I have met relatively few, not so many, Ukrainians. I have met many Russians, of all sorts. I have to say that I much prefer the Russians I have met to the Ukrainians I have met.

Subjective, yes of course. Anecdotal too, were details to be considered. However, consider the cultural riches of Russia: composers, writers, painters, philosophers and other thinkers. Now consider the Ukrainian equivalent. Frankly, there is no comparison.

This is the sort of thing that happens when free speech is attacked via not only misguided or deliberately-totalitarian anti-free speech laws but also via policy determinations that have no basis in law whatever, as with “non-crime hate incidents”. “Hate crime” itself has no real basis in law; even less so has “non-crime hate” etc.

This is akin to, parallel to, what happened during the 2020-2022 “Covid” hysteria— government wishes, or preferences, labelled as “official guidance”, and all of that farrago confused with actual law, and then “enforced” arbitrarily by police woodentops who often had, and have, no idea either as to what is and what is not law, and who also often have an inflated idea of their own powers under law.

Talking about “Covid” and thinking back to the facemask loonies seen everywhere 2-3 years ago (though not so often now the msm propaganda hysteria has died down), I saw a typical one today in a supermarket: a middle-aged woman, very fat, hauling herself along slowly, while wearing her filthy, probably 3-years-old, cloth facemask, and pushing a large shopping trolley full of high-carb, high-fat foodstuffs.

Much of what Goodwin says is correct. What weakens Goodwin, weakens Farage, weakens Reform UK, is that they are totally in the pocket of the Jew-Zionist-Israel lobby. Same goes for Toby Young, Allison Pearson, the “Free Speech Union” etc.

Moscow travelogue

Very different from when I was not far from there several times in 1993 (in Leninsky Prospekt, at the Academy of Sciences). On my second and shorter trip to Moscow, in 2007, I was in another area of the city.

Whatever may be said about Putin, he has made Moscow a very much better city than it was either in 2007 or (a fortiori) 1993, when it was, palpably, on the edge of chaos.

Sovietism had to fall, after the years of gradual decline and the uselessness of Gorbachev. It fell into near-chaos, it was ravaged and pillaged by finance-capitalist carpetbaggers (mostly Jews) from the West, and also by (mostly Jewish) homegrown predators, the so-called “oligarchs”. Gangsterism too.

Putin put an end to much of that, certainly to the outright gangsterism (in 1993, in the Yeltsin era, I was staying in the same hotel, the Ukraina, as the top-level Chechen gangsters), but there are still huge social inequalities (and, worse yet, inequities) in Russia.

I feel that Russia is still in one of its states of transition. The situation will become clearer later.

I am not a “hanger and flogger”, usually, far from it, but the sentences handed down for quite bad crimes of violence are often risibly lenient. The public are rightly concerned.

Well, Corbyn proves, once again, that he is a bit of a political joke.

At present, Reform UK is between 28% and 34% in the opinion polls, which might result in anything between 200 and 400 MPs at a general election. Corbyn’s (I think as yet unnamed) “real Labour” party has not been much tested in opinion polls but seems to be somewhere between 5% and 10%.

That might result in anything from a couple of MPs (inc. Corbyn himself) and (at peak) half a dozen or so MPs. The likelihood is that Corbyn’s new party will take a small amount of support from Reform, far more from official Labour, and so give Reform maybe (?) a dozen more MPs.

The new and totalitarian Online Harms Act is already resulting in footage of protests being censored. LibLabCon MPs supported its passage.

The silver lining to the present atrocities being committed by Israeli Jews is that even fewer people will now want to listen to the endless anti-German (and anti-European) Jew-Zionist propaganda re. the 1920s, 1930s and early/mid 1940s, which has as its real agenda the bolstering of Jewish and Zionist power in the present-day.

I disagree that 16-y-o people should vote. I should prefer a voting age of 28.

