Some reflections on Makerfield groups so far: 1. People really feel the weight of the vote. People are *far* more engaged than I've had in a by-election. For some its a burden, some a privilege. They don't see this as just electing 1 MP, but a decision with UK wide ramifications
3. In a twist, people really seem to like Josh Simons. Across groups people can point to things he's done, interactions they've had on issues like flooding/development – no other group in a seat occupied by a member of the 24 intake as the local MP got that level of praise.
4. While the groups split on Kenyon vs Burnham, they are united in dislike of the PM. This is very definitely one of the more hostile areas for Starmer we've visited. For some vote Burnham to get Starmer out is attractive, for others it's hard to conceive voting Labour might be…
6. Burnham's record as mayor is respected and people appreciate him as a contrast with Starmer. But there are weaknesses 1. Some think the image he portrays of Manchster is too rosy and "ignores the spice heads" 2. The abortive low emissions zone is biggest black spot on his…
I was talking about the “voting against rather than voting for” phenomenon on the blog years ago as a coming trend.
they want to know why having Burnham in parliament and eventaully as PM will benefit them – lots talk about the north/south divide, burnham is seen as a champion of the north – but what are the 5 'Makerfield tests' he'd apply in the future.
Many said if he'd apologised properly it would matter less. Substantively the comment about abortion probably seems like it might matter more than the sexist/misogynist comments, and there a degree of 'mind your own business'
10. Restore – who knows if it'll end up with any votes or be squeezed but there's no doubt they've cut through with voters who have noticed their presence.. Some on the right are mainly worried about them splitting the vote and i suspect a reform squeeze message would land.
Jewish Israeli psychiatrists recognize parts of the pathology, such as “Jerusalem Syndrome”, where tourists visiting the misnamed “Holy Land” are struck down by mania, some believing themselves to be, or be reincarnations of, Jesus Christ, Simon of Cyrene (who carried the Cross along the Via Dolorosa), Mary Magdalene etc.
Even entirely unlikely tourists, such as Japanese, have exhibited such symptoms.
The picture below shows a high-profile Jew-worshipping and Israel-worshipping loonie, the Argentinian President Milei, banging his head against the Wailing Wall (aka Western Wall, or kotel) in Jerusalem, and having an apparent meltdown:
Judicial systems across the Western world have been highjacked by legislation that leads to these pitiful sentences.
I’m aware that here in Britain, via the sentencing council, judges are guided to only use custodial sentences on minors as a “last resort” these days.
So one of the first things to note. The Government will say "we have published x thousands of documents". The reality is a vast number, if not the majority, have been redacted to the point they are meaningless.
On 18th November 2025 Peter Mandelson sent David Lammy a hand-written note in which he says ”I just wanted you to know that if you were minded to appoint me I would make sure you never regret it”.

What Keir Starmer is currently asking the country to believe is that he decided to appoint Peter Mandelson as Ambassador to Washington, the most sensitive post in the UK diplomatic service, without a single piece of paper recording or documenting the decision.
Starmer-stein hates this country and all white British people, except those who do the bidding of the Jewish/Israel lobby and the NWO/ZOG cabals. He admitted it, in effect, years ago, when Emily Maitlis asked him, in 2023, whether he preferred Davos and its conclave of the mega-wealthy, or Westminster. He chose Davos. You could see it in his face, the belief that he (not yet Prime Minister) was already allowed to be around the so-called “global elite”.

