Blog readers
I am always interested to see from where hits on the blog come. In the past week, from 16 different countries (inc. UK). Of course, with advances in technology, you cannot say for sure where readers are located; some may be, say, in Australia but appear to be in the USA, but I daresay most locations are accurate.
I was just looking at the apparent location of readers since I started the blog towards the end of 2016, so 8 years ago. Readers from 155 countries and territories in the world, so from about three-quarters of the world. There are 195 states in the world, plus some extra territories that do not have that status (such as Antarctica— and, yes I have had the odd hit from there, presumably from some scientist at a polar research base).
I have occasionally mused on who it might be in (inter alia) Lesotho, Antarctica, Greenland, Burkina Faso, the Aaland Islands (maybe I can guess who that particular one is), American Samoa, Chad, Tadjikistan, or Congo-Kinshasa, that is reading my thoughts and ideas.
The largest number of hits has always been from the UK, though (about 70%, with a further 10% from the USA).
The readership of the blog, on a daily basis, is still modest, never reaching over a thousand on any one day, and often not reaching even a hundred (I do not publicize the blog anywhere, and am not on Twitter/X or Facebook etc), but I have always taken the view that “one human soul is a big audience“.
Risible how System political scribblers, ivory-tower academics etc really still think that elections in the 2020s are still won by ridiculous local political footsoldiers knocking on doors, disturbing and and irritating householders, or by the voters reading the absolute shite put out on leaflets etc. This is 2024, not 1924…
John Rentoul seems unsure. He neither endorses nor dissents. He probably imagines that people actually read those (mostly) LibLabCon leaflets at election-time. Wrong; most, maybe 99%, go in the bin unread.

On a wider point, that whole traditional rank of “King’s Counsel” or KC should be done away with. Outdated, and now all but meaningless. As an ordinary barrister from 1991 (in practice from 1993) to 1996, and then from 2002-2008, I encountered QCs (as they then were) in court a number of times, and did OK against them quite a lot of the time, if I say so myself. Sometimes they won, sometimes I won.
I believe that about 1 in 6 of practising barristers are now “KC”. In the past, particularly before the Second World War, the proportion was far smaller, partly because those in a position to recommend and/or make the decision were more selective; partly, also, because there were fewer applications, and that was partly because a “KC” then usually had to “lead” a junior (non-KC) barrister, and so cost the lay client 2x, sometimes 3x or more, in fees. Some took silk only to find that they became far less busy. These days, not only does a KC often appear alone, but in some cases even unattended by a solicitor.
I believe that I recall from the memoirs of Lord Denning [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Denning,_Baron_Denning] that when he “took silk” (became a KC), in 1938, there were only 4 such “letters patent” granted that year, including his own. In 2024, no less than 100 persons became “KC” (5 honorary only, 95 ordinary).
Of course, in recent decades, arguably starting in the early 1990s, the pernicious influence of “political correctness” (now often termed “woke-ness”) has had its effect; it has never been admitted that the Bar now has some King’s Counsel appointed at least partly by reason of their “ethnic” background, but that such is the case is the opinion of not a few (including me).
Well, there it is.
As to Lord Denning, in his day, he was the most popular judge among the public; arguably the only popular judge, as well as the one with the most name-recognition. Opinion among barristers was less unmixed, though few if any would dispute his very great ability.
I saw Lord Denning up close only once or twice, notably when hurrying to the Library at Lincoln’s Inn in the early 1990s. My chambers were in the Inn at the time, and I was also a member of the Inn then (I was much later —2017— expelled, as an automatic consequence of my politically-procured disbarment of 2016).
I pushed open the very heavy oakwood Library door and missed, by only an inch or two, knocking over Lord Denning, who must have been about 94 (b.1899). I recall that he did not flinch, and smiled benignly as I held open the door for him.

Incidentally, just now looking at Wikipedia’s article on Denning, I see that, by 1936 (2 years before he took silk), his income was some £3,000 a year (arguably worth about £200,000 in the money of today, and income tax was far lower in 1936). Impressive, but the leading silk of the day, Birkett, at about that time had an income of £25,000 (between £1.5M and £2M today).
By comparison, in that era, domestic staff in a large country house might receive between £100 a year (kitchen maid) to £250-£500 a year (chief gamekeeper, or for a valued chief cook or butler in a great household). Of course, most were fed, clothed, and given accommodation as well.
Still, Denning, in the mid-1930s, was making about 10x the income of a head gamekeeper, and perhaps 30x the income of a kitchen maid. Birkett, on a fee-income of between £25,000 and £40,000 a year, was making as much as ten times even those figures! Several millions a year, in 2024 money.

