent in Osborne’s work from an early stage.[77][52][76] As early as 1968, in an interview with Kenneth Tynan, he had declared himself “a patriot in the sense that my life only has meaning here, not somewhere else. This sort of spurious internationalism, where people respond to one another across nations and continents — it seems to me very unreal.“[47]“
[Wikipedia]
I am warming to his words, especially after the pathetic “Conservative Democracy” “conference” (about 100 people), at Bournemouth yesterday, had an even more pathetic knot of pro-“refugee” (migrant-invader) protesters (about 3 or 4) outside the “conference”. They were there, apparently, to support non-existent “climate refugees”.
The unreality has now permeated all levels, from mainstream System political parties (look at the last few Prime Ministers— Sunak, Liz Truss, Boris-idiot, Theresa May) to tiny groups on all sides, even the British nationalist side in some cases.

Interesting but, if the KGB was so cunning, why was it unable to save the Soviet Union itself? The collapse of “the West” may be in train, but that of the “socialist” world already happened, starting (arguably) in 1989.
Not that that means that Bezmenov was completely wrong.
Talking about Golitsyn, his stock was low for decades. I recall discussing the matter in the early/mid1980s, after dinner with a senior member of the (British) Foreign Office research apparat. It was at his home in Blackheath (London), and was a merely social invitation via one of his daughters.
The FO man was dismissive of Golitsyn and, after a couple of his excellent aged Scotch whiskies, emphatically so. I had, at the time, the bad habit of playing devil’s advocate or advocatus diabolus…
All the same, while the Soviet and Chinese communists may not have expressly plotted together to deceive the West about the Sino-Soviet split [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anatoliy_Golitsyn#Controversies], look at what is now happening— what looks very like a slowly-emerging Russia-China rapprochement against NATO/NWO.
Slightly alternatively, a Russia-China rapprochement combined with a strategy of undermining the West not only militarily but also in financial and commercial areas; weakening the dollar as the default world currency, and bypassing the financial centres of the USA, UK, and EU.
Sometimes, ideas may not become official policy yet have unexpected effects later, down the line. An example of that would be the Helsinki Accords of 1975 [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helsinki_Accords].
Many saw them as meaningless, an example of the Soviet Union “fooling” the West. That may well have been the intention of the Soviet leadership. However, the dissidents in Russia and the Baltic states, Czechoslovakia etc, used the superficially “paper” agreements to push for liberalization of the whole socialist system in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. The rest is history.
Also, speculating philosophically a little, I think that, once an idea has passed through even one human mind, it has incalculable effects down the line.
A somewhat similar idea (re. Helsinki etc) was behind the episode of The Sandbaggers (for me, one of the very best spy story series on TV) called My Name is Anna Wiseman.
I confess that, when I first saw that episode, I thought it rather far-fetched. I thought the same, more or less, about Andrei Amalrik’s Will the Soviet Union Survive until 1984?, which I first read sometime in the early 1980s. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrei_Amalrik]. In both cases, I was (at least partly) wrong. Sometimes, life can be very surprising. I have found that.

“Jack Monroe”, a complete fraud. Amazing that she is still being invited to various festivals, though I think only small ones, and she is still occasionally seen in the mass media. In fact, there are still (as of today) 429 utter mugs each sending her between £3.50 and £44 monthly via Patreon. Those idiots must have cotton wool for brains.
Yes, I know that there are other online “grifters”, such as one “Supertanskiii”, a blond woman who has made a living ranting pointlessly on Twitter about “the Tories” (because fake “Labour” under Starmer would be so much better…oh, no, wait a moment…). “Jack Monroe”, though, is a particularly egregious, and indeed pathological, liar.
I'm sure we can all be pompously dismissive but it doesn't really further the discussion.🤷♀️ Some people care about pretence & hypocrisy. Jack Monroe has her lifestyle funded because she led people to believe she was in dire straits. Legitimate questions remain about other funding
I blogged about those events several times in 2022. As I guessed, there never was a libel action launched, but “grifter” Jack Monroe pretended for quite a while that there was, and solicited donations from mugs.
In fact, her one-time chosen lawyer, Israel-based self-promoter Mark Lewis (about whom I have also blogged in the past), has not even come out of his kennel on her behalf in the past year, as far as I know.
As a matter of law, she should refund the donors because they have contributed to a fund for a purpose which hasn’t been pursued. Unless it was clear when they contributed that they consented to their money being used for another purpose eg charity if the primary purpose failed

