Honourable men, honourable soldiers

I happened to read the Wikipedia piece about Hermann-Eberhard Wildermuth: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermann-Eberhard_Wildermuth.

“On 12 August 1944 Wildermuth became “Fortress Commandant” of Le Havre in France. This came as a disappointment; he had hoped for a corps. Before taking his new command, however, he swore the ‘customary oath’ to Hitler: to defend the fortress to the last man, and only to surrender with the authorisation of his superiors.[3] This oath to Hitler was, broadly speaking, respected by Wildermuth. At his interrogation by the British in January 1945, he stated that his aim had been to deny the Allies the use of the port, and to tie down as many Allied troops as possible, and that this had been achieved to his own satisfaction, since two British infantry divisions and about 150 tanks were assigned to the siege of Le Havre for almost fourteen days. Furthermore, while Wildermuth personally surrendered to British troops on 12 September, after being wounded in the thigh, he refused to order the surrender of the garrison on the ground that as a prisoner of war he no longer had any authority to do so.[4]

Prior to the early September launch of the British-led Operation Astonia to take the port city Wildermuth had requested that French citizens be evacuated before heavy pre-assault naval and air bombardment commenced. His offer was rebuffed by Lt-General John Crocker, in command of the 1st British Corps which had laid siege to the city. Crocker would later argue that if Wildermuth cared about the civilian population, he could have surrendered the garrison before the bombing began, and that acceding to Wildermuth’s request would have served only the German interest, by gaining time and removing potentially disruptive French civilians from the defended fortress.[5]“

Another, but far more junior officer, Lieutenant William Douglas-Home (whose elder brother later became a Conservative Party prime minister), was also at Le Havre at the material time:

“Despite his opposition to the policy of requiring the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany he was conscripted into the Army in July 1940 and joined the Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment).[7] He went to 161 Officer Cadet Training Unit (161 OCTU) in the buildings of the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, where one of his colleagues was David Fraser. At Sandhurst, he was critical of the war, which he said had been unnecessary.[8] Douglas-Home was commissioned in the Buffs in March 1941.[9] While an officer he stood in the three parliamentary by-elections.

Douglas-Home was assigned to the 7th Battalion of the Buffs, which was converted to tanks as the 141 Regiment Royal Armoured Corps (141 RAC). In the Normandy campaign, 141 RAC was assigned to I Corps, a British formation within the First Canadian Army. In August, First Canadian Army was directed to mop up the German forces cut off in various sea ports in Normandy and Pas de Calais. In the first week of September 1944, the Allies moved against the port of Le Havre. A German garrison under Colonel Hermann-Eberhard Wildermuth was dug in on the hill overlooking the city. Wildermuth had been ordered by Hitler to defend Fortress Le Havre to the last man, and not to surrender.

When the Allied forces invested the city in advance of the planned aerial bombardment and subsequent assault, Wildermuth asked the British commander if the French civilians could be evacuated from the city, but that request was refused. Lieutenant (acting Captain) Douglas-Home was near Le Havre, awaiting the completion of the aerial bombardment. He was to serve as a liaison officer in Operation Astonia, the Allied attack on Le Havre. On the second day after the aerial bombardment had started, he learned of the German request to evacuate the civilians and the Allied refusal. The consequences of the bombardment were apparent to the waiting Allied forces and Douglas-Home refused to participate in the attack. He gave two reasons:[citation needed]

  • The unconditional surrender policy, which he thought compelled the enemy to fight to the end.
  • The refusal of civilian evacuation was morally unacceptable to him.

which created a moral obligation for Douglas-Home and he declined to participate.

The aerial bombardment of Le Havre lasted four nights, killed over 2,000 French civilians, 19 German soldiers and levelled the city. The Germans surrendered after two-days’ fighting and I Corps moved on to Boulogne, which was also subjected to a heavy aerial bombardment. At that time Douglas-Home, who had been placed under supervision (he did not consider himself at that time to have been “arrested”) wrote to the Maidenhead Advertiser and the publication of his letter in the newspaper prompted his formal arrest and detention.

Because of the article in the Maidenhead Advertiser, the Allied forces besieging Calais allowed the civilians to be evacuated from the town before it was subjected to a heavy aerial bombardment and final assault. Dunkirk was allowed to remain in German hands, with the besieged force bottled up, until Germany surrendered on 8 May 1945. In the wake of the publication, the British became sensitive to indiscriminate bombing of occupied cities and towns, although that consideration was not extended to towns and cities in Germany.

Captain Andrew Wilson, M.C. also served in 141 RAC. In his autobiography Flame Thrower, published in 1956, he recounts this incident and its consequences. Wilson wrote his story deliberately in the third person:

Even when he sailed with the regiment to Normandy, William had continued his private war-against-war. While headquarters were near Bayeux, he had written to the newspapers about some German ambulances shot up by British fighters. And what he had written was true. Wilson had seen the ambulances, riddled with bullets on the Tilly road.”

