Similar to many other recent polls. Reform more than simply “well ahead”; really the only contender at present. Labour abandoned by senior citizens/pensioners, and most white English/British voters generally, and even by “the young” (16-24 age group), who are switching to Green or the LibDems.

Labour is now really just the party of a small tranche of virtue-signalling English/British idiots, some of the better-paid public service workers, and some of the ethnic minorities, mainly the blacks and Pakistanis etc, though Starmer-stein’s Israel puppetry or serfdom has turned off even many of those.

As for the Conservative Party, its voter base is now almost exclusively those better-off pensioners who do not really keep up with events, and have voted Conservative all their lives. Habit voters.

It is not impossible to imagine a Con Party national vote of around 15% at the next general election, which would leave the Cons with as few as a couple of dozen MPs.

Well, the French Army (l’armee de terre) has, including all reserves, a strength of 150,000, so if casualties evacuated are to be 50,000, the dead and wounded together might be around (?) 75,000, i.e. half the strength of the entire land army.

Is Macron really intending to get involved in a war with Russia? Does he really think that he can re-introduce conscription in France? If so, how long does he think that he has to get untrained youths battle-ready from scratch?

Actually, if France gets involved in a war with Russia, 50,000 hospital beds will be far from enough— Paris has over 2M people, and might be subjected to attack by nuclear missiles, as might the major strategic military and naval facilities, such as the submarine base at Crozon in Brittany.

A second French Revolution might happen if Macron is doing more than rattling his sabre.

The Conservatives have been involved in a fresh bout of leadership speculation over the past week, after rumours surfaced of a plot to dump Sunak and replace him with Penny Mordaunt, the leader of the House, before the next election.

But Opinium found that of the four most likely replacements for Sunak, were there to be a contest – Mordaunt, James Cleverly, the home secretary, Suella Braverman, the former home secretary, and Kemi Badenoch, the business and trade secretary – only Mordaunt would have any positive effect at all on the Tory vote.

And even then, the “Mordaunt bounce” would only be marginal and still end in a large defeat.”

This is to what the Conservative Party is now reduced. Out of three potential party leaders, only one, Penny Mordaunt, is even English (Cleverly has an English father).

According to my use of Electoral Calculus, that would leave the Conservative Party with 124 MPs (Lab 437, LibDems 47, Greens 2, Reform UK 0); a bad defeat, but less of a complete collapse than shown in other recent polls (one of which put the Cons on only 19%).

The fact is that, since the 1970s, the UK has changed out of all recognition, and in the next 50 years will probably be completely ruined, unless something really big happens. A million a year coming in, and only about 200,000 a year leaving (but mostly English/British people emigrating to Australasia etc). Even in terms of sheer numbers, and “net”, 700,000+ every single year…unsustainable. UK society is already near breaking point.

After Russia’s victory in 2024-2025, there will have to be rebuilding of the infrastructure of however much of Ukraine will be under Russian administration.

Just as Osama bin Laden and his ghastly rabble were CIA creations, at root. The same with most of those groups.

I have been to, or through, Alexandropolis, or Alexandropouli as the Greeks call it: April 2001, when I drove from the UK to Turkey, a more difficult trip then than it is today (for several reasons). Alexandropolis is not very far from the border of Turkey; about a half-hour drive.

UK State Pension triple lock

For the Conservative Party, it is now not about trying to “win” GE 2024, but trying to mitigate losses— damage control.

Apart from the wealthy/very wealthy, the core Conservative Party vote is composed of persons over the age of 65. About 20% in toto. Recently, that core vote has been showing signs of erosion. Hence Jeremy Hunt’s triple lock pledge.

If the core vote stays quite firm, and the Conservative Party gets about 25% in the upcoming General Election, Con Party might expect to be left with maybe 100 MPs, possibly more if Labour dips below 45%.

If, on the other hand, the Cons only get 20%, their MP-cadre might only be 40. The first scenario is very bad for them but the second, disastrous.

Should the Con vote overall fall to 15% (admittedly unlikely), the number of Con MPs would fall below 15, effectively a wipe-out.