An interesting historical conundrum. Many many people are, at long last, waking up to the fact that they have been sold an ahistorical package that simply does not add up in a number of ways (including literally).
As for Schindler’s List, that was a film based on the book Schindler’s Ark by one Thomas Keneally, an Australian born in 1935, who never even left Australia until the late 1960s, and never visited Poland until 1980 or 1981. Even Wikipedia (heavily “edited”, i.e. vandalized, by Jewish individuals and organizations on a number of topics) calls Schindler’s Ark “historical fiction“. It is no more a work of “history”, as such, than books such as Day of the Jackal.
The film, Schindler’s List, is even less accurate historically.
Incidentally, I myself knew a German lady, now-deceased, and from an aristocratic East Prussian and Austrian background (on the paternal and maternal sides respectively) who, aged only 13, was kept in the Soviet Union as a kind of hostage from 1939 to 1942 (her father was shot), and who managed to escape in the end, arriving in Iran with the (Polish) Anders Army and its dependants, and in time travelling on to British East Africa.
That lady, much later (1950s), lived in London with her British husband (whom she had married in the 1940s in East Africa); her story, in outline, was presented to the once-famous American Jew film director Otto Preminger [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Preminger] by a third party, a writer.
Preminger met that lady, and her far older husband (who had served as a British officer in the First World War) at an expensive hotel in London in, I believe, 1960.
Preminger told the couple that he was seriously interested in making a film about the events described, but that there would have to be one significant change: instead of just escaping from the Soviet Union, she would also have to have been, prior to that, also escaping from German forces…
Needless to add, the couple refused to agree on that basis; the film was therefore never made.
That sort of experience has happened to several people with not-dissimilar stories, though most had not that lady’s extra “glamour” details such as her having met, as a child, luminaries such as Yusupov (who killed Rasputin), and Marshal Mannerheim of Finland (to whom she was in fact distantly related); in fact her family history on the paternal side could be traced back to a Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights and, on the maternal side, to Metternich.
People talk about “historical revision” and “revisionism”, but the real or first “revision” was done from the 1940s onwards by (mostly Jewish) film directors and writers. People are only now finding out that further historical revision is necessary in order to regain historical truth.

When Lewis was censured and fined by a Solicitors’ Disciplinary Tribunal in 2018 for abusing people online, including some Jews (he then fled, or pretended to flee, to Israel), his own (unpaid) Counsel told the Tribunal that Lewis should not be fined too much because his sole assets were his own clothes, a used mobility scooter, and a private pension worth £70 a week. The Tribunal reduced his fine accordingly (other Jews paid it).
Lewis is a total fake, a fraudster really, yet fanatical pro-Israel Jews are still to be seen on Twitter/X puffing his entirely invented reputation.
What troubles me is that I would have lost the litigation if Beth Grossman of Doughty Street, Daniel Berke of 3D Solicitors, and Mark Lewis of Patron Law had successfully misled the judge about the scale/extent of publication of the defamatory words.@BKGrossman@MLewisLawyerhttps://t.co/HIP6Zvu6m8pic.twitter.com/m5YlJcJKVl
Lewis’ point about extent of publication is particularly bad because he’d known for months about the true extent of publication in evidence he had failed to disclose to the court and me.

I should wager that now-washed-up one-time radio presenter and Z-list “celebrity”, Caroline Feraday, is thanking her lucky stars all the same that she dumped and divorced Lewis (the marriage lasted a year, back in or about 2013). Anyway, I believe that Lewis psychologically and physically abused her, so I expect she is glad to have got shot of the bastard after a short while.

I’ve dealt with some crackpot solicitors in my time, but Patron Law are special.
Patron Law— just another pack of dishonest Jews. As to those named solicitors from the Mills and Reeve firm, I do not know, and have never heard of them.
Some might say that the reason why Patron Law is avoiding disclosing their client’s file to me is because they know it will reveal the gory details of Lewis’ conduct.
If Patron Law were trying to protect Lewis, avoiding disclosing the file makes complete sense.
I suspect Daniel Berke trusted Mark Lewis’ competence and analysis in my case. TBF, he was not the only one.
My contempt for Berke is that it seems he will not stand up and say to Lewis/Patron Law: “This is awful. We must compensate our clients for what we did”. @3Dsolicitors

