Today, I woke up hearing about sexual offenders being released early from UK prisons and I’m now going to bed hearing about Lucy Connolly being kept in jail for sharing some hurty words on social media. The absurd reality of modern Britain.
In reality, even were it thought to be necessary (I say not) or appropriate to send that lady to prison for her arguably inflammatory words on social media, 3 months would have been enough, and more than enough, to send a message to her and others. She was sentenced, on 17 October 2025, to 31 months, of which 40%, or about 12 months, will be spent in prison.
If memory serves, Lucy Connolly spent over a month in prison on remand before sentencing (it will be recalled that “Tel Aviv Keith” Starmer-stein interfered with the handling of all those post-“riot” cases) , so that month or six weeks will be discounted anyway. On that basis, Lucy Connolly would have been released by some date in September 2025 anyway, even without having appealed on sentence (she could not have appealed the conviction as such, she having pleaded guilty).
As it is, at time of writing it appears that the Court of Appeal justices have reserved judgment.

Of course, I do not agree with Katie Hopkins’ lauding (in her tweet video) of stupid pro-Jewish-lobby scribbler Allison Pearson and the hypocritical “Free Speech Union” of Toby Young (also completely under the spell of the worst parts of the Jewish/Israel lobby). I have blogged about all of that on previous occasions.
We should know by Monday whether Lucy Connolly will be released soon. I expect she will be, with or without some face-saving slight delay.
Of course, what makes the Lucy Connolly sentence egregiously harsh is not even the 31 months itself (very harsh though that was, especially on a —possibly misguided— guilty plea; a mother of young children with no previous convictions, wife of an unwell husband etc; and because her swiftly-deleted tweet in fact resulted in no actual real-world riotous effects); but also the societal background.
A cursory look at the newspapers will show endless cases of (real) violence, of theft (often considerable in quantum) etc, in which cases the defendants (usually with previous convictions) have been given non-custodial sentences, or immediate prison sentences but far shorter than that visited upon Lucy Connolly.
The perceived helplessness of Lucy Connolly (a childminder, with her own young children, and who cried during her court appearances) makes her treatment all the more infuriating. It is as if (?) she has been made a deliberately-chosen sacrificial victim.
I am enjoying the vibes shift in the UK right now. Times columnist once critical of our Substack now comes round to what we argued for two years ago. Time to leave the ECHR.
That little twerp, Sebastian Payne, a failed Conservative Party candidate (he applied for several candidatures for Westminster seats during 2022-2024 but was never selected: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebastian_Payne) evidently thinks that the Con Party still has a run in it, and that, if the Nigerian woman now “leading” it will pledge to leave the ECHR regime, the Con Party will rise again.

Sparing her prison, Recorder Campbell said: “The greatest punishment you have is you are unable to pursue your dream career in the law.”
Ms Pungi was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, with no compensation order. Prosecutors also declined to pursue the money through the Proceeds of Crime Act, as there was no realistic prospect of the cash being recovered.”

I do have a third point. How could the sentencing judge have imagined that the defendant could have had a career in law, had she not now been convicted (again) ? She had a number of previous convictions, for one thing.
In fact, Goodwin is partly right, but only partly. The answer to his posed question is “No!” or, at best, “50-50“.

Quite. Look at the Allison Pearson case. Oh, wasn’t she shocked when the police came to her door and questioned her about a few online comments. Yes, shocked. She put all her outrage in her next newspaper column scribblings, and the “usual suspects” in the “free speech” milieu all formed up to march behind her— Toby Young, the “Free Speech Union” he put together, the Spectator, the Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mail etc.
As a matter of fact, I myself think that the police behaved outrageously in that instance.
Where, though, was Allison Pearson when others suffered from similar or worse behaviour at the hands of the police and those behind the police, and indeed Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), who have wormed their way into positions of influence, sometimes having suborned those stupid “elected” Police and Crime Commissioners brought in a decade ago by David Cameron-Levita.

