Those Israeli police are even more free with their swinging batons than are the traffic cops in Moscow, the GAI (as was). The Israeli police truncheons seem to be longer than the Russian ones (or the old British type, now replaced by extendable metal ones). Try referencing “their” behaviour, and see how quickly the censorship kicks in, whether on LBC, Sky News, BBC, in Parliament, or in an ordinary court of law.

Here’s a bet. Radio loudmouth James O’Brien will never once say that LBC, his employer, is owned by companies owned by a Jewish heir to a fortune. He will never say that simple truth. What odds will you take?

Jews often say or talk, or write, or tweet about how Palestinian Arabs should draw a line under the fact that the Jews stole most of “Israel”, particularly during the 1948 “Nakba”, in the following years, and engaged in ethnic cleansing; whole villages killed by Jewish execution squads; men, women, and children shot after having been restrained by having their hands and/or feet tied.

The Palestinian Arabs, say the Jews, should “move on”, forget about the Jews’ ethnic cleansing, the massacres of civilians, the theft of land, houses, apartments etc, and make another life for themselves in Jordan, or Lebanon, and not keep talking about the catastrophe visited upon them.

Strangely enough, the very same Jews who say that never shut up about the events of the 1930s and especially early 1940s, when they say Jews were massacred etc by Germans, Poles, Ukrainians, Baltic people etc. In fact, a whole industry of books, films, often “faction” (fiction disguised as “fact”, or “near-fact”) has grown up with those events (true or not) as its subject-matter.

I thought that Mercer would bring both integrity and commonsense thinking to the Westminster Bubble. Sadly, not so. Half of them cannot find their own country on a map of the world. I lived there. I know them as well as most Brits do. You are talking about a country (USA) where a tiny minority are incredibly well-informed (maybe 1%, being diplomatic about it), where about 5% are reasonably well-informed, and where maybe 94% know very little about anything beyond their everyday lives and situations. The 94% are easily manipulated by the American msm which is mostly owned, staffed, and influenced by “the usual suspects”.

In other words, opinion polling of the American people reveals, to an even greater extent than polling of British people, what the people have been spoonfed by the (((msm))).

National Socialism in Germany promoted health: physical health, moral and ethical health, spiritual health, cultural health, and the healthy evolution of the whole people or Volk in a Volksgemeinschaft or folk-community. Anyone’s guess, as far as the 2024 Westminster election is concerned (GE 2024), but my take is that tens of millions of British people are just sick of experiencing how nothing works any more in this country, from local right up to national level. They just want all this utter shite to stop. Labour will probably be unable to do much better, but what people want now, first of all, is to put the Conservative Party on a pyre, and then set light to it.

As to “how low” will the Con vote go at GE 2024, my view, formed over the past year or two, stands at present somewhere below 20%. The latest YouGov poll puts the Cons at about 18%.

My use of Electoral Calculus [https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html] on those figures puts the Con MP cadre after GE 2024 at 31 MPs (Labour 519, LibDem 58). On that basis, the Conservative Party will not even be the official Opposition.

Even if those figures are wildly out, it looks as if 2024 may be the swansong for the Con Party as both “the natural party of government” and even as the natural main opposition party.

So the younger generation(s) prefer white bread? Very unhealthy.

Why would any organization want to subject its staff to a programme of socio-political brainwashing by Jew-Zionists, especially a dishonest and malicious pack such as the so-called “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”]?

The next time that the “CAA” “executives” Falter and Silverman give sworn testimony in a criminal or civil legal case, they should be robustly cross-examined about finances, including how much they themselves are being paid for their disgusting activities.

The “CAA” is effectively a volunteer arm of the Israeli Embassy in London.

There must be an investigation into, not only that recent piece of street theatre by Falter, but also into, and more importantly, the hooks that the “CAA” cabal have got into the police, CPS, TV people, radio people, and newspaper scribblers, not to mention both “Labour” and “Conservative” political facades, right up to the little Indian money-juggler presently posing as Prime Minister.

That chart shows very clearly just how disastrous, economically, the war with the German Reich was for Britain. If only Britain had had real statesmen able to see ahead, unlike stumbling, bumbling Churchill, whose military and naval ideas were rock-bottom (Gallipoli in WW1, and in WW2 Norway, Greece, Crete, Singapore etc), and whose social ideas were antiquated and unreal.