Had I been in the responsible position in Iran, I should have prepared well in advance (as the Israelis did). Not only in the obvious ways. For example, the Iranians, via their Hezbollah proxies, and with better technical and financial resources, could have dug very deep tunnels from pro-Iran areas of Lebanon, much deeper than those uncovered in Gaza, and penetrated Northern Israel using those. Via such tunnels, mobile flying columns on jeeps, and also using armoured vehicles including armoured cars and even tanks, could then have emerged as a viable fighting force somewhere in Northern and maybe even Central Israel itself, perhaps as special forces used only to attack targets of the highest strategic importance on the ground.
Obviously, those proxy forces would then have waited before launching their attacks, not (as they did) attacking prematurely a couple of years ago. Co-ordination. Strategy. Logic. Remember Clausewitz— concentration of forces; Schwerpunkte.

Typical. “They” are always bullies, but cringe when they themselves are attacked, and then present themselves as “victims”.
Netanyahu claims that Iran has or had 20,000 missiles, not the 3,000 figure bandied about. That means that, even if the Israelis are destroying 95% of those incoming, there might yet be up to 1,000 able to reach their targets.
As previously blogged, for me the three main strategic targets in Israel must be the city of Tel Aviv (particularly targets of military or economic importance), the Ben-Gurion Airport 12 miles southeast of Tel Aviv, and the Dimona nuclear research/weapons complex in the Negev Desert in southern Israel.
There may be other worthy targets of strategic importance unknown to me (and/or completely secret) of course, but concentration of forces doctrine dictates choice of target; not everything can be hit by an attacking force anyway.

Interesting. So the Israelis hide command centres under civilian hospitals…is that why they destroyed the hospitals in Gaza, because they knew or assumed that Hamas was doing the same?
According to Israel's own logic, Israel is using human shields; they set the Mossad Headquarters, IDF Headquarters, Iron Dome units and other legitimate targets in the densely populated area of Tell Aviv.
Well, I myself would not have “supported” the Jewish state no matter how restrained were its attacks on Gaza, but it is true that the brutal quasi-genocidal flattening of Gaza has opened many eyes to the nature of the Israeli Jews and their semi-ethnostate.
What Piers Morgan misses is the hidden agenda of the Jew-Zionists— to deport the surviving population of Gaza to concentration camps in the region, then repopulate the Gaza Strip with Jews either from Israel or from the USA and other parts of the world where Jewish populations exist.

It just doesn’t feel like England anymore. Does all of this make our country richer? It certainly doesn’t feel like it, walking through the decaying heart of almost every town in the country. The quiet, relentless erosion of community by the sheer scale and pace of change imposed from above – the sense that we were one nation, one people. It all just feels gone. When gangs of foreign men loiter on street corners, shouting in their own language, drinking and spitting. Are we supposed to just accept that as normal? Is that now what our country is? Women feeling intimidated in their own towns? Because I don’t like it. It did not used to be like this. It’s not England. And it doesn’t have to be like this. The change that has been imposed on us? As for Starmer-stein, not only a puppet of Israel and the Jew-Zionist lobby in the UK, but a complete idiot. As that last tweeter says, he searches vainly for relevance, like Sadak seeking the waters of oblivion…
Sky News and ABC correspondent Alastair Bruce, a former TA/Reserves major-general, educated at Milton Abbey School and Sandhurst, does not know when or not to put an apostrophe (“field marshals”, not “Field Marshal’s“) “…; also wrongly uses upper case “B” for “batons”, and upper case “F” and “M” for “field marshals”. Standards are falling through the floor.
I see no rush, on the part of the fanatical Jew-Zionists in the UK, to fly to Israel’s aid (admittedly they could not anyway, when the only international civil airport is closed). They prefer to sit in front of their computers in this country, maliciously “reporting” so-called “antisemitism” online, and urging mass slaughter in Gaza, the West Bank, and now Iran.

