I noticed when I was a starting-out pupil-barrister over 30 years ago (in London) that the vast majority of criminal defendants, in both the magistrates’ courts and (I think more so) the Crown Courts of the capital (where the more serious crimes in London are tried) were non-white, and that despite the fact that the non-white proportion of the population at the time was only about 10%-20% (indeed, the West Indian and African proportion was perhaps 5%, yet in the court system seemed to be at least half of the defendant-cadre).

Frankly, I think that those citizens are heroes, albeit that they arguably went too far in the heat of the moment. The sentences of “life, with minimum 21 years” (the father) and 19 years (the son) were very very harsh in all the circumstances. I should have thought that a minimum term served of, say, 5 years, would have been enough to mark any judicial disapproval (judicial, not societal— most British people would back the father and son, at least in principle).
The police too often show themselves completely unfit for purpose, useless, and the same is often true of the courts. People like singer and satirist Alison Chabloz actually get imprisoned in the UK for (in her case) lampooning some Jewish behaviour in song or in cartoons, while real criminals, who stab or slash people, or steal cars etc, are effectively let off.
Finally, I see that the Daily Mail has shown no photograph of the killed individual. I wonder why not…

Terrible though it may be, Russia’s choice in 2023 and 2024 will quite possibly resolve into that of either losing tactically in the south and southeast of Ukraine or of completely destroying the main cities of Ukraine, meaning Kiev, Odessa, and Kharkov, and prioritizing that over the destruction of the Kiev-regime forces in the field.

The history of the Roman Catholic Church is intimately bound up with our Western civilization. Some of its achievements have been stellar; some of its sins huge. However, the central fact is that the institution is now nearing the end of its time.
The behaviour of the modern Chinese (as a group, and China as a state) is often ghastly and backward. The treatment of the peoples of Western China is one example. As I have written previously on this blog, I repost quite a few Peter Hitchens tweets, not because I am a “supporter” or “fan” of Hitchens, but because he is quite often correct. We see repeatedly that, in the UK, voters vote only for parties, not for individuals. One example was the ignominious defeat of Simon Danczuk in Rochdale in 2017. His first election, in 2010, resulted in a vote-share of about 36%. His second election, in 2015, gave him a vote-share of about 46%. Both times under Labour label. After Danczuk had been deselected by Labour, he tried to get elected as Independent in 2017. Result? 1.8% (883 votes). Fifth place (out of six). The new Labour candidate won, with 58% of the vote.
Another example. Anne Milton was Conservative Party MP for Guildford from 2005. She also won the elections of 2010, 2015 and 2017, at the last of which her vote-share was nearly 55%.
An important distinction from the Danczuk case was there had been no scandal attaching to Anne Milton; she was deselected (the whip taken away by Boris Johnson) purely because of her opposition to “no-deal Brexit” and she was given the chance to stand again as a Conservative Party candidate at Guildford if she dropped her opposition. She refused and stood as Independent.
Anne Milton’s principled stance availed her naught; neither did her 14 years as MP for Guildford, nor her uninvolvement in any expenses scandal (or any other scandal). She got only 7.4% (over 4,000 votes, a 4th place out of 5) at the 2019 General Election. The new Conservative Party candidate won, with about 45%.
While Anne Milton’s defeat in 2019 was more honourable than that of Danczuk, the result, in bottom-line terms, was similar, a bad defeat. Her only consolation: she retained her deposit.
The “main parties” (and that really means just Labour and Conservative) still have a complete stranglehold because the sleepy voters are still voting mainly for a label.

This is a very good example of the pathology, not of “the virus” itself, but of the fear of it. A teacher in a State secondary school resigns because he fears that he might contract “the virus” by being in the same building or room as children or young persons. Well, it is possible, of course, though unlikely; any such school students infected would probably themselves not show any symptoms and be in no danger.
As for the teacher, yes, he might pick it up from those pupils, though it is probably a thousand to one chance. If the teacher were unlucky and were infected, his chance of needing any medical intervention would be small, hundreds to one. His chance of being seriously affected would be tiny. His chance of dying from “the virus” would be even smaller. His age is not mentioned, but probably under 60, probably under 50. His fear is misplaced.
Thus we see the way in which the fear whipped up by the government of clowns and its ludicrous “SAGE” advisers has led many rather unthinking people to make panicked decisions.
In any case, the alternative is simply to have no schools open until an effective vaccine is found and deployed, which might be months, years, or never. I have little respect for the UK educational system as it is, but the result of, in effect, having no education at all given to the young, would be worse (probably).

