Storm overflow discharges and accidental spills are a hazard to human health. Not only are the slicks deeply unsettling to behold (as this viral video shows), they are also toxic. In 2020, there were 153 reports of sickness from people using sites affected by overflow discharges.

Looking at the Conservative Party leadership contest, I saw part of an interview with Suella Braverman. Unimpressive. Her knowledge-level is inadequate for the role she wishes to play. Indeed, many have said that she should even never have been appointed Attorney-General (and, with that, granted automatic letters-patent as Queen’s Counsel).
There was a time when any barrister who became an MP could apply to become QC, and be granted it on the nod, which is how otherwise unlikely barristers such as John Mortimer (the Rumpole writer) got the rank. Now no longer so.
Ironic in a way, that it is now more difficult for barristers who are MPs to apply for letters-patent to become “QC” when, for all other barristers, it has never been easier. About 10% of all practising barristers are now “QC”. Devalued, like most other ranks, titles, and honours these days.

The Conservative party leadership contest is a classic example of a rigged “false choice” election. Not one candidate who is really social-national (even slightly), and most candidates Jew or non-white.

Incidentally, Jessica Simor never said a word to defend my free speech rights, neither when a pack of Jews calling themselves “UK Lawyers for Israel”, closely connected to (almost identical with) the “Campaign Against AntiSemitism”, complained about me to the Bar Standards Board, which is now the Bar “regulator”, nor since that time.
As a result of that malicious Jewish/CAA complaint, I was disbarred (as it now turns out, not only wrongfully but actually unlawfully) in late 2016, some 8 years after I had in fact given up Bar practice.
I had not practised law for 6 years prior to the Jews’ complaint (2014), and for 8 years prior to the actual Bar Disciplinary Tribunal hearing (late 2016).

Either the western allies act decisively, right now, to halt this war by demanding an immediate ceasefire and threatening and, if necessary, launching direct military intervention to secure it – as previously urged in this space.
Or, alternatively, Truss, Austin and other hawks stop stoking the fire and setting unrealistic goals, and instead advise Kyiv to accept a negotiated settlement that, regrettably, will inevitably reward Putin’s aggression.“

The former U.S. ambassadress in Kiev, 2016-2019, was also Jewish (at present, the US Embassy at Kiev is headed by a Charge d’Affaires).
As to the general situation in the region, events have moved closer to what I was predicting a few weeks ago, i.e. that Russian forces would seize Eastern Ukraine (Ukraine east of the river Dnieper), the Kiev area, and the Black Sea littoral from Trans-Dniestria to the mouth of the Dnieper and further east to the present Russian border.
As previously blogged, such a strategy would leave Russia in control of 6 of the largest 7 cities in Ukraine, Lvov alone remaining in the hands of the present Kiev government, assuming that it still exists by then.
The above strategy would place all seaports, including the largest (Odessa) in Russian hands; also all river ports of significance.
That strategy would also join Crimea to Russia via south-eastern Ukraine.
Most of the important industrial areas would also fall.
As noted in previous blog posts, it is hard to see how the present state of Ukraine, under the present Kiev government, could continue to exist except as a rump state based on Lvov, controlling mostly agricultural areas in Western Ukraine but without the means of easily-exporting its produce.
If Russian forces move to encircle Kiev, the present Kiev government will face the choice either of being captured, or of withdrawing to Lvov, about 40 miles from the Polish border.
Should Russian forces capture Kiev, and with it the present government, I should expect the present Kiev governmental leaders to be allowed to go into exile. The Russians would then find a suitably pro-Russian interim President and Prime Minister.
Should the Russians achieve their immediate objectives, a pro-Russian government in Kiev might face an anti-Russian government based on Lvov, which might in turn lead either to compromise or to a civil war in the (inland) west of the country, as the long-running civil war in the east comes to an end with victory for the Russians and pro-Russians.
Russia would control most of the electrical power output for the whole of Ukraine (and, of course, the supplies of natural gas).
The latest newspaper (Daily Mail) map seems to indicate that most military strategists are now completely in line with my own thinking:

As noted in past blogs, Russian air power is overwhelming in theatre, the Kiev government controlling fewer than 100 fighters, as against several thousands of Russian fighters, as many as 1,500 of which may be effectively in theatre.
Russia is likely to have almost complete air superiority, thus protecting its ground (and naval) forces, themselves far more numerous and of higher quality than most of those of Ukraine.
The fact is, that the Kiev government has no chance of resisting for longer than a few weeks, at best. The volunteers and others preparing to resist invasion are being set up for defeat by their own government.
One can only hope that civilian casualties, and destruction in residential areas, can be kept to a low level.
Putin and his advisers can now be sure that the USA and allies in NATO will not be fighting in this “short war”. Russia has a clear field. As for the posturing of the likes of “Boris” Johnson and Liz Truss, I doubt whether that weighs even slightly in the Kremlin.
Was it Teddy Roosevelt who described diplomacy as the necessity to “speak softly but carry a big stick“? Whatever. Johnson and Truss have done the opposite, loudly reproving Putin, while very obviously having nothing with which to back up their bellicose words. Absurd. Well, we should know within a few days whether any of the last-minute diplomacy and loud criticism of Putin can change anything. I doubt it. Everything (except the relatively mild weather) is in Russia’s favour now; this time next year, things may be far less favourable.

I have not watched GB News as such, but today saw an interview via Twitter. The interviewee was the sinister Jew-Zionist, Stephen Silverman, “Head of Investigations and Enforcement” at the fake “charity” known as “Campaign Against Antisemitism” or “CAA”.
The interview on GB News was not so much an interview, more the presenters allowing Silverman to make a long and dull statement whining about how Twitter had seen through the fake CAA “charity” and had then binned the CAA as a “partner organization” re. issues around supposed “antisemitism”.

The ruling circles of the West (aka “the international conspiracy/consensus”, or “the System”) preferred the UK to remain part of the EU, because they think in terms of blocs of power. The EU controlled the UK and the other nations of Europe and was tightening that control. Having said that, a managed, controlled Brexit did not seriously threaten that matrix, because it just pulled the UK closer to the equally NWO/ZOG USA. They win either way. That’s their thinking.

I remember going to Macao for the afternoon when I visited Hong Kong 15 years ago (2006). On my return to HK by hydrofoil, white-coated medics awaited. Notices informed me that, should my temperature (taken from a distance while walking through) be high, I would be detained without the option. It was a warm day…thankfully, it seems that, though I felt warm, I was not too warm! Glad to get through, and not be bundled away to God knows where. Is that coming here too?

Hitchens must ask why “undemocratic” ideas are gaining in popularity. It is because “democracy”, both in the UK and elsewhere (France, USA etc), is not delivering.
I've got an amazing idea to deal with crime and stabbings and street thugs. Let's find physically imposing men, over 5'11 tall, teach them the basics of law and how to handle themselves, and have them walk routes around cities every day deterring crime.

Yes, abstaining from voting may deprive a political party from having “legitimacy” (so long as everyone abstains) but that would not, even in that extreme scenario, deprive that party from having and exercising power, at least not so long as one voter votes, or a small number vote. In the end, a corrupt electoral system can either be reformed by the reasoned consent of the ruling cliques (as in the UK in the 1830s, with the Reform Acts et seq.) or, failing that, by physical overthrow…

Exactly. Just as happened months ago to my mother-in-law, who was routinely and frequently tested when in hospital with a fracture, and then found (assuming that the test was accurate) to have “the virus” after she had been in the hospital for weeks. No symptoms, either before the test or after it. She was eventually discharged, never having had any symptoms. Her age at the time? 99! Oh, and had she died (from any cause) within 28 days of discharge, she too would have “died within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test” and would have been pressed into service as part of the statistical scam around the “panicdemic”.
Talking about the “panicdemic”, I visited a Tesco supermarket today, about 6 miles from my home. Most of the shoppers were “rabbits” (masked serfs), but there was a sizeable minority (including me) maskless. No-one (whether “rabbit” or Tesco staff) said a word to me in criticism, though I saw that Tesco employees almost all were muzzled (with completely pointless, useless, cloth masks). Probably told by managers to wear them.