I see that, when Denning was made a High Court judge in 1944, his salary was set at £7,000, perhaps £300,000-£400,000 in today’s money, so rather more than High Court judges now get (around £225,000; and income tax is higher today).

My experience with having had 4 bikes stolen in London, is the Police are 100% ….not interested. I recovered one because I spotted it tied up whilst driving through Tooting. Other time we had clrar CCTV image of face, but not interested.
This of course goes far beyond “mere” theft of bicycles.
A couple of years ago, my Australian niece, in her early twenties and —at the time— living for a couple of years in London, decided to start cycling from her London flat (West Kensington) to her office (West End). A brave and perhaps unwise decision. All went well until, one fine summer day, a car hit her not very far from her home, at a busy intersection. A place where there are shops, cafes and, therefore, cctv. She was knocked off her bike, and left in the road. The driver sped off. Thankfully, she had no serious injuries; bruises and cuts, mainly.
My niece did report the incident (it may be that passers-by did too, at the time). The police did nothing, absolutely nothing, despite the fact that this was a hit and run vehicle crime which could well have been more serious, even a fatality. They did not even collect cctv, despite the time of the “accident” (crime) being known to within a few minutes. Useless.
Another crime: I know that I have blogged about this previously, but my regular readers will please grant me this indulgence.
A couple of years ago, in early 2023, a wheel was stolen from my car. Local people were able to provide me with some good leads as to the likely thief or his connections. I passed that information on to the police online and via telephone (they did not turn up at all in person, despite likely DNA evidence or fingerprints left on a jack). Nothing happened. No action, no investigation. Useless people.
Imagine my surprise, then (and as I later discovered), that the uniformed constable (from Hampshire Constabulary) who was in everyday charge of the relevant “neighbourhood crime team”, turned out to be the very same policeman who, together with a female colleague, had turned up, at my now very humble home, and on my birthday, in 2021, some 18 months previously, having been asked to do so by Gloucestershire Police at the behest of one Stephen Silverman, the self-styled “Director of Investigations and Enforcement” at the fanatical pro-Israel Jewish pressure-group called “Campaign Against Antisemitism” or “CAA”.

Well, nothing came of that attempted perversion of the course of justice by Silverman, but he has never been charged (((why?))). Au contraire— the tiny but well-funded “CAA” cabal simply persuaded (via direct political pressure and interference) the Wessex Crown —or Clown— Prosecution Service (Wessex CPS) to prosecute me on a completely different legal basis, and in respect of (small parts of) 5 blog posts, out of the, at the time, well over 1,500 blog posts published from late 2016 to early 2023.

The same policeman already noted above in today’s blog and in those other days’ blogs, turned up at every hearing of my “case”— first appearance in June or July 2023, a later “case management” appearance when the trial was deferred, the one-day trial, the sentencing hearing (and another hearing prior to sentence when the “Clown” Prosecutor made a doomed attempt to give my “case” a “hate crime” uplift). Four or maybe even five hearings; every time, that policeman was there, sitting in the waiting area and at the back of the court (he did give evidence, briefly, at the trial, and was equally-briefly cross-examined by me).
So that policeman spent 5 days on attending court, related to my quite pointless trial, as well as (with other “guardians of law and order”) a number of days cobbling together the huge amount of material required by the Clown Prosecution Service. Also, parts of other days in 2021, wasted on Silverman’s completely false and malicious allegation that he was “racially harassed” by me (I did not know his address, or his telephone number or email, and had never once spoken to him, or even seen him, still less confronted him).
Days which that policeman and his colleagues might have used more productively, dealing with real crime and/or investigating Silverman’s 2021 attempt to pervert the course of justice.
Incidentally, Silverman, despite now living in Gloucestershire (prior to that, in Essex), made the fairly long journey to Southampton Magistrates’ Court both for my trial and for the sentencing hearing, though he slunk out on the latter occasion once he realized that the sentence (a 9-month “community order” and £734 costs etc) was not going to be as severe as he and his horrible little “CAA” cabal had hoped.
I should add that, on one of the preliminary days in court, in summer 2023, a different “CAA” creature turned up to snoop, a kind of bearded and very long-haired near-dwarf, like something out of Lord of the Rings.
Well, there it is. The police politicized, suborned (along with the Clown Prosecution Service) and apparently incapable of doing their proper job, while behaving as a so-far relatively velvet-glove and poundshop Stasi.