Is 'lawyer' Sir Keir Starmer – in effect telling Parliament that a crime – an illegal & unprovoked attack – when committed by his friend (Israel) – resulting in death – is not illegal murder – as the dead victim was not very nice?
Israel has the world’s largest per capita nuclear stockpile, has never signed a non-proliferation treaty, has never been inspected by the IAEA — and their nukes are controlled by a man wanted for war crimes by the ICC.
But sure, tell us more about “good guys” vs “bad guys”.
National Socialism was of its time and place, but the essence of its inner ideology or philosophy —European culture and civilization as the basis for future human evolution— lives on.
Thomas Kendrick spent over four decades operating covertly within the British Secret Service, leaving no unpublished memoirs, with his personal papers destroyed after his death and no obituaries published in British national newspapers.
The version using something such as Bisto is not at all to my taste but, apart from that, Woolton Pie seems at least acceptable for non-carnivores such as me. The original version had either margarine or (non-veg) lard, but the modern version is entirely vegetarian, or can be.

thank you, this is such a big concern, having three teenage daughters, the difference in the safety and freedom I had at their age compared to what they have now is huge.
The Conservative Party is close to being finished. Labour is now committing suicide similarly. The LibDems are just a joke party, pointless and stupid. That leaves Reform, which is not social-national, but merely conservative-nationalist, and which may be in government after 2028/2029. After that, the only way to go will be proper social nationalism.

