Madness. The governments of the EU states and UK do not care at all about the welfare of their own citizens.

Ha ha! Jews are quite funny (without meaning to be) a lot of the time. It’s always “all about them”, in any and all circumstances. For example, Israeli Jews destroying every single hospital in Gaza is simply war damage, and really the fault of those being bombed, but if a hospital in Israel as much as has its windows broken, it’s some kind of evil “holocaust” (and so on…).

A few hundred cowardly Jews with dual nationality leaving their own (supposed) beloved country because they wish to avoid all risk is apparently the same as the 1940 Dunkirk evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force (my own maternal grandfather having been one of those taken off the beaches then) facing possible annihilation; and with the 1940-41 London Blitz thrown in as well! No wonder so many Jews are comedians…

Having said that, I believe that the lady tweeter is herself at least partly Jewish, but not (not completely, anyway) pro-Israel.

There used to be a saying, something about (I forget which creatures) leaving the sinking ship…

Oh, dear…what a pity… and only yesterday or the day before, I read that the shares on that stock exchange were rising fast, after Israel’s sneak attack on Iran. Life is so unexpected…

…and once the Israelis run out of ground-to-air missiles, Tel Aviv and other target areas will be almost undefended, and will be ground down (as Gaza has been), assuming that the Iranian missile barrages continue. According to the US/UK msm, that might be as early as one week from now.

So much for “Tel Aviv, the high-tech city with the booming economy“…It might soon be little more than a hole in the ground.

The Israelis hide weapons in hospitals, it seems, just as (they claim) Hamas did in Gaza.

People are always saying how wonderfully talented Fry is. I cannot see it, for all his fame, acting career etc. In Jeeves and Wooster, that wonderful adaptation of P.G. Wodehouse, Fry was admittedly very good as Jeeves, but Hugh Laurie was the star, really. In Gosford Park, Fry’s police inspector ruined, in my view, the atmosphere, by importing a kind of cheap comedy into the film. As for his film about Oscar Wilde, it was nowhere as good (or as historically accurate) as the 1960 film starring Peter Finch, The Trials of Oscar Wilde. Fry’s version (if I recall it aright— I have seen it, though long ago) almost completely expunged Wilde’s heterosexual side [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Wilde#London_life_and_marriage], and said little about Wilde’s life or views outside of Wilde’s obsession with Lord Alfred Douglas and various disreputable youths.

I knew a barrister who met Fry at a wedding, and said that he, the barrister, had been quite shocked at how “left-wing” (a term I myself rarely if ever use) Fry was. Said barrister was himself Labour, though of the John Smith “centrist” (?) tendency. Where Fry’s true sympathies lie is disputed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Fry. I am unsure whether he really has what might be called an ideology. He is, of course, half-Jewish.

Iran’s most deadly missiles may not be capable of interception.

It may be (speculating wildly, so be it) that the Iranians, often though not always noted for their subtlety, have been using their “pawns” (drones and slower missiles) as sacrificial pawns (as in chess), with the idea of exhausting the Israeli supply of ground-to-air defensive missiles. Then, when the Israelis run out of countermeasures such as Iron Dome and Arrow missiles, the Iranians will launch the real stuff…

That occurs to me as I recall the arguably most famous game of the Soviet chess grandmaster Mikhail Tal (a Jew, incidentally), who sacrificed almost every piece he had on the board, even his queen, in order to deliver the final brilliant and inescapable line of moves that led to checkmate (via a minor piece, at that). I think that that game was in 1968 or thereabouts.

Horrifying. A form of infanticide or even murder, in lay terms. The deliberate killing of a completely viable foetus (which after all only means unborn baby). When you consider that it is commonplace for babies to be born days or even weeks prematurely, and then go on to thrive, this proposed law, which will obviously become law now, decriminalizes the killing of any unborn child, even if done only hours, minutes, seconds even, before actual birth, and for any reason whatsoever, so long as the expectant mother does the killing. Truly horrifying.

Not sure whether the new law will validate that, exactly, because the killing will (from what I have read, anyway) have to be by the mother to escape legal sanction.

What are the prospects for swifts?

Grim. Swift populations in Britain slumped by 66% between 1995 and 2022 and have continued a rapid downward trend. Since the last count of 59,000 breeding pairs, the population this summer is set to be just 40,000 pairs. In five years’ time there could be fewer than 25,000, unless action is taken.