I knew the answers only to questions 4, 8, and 10 and (like Rentoul) also guessed one word of no. 1. On a few other questions, I came close “but no cigar”…

Lewis is both incompetent and dishonest. Anyone who employs him as a solicitor (if anyone still does) is an idiot.

Incidentally, and for those unaware of the matter, the above tweets refer mostly to the libel case Wilson v. Mendelsohn, Newbon (deceased), and Cantor. Wilson, an academic from the North of England, won his case despite a whole battery of Jews giving, in effect, perjured or tainted testimony. The witnesses (all Jews, all Israel fanatics) disbelieved by the trial judge included vituperative barrister Simon Myerson (dismissed, in effect, as part-time judge in 2024, because he was unable or unwilling to stop harassing people online), Daily Star scribbler Adam Cailler, one Joanne Bell (prolific on Twitter/X as “@jobellerina”), and Nathan Comiskey (another keyboard “warrior” for Israel) as well as the defendants.

Pete Newbon, one of the defendants, a sadistic and crazed Israel fanatic who trolled people mercilessly online, as well as committing various (other) crimes (his employer, a university, had already disciplined him for his appalling behaviour), committed suicide during the trial because he had not told his wife that their house was on the line. It appears that Mark Lewis and/or other Jewish lawyers had misled one or more of the defendants as to their downside risk. Dishonest, or simply incompetent? The Solicitors’ Regulation Authority is going to pronounce upon that soon.

Now, it seems that “Mark Lewis Lawyer” (solicitor) and Beth Grossman (Counsel, of Doughty Street Chambers in London) are refusing to disclose evidence about their behaviour during the course of the proceedings. It could lead to serious consequences for them, though Lewis is so washed-up now that it might not make much difference to him. Well, time will tell.

It is a wrongful policy for several reasons, one of which is that it is likely to encourage blacks and browns to rule, probably incompetently, over the UK.

Huckabee also strikes me as rather stupid.

“Baroness” Deech, a Jew-Zionist academic now elevated to the House of Lords, headed the Bar Standards Board, or BSB, when “UK Lawyers for Israel” [“UKLFI”], of which she was also a member, complained about my socio-political views, in or about 2014.

The “baroness” was still, I believe, the head of the BSB when the decision was taken to haul me before a Bar Disciplinary Tribunal, though by the time the “trial” took place, in 2016, she had been replaced by another mouthpiece for Israel and the Jewish lobby, a retired diplomat who had been involved in recovering property allegedly confiscated from Jews in mainland Europe in the 1930s and 1940s.

In other words, the Jewish/pro-Jewish influence on the BSB meant that the decision to “prosecute” me was flawed ab initio, being totally unobjective; biased.

I made those points at my Tribunal hearing in late 2016, but the chairman of the panel, a retired circuit judge, refused to take them as particularly significant, though he described my overall “case” as “unprecedented.”

Incidentally, the malicious Jewish cabal known as “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”] was also involved in conspiring to get me disbarred, behind the scenes, though the actual complaint was formally signed off by yet another “UKLFI” (etc) Jewish barrister (of whom I had never heard), one Goldberg, now about 80 and apparently once Counsel for, inter alia, the infamous part-Jew gangsters, the Krays.

Windsor has been Conservative for most of its existence since the Conservative Party emerged in the 1830s, certainly since the 1840s. The last non-Conservative elected there was a Liberal, elected in 1868.

In more recent years, 2005-2024, Windsor was represented by a “dodgy” businessman, Adam Afriyie (half-English, half-African) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Afriyie. Rankin’s tenure as MP for Windsor may be short. The next election must have Reform UK as a likely contender (got about 10% in 2024), and both Lab and Con are likely to prove unpopular choices next time.

The Dutch justice system is famously lenient, of course, but this is almost unbelievable.

I do not know whether the untermensch will even do the full 5 years.

I am not a “hanger and flogger”, as I have noted before on the blog, but the devil is in the detail. Very lenient sentences and prison regimes, as in the Netherlands and Norway, can work, but when the offenders are low-IQ non-Europeans, or extremely evil, or both, all that happens is that crime becomes a lifestyle choice with few deterrents on the perpetrators.

I think that the Dutch system has changed since the South Moluccan terrorists perpetrated their very unpleasant outrage (now all but forgotten) in 1977.

Incredibly, the 3 surviving terrorists got only 6 to 9 years in prison. An accomplice received a mere one-year sentence. I recall from news reports in 1977 that, at that time, there were no life sentences in the Netherlands; the longest anyone got for anything was 20 years. I have met relatively few, not so many, Ukrainians. I have met many Russians, of all sorts. I have to say that I much prefer the Russians I have met to the Ukrainians I have met.