Interesting to hear Patrick O’Flynn [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_O%27Flynn], former UKIP MEP and journalist, use the term “System” as I do on the blog (as when he says, there, “System people“). Reform are now beating Labour in the polls. Labour are losing a member every 10 minutes. Reform could soon overtake them there too.
But on WhatsApp Andrew Gwynne cheered on members leaving.
Labour is heading for annihilation because it has hundreds of idiots like him as MPs. pic.twitter.com/CqaskS736T
Unpleasantness ran and runs right though “New Labour”, and Starmer-Labour is just a pointless, meaningless offshoot of Blair-Brown “New Labour”.
Bastani is right, of course, about the appallingly-low quality of MPs. Since 1997 and, particularly, 2010 (and as often said by me on the blog), that fact is inescapable. Not just in fake Labour though; also true of the fake “Conservative” Party, and fake “Liberal Democrat” Party (remember Jo Swinson?).
Reform UK is “controlled opposition”, of course, but is moving the Overton Window. When that has moved far enough, social nationalism can enter the arena.
Blast from the past: the “Mrs Duffy” moment in 2010
Mrs Duffy, uneducated, “ignorant” etc, knew far more than “educated” fake “big brain”, globalist puppet Gordon Brown. In the past 15 years, her superior understanding of the mass immigration crisis (if not put in a very polished way, so be it) still resonates —in fact, more than even in 2010— whereas Gordon Brown is just a washed-up System politician now exposed as far from the great mind he (and his tendentious wife/carer/psychiatric nurse) thought.
Aaron Bastani is far from my position, ideologically. Having said that, he often speaks the truth as he sees it.
Both Lab and Con parties, the main two System parties, are losing all credibility; the LibDems, as “dustbin” or “default alternative” party, never had much to lose.
Trump, and Trump’s White House
Of course, it is easy to see the Trump White House as a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, looking at recent tweets etc (see below)
Elon Musk's son tells Trump, “You’re not the President and you need to go away” pic.twitter.com/z3e09vbXBL
Looks as though Musk should have a word with the child’s nanny. The child seems short on good manners. (I have to admit that it made me laugh, though; look at Trump’s expression!).
Very odd. Where did the child hear that, to regurgitate it?
That scene really does seem mad, disorderly.
On the other hand, until Trump took over, the international situation, and several regional issues, seemed stuck in glacial mud. He has disrupted that pattern. As psychologists say, a “pattern-interrupt”.
It may seem absurd to want to buy Greenland, annex Canada, and turn the Jew-Zionist-devastated Gazan hellscape into a Mediterranean beach resort, but all of those ideas have at least made people think about alternative realities.
To compare Trump’s disruptive ideas to the campaigns of Alexander the Great may seem to stretch “first time tragedy, second time farce“, in the famous comment of Marx, to breaking point, but history is sometimes moved by ideas that seemed absurd.
Look at the state of Israel itself. When Herzl and others first came up with the idea of Israel as a state, they were just a few Jews in the lower strata of the Russian and Austro-Hungarian empires. Their ideas seemed crazed, and they themselves had no genuine ancestral link to Palestine, which was then one of the poorer provinces of the Ottoman Empire. Also, the Ottoman Empire might have been “the sick man of Europe” but it sat there, apparently immovable in its vast power.
Is Trump trying to make his Gaza plan (“Club Trump?) seem more credible by hiding it among even crazier-seeming plans? One thinks of stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, and E.W. Hornung.
Where do you hide a pebble? On a beach. Where do you hide a murder? Among other apparently-similar murders. Where do you, as a fugitive person, hide? Not in isolated places but in a big city. So where do you hide your plan to seize Gaza? Among other apparently-mad plans.
A paranoid analysis, possibly; also, though, possibly, accurate.
Trump cannot realistically seize Canada. He cannot, either, seize Greenland, not without smashing NATO to pieces. He could, however, take over Gaza. The Israelis (quelle surprise) seem open to the idea. After all, from where would come most if not all inhabitants of the proposed Club Trump, Club Gaza? Israel, of course, or Jew-Zionist settlers from places such as New York City.
“Greater Israel”, in some form, seems more than a mere “conspiracy theory”.
When Trump was serving out his first term, this blog described him as “a loudly-squawking parrot in a gilded cage, guarded by a phalanx of Jews“, and that remains broadly the case, but perhaps less so in this second term. Trump no longer needs the Jewish lobby or Israel lobby for political purposes, though he would not want to make an enemy of them either, whether for political or business reasons.
Trump may be thinking in terms of “legacy”, especially after the assassination attempt(s).
Looks as though Trump is also determined to bring an end to the war in and around Ukraine. He must know that the quickest way to do that is to restrict or stop money, arms, and ammunition flowing to the Kiev regime.
That “charity” was set up by Rory Stewart himself. His wife was an employee of his prior to their marriage. I believe that she was married or engaged to someone else at the time. She is half-Jewish, I believe. See also:
My assessment of Stewart, published in 2019 and updated over the years, has proven to be fairly popular with readers. He himself is part-Jew, incidentally, a fact of which I admit I was unaware until an alert blog reader sent information (read the published assessment).
As for Stewart’s wife and that “artwork” etc, funny how “they” are always around when degenerate influences are promoted.
FACT: Whites are 9% of world population and must be protected as an endangered human species…rethink the racist model and see the truth: whites are being decimated by racism.
Ukraine's President Zelensky says he won't accept any peace deal reached between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin without Ukraine's involvement – follow live https://t.co/Hid5lUXJz6
Zelensky is living on borrowed time. How long before tidal waves of tanks roll into Kiev?
As soon as the money/arms/ammunition tap is shut off, or the flow reduced to a trickle, the Kiev regime will just implode. “Ukraine” is not a real state at all.
Full quote: “I welcome what the Minster has said from the despatch box. Can I ask the Minister if she agrees with me that in this new world, and in the event of any peace deal, that the United Kingdom and its European allies must lead in providing Ukraine with military support…
It always looks ludicrous when “British” politicians of today try to play the “war leader and statesman” card, even when they have some underwhelming “military experience”; neither Sunak nor Starmer have any at all. Neither, of course, has Maria Eagle, a former solicitor best known as MP for having been an expenses cheat [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Eagle#Expenses_controversy].
Maria Eagle is a member of Labour Friends of Israel, of course.
Look and learn. When “they” have power, as in Russia/Soviet Union after the Bolshevik “Revolution” (coup d’etat).
If some of the Palestinian Arabs sometimes do monstrous things, as on the day or two before the Israeli attack on Gaza in 2023, it is because they have been made monstrous by, mainly, Jewish/Israeli behaviour.
That might translate into a Commons with 276 Reform UK MPs! Also, according to Electoral Calculus [https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html] 139 Lab, 108 Con, 59 LibDem, 4 green, 40 SNP; 24 others.
Still no majority (50 short), but I imagine that, under those circumstances, some Con MPs would defect, and others support ad hoc.
Were Reform to be able to get even one extra point, to 30%, then, even with other figures unchanged, its MP cadre would be around 298 (Lab 129, Con 95, LibDem 60).
Were Reform on 30% and Cons a point lower than in the opinion poll, i.e. on 20%, Reform would have 318 MPs, 8 short of a majority but with very close to a working majority. The Cons, though would have only 75 MPs.
For the long-established Conservative Party, effectively terminal. Not even the official Opposition. Maybe not even the third party.
Tim Montgomerie has recently opined that the Conservative Party might be expiring; for once, I agree with him. Or does he, belatedly, agree with me?
Fake “Labour” will decline but not so far or so fast, because about 20%, maybe more, of the electorate is now black/brown, and that percentage will increase inexorably, because few white/British children are being born. Virtually all the births now are from the ethnic minorities (who, within half a century, will certainly be the majority, unless action is taken to prevent that). They all vote Labour; at least 90% of them do.
Opinion polls suggest that among those aged 18-24, only about 5%, if that, vote Conservative; about 80% vote Labour. Who are those young voters? Largely, the non-whites.
So today we learn GDP-per-person down again in Britain. Why? Because all that mass low-skill, low-wage immigration is not making us more prosperous and productive as experts promised. On the contrary, it’s making us poorer and eroding living standards https://t.co/bH1j3G70WM
As the Dad’s Army character used to say (about inserting cold steel into the fuzzie-wuzzies) “they don’t like it up them!“
Rory Stewart, as “Conservative” Party MP, voted for all the mean-spirited social-security/”welfare” cuts of the 2010-2015 Cameron-Levita misgovernment. Now his (or his wife’s, which is effectively the same) far more generous “welfare” has been cut back, it’s all unfair and wrong, apparently.