You see from that Wikipedia article that Allison Pearson criticized people as “Jew-haters“. She herself is not Jew, or even (as far as I can see) “part-” or “crypto”. A provincial scribbler by origin, who blagged a poor 2:2 in English at university and, as “journalist”, gets most of her facts wrong.
Allison Pearson has made common cause with the “CAA” snoopers and “lawfare” abusers. She said nothing when the Jewish lobby abused law and professional regulation to have me wrongfully and unlawfully disbarred in 2016; neither did she speak up for me when I was on trial for writing this blog (on trial in late 2023, sentenced in March 2024).
The police have been at my door about 5 or 6 times since 2013, always because some Jew or other has made up a contrived complaint. See the blog articles posted below. A few telephone calls too. The last time was only about a year ago, when some policeman at the door confronted me with Twitter/X posts, which (apart from the language used, which never could have been from me) were from, I think, 2024, and I have not posted on Twitter/X since I was permanently “suspended (expelled) in 2018, when —once again— a pack of Jews combined to “complain” about me.
Seems that the police (posing as a poundland KGB or Stasi) think that I am the only Ian Millard in the world, or in the UK, or posting online. Are they really so ineffective and unthinking? No wonder (real) crime is exploding.

The above half-dozen tweets all relate to the libel action won by the tweeter, James Wilson, an academic from the North East of England, who won against a swamp of dishonest Jew-Zionist lawyers and perjuring or “unreliable” witnesses (every last one a Jew-Zionist).
Simon Myerson was a witness for the defence in that case. Myerson, a barrister based in Leeds, was later sacked as a part-time judge for other reasons, at least officially (his malicious and vituperative tweets and other social media comments). In the case in question here, Myerson’s testimony was given very little, if any, weight by the trial judge.
As for the defendants, one, a vicious pro-Israel social media troll called Pete Newbon, committed suicide before the trial had ended, he having failed to inform his wife that the libel case was happening, and that their family home might be on the line.
Another defendant, one Cantor, was (as it appears) either negligently or, quite likely, deliberately misled by the Jew-Zionist solicitor and Israel-lobby political fanatic Mark Lewis. It seems that Cantor will now lose his family home by reason of Lewis’s default(s), in order to satisfy the court-ordered legal costs of the successful claimant, Wilson. Not that I personally have the slightest sympathy for Cantor or any similar individual.
I do not know, but it seems not unlikely that, the defendants or surviving defendants having now a legal obligation to pay Wilson’s costs (though they are but a fraction of those that would have been claimed by the lawyers of the defendants, had they succeeded at trial), those surviving defendants will almost certainly end up suing Lewis and probably also Patron Law, the mainly Jewish law firm (based in a mews side-street in Notting Hill, West London), which is Lewis’s legal foothold in England (he is now, and has been since 2018, an Israeli citizen supposedly living in Eilat, Israel).

It does occur to me that, with the increasing pressure in the UK on animals, birds, fish, and insects, so many of which are now vulnerable or endangered, one possible answer might be to establish completely rewilded zones, perhaps 5 of them in England, and a smaller number but similar proportion in Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland.
I have not fully thought-out the idea, so these are just stray ideas at present.
Such rewilded zones would go beyond the various existing zone-regimes such as Green Belt, National Park, Site of Special Scientific Interest etc.
The idea would be for such zones to be changed from whatever land use presently exists to a completely wild forest. New building would be banned, and existing housing gradually reduced. There would be no industry and no large-scale agriculture or horticulture.
The above requirements suggest that areas already sparsely-inhabited would be chosen.
As for the size of such rewilded zones, I am thinking in terms of about the same size of circumference as the M25, i.e. the Greater London area. About 5 of those in England, perhaps 2 in Scotland, 1 in Wales and 1 in Northern Ireland.
Traffic would be very restricted over time, roads not open to the public (eventually). The zones to be linked with each other and other countryside areas by the kind of wildlife grid I have proposed over recent years.