Comment about Starmer’s latest speech. I agree with the extract quoted by Rentoul but, having said that, one could say that “Labour” is no longer “socialist” or even broadly “social” (politically) and is (just like the “Conservatives”) also completely out of touch.
Both System parties, and both entirely in the pocket of the Jewish-supremacist lobby.
As a Londoner, I can testify that if you travel regularly on London public transport, every week or two you are likely to experience or witness verbal harassment or threatening behaviour from some damaged individual or street thug. It's disgusting.
Import the uncivilized non-white world (and allow the non-whites to breed prolifically, and also fail to control them) and you import these sorts of social problems.
Not that all such problems are caused by non-whites, but most are. About 90%, even though the non-whites are “only” about 20% of the UK population, and about 40%-50% (?) of the London population.

Why do strive so much for the EU when the countries that are in it strive to leave? pic.twitter.com/EWyYVq5o9m
The Eastern European states, and the poorer EU states generally, love the EU for its financial largesse, the redistribution of wealth from the “old EU” to the “new EU”. Ireland, the Baltic states, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, etc. For the larger, longer-membership, western and central European states, the wealthier ones, the EU is disastrous. UK (until recently), France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands; also Sweden, Denmark etc.
There is also the problem of non-white migration-invasion.
The original EEC/EC was not so bad — relaxed trade and travel, even relatively easy residence and work—. It worked because the original EEC populations were closely-related northern European nations, and because it was primarily a trading bloc, not an ever-expanding political project.
There was no non-white migration-invasion, because Libya under Gaddafi, Morocco, and Algeria all stopped Africans from coming across the Mediterranean; also, the NWO had not yet destabilized the Middle East and Afghanistan. Even the Roma Gypsies were “imprisoned” behind the so-called “Iron Curtain” until 1989, and so unable to travel to the UK and other parts of Western Europe.

“Britain’s compensation bill for victims killed or maimed by AstraZeneca‘s Covid jab could theoretically exceed £1billion, MailOnline can reveal.
Around 90 families are currently pursuing legal action against the pharmaceutical titan, claiming the jab was essentially a defective product.
Lawyers representing the claimants believe that some of the cases could be worth up to £20m in compensation, which is roughly 160 times more than the £120,000 Government support available. They hope to be able to prove that the vaccine was to blame in court.“
[Daily Mail]
The woman who developed that “vaccine” was not only applauded by the stupid rabbits at Wimbledon but also got some kind of official “honour”, I seem to remember.
The Daily Mail refers to the individual as “her” and “she“, and also makes spelling mistakes (but then, the “journalist” scribbling it is one “Vivek Chaudhary”…).
I think that many people, even today, will be honest if they find a purse or wallet. In the past few years, I myself have found two or three. One was a kind of wallet I happened to see in a clifftop parking place. I was there, unusually, early one morning, not long after dawn. I saw the item in the half-light, was curious, so went to pick it up.
The wallet contained about £50 in cash, I think also a debit card, a couple of other bits and pieces, and a student railcard in the name of some girl.
I went home, thinking that the girl must be fairly local, in view of the station which had issued the railcard, only about 8 miles from that car park. Her surname was unusual, so I called the few telephone numbers (landlines) with the same name. Only one answered. An old lady, so no-go.
In the end, I drove to the local police station (its desk manned by an old fellow, a civilian support person) and gave in the wallet. I made the point that there was a large college near the rail station which issued the card, so the girl was almost certainly one of the students there.
I hope that the girl got back her money and the rest. As for what a young girl aged 16-18 was doing in a clifftop car park and (presumably) after dark, and how she managed to lose her wallet, maybe it is better not to speculate…
The second wallet was larger, newer, and packed with both money and cards (an incredible number, literally dozens, neatly and individually carefully tucked into pockets), and had been left in a shopping trolley at Waitrose. I took it in to the help desk, and a member of staff took it from me. Probably the woman who lost it got it back soon afterwards. I imagine that she must have called the store in a panic.
Not that I promise to be a good citizen if someone leaves an attache case containing a million pounds somewhere, which amount of cash could not, in my view, be the property of any honest person. No, the (so far, hypothetical) million pounds stays with me, in that event.
The Conservative Democratic conference. Hall almost empty. Rows and rows of empty seats. The photos show no more than 100 in the audience. In fact, I think that I addressed a larger audience than this one when I spoke at the London Forum in 2017.
Hard to judge the age demographic accurately from the photos, but apart from a few younger persons under 30 (possibly students), and a few youngish blonde women (possibly journalists), the audience seems to have been predominantly grey-haired or bald. I should say, at a guess, that there were more people over 70 than there were people under 50.