Here is the clip.
Suella Braverman is branding all the pro-Palestinian marches as “hate marches” which have the aim, in her view, of “wiping Israel off the map”.
She includes all the tens of thousands of protestors in that statement.
Suella Braverman has nothing but her political career. She was no more than mediocre as barrister: her “KC” status is an honorific one, in effect, granted after she became Attorney-General; in fact, at one time, all MP-barristers were granted “KC” on the nod (one such, in the 1960s, was John Mortimer, the writer). Suella Braverman will never return to the practising Bar.
My view is that Suella Braverman can see the way the wind is blowing; most Con Party MPs will not be MPs after next year. She, however, is in a very safe Con Party seat (Fareham), where she scored 63.7% of the vote in 2019. She will almost certainly be re-elected in 2024.
Suella Braverman’s populist anti-migration-invasion stance will also prove popular (both in Fareham and elsewhere). Even I like the (empty) rhetoric. In a Conservative Party in which many of the recent quasi-“big beasts” are or soon will be gone (stepped down or chucked out) or discredited (e.g. Liz Truss), Suella Braverman might actually be in a strong position to become leader of whatever rump rabble of Con Party MPs is left, especially with her supposedly (?) anti-immigration, and other, rhetoric.
As to the Jew/Israel aspect, she is married to a Jew (and he certainly sounds like a Zionist, pro-Israel Jew). She has effectively pledged fealty to the Jewish lobby by attending their dinners etc; and now this. She needs to get the Israel lobby and/or Jewish lobby onside if she is going to try for the Con Party leadership.