In a way it’s sad but I don’t think I can ever remember a government (new Govt) having such a short honeymoon period – it’s only four weeks and people are already getting tired of Starmer .
I was not alone in predicting a short or non-existent “honeymoon” period for Starmer-Labour. Others, though not many, echoed my view; Matt Goodwin for one (and he makes money out of his blogging…well, that’s life…).
There are many reasons for Starmer-Labour having no popularity among the British people (excepting —some— Labour Party members, and/or the grifting online professional “anti-Tory” know-nothings such as “@supertanskiii”).
First of all, Starmer and his crew have no ideas worth a plugged nickel. Look at the stupid decision to halt so many infrastructure projects recently. Infrastructure investment is the very foundation for later prosperity, though I agree for other reasons with the halt to the HS2 vanity-rail nonsense, and with the scrapping of the Stonehenge tunnel (the better idea there would be a bypass, built a mile or more away).
Rachel Reeves is someone without any ideas worth anything, and I think that Starmer is similar. As to Angela Rayner and Yvette Cooper, need the question even be put?
Secondly, money is being cut off from British people who need it, including pensioners.
Meanwhile, however, Starmer has agreed to waste THREE BILLION POUNDS A YEAR on “aid” to “Ukraine” (the Jewish regime in Kiev led by the corrupt tyrant and former sleazy comedian, Zelensky).
Starmer is also throwing money at the —actually not very useful— junior NHS doctors, who only have to endure modest pay for a few years anyway before getting to fairly high salary levels. At the same time, the planned NHS hospital building and rebuilding programme has been stopped, more or less.
That is even before you start to look at the Starmer-Labour plan to destroy what little free speech exists still in this country.
Starmer was mainly (I think) a prosecutor, certainly best known for having been Director of Public Prosecutions. Looking at him, I have always been reminded of what Chekhov said to Gorky after having met, en passant, a smug young prosecutor in pre-revolutionary Russia: “…and it is pimples on the backside of humanity, like that, who dispose of the fate of people!”…[Gorky, Literary Portraits, trs. The non-existent Starmer-Labour “honeymoon” period is, of course, also a function of the unpopularity of Labour at the pseudo-“landslide” General Election, Labour having (as I repeatedly point out, but the msm rarely do) only been voted for by 4 out of every 12 people who voted (and only 4 out of every 20 if you include the 40%+ of eligible voters who did not vote at all).
A bad combination: a government voted for by, at best, 34% of the adult population (but really only by about 20%), but pretending that it is wildly popular and has a “mandate” to pass repressive laws etc.

Here we go…sex-pest depressive “Lord Walney” (former Labour Party MP John Woodcock), a complete puppet of the Israel lobby, aka Jewish Zionist lobby (former Chair of Labour Friends of Israel), and a System drone who was ejected from the Commons by the voters, only to have been then “elevated” (in his case I cannot bring myself to write “ennobled“) to the pathetic House of Lords by a Conservative Party PM, “Boris” Johnson, himself a part-Jew and strong supporter of Israel, of course.
I can't see why Starmer would give a press conference in which he strongly condemned the Southport riots but failed to mention the violence which occurred in Leeds. Why?
Incidentally, looking at “Lord Walney” in that photo, he really has aged in the past few years. He looks drugged or something, as well.
Even leaving aside the civil rights and human rights implications of “Walney’s”/Woodcock’s suggestion, what an incredibly irresponsible and ridiculous thing to suggest, to “lock down” the UK again.
The “Covid” “lockdowns” were both dictatorial and unnecessary anyway, but the point here is the huge economic damage done by them in 2020-2021. Now Woodcock/”Walney” wants to “lock down” the country again, merely because a few cars have been overturned and a police station “up North” burnt out! I don’t recall him suggesting that when non-Brits (such as the Gypsies of Harehills, Leeds) were doing the same or worse only a week ago.
Just what the UK needs— more economic damage. What a prize careerist idiot John Woodcock/”Lord Walney” is.
