[Wanda Landowska, celebrated harpsichordist, with Tolstoy, either at his Kropotkinskaya (Moscow) townhouse (which I myself have visited), or (more likely) at his family estate at Yasnaya Polyana, where she went on several occasions, travelling with her own harpsichord. Exact date of photo uncertain, but certainly in 1907, when Wanda Landowska made a concert tour of Russia; three years before the death of Tolstoy in 1910. The lives of Tolstoy and Landowska spanned much of the 19th and 20th centuries, Tolstoy having been born in 1828, and Landowska having died in 1959]

Just imagine: in 1910, a mere three years after that photo was taken in 1907, Tolstoy was dead and, four years after that, in 1914, the disaster of the First World War started, followed three years later by the even more disastrous Bolshevik seizure of power in late 1917.

I have to remind the nurse that she’s in hospital because she’s unwell and in agony. “Oh I didn’t know, I’m new to this ward” this ward is uneventful, nothing is happening. She must have read my daughter’s chart to give her the tablets. What sort of nurse gives tablets from the bottom of a bed?!?! Imagine I wasn’t here? How many patients would have felt despite the pain they should take it from her? Imagine my daughter was a frail or vulnerable patient? The entire experience has been god awful. The hospital is very empty, with wards full lit with no patients in them. It’s utterly utterly shit.”]

All too typical. While the picture overall is not unmixed, and while NHS care is sometimes good, it really is time that the British stopped regarding the NHS as some sort of world-beating service and quasi-religious object of devotion, and started to look at the NHS objectively, as a necessary first step to fixing the array of problems within it. That of course cannot be done so long as the UK is being invaded by a million “migrants” (migrant-invaders) every single year.

The NHS situation is merely one symptom of a society which has been gradually but increasingly visibly declining since, arguably, around 1989 but, also arguably, from earlier dates.

Mein Gott! No wonder the main System parties are now pulling every dirty trick known to slime-politics against Reform!

That opinion poll translates to a Commons with no less than 450 Reform UK MPs, Lab 61, LibDems 52, SNP 43, Cons 14, Greens 6 (etc).

Whether you call it (were it to happen) a very large majority for Reform, a “supermajority”, or a peaceful revolution, the fact is that such a result would render the existing System parties irrelevant and, certainly in the case of the Conservative Party, redundant, or near-dead.

Among Con Party MPs for the chop would be Kemi Badenoch, Suella Braverman, Priti Patel, Kit Malthouse, Mel Stride, and Robert Jenrick. I have not worked out who would be among the 14 left standing, but that would be merely of academic interest anyway, were there to be such a cull.

Cleverly was a bad joke as Foreign Secretary but not by reason of the fact that, like David Lammy, he is non-white (actually a half-caste), because Liz Truss and “Boris”-idiot were both mainly white British, and they were also bad jokes in the role (and both later became bad-joke Prime Ministers). Cleverly was a bad joke, like all others mentioned, by reason of his ignorance and stupidity.

The lady tweeter might like to note what all of those (Badenoch, Sunak, Cleverly) except Jenrick have in common— non-whites. Most British voters will, even after decades of msm brainwashing, not prefer a non-white as Prime Minister. It is not the only factor voters take into account, but it is one factor. They are, in effect, not even voting for MPs, but for a party, and a Prime Minister-designate.

I should imagine that the lady tweeter, Fiona-Natasha Syms, once married to —and employed via expenses by— a Conservative MP who lost his seat by only 7 votes in 2024) is correct that Jenrick will replace Badenoch as Con Party leader. Jenrick is not merely, in neurolinguistic terms, modelling Farage and Reform UK, but almost mirroring them.

The Conservative Party is actually without a purpose or role now. The England (Britain, but mainly England) from which it came has largely disappeared. Its former heartland or core— the rural counties, the patriotic working and middle classes and the landowning and factory-owning classes, have all morphed into different creatures entirely.

The Empire, Commonwealth (in any real way), monarchy, have gone, or effectively gone to perdition. The Con Party in 2025 is basically the property of the Jew-Zionist lobby, the Indian and other ultra-wealthy cabals etc, and is totally out of touch with British people and events.

Civil wars (which is really what the Russia-Ukraine conflict is) are bitter and awkward. The USA really only emerged from the shadow of the American Civil War a century or so after it finished; maybe in the 1980s, so well over a century later.

Of course. At age 25, they will be drafted. Their answer? To flee the fake state of “Ukraine” and try to live elsewhere. To be drafted, and then sent to the Kiev regime’s crumbling front lines, is a death sentence.

The problem is not, mainly, high taxation, as such (so long as that does not seem utterly confiscatory), but —quite precisely— what those taxation monies are spent on.

I am no expert on aviation, but my understanding is that, unlike commercial-fleet passenger or freight aircraft, and most bomber aircraft, fighter aircraft are made, quite deliberately, unstable, in order to be swiftly manoeuvrable by a skilled pilot. In the past, some fighter aircraft have been almost unusable for that reason; the Lockheed Starfighter of the 1960s was one such.

…and Trump failed, in his last weeks in office, to pardon thousands of nationalist and/or social-nationalist prisoners serving heavy time in Federal prison. Trump could have saved them from that, and their families from huge distress and harm, but chose not to do that. Same with Julian Assange and the defector of conscience, Snowden.

I wonder…could it be that Charles has spent most of his 74 years (as of this November) wanting to be King, and (?) preparing to be King, only to find that, now that he is King, he cannot really hold down the “job” (position, rank, status) and, quite likely, already finds the routine of being King rather irksome? Many are pointing out that Andrew has held that distinction since 1981, and that it is therefore not a (new) decision by the King, but he obviously chose to confirm the situation rather than change it by removing Andrew from that role (assuming that convention permits that— I do not see why not).