As the under-rated historian Correlli Barnett said in several of his books, after 1945 the UK had the choice of trying to maintain its worldwide Empire and being a major power, and/or of regenerating its economy and particularly its industrial manufacturing sector, and/or of creating a Welfare State. Only two (any two) of the three were possible of full achievement, but Britain tried to undertake all three simultaneously; that strategy failed, or partially failed. Apart from all the other lies of Gideon Falter, if he claims that he was taking a stroll after having attended a synagogue, that must also be untrue. Other Jews have said that Falter was out and about long before what the Jews call “schul” would have ended.

Also, as a former long-term near-Central London resident, I am unaware of any synagogue in the area around where Falter was performing his political street-theatre nuisance (in Aldwych); and even if I am wrong on that, as far as I know Falter lives mainly in the St. John’s Wood neighbourhood of NW London (quite close to my one-time home in Little Venice, London W9). There is a large synagogue in St. John’s Wood Road, and another one in Lauderdale Road, Maida Vale. Both far from the Aldwych/Kingsway area of London; miles away. How would any stroll take him that way, even forgetting about the ex-MOSSAD security staff and the film crew?

Falter, like all his “CAA” co-conspirators, is a liar, and an abuser of the legal system (and mainstream media) of this country.

“Insp Parker-Phipps, whose laptop battery was “dying”, put the order in place at 10:00 GMT on November 26, but accidentally dated the form for November 24.

So the policeman directly in question, of the rank of inspector, wrongly-dated the crucial document? He also admitted —without equivocation— in court not only that he had wrongly-dated the document but, further, that that probably meant that the Order purportedly authorized had thereby been rendered unlawful.

What an unusually-helpful police witness. “Tommy Robinson” must have been born under a lucky star. Or something.

Australia now is very different to the affluent and generally relaxed country I saw in the late 1960s. Controlled and tied down in so many ways, and far more stressed. Sydney itself has twice or more the population it had back then (then about 2M, now 5M+).

Another aspect that strikes (and puzzles) me is the almost caricature “Aussie” accent many now sport, including most of their politicians. That never used to be the case, not to that extent, as far as I can recall. There was a “strine”, yes, but it has become more accentuated, in fact almost become a joke, as one can hear from the woman in that clip.

“A furious mum glassed a man in the face at a pub after he guessed she was four years older than she was.

Joanne Dodd launched her attack on Carl Cooper after he suggested she might be 43, when she was actually 39. The pair were having a light-hearted exchange in a Manchester pub beer garden before Carl went to the toilet to try and get away from an offended Joanne. But when he returned, she ran towards him twice and pushed her wine glass into his face, leaving him with a 10cm cut that narrowly missed his eye and needed stitches, as well as an injury to his thumb.

Manchester Crown Court heard Dodd was suffering from ‘low self esteem’ and was drinking heavily at the time of the attack. The mum-of-one pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm, facing up to three years in jail under sentencing guidelines. But Judge Elizabeth Nicholls instead gave her a suspended sentence, explaining that despite there being no excuse for the crime, she could see that Dodd, who has no previous convictions, was a ‘hard working woman’, ‘loving mother’ and posed ‘no risk to the public’.

So a woman who twice pushed a glass into the face of (what seems to have been) a complete stranger poses “no risk to the public“?

I suppose that it could be argued that the sentence is not unjust: the victim will (presumably) get that £800, and 180 hours of serf labour is pretty stiff, but the idea that such a defendant poses “no risk” is surely demonstrably untrue.

I suppose, also, that the only way to test the verdict of that judge is the method suggested by the judge to the jury in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury:

“she says that when in drink, he hits her and kicks her; well, gentlemen of the jury, let’s make him tipsy…and see!“

I think that the courts must start getting tough on violent crime, including violence committed in social settings such as pubs, and not infrequently by drunken women these days.

If that little twerp thinks that the millions of Ukrainians now living in Poland, Germany, and many other countries are going to return to the brutal, corrupt, and shambolic dictatorship of Zelensky and the regime in Kiev, let alone join its ebbing armed forces, he is living in a land of fantasy.