Subjective, yes of course. Anecdotal too, were details to be considered. However, consider the cultural riches of Russia: composers, writers, painters, philosophers and other thinkers. Now consider the Ukrainian equivalent. Frankly, there is no comparison.

This is the sort of thing that happens when free speech is attacked via not only misguided or deliberately-totalitarian anti-free speech laws but also via policy determinations that have no basis in law whatever, as with “non-crime hate incidents”. “Hate crime” itself has no real basis in law; even less so has “non-crime hate” etc.

This is akin to, parallel to, what happened during the 2020-2022 “Covid” hysteria— government wishes, or preferences, labelled as “official guidance”, and all of that farrago confused with actual law, and then “enforced” arbitrarily by police woodentops who often had, and have, no idea either as to what is and what is not law, and who also often have an inflated idea of their own powers under law.

Talking about “Covid” and thinking back to the facemask loonies seen everywhere 2-3 years ago (though not so often now the msm propaganda hysteria has died down), I saw a typical one today in a supermarket: a middle-aged woman, very fat, hauling herself along slowly, while wearing her filthy, probably 3-years-old, cloth facemask, and pushing a large shopping trolley full of high-carb, high-fat foodstuffs.

Much of what Goodwin says is correct. What weakens Goodwin, weakens Farage, weakens Reform UK, is that they are totally in the pocket of the Jew-Zionist-Israel lobby. Same goes for Toby Young, Allison Pearson, the “Free Speech Union” etc.

Moscow travelogue

Very different from when I was not far from there several times in 1993 (in Leninsky Prospekt, at the Academy of Sciences). On my second and shorter trip to Moscow, in 2007, I was in another area of the city.

Whatever may be said about Putin, he has made Moscow a very much better city than it was either in 2007 or (a fortiori) 1993, when it was, palpably, on the edge of chaos.

Sovietism had to fall, after the years of gradual decline and the uselessness of Gorbachev. It fell into near-chaos, it was ravaged and pillaged by finance-capitalist carpetbaggers (mostly Jews) from the West, and also by (mostly Jewish) homegrown predators, the so-called “oligarchs”. Gangsterism too.

Putin put an end to much of that, certainly to the outright gangsterism (in 1993, in the Yeltsin era, I was staying in the same hotel, the Ukraina, as the top-level Chechen gangsters), but there are still huge social inequalities (and, worse yet, inequities) in Russia.

I feel that Russia is still in one of its states of transition. The situation will become clearer later.

I am not a “hanger and flogger”, usually, far from it, but the sentences handed down for quite bad crimes of violence are often risibly lenient. The public are rightly concerned.

Well, Corbyn proves, once again, that he is a bit of a political joke.

At present, Reform UK is between 28% and 34% in the opinion polls, which might result in anything between 200 and 400 MPs at a general election. Corbyn’s (I think as yet unnamed) “real Labour” party has not been much tested in opinion polls but seems to be somewhere between 5% and 10%.

That might result in anything from a couple of MPs (inc. Corbyn himself) and (at peak) half a dozen or so MPs. The likelihood is that Corbyn’s new party will take a small amount of support from Reform, far more from official Labour, and so give Reform maybe (?) a dozen more MPs.

The new and totalitarian Online Harms Act is already resulting in footage of protests being censored. LibLabCon MPs supported its passage.

The important thing is that, as in all opinion polls for almost the past year, Reform still leads Labour. Also, the decline of the Con Party continues. The Foreign Office once had a kind of down-at-heel outstation in Lower Regent Street, a building called Charles House. Further down the street, out of view of that painting (behind where the artist must have stood), and on the other side of the street, a building so unmemorable that few will have noticed its departure. I do not think that it even had “Foreign and Commonwealth Office” on the outside, just “Charles House”.

Just found it on Rightmove. Lease offered by something called Levy Properties or similar. Wouldn’t you know?…

The interior seen on Rightmove now looks very bright and open-plan, quite different to what it was in 1978 or 1979, when I had to go there once (some bureaucratic nonsense about my passport, which was being held by them).

The building was then very dark and gloomy, there were few if any people about, and the visitor (I was the only one, it seemed) was, and had to be, closely escorted by an unsmiling old dragon dressed in a dark-blue uniform, a bit like the female prison guards sometimes seen in old British films. The few windows were draped in thick and filthy net curtains (to deter both snoopers and bomb fragments; this was still IRA-terrorism days).

The dragon took me to the room in question, and waited for me outside, later escorting me back to the very unwelcoming front desk, and making sure I left.

Austin, a complete puppet of the Israelis and the Jewish lobby, apparently tweeted (I have screenshots, apparently genuine, and blogged using them years ago, and have never been sued, nor even threatened with action, by Austin) to the effect that bestiality pornography should be decriminalized. Hard to believe that he is now in the House of Lords, but that old institution is now so degraded that it really should be shut down.