So that is Hunt’s idea. Keep the pensioners on board, and so end up in 2025 with 100+ MPs instead of 50 or fewer.

Anneliese Dodds, the uninspiring Labour Shadow Chancellor, has responded sluggishly to Hunt’s foray, and will not commit to the triple lock. Result— not a knockout, but a win on points anyway for Hunt and the Cons.

In reality, Hunt’s pledge was an easy and cheap one to make. He knows that there is a 99% (?) chance of the Conservative Party not forming the next government; he will never have to implement his “pledge”.

That being so, the pledge is worthless, and any thinking pensioner voter will (?) understand that it changes nothing, and the pensioner vote changes nothing, in terms of formation of the next government.

On the premises, that may mean that the “pledge” will not be fully effective in influencing intended voting. Still, it may have some effect.

I should add that, though I myself do now receive a State Pension, it is only about half of the maximum, by reason of my many years overseas. The pledge by Hunt therefore impacts me far less than it does others.

Retrospective laws are disapproved of in English law and tradition as unjust.

Good point. I have blogged about this in recent months. The population of Ukraine (including Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk regions etc) was about 43 million in 2021. However, in 1992, the population (including Crimea and the rest) was far higher, about 52 million. By 2014, the population had already decreased to about 45 million.

Ukraine’s population, for the past 30 years, has not been breeding fast enough to replace losses. That trend has now accelerated.

Possibly as much as a quarter of the 2021 Ukraine population has relocated beyond Ukraine’s borders.

The Russian or Russian-occupied areas (Crimea, Donetsk, Lugansk etc) contain several million people. Crimea has 2-3 million.

In other words, the parts of Ukraine currently under the control of the Kiev regime now have somewhere in the region of 20-25 million inhabitants.

Bearing in mind that the Kiev-regime army has lost at least 500,000 young or young-ish men since last year, and that the ~4-5 million Ukrainians now living overseas are disproportionately female, the future of Ukraine as a state looks precarious at best.

At least one of the pair mentioned is a Jew. He supports the migration-invasion of Europe by blacks and browns. Is that surprising to the above tweeter?

Saw on the TV news the first-ever filmed and broadcast sentencing, for murder. The judge was one Sarah Munro, i.e. H.H. Sarah Munro Q.C. I met her once in the (unisex) “advocate’s room” (robing room, as was) at Plymouth —or maybe Exeter, in fact; I cannot now recall— County Court (where I was appearing) and Crown Court (where she was appearing). Not sure whether she had taken silk at that point. Maybe. Sometime between 2002 and 2007. A very charming lady.

As to televised sentencing, I suppose it had to come eventually.

I was, when a practising barrister (1992-2008, with interruptions), always amazed at how few non-legal people even understood the basic court system. For example, the difference between a Crown Court and a County Court. Perhaps because they are now often in the same building. That should be taught, together with a few elementary legal concepts, at the secondary school level (as was done in ancient Rome). Either it is not being done in the UK, or not done effectively.

NATO (NWO) may believe that a conventional war in, say, Eastern Ukraine, or Western Ukraine, or elsewhere in Eastern Europe, will stay in its confines. That is very doubtful. That is because NATO cannot defeat Russia, not conventionally, not in Eastern Europe.

If (as all Pentagon and UK Staff College war games have shown…and probably also those of the Russian Stavka) a conventional war in that region would probably lead to the use of tactical nuclear weapons. The same war games indicate that use of tactical nuclear weapons leads on quickly to the use of strategic ICBMs. Disastrous for Europe and the whole world.

Were there ever to be a strategic nuclear exchange between NATO and Russia, the Russian state would be very badly damaged, possibly destroyed; however, so would the UK, not only as a state, but probably Britain and its people as an entity. Britain is small, heavily-populated, and packed with high-value targets: ports, airfields, nuclear submarine base(s), early-warning stations etc.

The only truly patriotic thing for anyone now in any position of power and responsibility in the UK to do is to refuse to take part in any war against Russia at present, and to make appropriate decisions.