Either this summer or later, there will be a general advance by Russian forces, moving north and west across Eastern Ukraine; perhaps even an approach or “podstup” near to Kiev itself, which region is now heavily defended.

The Kiev-regime forces are now entirely on the defensive, without the ability, troops or other means to attempt an advance, still less any offensive, after the failure of the last and half-hearted one in 2023. All they can do is launch occasional missile attacks on Russian territory, with the aim of causing a certain amount of damage to refineries, train lines, bridges etc.

Tel Aviv, other cities, and some thoughts about “new” cities

The events in Israel/Palestine have sparked a few thoughts.

Not very beautiful, but it is impressive all the same, when one thinks that, 150 years ago, there was very little if any urbanization, though the port of Jaffa, the original town in part of the location, has existed for 1,800 years: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaffa.

“In 1906, a group of Jews, among them residents of Jaffa, followed the initiative of Akiva Aryeh Weiss and banded together to form the Ahuzat Bayit (lit. “homestead”) society. One of the society’s goals was to form a “Hebrew urban centre in a healthy environment, planned according to the rules of aesthetics and modern hygiene”.[32] The urban planning for the new city was influenced by the garden city movement.[33] The first 60 plots were purchased in Kerem Djebali near Jaffa by Jacobus Kann, a Dutch citizen, who registered them in his name to circumvent the Turkish prohibition on Jewish land acquisition.[34] Meir Dizengoff, later Tel Aviv’s first mayor, also joined the Ahuzat Bayit society.[35][36] His vision for Tel Aviv involved peaceful co-existence with Arabs.[37][unreliable source]

On 11 April 1909, 66 Jewish families gathered on a desolate sand dune to parcel out the land by lottery using seashells. This gathering is considered the official date of the establishment of Tel Aviv. The lottery was organised by Akiva Aryeh Weiss, president of the building society.[38][39] Weiss collected 120 sea shells on the beach, half of them white and half of them grey. The members’ names were written on the white shells and the plot numbers on the grey shells. A boy drew names from one box of shells and a girl drew plot numbers from the second box. A photographer, Abraham Soskin (b. 1881 in Russia, made aliyah 1906[40]), documented the event. The first water well was later dug at this site, located on what is today Rothschild Boulevard, across from Dizengoff House.[41] Within a year, Herzl, Ahad Ha’am, Yehuda Halevi, Lilienblum, and Rothschild streets were built; a water system was installed; and 66 houses (including some on six subdivided plots) were completed.”

The city of Tel Aviv grew rapidly as Jewish immigration increased in the 1920s and 1930s:

It could be argued that, like so much of the world, Israel/Palestine would have been better had it stayed under European, in this case British, rule (the British having conquered the region during WW1, and then administered it under League of Nations mandate).

I have seen other “instant” cities, at least cities which have been founded from effectively nothing and then have mushroomed quite quickly (in historical terms). Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe) for one.

Incidentally, “Harare” was, pre-1980, the name of an African “township” (poor suburb outside the city).

I remember well how struck I was when I saw the flowering trees and bushes almost everywhere in the central and near-central parts of Salisbury. I have never been able to discover what were the quite large dark-green trees with football-sized spherical orange flowers that I saw quite often in 1977. Very beautiful.

In a way, a city such as Salisbury (now Harare) was even more impressive as a testament to human enterprise than somewhere such as Tel Aviv, which after all grew upon an existing port, Jaffa (or Yafa; the Jews call it Yafo). The location of Salisbury was almost terra nullius; only a few African tribesmen were in the area at the time of its foundation as a fort in 1890.

Population increases are always key. The present Harare has over 2M inhabitants; Tel Aviv (including autonomous suburbs etc) about 4M.

Another city, where I lived for a full year [1996-1997] is Almaty, Kazakhstan, founded (like Salisbury) as a fortified stockade in the late 19thC and called, by its Russian founders, Verny. Now, a city of over 2M inhabitants.

I find rather fascinating cities —and whole states and societies— which grow from almost nothing in a relatively short space of time. One, which I saw in its construction phase, was Milton Keynes [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milton_Keynes]. I knew it for a few months in early 1977; on returning a few times about 30 years later, the difference was incredible. Whole suburbs where only fields were before; a railway station where none existed before; a population of over 250,000 (in 1977, only a few thousand); bus services (in 1977, effectively non-existent); filling stations; large modern hotels.

