The former NHS nurse then physically lunged at him when he attempted to pick it up.

“Violent anti-racism protester avoids jail for attacking police.
A Left-wing activist has avoided jail for a second time after attacking a police officer.
Caroline Leneghan, 43, assaulted the female officer while being arrested for being drunk and disorderly at a pub in Pokesdown, Dorset, on Dec 27 last year.
Leneghan previously escaped prison for assaulting a man at a migrant hotel protest.
Poole magistrates’ court heard the police van taking Leneghan to the station after the police officer assault had to stop twice because of her violent outbursts in the back.
At one stage, the former NHS nurse slipped out of her handcuffs and was said to have brandished them at the officer like a weapon before being restrained.
After pleading guilty to assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and the use of threatening language, Leneghan was fined £80 and ordered to pay £100 compensation to the officer she assaulted.
David Finney, prosecuting, told magistrates: “The defendant is alleged to have run towards a security guard to confront them and was described as shouting and screaming, so she was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and handcuffed.”
He added: “The officer said she feared she was going to be assaulted with the handcuffs.”
Juliet Osborne, mitigating, said Leneghan was pregnant and in a “heightened” state outside the pub as her former partner had been racially abused by a group of men.
She said Leneghan had been in “excruciating” pain as the handcuffs had trapped a nerve on her wrist.
Ms Osborne added: “She has reflected on the incident and expresses remorse and regrets the fact that [the police officer] felt she was in danger. It was not her intention to make her feel that way.”
During the rally in the summer of 2025, Leneghan snatched an iPhone from Dylan Fontaine and smashed it on the ground. Leneghan then lunged at Mr Fontaine when he attempted to pick it up.

Lucky defendant…
In fact, there are several aspects to those two cases involving one (crazed “pisshead” pseudo-political “activist” woman) defendant that make them interesting from the socio-political and legal points of view.
First of all, look at that defendant (presumably of Irish origin at some point). Thank God she is no longer an NHS nurse. I should be interested to see what other previous convictions she has (which would not have been —considered— “relevant” to sentencing). I would be prepared to bet that there were some.
I note that the defendant’s “previous partner” was (claimed to have been) “racially abused“. So non-white, visibly non-Brit/non-European.
No occupation noted for the defendant, so probably an unemployed single mother of a mixed-race child, with the father not en poste except as a drinking partner…

I also note that the defendant was drinking heavily at the time of the second offence, despite being pregnant at the time. Not illegal (though it should be), but it says a lot about her. You can see from the newspaper photos that she is what is often termed a “pisshead”, probably without the willpower or inclination to stop drinking during her pregnancy.
Fortunately for her, I was not the sentencing “judge” (magistrate).

I am not a “hanger and flogger”, as I have noted before on the blog, but the devil is in the detail. “A national embarrassment“? That might be one way to describe Ian Austin himself, a former expenses-cheat MP, nominally “Labour” but “elevated” to the degraded life peerage by “Boris”-idiot.
Austin, a complete puppet of the Israelis and the Jewish lobby, apparently tweeted (I have screenshots, apparently genuine, and blogged using them years ago, and have never been sued, nor even threatened with action, by Austin) to the effect that bestiality pornography should be decriminalized. Hard to believe that he is now in the House of Lords, but that old institution is now so degraded that it really should be shut down.

That view of Austin’s was then discussed, sympathetically (!), on Twitter/X, by another Israel-lobby person, the Daily Mail scribbler, Sabrina Miller, who was involved with a few of the “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”] scams, such as the Mark Lewis/Mandy Blumenthal stunt against black comedian Reginald D. Hunter at the Edinburgh Fringe last year (2024).
Sabrina Miller was also one of the Jewish students at Bristol University who contrived to get anti-Israel academic Dr. David Miller sacked from the University (unlawfully, as it turned out; he later recovered substantial damages at an employment tribunal), another “CAA” conspiracy.
Both Reginald D. Hunter and Dr. Miller are now facing a different form of “CAA” scam— private criminal prosecutions. I hope that they not only secure acquittals but also secure substantial costs, as would be their right.
Incidentally, Austin (now, ludicrously, “lord” Austin) took part in conspiratorial discussions over years, trying to have me prosecuted re. my one time Twitter account (it was closed down by Twitter in 2018, at the behest, once again, of the Jewish lobby). He even wrote to the then Director of Public Prosecutions about me, demanding that I be prosecuted. In 2018, apparently. “They” and their puppets hate free speech.

Armed police threatened a peaceful protester with arrest under the Terrorism Act for holding a Palestinian flag and having signs saying “Free Gaza” and “Israel is committing genocide”, accusing her of supporting a proscribed organisation.
In the encounter, which she filmed, one officer told her: “Mentioning freedom of Gaza, Israel, genocide, all of that all come under proscribed groups, which are terror groups that have been dictated by the government.”
He went on to say that the phrase “Free Gaza” was “supportive of Palestine Action”, adding it was an offence “to express an opinion or belief that is supportive of a proscribed organisation, namely Palestine Action is an offence under section 12(1A) of the Terrorism Act”. The officer told her she had committed that offence.
Speaking to the Guardian, Murton said: “I don’t see how anything I was wearing, how anything I was displaying, anything I was saying, could be deemed as supportive of the proscribed group.
“It’s terrifying, I was standing there thinking, this is the most authority, authoritarian, dystopian experience I’ve had in this country, being told that I’m committing terrorist offences by two guys with firearms.”

I myself have had encounters over the past decade or so with similar woodentops, police “officers” who both over-estimate their own lawful powers and, also, fail even to understand what the relevant law is.
My own encounters had nothing directly to do with Palestine but did have everything to do with malicious Jew-Zionists and Israel fanatics making up contrived and false allegations and complaints. “Slitherman”, of the so-called “Campaign Against Antisemitism”, is one of the worst.
Having spent much of my adult life in rental properties (everything from single bedsit rooms to a 26-bedroom historic house occupied only by me, my wife, and one cat), I oppose rental deposits. Completely. I suggest that tenants simply be required to pay an increased rent instead. Somewhere in the region of £5 per week.

About 20 months ago, Gazan militants attacked southern Israel. Many Israelis (mostly military-connected, some civilian) were killed, some abducted. Since then, the Israeli Jews have killed or seriously wounded, or starved to death etc, or prevented from getting medicines, or even water, about 200,000 Gazans, mostly civilians, mostly women and children. As for the ridiculously high pay (£3,000 for one shift), in 2006 or 2007 I was briefed to represent a crap Dutch locum hospital doctor (and not a “consultant”) at Cambridge County Court. His NHS pay for a single shift had been over £600— and that was nearly 20 years ago, so you could certainly double or even triple that in today’s money. Incidentally, he had been working 6-7 days per week.

Kenny Sharp, mitigating, said: “Maximum credit for an early guilty plea. This is a person who is struggling to come to terms with the reality of what she did. Immediate custody would have a significant impact on her two children.“
The defendant was handed a 12-month custodial sentence suspended for two years. She must also complete 12 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days and 200 hours of unpaid work.“

If I’m allowed to be proud of my half Iranian heritage (I am: the history, the language, the food, the architecture, the people, the literature) but certain others aren’t, it seems obvious that that creates a major source of unfairness.

Conditions of service, and the overall s**t-state of the country in many respects mean that few want to volunteer, yet the woodentopped generals and retired senior officers are always talking in the newspapers or on TV about “preparing for war” and about conscription. I think that they may find themselves in that situation where “what would happen if there were a war, and no-one came?” (to the recruitment centres or to the war) (come to think of it, are there any “recruitment centres” anyway these days?).