Duncan Smith wants it to be 75. Above life expectancy in our poorest and most deprived areas. The Tories don't see why they should give our pension money back to us at all. #r4todayhttps://t.co/AiJFqrHbfU
“There is a myth that as a country we cannot afford our state pensions. And that myth is central to Iain Duncan Smith’s proposals to raise the state pension age to 75.
But there is a problem with the premise of IDS’s bright idea. The reality is that according to the OBR, public spending on the state pension is expected to rise by less than 1 per cent of GDP between 2017-18 and 2022-23.
In the even more distant future, the OBR forecasts that by keeping the current system in place, by the 2060s when those people currently in their twenties are drawing down on a state pension, our country will only be spending around 2 per cent more as a share of our GDP.
No government wishing to be re-elected will ignore the largest voting bloc in the country, therefore there will need to be some form of income support for this group. The cost increase is clearly not beyond the realms of manageability under current forecasts.
The poorest pensioners are the ones who are most reliant on the state pension – moving the goalposts is a callous response to a rise in poverty among the elderly. Under IDS’s plans, the elderly will have to work longer in an unforgiving job market typified by low wages and zero-hours contracts. Do we really want to condemn a 70-year-old to in-work poverty? It’s utterly cruel…
Serious government policy in the 21st century should focus on how we ensure everyone from cradle-to-grave shares in the wealth of our nation. A universal basic income, a shorter working week, and the maintenance of the triple lock system: these are the policies of tomorrow.“
[The Independent]
If implemented, a plan such as that suggested by Iain Duncan Smith, under present circumstances, would mean that people 65-75, i.e. at the age where most people now are receiving State pensions, and who are often managing long-term health problems, would be made subject to the ridiculous and shambolic, yet extremely repressive DWP regime started under Labour after 2005 and then made far harsher by “Dunce” Duncan Smith (his real name is plain “Smith”) after 2010.
I do not understand how Smith has lasted this long politically, being terminally thick, having falsified his CV several times, and having cost the State huge amounts via his half-baked programmes. That is not even taking into account his own outright frauds in respect of his MP expenses. Hundreds of thousands of pounds. I also do not understand how he has survived generally. He must be well-guarded.
That last in fact is a major reason why things are as they are in the UK: instead of MPs and ministers being afraid of the people, the poor British people are afraid of the cruel, corrupt, and freeloading MPs and ministers.
Something has to be done about the state of the UK. That much is becoming obvious to almost everyone. That, however, just begs the question, in a political milieu where the main System parties are very similar in policy terms.
Do Labour have any policies !?
Starmer has broken all is Leadership election pledges….
She is, in a sense, correct here too, sadly. Except that she wants the UK to become non-white (like her), and I (of course) do not.
The non-European, non-white population is exploding. Their birth rate is far higher than that of (real) British people, and of course there is the continuing migration invasion, not only via small boats crossing the Channel but also via so-called “legal” immigration. All in all, over 700,000 in the past year alone.
All System parties either support or do nothing to stop the invasion of non-whites into the UK. Meanwhile, idiots or malicious grifters of the Ash Sarkar type applaud our upcoming racial and national demise.
The laws re. free speech or, rather, repressing free speech, are now so harsh that I cannot say here what should be done with System political frauds, malicious groups (both Zionist groups and those who can mainly be described as their “useful idiots”), and other enemies of the people. My readers will have to read between the lines.