I appeared as Counsel a couple of times in the years 2002-2007 at Milton Keynes County Court; in 1977, there was no such court; neither was there the whole Central Milton Keynes district where the Court and the railway station etc are now located.

I saw Doha, Qatar, in 2001. A sleepy and not unpleasant city. When I returned in 2008, Doha was already unrecognizable, a city of concrete and skyscrapers. Since then, a further transformation along the same lines. A kind of Manhattan-look in the desert, and on the Red Sea.

One thing I can say which is positive about the Israelis is that much —not all— of their town planning is pretty good, from what I have seen from photos etc. Many of their suburbs and towns seem well-planned, with trees, parks and leisure facilities.

Of course, the foundation and sometimes fast development of cities has a flip side: cities can sometimes disappear quickly as well.

It seems that the vast majority of cruise missiles and drones (though 99% seems very high) were destroyed in the air either by Israeli forces or by US, UK, French, Jordanian and Saudi aircraft. Such cruise missiles and drones are quite slow. If, however, the Iranians were to use the hypersonic missiles they are said to possess, then it might be a very different story.

Obviously, I would take issue with some of that, but there is no doubt that National Socialism and Zionism both emerged from similar ideas current in the Central European region in the 19th Century, Zionism from the “blood and soil” ideas of Herzl, and National Socialism from similar but Aryan/European-oriented ideas. Both came to fruition, though, later, in the early/mid 20thC.

Chris Williamson, the former MP, is rather unsound ideologically. He opposes Israel and the Jewish/Zionist lobby, yet in his words and tweets etc gives credence to one of its most important propaganda weapons, the “holocaust” mythus —as packaged by Hollywood— as witness that tweet above.

“Mathematically impossible numbers“? I seem to recall another situation in history involving “mathematically-impossible numbers” of individuals supposedly killed…in fact, that other situation involves numbers so vast, and industrial contrivances so complicated (and for which there is no historical evidence at all), that it seems that, at least in the way “they” usually say, and/or in the numbers “they” say, it is doubtful that that situation ever occurred at all…

If the numbers shown from Gaza are —supposedly— implausible (according to the Israelis), then those other numbers, from that other —supposed— incident of world history (promoted constantly by the Israelis and the world Jewish lobby) are completely unbelievable, as are the supposed events in detail.

As far as the Gazan deaths and injuries are concerned, the Israelis seem to be saying something akin to “we have not killed 30,000+ people, mostly women and children, neither have we injured 100,000+. The figures are far less high, and far fewer children were killed or grievously injured.”

Do the “Israelis” really think that that sort of argument cuts much ice, even if true (and, after all, they are inveterate falsifiers of history)?

There are bigger issues.

Happened to see the above. I have read it. Nothing obviously objectionable in it. The leader of that new party is Alek Yerbury, of whom I only recently heard.

Worth pointing out, though, that the tens of thousands of pounds (maybe hundreds of thousands) the police (behaving as a poundland Stasi) and Clown Prosecution “Service” spent and wasted (over years), employing drones and dogsbodies to trawl through about a thousand or more of my blog posts, might have been better spent dealing with real crime, not invented and contrived thought crime. Just a thought.

All that money and effort (and it would have been thousands more had I availed myself, as I was entitled to do, of my right to instruct solicitors and Counsel via legal aid) has resulted in a sentence of 15 days (part-days) talking with the Probation Service, plus a costs order of £734 (part of which has already been crowdfunded, and which is anyway being paid off at a not-too-painful £91.75 per month).

Jesus H. Christ! Even Nick Ferrari has apparently woken up to the menace of Israel and the UK Jewish lobby. I would scarcely have believed it.

Now all we need is for the suborned UK police and CPS to wake up and stop allowing themselves to be played by “the lobby”…

I once heard Ben Houchen on the radio. Quite impressive. In fact, more so than most “dirty democratic politicians“, as Hitler termed them. However, I have found in my life that, usually, the most impressive-seeming people are “all hat and no cattle“, in the Texan phrase.

“Good man” is debatable. After all, “no-one can rule guiltlessly” [Saint-Just], but Putin is certainly at least as good a man as those opposing him, both here and in Russia itself.