As to Starmer-stein’s desperate ploy to increase the Labour vote in 2028 or 2029, I doubt that it will have the huge effect for which he and his cronies may be hoping. The 16-17 year-olds may, most of them, prefer Labour to other parties (at present), but most will not vote, and many may not vote for Labour, especially after the spending cuts etc.

I noted years ago on the blog that Starmer-stein seemed to be politically clueless.

The “Ukrainian Army” is a collection of sacrificial cannon-fodder, commanded (ineptly) by a bunch of thugs posing as military officers, right up to the rank of general. It is losing (by death, serious injury, and capture) about 1,000 a day, which is probably 2,000 a day if you take into account desertions. It is, therefore, hardly surprising that there are no volunteers any more, and that the regime has to use press-gangs to kidnap people off the street.

This could end with the USA on one side, and virtually every other country in the world on the other side.

The 20th Century was “the American Century” but we are now in a successor-situation.

If Moscow or Petersburg are hit by serious missile attacks, Kiev might find itself flattened by nuclear attack, and if the Germans continue to assist the Kiev regime to that extent, Germany makes itself a target.

Has that ship not already sailed? Interesting, though. Were Turkey to use its massive army against Israel, that might be the end of Israel, notwithstanding Israel’s nuclear weapons.

It is only just over a century since Ottoman Turkey ruled what are now called Lebanon, Israel, Syria, and many more current regional states beside.

Incidentally, I think that many naive people think that Schindler’s List, adapted from the novel, Schindler’s Ark, is “history”, a factual account of events, whereas it is actually “faction”, i.e. mixed fact and fiction. You might compare it to the book and film, Day of the Jackal. In the latter, most of the main characters existed, as did most of the surrounding factual basis— the Algerian conflict, the OAS, General de Gaulle, the rebel leaders etc. The story, however, was a skilful blend of real events and made-up events and people.

As a matter of fact, the author of Schindler’s Ark (at time of writing of this blog still alive at the age of 89), was only a small boy in the early 1940s, and is Australian. His book is a novel, not “history” as such.

Rachael Maskell. Think I have not heard of her previously. Looks and sounds actually insane, as Dan Hodges says (and rarely do I agree with him!). She must be mentally-ill. Alternatively, she looks as if she might be affected by some drug or other. Her demeanour is very odd.

I would, had I the political power, “stop the boats”.

How? By shooting down all cross-Channel invaders, and by rooting-out those facilitating the invasion (both on the European mainland and in the UK itself).

I should also “stop the boats” by degrading and punishing the Navy and Border Force (“Farce”) if they were to prove unable or unwilling to do their duty, then by replacing those orgs with another marine force, and/or by “privateers”, i.e. licensed “stop the boats” motor vessels crewed by bounty-hunters.

Further, I would task special forces (or, again, private and specially-licensed bounty-hunters, if necessary, i.e. if the SAS, SBS etc refuse to do their duty), those “privateers” or “bounty-hunters” to be charged with eliminating the gangsters in the EU (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany etc) who are facilitating much of the invasion. Also, the fake “charity” “grifters” and other pro-invasion traitors.

It seems clear that the USA was induced by the American Jewish lobby and Israel directly to attack Iran because Israel was in serious danger of losing the recent contest, its international airport closed, its ports mostly closed or avoided by foreign ships.

Realistically, one can see what is going on here. The Army wants to tick the “we’re rough and ready, if need be” box for benefit of those MPs (and the general public) rather than say the truth, i.e. “we have only a few tens of thousands of soldiers, maybe 70,000 at most, and only a few thousand of those are really battle-ready in any sense“…

Another truthful response might be “in any real war between Russia and NATO forces, much of Europe will become a devastated and irradiated wasteland, and the UK would probably be the worst-hit of all, with its US air bases and the Trident submarine pens in Scotland” (submarine pens do exist in Western France as well, though fully under French command).