A declaration of war against manifestations of contemporary white civilization. It may, eventually, come down to a war between an admittedly imperfect white culture, and the Jungle.

The post-2008 Greek experience is instructive. The social-national party, Golden Dawn, was the only party with integrity opposed to the EU enforcement of usury-dictatorship “austerity”. However, the System made sure that the faux-“socialist” “antifascist” party, Syriza, seemed more “credible”.

The result was that Syriza took over the Greek government, then signed up to yet more “austerity”. The people, many of whom died of starvation, while other rummaged through bins trying to find food, had been well and truly fooled. Golden Dawn was then repressed.

Once Syriza had done its job for the System, it was binned as a non-System alternative party of government. A neo-liberal finance-capitalist government took over. At present, Syriza is a poor second in the Hellenic Parliament. Alison Chabloz update

Usually-reliable sources report that, though Alison Chabloz was scheduled to be released from Bronzefield Prison today, and (how absurd, though) on electronic tag, bureaucratic delays to do with probation have pushed back the likely day of release to next Tuesday or Wednesday. Another example of how everything is sliding and becoming less efficient in the UK.

Looking on the brighter side, even a release next week will mean that Alison will have been imprisoned for only 5 weeks out of the headline 18 to which she was sentenced (in reality, about 7-8 weeks).

If Alison had not been scheduled for early release, she would be released anyway about halfway through May, so about 3 weeks from today.

Looking at the wider picture, Alison’s appeal against both conviction and sentence is set down for 2 days, on 3-4 June 2021, and is likely to be heard at Southwark Crown Court (it will be a complete rehearing of the matter).

Should Alison’s present appeal fail in whole or in part, the Crown Court will be able to substitute a greater or lesser sentence, up to a maximum of 6 months’ imprisonment. However, the time Alison has spent incarcerated will be taken off any time actually to be served, so if she were to receive the maximum 6 months (about 26 weeks), she would do half of that (3 months or about 13 weeks) but also minus the ~5 weeks served from day of sentence to (likely) day of release (next week), and also minus other days in custody, such as the 4 days served before her successful appeal of 2020. She would therefore only serve an extra ~7 weeks at maximum.

It may be, though, that the Crown Court would not, or not much, interfere with the sentence duration passed by the lower court if the appeal fails, in which case Alison would only serve a few days extra, if that.

More optimistically, should Alison’s present appeal succeed, then she would be credited with the time she has now spent in prison (in 2020 and 2021) and in other custody, and also the time which she will have spent on electronic tag (at half a day for every day spent on tag). That is relevant because Alison now faces yet another trial in the magistrates’ court, set down for 1 day, on 1 September 2021.

Were Alison to be convicted on 1 September 2021, and were she then to be sentenced to imprisonment, not only would she serve only half of any such sentence, but would have about 6-7 weeks more taken off that reduced sentence. So a 6 month sentence would mean, in reality, about 5-6 weeks in prison, and a sentence of 3 months would mean no time at all in prison.

“Last Wednesday (21.04.2021) Laura Towler’s husband Sam was arrested and taken into police custody. The police then let themselves into Laura and Sam’s home, burst into her bedroom without knocking whilst she was still undressed, and then demanded to search the property.

The officer in charge did not arrest Laura, and instead presented her with a warrant, and despite the warrant not mentioning Laura at all, the police took all of her devices – including her phone and laptop.

What’s more, many of the police officers conducting the search refused to hand over the badge numbers or their real names.

For once, I do agree with the egregious Lewis, on the above matter. There again, who could disagree? A long-running and appalling miscarriage of justice affecting people who are all but powerless, and who are often very good citizens as well.

When I spent a number of months in Turkey in 2001 (I drove from the UK), I found that the best beer there (to my taste) was called Tekel beer, made by a State-owned brewery. Sadly, no longer. Privatized, apparently, and changed out of all recognition.

I think that Hitchens was referring to the film; he would obviously assume that the background “street noise” was added more recently…