People usually want things to be black-and-white, simple. Not everything is black-and-white. Look at modern history. There were people, some people, in the SS and even, rather later, in the KGB and GRU, who meant well, were relatively honourable, and who might be described in the superficial sense as “good” people, and there were those in the USA and UK, and also in the internal opposition(s) to both National Socialist and Soviet socialist rule, who were rather “bad” people.

If life is a chess game, it is often “three-dimensional chess”.

It seems to me —as far as I have read etc— that Israel is now quite centralized on Tel Aviv and its region, though the Jerusalem area has as many or more inhabitants. The economy is centred on that region. The Israeli state can absorb a certain amount of conflict in border areas (Gaza, the Golan Heights and Northern Israel, even the West Bank), so long as the central belt around Tel Aviv is still functioning.

The increasing capabilities of Hezbollah, especially what seems to be their fast-upgraded missile programme, threaten Tel Aviv and the surrounding region. The Israeli ruling circles are therefore probably contemplating a massive attack on southern Lebanon to destroy the Hezbollah infrastructure before missiles of real power rain down on Tel Aviv.

The Israelis are willing to take a hit in terms of international perception of Israel, a public relations hit, and also an economic hit, so long as that Hezbollah infrastructure can be at least badly damaged.

Were Hezbollah or other powers able to heavily damage Tel Aviv itself, the Israeli economy would tank, and the exodus (?) of dual-passport Jews from Israel —30,000+ since October 2023— would become a flood.

In theory, there is almost no limit to the numbers who can claim “asylum” in the UK. The applicable law and rules were passed at a time or times when it was never envisaged that globalization and international disorder might result in huge populations, hundreds of millions of people, deciding to relocate en masse to Europe, including the UK.

If sceptics say, “it would never happen” (that hundreds of millions might strike out for the UK), the present migration-invasion (both “legal” and “illegal”) was never thought, by the average Joe, to be likely to happen, either. The police should start to take a far greater interest in the fraudulent activities of various online “grifters”, among which is numbered the said Simon Harris, an Essex Jew who has apparently been living off various scams for years; also, the now-notorious “Bootstrap Cook” known as “Jack Monroe” (aka Melissa Hadjicostas), another denizen of South Essex; “Supertanskiii”, unthinking Labour Party partisan whose modus operandi (similar to that of “Jack Monroe”) is to scream abuse at the present hapless and hopeless government (to dupe the donor-mugs) while taking in money under various guises; Julia Grace Patterson: similar, but uses her couple of years (and many years ago) working as a junior doctor to pose as “champion of the NHS” (while taking in monies).

“Something must have gone very badly wrong for @simonharris_mbd to receive £484k of taxpayers money from Essex County Council for performing broadly the same service as @jonmorter, the man who came up with the idea of Facebook-based Essex community groups in the first place, who received far, far less and was promptly shafted as a result.

It seems @kirstyocal and Essex County Council have many awkward and serious questions to answer about who knew what, when, and why so much taxpayer money was paid to one person in a deal that simply does not represent value for money for taxpayers.

Why did the council spend so much on a linked network of low-engagement Facebook pages and groups? What was Kirsty’s role in all this? Who approved the sign-off on expenditure? How was Simon selected as the service provider? Was this just pandemic-induced panic or something more serious? Why did it take regime change at the council for this to stop?

£484,000 at a time when councils are going bankrupt, cutting back services, increasing council tax, and struggling to cope. Absolutely astonishing.

Hard to believe. Looks like the grifter has snaffled nearly half a million pounds of Essex taxpayers’ monies. Did he attend the same course (at Grifters’ College) as “Jack Monroe”?

Good grief. That area has changed out of all recognition since I last saw it decades ago.

Looking at the Moorfields Eye Hospital (on the left of that photo), I then took a look up City Road from there to the Angel, Islington, using my favourite Google Earth and Streetview.

The pub (was it The Sportsman, or maybe The Greyhound?), where half a dozen or so League of St. George members used to meet every (?Tuesday ?Wednesday) lunchtime back in 1977/1978, has gone.

I was unsure, looking at Google Streetview, exactly where it used to be but if memory serves it seems to have been replaced by a contemporary 2/3-storey apartment development of some kind). 45 years of urban landscape change.