For me, socialism effectively died in 1989 (I tend not to use the poorly-defined “Left/Right” descriptors). Look at a mild version of socialism, that of the Labour Party in the UK. It veered between socialism and social-democracy in the 1956-1989 period, then chucked out its socialist elements during the 1990s, under Blair.
Look at Labour now. It is very very obvious that Jewish-lobby puppet Starmer will do nothing radical to help the poorer part of the society, but will try, so to speak, “to run the workhouses better”, and no more.
Ironically, Labour might have recovered some old-style socialism under Corbyn, had he stayed on, but of course the Jewish lobby finished off Corbyn and anyone supportive of him in Labour. Most of them have been expelled or stamped on hard enough to shut them up.
Labour’s “offer” to the voting public amounts to a possibly more efficient (maybe not even that) version of what the Conservative Party has been doing for 13 years.
Labour is doing well in the opinion polls by default, purely because the “Conservative” misgovernment is so bloody awful.

Oliver Reed— quite a character. Despite the hellraising reputation and lifestyle, he could be quite pleasant and polite. My parents told me that they had met him (would have been in the late 1970s, I think, though maybe early 1980s) when stopping off for a drink at an inn on the Hog’s Back in Surrey, not far from Reed’s large Victorian country house. He was at the bar with a (male) friend, and was interesting and courteous, they said.
The conversation had ended prematurely when the publican whispered to Reed that “she’s outside!“, at which Reed and his friend ran out the back way, behind the bar. A moment later a blazingly-angry woman arrived, and said to the barman “has he been in?“, to which the barman diplomatically said “haven’t seen him“! She then stalked out. This turned out to have been Reed’s then wife, Jacquie.
Yes, Oliver Reed. The sort of character rarely seen then, and never seen now (arguende). Descended from Peter the Great, supposedly, and someone who started a romance with a 16-y-o schoolgirl when he was 42 (they later married, when she was about 21 and he was about 47).
The generality of the public want people to be either saints or sinners, but few people are unalloyedly either. “Blame and praise alike befall, when a dauntless man’s spirit is black and white mixed, like the magpie’s plumage” [Wolfram von Eschenbach, Parzival]
You see that wish of many to perceive people in a very rigid saint/sinner way in almost every political or social (or historical) scenario: the contending forces of the Second World War have to be either “evil” or “good”, despite it being obvious that bad things were done by all major forces contending.
The same is true of contemporary social or political matters in the UK. Those living on State benefits are often seen as either “scroungers” or “fraudsters” (though by some as suffering “victims” of society). Both can be true, even in one individual case, but people only want black and white, not grey.
Likewise, anyone who has served in the Army is now (following the American usage) a “veteran” and, if ever anywhere near a war zone, quite likely a “hero”, a usage that the Sun “newspaper” started in the early 1980s, when anyone who had set foot in the Falklands during the campaign was a “Falklands hero”.
Nurses of course are all seen as good, or even “angels”. Same, more or less, with doctors etc.
There is now no or very little nuance.

🇵🇱 On its current path, Poland is on track to become wealthier than Britain by 2030 thanks to a post-communist economic miracle. The country has become a hotbed for future-facing industries like tech
Funny. In 1988, when I first went to Poland, driven by a former schoolfriend who had met a Polish girl in London when I very nearly slipped into the Thames and drowned— long story…), he opined, after we had spent some weeks there (I think about 6 weeks, in the end) that maybe poor Poland, then still under socialist control, might one day overtake the UK and France, in the Biblical “the last shall be first” way. At the time, I thought it highly unlikely, but look now…
In fact, my addiction to Google Earth and its Street View has revealed to me in recent years how much Poland has changed since I was there in 1988 and 1989 (I went several times over a couple of years). The roads look better by far than most of the UK ones now, especially the motorways and main highways that now exist. As for Warsaw, completely different.
The above changes must be interesting to my then friend and driver (I did not drive at the time), who married that Polish girl a year or so later, in the Autumn of 1989 (I was the best man, and the wedding was a lavish affair held in the St. Mary Basilica in Krakov, in the main market square).