Armed police threatened a peaceful protester with arrest under the Terrorism Act for holding a Palestinian flag and having signs saying “Free Gaza” and “Israel is committing genocide”, accusing her of supporting a proscribed organisation.

Having spent much of my adult life in rental properties (everything from single bedsit rooms to a 26-bedroom historic house occupied only by me, my wife, and one cat), I oppose rental deposits. About 20 months ago, Gazan militants attacked southern Israel. Many Israelis (mostly military-connected, some civilian) were killed, some abducted. In round figures, about 1,000 (including Israelis killed by the Israelis themselves).

Since then, the Israeli Jews have killed or seriously wounded, or starved to death etc, or prevented from getting medicines, or even water, about 200,000 Gazans, mostly civilians, mostly women and children. The Israeli Jewish “soldiers” have deliberately killed, or sadistically maimed, small children lining up to get water and/or food for their families.

His NHS pay for a single shift had been over £600— and that was nearly 20 years ago, so you could certainly double or even triple that in today’s money. Incidentally, he had been working 6-7 days per week.

Of course, the fanatical Zionist Jews in London, Manchester, Brighton etc will scoff, and say that Gazan people are not suffering much at all. Meanwhile, the very same Jews whine, and claim to be afraid, if they happen to see (or pretend to have seen) a Swastika drawn in chalk on a pavement by children.

Historical note

On 20 July 1944, military and civilian backstabbers, with varying motives, attempted to kill Adolf Hitler, and to take up the reins of state in the German Reich.

The plotters varied both in their motives and behaviour, some principled and, at least in their own minds, patriots of a sort, others unprincipled and/or out-and-out traitors. Some exhibited courage, others cowardice.

History is not black and white; it must be open to discussion, dissent, and revision, which is one reason why the quasi-mediaeval laws banning such revision in several EU and other countries (sub nom “holocaust” “denial” laws) are so wrong.

One of the biggest problems Australia has always had, especially since the retirement of Sir Robert Menzies [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Menzies] has been the very poor quality of its senior (and other) politicians.

Menzies, above all, supported suitable European immigration to Australia after WW2, but opposed non-European immigration, a wise dual-aspect policy that was changed by and after Gough Whitlam’s government of the 1970s. Disastrous.

I recall a prison escape by bank robbers in the 1970s, in Leicestershire. When recaptured, one of the robbers was seen to have had the s**t kicked out of him, his face black and blue. Believe it or not, he was then charged with “criminal damage to a police boot” (using his face or head)! Talk about adding insult to injury.

I have no idea whether that ludicrous charge was later dropped. Maybe. Things like that happened sometimes in the days when the police were the charging authorities, i.e. before the Crown Prosecution Service was invented (1986).

Incidentally, my own (and only) contact with the underwhelming Essex Police was in 2017, when the usual malicious “Campaign Against Antisemitism” Jew-Zionist(s) made a typically false/malicious complaint against me. “THE heartbroken family of a man with Alzheimer’s say they feel ‘betrayed’ after a woman they employed to care for him stole ‘treasured’ and ‘irreplaceable’ items from the family home.

Rachel Goodman, who has a similar previous conviction, was said to have ‘exploited the family’s vulnerability in the most callous way possible’ after she admitted stealing sentimental items.

The defendant avoided immediate jail time when she was sentenced at Weymouth Magistrates Court.

Goodman, 54, was employed by Louise Woollam to care for her husband Richard, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, at their home in Shillingstone, near Blandford.

A court heard how the incident had such an impact on the family that Mr Woollam, a former RAF pilot, had to be placed in a care home.

The court heard Goodman stole items such as a diamond engagement ring which belonged to Mrs Woollam’s mother, earrings brought for Mrs Woollam by her husband, sunglasses, a watch, a snorkel, bedding, a throw, money – and a 250-year-old family heirloom.

Goodman, of Eastland Road, Yeovil, has 13 previous convictions, which includes conning an elderly woman out of £3,500 and for which she received a suspended sentence.

A victim impact statement read out in court by prosecutor, Christina Norgan, on behalf of Mrs Woollam, said: “My trust and security has been completely shattered by Rachel Goodman. Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease which has already taken so much from us.

“She exploited our vulnerability in the most callous way possible. I could not go to work as I could not trust another carer in my home. I feel betrayed and broken-hearted.”

Kenny Sharp, mitigating, said: “Maximum credit for an early guilty plea. This is a person who is struggling to come to terms with the reality of what she did. Immediate custody would have a significant impact on her two children.“

The defendant was handed a 12-month custodial sentence suspended for two years. She must also complete 12 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days and 200 hours of unpaid work.“