Thinking back, that pub was an unaesthetic box shape, standing alone, and had probably itself been built over bomb-damaged houses (houses damaged in the early 1940s), sometime in the 1950s.

Not sure whether those gatherings could be called “happy days”, but certainly there was less in-your-face State repression of social-national people; the Jew-Zionist lobby’s infiltration into the “British” Establishment was less obvious, less blatant, in those days.

Recollections? I do not think anyone now, after 45 years, can be harmed if I use the names of those old LSG colleagues (some are no longer with us anyway).

I recall our Secretary, Mary Dowton, who was always there. I believe that she became, though many years later, a published writer on astrology.

Then there was the dark-bearded and amiable Steve Brady, who wrote the Heimdall column in League Review. Steve had served a prison sentence in the mid-1970s for writing the truth, though I do not know the details. His sentence, I think about a year in the end, had been served in Reading Prison (now derelict or redeveloped); previously and famously the temporary home of Oscar Wilde.

Another occasional attendee was Keith Thompson, who now has a Wikipedia page devoted to him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Thompson_(politician). Keith was a not-unpleasant character, whose wife disapproved of his political activities, I think. One day, I was talking to him on the telephone (he was at his home, I think in NW London somewhere), when I heard a loud slapping sound, and he went silent. The conversation then went something like this—

Me: “Hello? Hello?“

Keith: “Uh..uh…sorry, Ian. My wife has just slapped my face with a wet fish...”

A unique conversation, for sure…almost surrealistic.

Keith Thompson was or had been a fairly adventurous fellow who, after National Service sometime in the late 1950s or around 1960 (if so, he may have been one of the last few ever drafted) had travelled the world a bit, and had worked for a while in the uranium mines of Rum Jungle, in Australia [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rum_Jungle,_Northern_Territory].

In more recent years, Keith Thompson was accused, I read somewhere, of having spied for Jew-Zionists. I have no idea whether that was the case. Pity if it was. He was always short of money, but then so have I been at various times, and no-one (whether official or Jew-Zionist) has ever asked me to spy (for money or any other reason). It would not suit me anyway. I am a believer…

There were others sometimes present at those pub “seminars” (or should we say, following Plato, “symposia”?) whose names I do not recall. A typical talking-shop, of course, rather than anything serious.

I had and still have my suspicions about who might have been reporting to MI5 or Special Branch 45 years ago, but no proof, just speculative analysis, and my lips remain sealed.

The League had its office near that pub, in a council flat the tenant of which was a League member who lived most of the time elsewhere but kept up the flat for the convenience of the League, though I think most LSG people never went there (The League used a P.O. box and/or a letter-forwarding service). I did visit once or twice, though fairly briefly. My memory, though still good, far better than almost anyone’s in fact, is not infallible, and I do not recall the exact address of that flat (not that it matters now either way); somewhere near that pub; just off the City Road, anyway. The flat probably got sold off privately in the 1980s or 1990s, and is now quite likely worth a million pounds, in the crazed London of 2024.

Anyone who thinks that the likely Starmer-Labour government from 2024-25 will be better than the bunch of clowns currently in office is being very very silly.

Having said that, the only way to (“peacefully”) destabilize the failed two-party rigged system in the UK is to destroy at least one major party. The “Conservatives” have volunteered, by their corrupt ineptitude, to be that party. At the upcoming General Election, all that is required is for people to punish the Con Party by not voting for it. Either abstain, or vote anywhere but Con.

Tice, of Reform UK, is scarcely my kind of politician, but he has caught the mood. In a recent interview (a few days ago), Tice made the necessary point: punish (his word) the Con Party, no matter whether voting for Reform UK means more Labour MPs. Labour will almost certainly “win” anyway, and almost certainly with a large majority. Think strategically. Wipe out the Con Party by either abstaining or by voting anywhere but Con.

So wrote a man who has never done a day’s actual or non-political work in his life. He was even useless as an MP and junior minister, getting sacked at least three times from various portfolios (despite having been one of the least rebellious and most toadying of the Conservative MP-cadre).

Skidmore tries to present an “intellectual” front, but not convincingly. He does not have the horsepower, when all is said and done.