I don’t know, but it seems to me that, whatever one might say about the late Queen, she rarely put a foot wrong in public in her long reign. Charles has only been King for a few days, and already appears to be floundering.

I read that Prince Andrew has now been confirmed as “Earl of Inverness” (though he has in fact held the title since 1986). These titles, meaning nothing, are strange and pathetic baubles, as are the various badges and chains of the various orders of chivalry. The very name— “orders of chivalry“! About 600 years after such things had any reality. The Order of the Garter, of the Bath etc. Some of the dormant orders are even more peculiar, such as “The Order of the Star of India”. Cosmetic. In reality, such exams are far easier than they were in the 1980s, let alone 1970s and 1960s, facts which can easily be verified by looking at exam papers from different decades.

The System actually wants to keep the ridiculous grade inflation, because it creates meaningless public happiness: the pupils or students are happy because they can tell themselves that they got “A” grades, the teachers and schools can pretend that they are doing a good job (rather than the pitiful job most of them do most of the time), the parents —particularly the sharp-elbowed middle classes— are happy that their offspring are on track to go to this or that university or college and so populate the usual professions, and the Government can claim to be reforming the exam award system when it is doing no such thing.

Meanwhile, real standards, in the real world, in official and business administration, the professions, political life, fall like a stone. Look at the standard of MPs now! All the System parties. Jess Phillips is merely one of hundreds of deadhead examples.

I am no medic, but there has been, from the start, something not right about the whole System narrative around the Covid-19 “panicdemic”.

First of all, in early 2020, we were told that this was something almost akin to the 1970s British TV series, Survivors (no relation to the funny Alison Chabloz banned song of the same name): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivors_(1975_TV_series); incidentally, writing this, I notice that Survivors was remade in 2008, still with the same idea, i.e. that a Chinese lab releases a deadly virus, which spreads worldwide, changing everything…makes you think.

So, anyway, we were all thoroughly frightened in early 2020. However, measures such as the facemask nonsense were not implemented in the UK for about another 7 months. In some parts of Europe, notably Sweden, there was no panic, no facemask nonsense, all the bars and offices stayed open, and —quelle surprise— outcomes were better than in the UK and the other panicked parts of Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Belgium etc).

Since then we have seen that, in the world as a whole (even on the very inflated and misapplied statistics used), maybe 5 million people have died of or, rather, with “the virus”, which figure sounds huge but is out of 8 BILLION people. In other words, roughly one person out of every 1,800.

In fact, most of the deceased had other life-threatening problems anyway, many have been very aged (thus with low immunity), and many have become part of the death-statistics simply because they had (unreliable) positive tests for “the virus” up to a month prior to their death (which might even have been in a car accident). Absurd.

The UK is now going to be hit with poverty and restriction thanks to the policies applied for nearly two years by part-Jew chancer “Boris” and Indian “clever boy” Rishi Sunak. Pensioners are going to be hit as far as they can be without alienating their mainly pro-Conservative Party votes entirely; taxes overall will be increased by stealth as far as possible.

Huge amounts that could have been spent improving infrastructure and/or the environment have been just squandered on nothing much, squandered for no reason.

The crazed “furlough” payments and other policies did not come free of charge, though the masses probably, in fact clearly, assumed that they did.

As Labour is now, its only hope of office is to get to within about 50-60 seats of a Commons majority, and then to make a compact of some sort with the SNP and its MPs (numbering, at present, 45). However, the SNP would only make such a compact on the firm understanding of an early Indyref Mark 2. If that were to happen, and if, then, the SNP won such a second “indyref”, then the UK would break up, the SNP would no longer be in the Commons at all, and Labour as a party of government would be history.

Good point from Hitchens here. The point is valid also in respect of the Second World War. In the UK, great strides were being made in the 1930s in the areas of town planning, housing etc; the Depression poverty of the North was certainly not replicated in the South of England, generally speaking, certainly not in the late 1930s. The War spoiled much of the good that was happening. Britain only started to recover from its pyrrhic victory from or after 1955.

Press standards, and a few other thoughts

From a Daily Mirror report, penned by “journalists” Alec Whitaker and Lorraine King:

She “done the books…so he could a tab on his ill-gotten gains“?! Newspapers such as the Daily Mirror may not be great literature but they used to be at least halfway literate. Nowadays, supposed journalists are often seen writing such as “she was stood at the back“! Not only the Mirror, incidentally. The Daily Mail is also terrible. Others too.

Neither is the above sentence, about someone called Tiffany, an isolated mistake. Look at the sub-headline in the same report.

On the wider question, how is it that the defendants got off so lightly? The thug boyfriend got 27 months, so he will be out in a year. As for the “ho”…yes, that’s right...suspended sentence. Who needs a Get Out Of Jail Free Card when you have a couple of young children as an argument in mitigation to put before the sentencing judge?

Finally, the court was told that the amount made by the couple was uncertain. Maybe so, but they owned a Range-Rover (albeit a decade old).

If the State, if society, is unwilling to really repress drug dealers and users, it will never solve the problem…

Straw in the wind?

I was at, inter alia, a filling station today. As I went into the kiosk to pay, a lady was just coming out. I noticed that she was unmasked, though had pulled up her loose woollen jumper in a ludicrous gesture to the Covid toytown police state regime; yet the mere fact that she had no facemask muzzle on made my heart leap. Freedom!

More seriously, few really have much (if any) fear of “the virus” now (for good reason) but are complying with the facemask nonsense purely out of conformism and convenience. The whole nonsense of the “panicdemic” is ebbing away, not before time.

I, who once lived in London (mostly Little Venice, but also several other areas from time to time), now have not even visited the capital for over 4 years, and have not followed the contest for the position of Mayor in detail.