In reality, the UK is only a major player in that deadly game because it is an “unsinkable aircraft carrier” for the US forces. Why are our treacherous NWO/ZOG governments still playing that 1940s-1980s Cold War game, and why are they pretending that “we” can fight Russia (in any way at all)? Indeed, why are they still pretending that “we” might “have to” fight Russia anyway, when Russia has no interest in invading Western Europe, Central Europe, or even (most of) Eastern Europe?

I agree with much of that which Goodwin has been saying in recent months. I agree with much, not all, of Reform UK’s views. However, they have several very weak points in their armour. The worst is, of course, this pro-Israel, pro-Jewish lobby viewpoint, which may be partly sincerely-held (though, if so, it does not say much for Goodwin’s, Farage’s, or Tice’s perspicacity), but is evidently partly in place because Goodwin/Farage/Tice/Reform are afraid of being “cancelled” on TV, radio, newspapers, social media etc by the power and influence of the Jewish/Israeli lobby. There are other aspects to Reform UK policy which may put off large numbers of voters, particularly its pseudo-“libertarian” socio-economics, but also the fact that Reform will not deport “legal” non-European migrant-invaders, only (they say) the “illegals”. Reform’s only useful function, in my view, is to break up the existing System “three main parties” scam. Once that is achieved, we’ll see.

I agree, largely, with this, though:

I am surprised that Iran has (apparently) not thought of using 1980s-style Soviet-engineered atomic “suitcase bombs” in both the USA and Israel. The original ones were powerful enough to destroy anything within a radius of about 1-2 miles of the point of detonation.

Quite dispersed. At least 6 or 7 target zones. I have seen tweets suggesting nearly over 500 actual points of impact.

Remember Clausewitz. Concentration of forces. Schwerpunkt.

People generally are pretty tired of that whole hypocrisy of government saying that cuts to disability and other State benefits are somehow being “kind” or “caring”. Not so. At best, callous and aimed at “saving money” (which will then be really wasted, elsewhere). At worst, a refined form of cruelty and indeed sadism. Ian Dunce Duncan Smith, a fraud, an expenses cheat, and a total deadhead, was one of the first to do this.

In the end, some form of Basic Income, even if very modest, must be the way forward. End the bureaucratic nonsense of jumping through hoops, snooping, “assessments” etc.

I too agree. Ah. Interesting. Looks as though the numbers of alleged victims have been edited down. I thought that the Jews/Israelis were still claiming that about 1,000, or even 1,500, had been killed. Seems that (as happened at the “reconstructed” site of the early 1940s Auschwitz camp, where a “4 million victims” sign was officially altered to about a quarter of that figure), the 1,500 supposedly killed by Palestinian Arabs in southern Israel in 2023 is now 378, at least at the festival itself. The other hundreds of victims, if they existed at all, were presumably killed by the brutal Israeli armed forces themselves as “collateral damage”.

None of that, though, explains how the Israeli Jews (and those supporting them in the UK and elsewhere) think that the deaths of 378 Jews etc by a particular paramilitary/political group somehow justifies the killing by Israeli Jewish forces of anything up to 200,000 Palestinian Arabs, mostly civilian, mostly women and children (about half of the victims being under 18 years of age). Retaliation? Revenge? Blood lust? Cruelty and sadism?

The disproportion is incredible.

Bombing, white phosphorus bombing, flamethrower attacks, drone attacks, shooting, grenade attacks, cutting off of medical supplies, cutting off of food, cutting off of water, shooting people lining up for food and water.

“They” are still whining about (alleged) German actions 80-95 years ago, yet look at what is happening now in Gaza, the West Bank, Iran etc!

Of course, the Israeli Jewish game-plan seems to be to kill as many Gazans as possible, and to incarcerate the rest in concentration camps (under some such name as “safe areas”), so that Jews can colonize Gaza again.