Skidmore, though now claiming to have resigned on a matter of principle, had himself earlier said (in 2022) why he would not be continuing as MP:

“On 26 November 2022, Skidmore announced that he would be standing down at the next general election, later stating in Parliament that ‘my constituency of Kingswood is being formally abolished in the boundary changes and there is nowhere for me to go.’[37][38][39]” [Wikipedia].

Translation: he has been both useless and disliked as MP and junior minister, and no other constituency would want him once his present one is abolished. In any case, there may well be few Conservative Party seats left after 2024.

Skidmore has spun getting kicked out of Parliament (by the time of the 2024 General Election) as a principled resignation, no doubt hoping to be given some lucrative and maybe environment-oriented quango appointment later. He might have been better to wait to see whether he would be in line for a peerage. No chance of that now.

Anyway, he’s off. Good.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the by-election, assuming that there is one before the 2024 General Election.

You still see tweets etc demanding that “the authorities” or “the Government” should “do something”. Such tweets (etc) miss the point. The “authorities”, “Government”, “Opposition”, mainstream media drones and scribblers, and the craven legal and judicial system, are those, or some of those, responsible, pushing mass immigration, pushing the lie that it is a good thing, and pushing the multikulti society which is in the process of destroying what is left of our own society.

Lost wars are never popular and, while the Israeli war machine is slowly grinding the life out of Gaza, there is no easy victory for the (Israeli) Jews in that theatre, and casualties are mounting (though a small fraction of those suffered by both Gazan combatants and non-combatants).

Meanwhile, it seems to me that the strategic position of Israel has never been so precarious, even in the 1950s. Hezbollah threatens the northern border, Iran is developing longer-range missiles, and the Israeli economy is battered by the Gaza conflict, the evacuation of the northern border areas, by the situation in the Red Sea, and by a worldwide consumer boycott. Also, Israeli society itself seems fragmented, disunited.

To my mind, and for the first time in my lifetime [b. 1956] one can see a possibility, even a probability, that the State of Israel may not survive for very long into the future. Ironically, the nuclear and other advanced weapons of Israel may prove to be irrelevant, in that what seems most likely is a mass “invasion” or insurrection by lightly-armed militants (as in the recent Hamas incursions into southern Israel). Israel cannot use its most powerful weapons on its own territory.

A word about junior doctors striking

I have little time for the selfish yet virtue-signalling junior doctors. Many of them are useless anyway, and now we see that, when push comes to shove, they are willing to abandon their patients in order to demand better pay.

Yes, there remains a “skeleton service”, but that is a conscience-salve equivalent to the blank round given secretly to a randomly-selected member of a firing squad.

What about that pay? In the first year of work, they get a basic salary around £33,000, but that can greatly increase for overtime work of various kinds. Many are making over £45,000.

Admittedly, £33,000 is no fortune, but that is, after all, for persons recently-qualified. There are huge numbers of people in the UK making less, even after 20 or 30 years of work, and that is even disregarding the unemployed, sick, disabled, pensioners etc.

A second year doctor in a hospital gets £37,000+ (up to about £50,000).

Salaried GPs get between £70,000 and £105,000. Partner-GPs get far more.

Hospital doctors get increments annually; a complicated series of payments for various training programmes and placements raises the salary of many far beyond the minima.

NHS consultants start (in their first year of consultancy) on basic pay of just under £100,000, and make far more with seniority etc.

I say nothing about whether doctors (at any level) “should” get more pay, simply that it is disgusting that the junior ones seem willing to abandon sick and helpless people, often very vulnerable people, often people in pain (and in need of strong painkillers which can only be prescribed by doctors, meaning the “men —and women— in white coats”).

If junior doctors and, beyond that, what is so often —and cringingly— called “our NHS” callously abandon the British people, it may be that the British people will eventually abandon the doctors and demand a health service that works for its patients and not mainly for the benefit of those that work in it.

Actually, I do have one observation to make, which is that, obviously, in this conflict, truth has been the first casualty, but that, after truth, the next casualty has been the supposedly “elite” reputation of the Israeli Army.

I see that opinion polls are now indicating that Trump is gaining ground among the “young”, Hispanic, and black voters. That could be a gamechanger, if Trump can survive to be voted in and his second term inaugurated.