For the first time in 1,000 years you have the Shiites and Sunnis who are united with one purpose, to STOP Israel. Instead of responding to this the President as he always does is escalating. China's representative to the United Nations: We express our deep sympathy to the people of Gaza and call on all parties to stop the war and prevent further escalation of the conflict.
This is what the supporters of Israel in the UK and elsewhere are supporting, whatever weasel words they may utter.
Incidentally, it was —almost boringly— to be expected that the “human rights specialists”, often Jewish lawyers, in England, almost all seem to have fallen silent; a few are even excusing Israel, while whining at the same time how they feel “afraid” to keep on living here because they saw a Swastika drawn on a wall as they drove past somewhere, or they heard a few chants by Palestinians on TV news reports. What hypocrites (also expected, frankly…).

This is a fantastic argument against censorship. I've been following and learning about World War 2 for decades and I've never seen this video. Maybe if everything that has anything to do with N@ZI Germany wasn't censored people would know what really happened. https://t.co/Nl6UdYhnrz
Even discounting the obvious propagandistic element (in which all the main parties of WW2 indulged), the film is interesting. I was always struck by how healthy most of those released from German camps looked, as seen in Allied, not in German, films. For example, there are photographs of women released from concentration camps into the custody of the Swedish Red Cross in 1945. They all look healthy, not starved, and in fact quite normal physically.
It never was about just confederate statues clearly
He had a point, looking at the symbiotic relationship between technical innovation, industrial change, and social change in, say, the 19th Century. Not for nothing did Engels go to the rapidly expanding industries of Manchester and other parts of the North of England in order to study both the new industrial working classes and the parallel socio-political ferment of the early Victorian period.
That answer sure does sound a lot more like the young, foreign men pouring into Germany than it does the young German men they’re replacing.

Unfortunately for her, the evidence of @BootstrapCook’s poverty-cosplaying lying about her wealth, Kickstarter, Teemill, Patreon, fake Lee Anderson libel fundraising & other scams are all still widely & readily available online, in archives, screenshots/recordings & oth. channels
As of today, a hard core of 411 utter mugs are still sending “Jack Monroe” between £3.50 and £44 a month via Patreon. For (literally) jack s**t.
Even at the lowest level of “patronage”, that comes to £1438.50 a month, in cash. If all the mugs are giving £5 a month, the total would be £2,055 a month; at £10 each, £4,110 a month. In the admittedly unlikely case that all the mugs are giving £44 each, that would add up to over £18,000 a month. My guess? She is getting about £5,000 a month in cash from her mug-base.

I blogged years ago about how, when I was at the old Warsaw airport in December 1988 (quite nice— white marble floors and oriental-style carpets in the cafe), waiting for a late flight to London, I got talking to the only other person there, a youngish American (I suspect, Jew) wearing an overcoat and hat (there was snow on the ground outside the terminal). It turned out that he was the Newsweek correspondent for Eastern Europe, which meant everywhere from the West German frontier to the Soviet one, and south/southeast as far as the Black Sea and Adriatic.
That young or youngish person, maybe late twenties, covered the waterfront of Central and Eastern Europe from Bonn, of all places. I quickly established that I, myself only an occasional visitor to places such as Poland, nonetheless knew far more about the situation there than he did, yet his magazine (and so all its readers) relied on him for accurate reportage. Enlightening.
American news magazines are pretty poor; the best was probably the one to which I used to subscribe when in the USA in the early 1990s, U.S. News and World Report. That magazine ceased print publication long ago.
“The engineer battalions of the 33rd Mechanized and 47th Assault Brigades, the lead formations in Ukraine’s 2023 counteroffensive, suffered heavy equipment losses in their assault just south of Mala Tokmachka last week.
The losses include at least five of the battalions’ specialized engineering vehicles. Fitted with mineplows and minerollers, these vehicles lead tanks and infantry fighting vehicles through minefields, plowing and rolling a path so the tanks and IFVs can break through enemy defenses.
The Russian air force moreover has control of the air over the southern front line and has been able to fly back-to-back sorties with attack helicopters and fighter-bombers—a critical advantage that Ukraine’s ground-based air-defenses haven’t been able to blunt.“

I cannot, however, think of a suitable punishment for Johnson.