The rest of that thread is unintentionally funny: some Labourite cretin fantasizing about how much better this fake-Labour government would have been had either Liz Kendall (WHAT?!) or (Jesus H. Christ!) Gloria de Piero had become Labour leader! Meanwhile, the only invasion that matters is continuing: 500-1,000 across the Channel most days now, with a further ~5,000 coming in “legally” as (supposedly) “high-skilled” workers (who never leave), spouses, fiancees, tourists (who never go back), “students” (who never go back) etc. Also, births to non-Europeans already here (about 1,600 births a day occur in the UK, of which the majority now are non-white). Call it a total of about 7,000. Every day…

I am very glad that I have not lived in London since 1998 (though I did live in Higher Denham, just outside London, for 6 months in 2001-2002, and worked at that time as international lawyer in London, both at Gray’s Inn, where I was leaseholder of a set of chambers, and just off Berkeley Square in Mayfair).

Ironically, my later disbarment (2016) was pronounced (by a superannuated former circuit judge chairing a 5-member panel) in the very same building where I had sat as notional “Head of Chambers” (it was actually an offshore set-up dealing with Russia, former Soviet Union, Caribbean, Brazil etc, not ordinary English Bar work), and leaseholder.

If I were to live in London today, I should probably have my Rolex watches stolen. In fact, I no longer have them anyway (sold many years ago for reasons of financial pressure, i.e. I needed the money!).

He asked if I wanted to take it any further and, honestly, I didn’t. The pointlessness of reporting a crime so long after the event is infuriating – it’s a tick-box exercise, nothing more. 

The chances of the police catching a gang with my vague description of their clothes and ethnicity must be almost nil.

Ultimately, pursuing a report would mean me enduring a bureaucratic hurdle – filling in more forms online, having more phone calls. And for what?

All of this could have been avoided if there were more police on our streets, which would serve as a deterrent to these thugs. It’s futile having a police force at all in London if they can’t adequately react to something like this.

The United States, even more than Israel, has an entitled “I can bomb you but don’t you bomb me” attitude. I well recall the scalded reaction in the USA when the World Trade Center attack happened in 2001. That only happened to other people (who, many Americans think, are scarcely people at all)…

I think that that attitude goes back at least to the Second World War, when the U.S. bombing campaign in Europe laid waste huge areas not only of Germany but of several other countries as well. At that time, there was no danger at all of any country retaliating against the U.S. mainland or its population. A feeling of invulnerability.

Hotels much the same. I was due to speak back in 1978 at the Clarendon Court Hotel, Little Venice. As to the Clarendon Court Hotel, which had once been a fairly good place (foreign Test cricket teams playing at quite-nearby Lord’s would stay there in the 1970s), the last time I saw it, around 1990 or so, it was full of…yes… “asylum-seekers”, East European Gypsies etc. Yes, that’s right…35 years ago! That crap did not start in 2024, or 2010, or even 1997.

Had there been even one dozy military policeman on duty and doing his duty, the protesters could have been told to get lost, or been arrested before they got anywhere near those planes.

This was not “terrorism” but fairly standard protest of the “action directe” type. The action that makes sense would be to actually have proper security on Britain’s few remaining RAF bases, and not to label a small protest group “terrorist”; which will, in any case, only drive the situation underground, I should imagine.

When I lived in Devon and Cornwall (both, first in a large country house in Cornwall, then in a farmhouse in Devon), I would see badgers at night quite often; sometimes, on the Devon side of the Tamar, I would drive down an almost unused single-track lane at night which was a back-lane off a back-lane. Russia or, rather, the Russian people, will eventually, in about 1,500 years, become the leading edge of the world, just as the Germanic/Anglo-American element now is. I cannot get too worked up about the Brize Norton attack, because for me the invasion of the UK is happening in small boats across the Channel, via “legal” immigration, and via births. I do not take “Britain’s defensive capability” against the (non-existent) “Russian threat” seriously, not in the slightest. Russia is only bristling because the UK is taking pointless and self-harming measures against Russia in the first place. We should be in loose alliance with Russia.

Having said that, it is clear that serious attackers, such as Spetsnaz commandos, would have no difficulty causing absolute havoc on such bases, should they ever be tasked with doing so.