A swift brick is a hollow brick that slots into the brickwork of new or old homes, providing a cavity where swifts can nest. The bricks have also been found to help other cavity-nesting birds, including the rapidly declining red-listed house martin, house sparrow and starling. Other species including blue tits, great tits, nuthatches and wrens will also nest in the bricks.

Swift bricks are made by brick manufacturers large and small, and typically cost about £35. There is a British standard for them and some developers are already fitting them to new homes.

Russia could, in theory, tell the United States that, should the US bomb Iran, Russia will bomb or rocket Israel. That would stalemate the situation, and stop the Americans from attacking Iran. It might also trigger WW3, though, and make “Armageddon” reality, both in Israel/Palestine and elsewhere.

However, Putin will not want to get Russia directly involved.

So far, Russia is winning all ways: the oil price is rocketing, gold is rocketing too, and Russia is one of the largest producer-states of both.

Also, Trump has apparently signalled to Zelensky and the Kiev regime that American military aid hitherto given to Kiev will be cut back, and priority given to the Middle East. That, as Russian forces press forward on all relevant sectors of the overall front.

In short, Putin is winning the geopolitical chess game.

Amusing to see rubbish newspapers in the UK, such as the Daily Mirror, talking about what occupations might be exempt from conscription if WW3 were to start! In the nuclear age, when immensely powerful missiles can reach UK targets in minutes (I am told, maybe 8 minutes) from launch sites thousands of miles away…

I wonder how many people actually read and believe all this 1940-cosplay?

The fact remains that, in any continental-level war, with Russia on one side, and NATO states on the other, the UK would quite soon be a charred and irradiated giant bombsite. Re. Labour’s recent supposed “stunning victory” in the recent Hamilton by-election (Scottish Parliament): when you look at the figures, Labour won but with only 31.6% of the vote. The SNP vote fell markedly (unsurprisingly) to 29.4%, and Reform UK, which had not previously put up a candidate in the constituency, came in a close third, with 26.1%; all three main candidates were within a band of 1,400 votes.

The Conservative Party got only 6%, a huge fall from its previous vote, and the six other candidates (including the LibDem) lost their deposits.

That Jew is an Israeli government minister. Openly says what most of his co-conspirators do not— that Israeli policy is genocidal, i.e. either to wipe out the Palestinian Arab population in Gaza, or to “resettle” them in concentration camps. Wait a minute…where have I heard something similar to that before?…about 90 years ago, in Europe…but back then, much of the population affected was able to leave, and go to Palestine, the UK, the USA, Australia, South Africa etc, and in many cases with considerable stolen or otherwise “acquired” monies and gold etc.

There probably are very stupid people who support Labour, and who think that Starmer-Labour is the same party once headed by Attlee, Harold Wilson etc. Not really. What now exists is a kind of “System Party” with several heads, one of which is “Labour”. Listen to Starmer. He sounds much more like a Conservative Party prime minister than anything approaching what, in the past, sounded like a Labour one.

Interesting name. “Metreveli” (“v” not “w”) is a Georgian surname. Wonder what is her background. “Florence” (her middle name) is, I think (subject to correction), a rather old-fashioned English name. My own maternal grandmother was Florence Eva [+ surname].

There may come a time when Putin or those around him decide that the only real obstacle in their path is the city of Kiev. Were Kiev to cease to exist, or be almost destroyed, that would be the end of the Kiev regime militarily, economically, and in pretty much every other way. The delays in the court system have been caused in various ways. One is closure of smaller courts. Many county courts where I myself appeared 1992-1996 and 2002-2008 are now no more; Ilford, Penzance, Poole, Bedford, Bodmin, Bow, Trowbridge, Bromley and (I think) Yeovil among them. Even more magistrates’ courts have closed, and some Crown Courts, including some in London (and in which I also appeared at times, especially in the early 1990s).

Actually, the abuse of the legal system by the malicious “Campaign Against Antisemitism” is slightly mitigated by the present delays. For example, after the “CAA” managed to get the dim Hampshire Police and the clueless “Clown” Prosecution Service (CPS Wessex, based at Winchester) to charge me by post in early 2023, the trial (despite being only in the magistrates’ court) did not take place until mid-November 2023, and the sentencing hearing was not held until mid-March 2024. Had the trial been one on a more weighty basis, requiring Crown Court trial, I should be now still awaiting my “day in court”; in fact, it might not have even happened. Many Crown Court trials are never effective, never take place.