In that piece, published nearly 6 years ago in 2019, I wrote that:

It is based on what we know of history and pre-history, and also upon what we know is not only possible but what we know has actually happened, albeit unconsciously, in past ages— the creation of the basis for a future civilization and culture.
Our present world, and its essence in the European people(s), is the result of the thousands of years of human activity and striving, but also of the fact that a tiny group of people, thousands of years ago, and whether consciously or not, created a family and/or clan which, by routes we do not exactly know, became the basis for almost everything we now know, use, possess, or are.
Now we too must create the kernel of a future superculture, one which will be as far in advance of our present world as it and we are in relation to the world(s) of 5,000, 50,000, or 500,000 years ago.
We cannot today create, immediately and directly, that future superculture. We can only create something which can be a platform or foundation for later and higher levels, or mutations to human beings of the future who will be so distant from us —though linked by blood— that they will, we shall, be a distinct and different species, a species into which we ourselves will one day reincarnate.
The first necessity is to fight to preserve European race and culture; above all, to prevent contamination of the root-stock by inferior elements seeping (or surging) into Europe, including the UK. Only by preserving a European racial or sub-racial stock can the first stage to the future superculture be created.

A middle-aged man paying for groceries, wearing a blue facemask muzzle. As if that piece of cloth (probably unwashed since he bought it) will “protect” him (or anyone else) from anything! Pathetic. Like the sprigs of garlic mediaeval peasants apparently wore in an attempt to ward off the Black Death, vampires, and werewolves.

I seem to remember that, when I was last in Moscow (2007), the rouble was about 20 to the U.S. dollar, maybe 25. OK, so now it is over 100 to the dollar. Only a fifth of the value it held in 2007.
True, but things are not quite as simple as that. Most importantly, most Russian people (like most Americans) either do not travel internationally, or do so only to countries where the local currency is itself weak. I myself recall encountering a Russian family on the Aegean coast of Turkey in 2001. At that time, most tourist Russians went to countries such as Turkey, North Cyprus or, even more popular, the Republic of Cyprus in the south of that island.
Even in 2001, most Russians did not travel beyond the borders of the former Soviet Union. Most, the vast majority, now stay at home.
Likewise, most Russians do not buy any imported goods at all, and so are insulated from price increases caused by the decline in value of the rouble.
Those who are most impacted by the fall in the value of the rouble are the wealthy, very wealthy, “oligarchs” etc. However, many of those people are so wealthy that a fall of 4/5ths of the notional value of their (Russia-based) assets is almost unimportant, they have so much money (as is the case with the oil sheikhs and rulers of the Middle East).
On the macro level, the fall in value means that Russian products and produce are price-competitive internationally. In any case, Russia is now doing much, perhaps most, of its trade with the “BRICS” states, not with the EU or North America etc. Sanctions, of course, apply to much of Russia’s pre-2022 trade with the West.

I appeared as Counsel there once (actually a 3-day trial), in early 1994, when it was still Middlesex Guildhall Crown Court. The courtrooms then were very pleasant pre-WW1 panelled rooms, not at all like the —as I now see— fairly bland UK Supreme Court one.
It was my first (and one of few) Crown Court criminal trials, a “section 18” GBH with intent, which carries a maximum life sentence. My defendant, had he been convicted, would have been sentenced, probably, to 5 or 6 years in those days, he having thrown hot oil over the “victim”, then stabbed him twice with a chef’s knife. Happily for him, he was acquitted on self-defence, a result I had thought was a 50-50 possibility, though the defendant himself was sure that he would be going down, and for several years.
I remember it well, not least because a friend at the Bar (who already had a good criminal practice) later remarked, on being told by me that I had done my first full Crown Court trial, resulting in acquittal, “oh, so you got him off?!“, to which I replied, modestly, “well, he got off…“, to which his rejoinder was “no, don’t put yourself down.” Kind words. Actually, I think I did OK, in a rather green sort of way…

I remember that winter of 1962-63. I was 6 years old, and had gone into Reading from my home in Caversham Heights (on the other side of the Thames) using the one bus, a single-decker, that serviced my home area. I cannot recall who accompanied me. Probably my grandmother, because she was the only adult family member unable to drive; unusually for that era in the UK, we were a two-car family.
As the bus returned to the nearest stop to where I lived (a couple of streets away), the driver slowed, but opened the exit door before the bus had come to a halt. It was still moving as I fell out. Luckily, I fell onto and into a large drift or pile of soft snow, and was entirely unharmed. My first lucky escape?

I have blogged in the past, briefly, about that whole silly, sorry, business.
My views are that, while the old ex-officer was no doubt well-meaning, the whole thing was really a bit silly. He obviously believed, as did most of the population at the time (though not me), that “Covid” was some kind of existential threat to the nation (whereas it was the overall policy of “lockdowns” and other panicky measures taken that has proven so damaging to both economy and society).
Apart from that, I do find “Captain Tom” a bit of a “Captain Mainwaring”. After all, what kind of person, in the modern era, uses his military rank on a day to day basis nearly 80 years after he left the Army? Particularly when his substantive rank was Lieutenant (war-temporary Captain; he may have been gazetted substantive Captain prior to “demob” in 1946— I do not know), rather than Field Marshal, General, or Colonel.
Of course, in the 1940s, 1950s, even 1960s, there were plenty of people around who used their old war rank of, as many were, Major and, yes, even Captain, socially, or in business, but that was anachronistic even in the 1970s, fifty years ago.