I am confident that I can defend myself, should it be necessary, against any charge of defamation by anyone, but I have a copper-bottomed armour anyway, inasmuch as I have no money or real property now, so anyone who sues me will lose out (hugely, I would make sure of that) even if (unlikely) they were to win in court. Lewis had the chance to sue me in 2018 or 2019 if he thought that I was libelling him. He was well aware of my blog posts. He never did sue, he never threatened to sue. My impecuniosity may have been part of the reason, but I maintain that another reason was because my blog tells the truth. It is not a pack of lies but true right the way through.

As I blogged a couple of days ago, the Crown Prosecution Service has surrendered, having now decided not to offer any evidence against Alison at the planned 10 July appeal hearing (which might anyway have resulted in another adjournment) at Derby Crown Court. The matter has now been taken out of the list. Alison has won. She has defeated both the suborned CPS and the malicious “CAA” [“Campaign Against Antisemitism”] Jew-Zionist conspirators (who may now find themselves in trouble for attempting to pervert the course of justice).

More “me-too” “liberal” repression and groupthink: Starkey has been sacked, by any other word, from his several university roles, and dropped by publishers.
This is not only hypocrisy, but a kind of sub-Stalinism. Once the “heretic” or “enemy” is identified by the persecutors, he (or she) is removed from jobs or statuses, denounced by those wanting to curry favour with the powerful, or by brainwashed nobodies etc. In terms of our sick contemporary society, the Twitter mob and the like, egged on by the officially-mandated scribblers and TV talking heads.
Starkey won a scholarship to Cambridge University from Kendal Grammar School, and received a First Class degree from Cambridge at a time when that was unusual, i.e. before degrees (and especially Firsts) had been devalued and made all but meaningless.
Those criticizing Starkey are usually of lesser academic attainments; persons such as the scribbler and talking head Piers Morgan, a product of a comprehensive school followed by Harlow Technical College.
What makes the Starkey persecution slightly remarkable is that, in the past week, an Indian agitator and inciter of hatred towards white people, Priyamvada Gopal, was actually promoted to full professor at Cambridge after saying and tweeting that “white lives don’t matter“, a declaration of war on the British people, on all European people.

I see now that the general public are thinking about other ways of organizing the work-leisure boundaries. Millard and the People!
In fact, you could keep a 40-hour week and yet reduce the working week in terms of days, by simply having a 10-hour work day, 4 days per week.
Advantages? Less strain on public transport, on roads etc. Less stress on employees, because they would be off-duty 3 days each week (and if Sunday were made to be, once more, a true day of leisure, with shops closed, so much the better). Less cost to employees in terms of train tickets and car fuel etc.
Disadvantages? Not many. Less convenience in shopping, maybe, if all retail employees had the same day off.

Very true; at first, no-one knew anything much about Coronavirus. We were shown “news” reports of Italian towns with no-one moving except elderly couples having their lonely once a day evening walk through shuttered streets. The fear factor was palpable. Hungary is a good country, from what I have seen. What almost interests me more is how very supine and compliant most of “my fellow citizens” (I prefer to think of them as obedient rabbits) have been and continue to be. They might, the more disorderly of them, have a drunken fight or catfight (in “normal” times) on a Friday night, but when push comes to crunch there they are, the rabbits, all lining up 6 feet apart to buy bread and milk, and only going out at all when the toytown police give them the nod. Pathetic.
In related news, the London “Nightingale” instant hospital has been “stood down”, having only received a few dozen patients out of the 4,000 expected. The other similar hospitals across the country have also been closed or are being closed; some never opened at all!
The Boris-idiot government is now going to pretend to be still somehow in control, which it very obviously is not. Before long, there will be an effective lifting of the “lockdown”, but disguised by pointless “testing”, by fake “trial runs” in places that don’t matter very much, like the Isle of Wight, etc.
Meanwhile, the UK economy is spinning into a terminal decline. Worse, the plebs (including affluent suburbanites and “country”-dwellers, by the way) have been scared out of their skins, and actually are now afraid to leave their houses!