The legal adage is “justice delayed is justice denied“. Often true, but in terms of the present repression of free speech, one could say “injustice delayed is injustice denied“…

I disagree with the lady tweeter. The “4 MPs” of Reform UK are 4 and not 93 (650 x 14.29%) only by reason of a stupid, illogical, and totally unfair electoral system. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_United_Kingdom_general_election#Full_results.

In rough terms, at the 2024 General Election, Reform scored about 2 votes out of every 12 cast. Labour got 4 out of every 12, the Con Party 3 out of every 12. In fact, 8 out of every 20 eligible did not even vote, so Labour was endorsed by only 4 out of 20.

About half of those Labour votes were cast by people who now realize that Starmer-stein lied to them about almost everything. That is why Labour (supported mainly by non-white voters) is now around the same level as Reform UK.

The unfair FPTP electoral system gives the false impression that only a tiny fringe supported Reform at GE 2024; in fact it was over 14%, and the Conservative Party, with all its money and history (and in government until the General Election) only scored 23%.

Widespread and angry political dissent is not going to go away even if Reform does. Popular discontent will simply find another channel to flow down. Another party, or a new movement of some kind, perhaps a social-national movement which goes beyond being simply a political party.

What’s wrong with the other 53%? Actually, the “53%” is nearer to 33% or even lower, because at least 20% of the whole population is now non-European and their votes should not be taken into account in such a poll.

Interesting that the police (obviously, or presumably, posing as “anti-terror” plods) got the man’s credit/debit cards barred, thus forcing him to return to the UK rather than extend his stay, move elsewhere etc. Thus we see the dangers inherent in the looming “cashless society”. If your only money is stored in electrical impulses on a screen, it is controlled, monitored, and can be cut off, centrally. Be warned.

It is almost funny how typical Westminster Bubble scribbler/talking-head types such as Nicholas Watt talk about speculative economic figures as if they have some kind of reality. “Real disposable household income to rise this year by twice as much as expected“…as of now, just empty words from “Rachel from Accounts”; meaningless.

I agree. Basic Income (at some level or levels) is the way to go. Do away with making amputees, the chronically-sick, and/or the unemployed jump through hoops. Shut down 90% of the DWP, and much of HMRC (which latter is like something written by Franz Kafka).

Not just a question of fairness or compassion. Basic Income works.

The first test of the public mood will probably be the Runcorn and Helsby by-election, about which I have blogged in the past few days. The pollsters and bookmakers are forecasting a probably marginal or modest win for Reform UK. I disagree, though I do see from where that comes, looking at the fact that, in 2024, the constituency was the 16th-safest Labour seat. However, much has changed since the General Election of 2024 and, in any case, only 4 out of every 20 eligible voters voted Labour even in 2024 (4 out of every 12 actual voters) in the country as a whole.

I am thinking that Reform will smash the by-election, despite the fact that Labour got over 50% in 2024 while Reform only got 18.1% (Cons 16%).

Everything has changed since July 2024:

a. the imperative desire to kick out a “Conservative” government headed by a (perceivedly) “unelected” and non-white PM (by voting Labour) is no longer there;

b. the continuing migration-invasion;

c. the harsh sentences given to people who supported the anti-invader protesters last summer;

d. the taking away of the pensioners’ Winter Fuel Allowance money;

e. the freeloading —and what amounts to casual petty corruption— of Starmer-stein, Rachel Reeves, Angela Rayner etc.

Now also the latest terrible attack on the sick, disabled, and unemployed, as bad as anything done by the Conservative Party in office 2010-2024.

Former Labour voters will either not vote or will change to Reform, to punish Labour. Former Conservative voters will (though how many ?) vote Reform as a quite (and the only) realistic way of sticking it to Labour, Starmer-stein and Rachel Reeves etc. People who favour Reform anyway will be motivated to vote because they know that this time they can win. People normally perhaps unlikely to vote, but who want to yell “NO!” to everything happening in this country, will mostly vote Reform.

On that basis, I think that it is possible that there could be a stunning win for Reform. If that happens, it will be the death-knell of the Starmer-stein fake “Labour”-label government, despite the fact that it has 4+ years left in office, in theory.

Election Day has not yet been notified but is widely expected to be 1 May 2025. Just under 5 weeks from today.

Leaving that aside, it will be great to see hundreds of those petty careerists lose their seats, and their salaries and expenses. That was the best thing about the 2024 General Election, when hundreds of “Conservative” MPs lost their comfortable way of life. I hope to see the same (if not more, and “worse”) applied to the present Labour Party MPs.