Well, I have mentioned this previously. I support Allison Pearson’s free speech rights, but she supports the Jewish/Israel lobby, which has been trying to take away my free speech for over a decade.

One of several ridiculous aspects to political prosecutions of this sort is that, in that case as in many others, the defendant posted certain things, certain comments. He was sentenced, both harshly and absurdly, to 2 years, meaning he will probably serve about 9 months, yet the very same words have now been shared by the Clown Prosecution Service, the police (I believe), the System news media, people such as Matt Goodwin, all those who retweeted Matt Goodwin’s tweet (at time of writing, about 600), and others such as me, as seen hereinabove.
Obviously, that defendant’s words were posted on an earlier date and in, arguably, different circumstances (the now-famous protests and/or “riots”).

Regular readers of the blog will know that the dim Essex Police invited me for a “voluntary” interview (in fact, entirely involuntary) in 2017, because Stephen Silverman, the malicious and self-styled “Head of Investigations and Enforcement” at the very small but (((well-funded))) pressure group, “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”], laid a complaint against me and also (as the police themselves told me) against about half a dozen other persons (all unknown to me) in respect of allegedly “antisemitic” tweets. I once knew someone whose ex-boyfriend, English and a Cambridge graduate, worked for the World Bank. That young man was sent to live in Yemen (at that time divided into two; I am not sure but think this would have been South Yemen). That would have been in the mid/late 1970s. The young man lived in fairly basic hotel accommodation for the year in which he was collecting and collating economic statistics in Yemen. At the end of the year, those would be the raw material for a report which would become an official World Bank report and the basis for economic help to that Yemeni state.
This was, of course, in pre-Internet days, and the statistics gathered in were all on paper in his hotel room. No copies, and there was no way, in the absence of an office, to relay any but the most basic information to World Bank HQ in Washington D.C.
At the end of the year, that young World Bank employee was ready to depart, carrying with him all the papers and files etc. It was at that point when a water pipe in his room developed a bad leak while he was out. The room was flooded, and most of the material destroyed.
On return to Washington, the young man sat in his office for a couple of weeks, agonizing about what to do. Eventually, a senior colleague came in and asked him what the problem was. He confessed. The senior colleague helped him to cobble together a report that looked plausible, though most of the statistics had to be simply invented.

As to the “young man” in question, I myself met him only once, when he was not that young anymore. Early 1980s. I was about 26, my then girlfriend 33, and the “young man” in this story about 33 or 34, maybe 35. It occurs to me that, if Mark Lewis advised Pete Newbon negligently (whether or not he was on the record as acting for him) and if, as a direct result, Mrs Newbon has lost out in one way or another, she might take action against Lewis and his firm (Patron Law) to compensate her for any loss suffered.

Three things drive the social media commentary. None is my fault. All are driven by those who knew Newbon. Myerson has some front saying this is not for social media when, as the High Court found, it was he who published on here the crude and dehumanising abuse that I was the scum of the earth responsible for Newbon’s death.
Myerson has similarly implied Rosen is in some way responsible.
Second, there is the Newbon award where he is presented entirely as a victim of social media. Newbon alleged I was ‘a freak who took pictures of kids’ outside a school. He then insisted, likely on Mark Lewis’ incompetent advice, he had the right to continue to publish that allegation despite it creating a risk to the safety of me and my family.
Third, my litigation grinds on because Mark Lewis and Patron Law continue to refuse to accept any responsibility for my costs. So long as this remains the position, the litigation remains live. If Lewis or his firm paid up, nobody would ever need to comment on the litigation again. The only good thing to come from the litigation grinding on is that it is likely to lead to documents being published which reveal the truth of what happened.
TL;DR – it is Myerson and others who knew Newbon who are responsible for this being a matter for social media. I never wanted that to happen.“
It is a matter of public record that Simon Myerson (who practises law from St. Paul’s Chambers, Leeds) was firstly admonished by the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office, and then, after Myerson proved by his intemperate social media posts that he was unable to conduct himself properly, was sacked as Recorder (p/t judge), albeit under the fig-leaf of “resignation”.
Managed decline, yes, but the decline itself is deliberate. The idea, which has occult origins, is to destroy the European peoples, the post-Aryans, and to make the whole world non-European or only part-European, ruled over by a mixture of Jews and/or part-Jews, as provided for by the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan.
