I should be interested to know the composition of the jury. I dare say that, had this been an American trial (which could never happen anyway, by reason of the U.S. Constitutional free speech protections), there would be a jury selection process enabling the defence lawyers to object to, for example, blacks, women, certain football supporters, people who are fans of the “victims” etc. None of that happens now in England.

Yes. That is a very partial view. Fresh vegetables and fruits, when available, were unrationed. Some vegetables were abundant and actually had to be promoted by ads; potato, carrot etc. Fresh fish was unrationed (though in short supply), and bread was unrationed until after the war. Beer was unrationed, when available.
Naturally, the people who lived on country estates were best-placed to weather rationing. Game birds, and fish, were unrationed, and people living on a country estate would have ready access to eggs and other foodstuffs (and of course could grow fruits and vegetables in kitchen gardens or fields). Such people would also often have extensive wine cellars, so would have been able to drink French (and German!) wines bought before 1940.
I recall that the Cornish country house of which I had a lease (about 22 or so years ago) had quite large wine cellars (unstocked when I was there) which brought to mind the horror film adaptations of the works of Edgar Allan Poe:

In the 1930s, both the Soviet Union and National Socialist Germany allowed tourism, in the case of Germany free individual travel as well as group tours, in the Soviet Union mostly escorted and tightly-monitored group travel. When I lived in Devon and Cornwall (both, first in a large country house in Cornwall, then in a farmhouse in Devon), I would see badgers at night quite often; sometimes, on the Devon side of the Tamar, I would drive down an almost unused single-track lane at night which was a back-lane off a back-lane. The fastest bird in level flight (top speed: 69mph/111kph), they feed on airborne insects. Swifts are in trouble because of steep declines in insects, but also because they are losing traditional nesting sites. Swifts once nested in caves and hollow trees but moved into buildings hundreds of years ago. Modern insulation, particularly in roofs, removes the crevices and cavities where they have nested for centuries.
What are the prospects for swifts?

Russia could, in theory, tell the United States that, should the US bomb Iran, Russia will bomb or rocket Israel. That would stalemate the situation, and stop the Americans from attacking Iran. It might also trigger WW3, though, and make “Armageddon” reality, both in Israel/Palestine and elsewhere.
However, Putin will not want to get Russia directly involved.
So far, Russia is winning all ways: the oil price is rocketing, gold is rocketing too, and Russia is one of the largest producer-states of both.
Also, Trump has apparently signalled to Zelensky and the Kiev regime that American military aid hitherto given to Kiev will be cut back, and priority given to the Middle East. That, as Russian forces press forward on all relevant sectors of the overall front.

Amusing to see rubbish newspapers in the UK, such as the Daily Mirror, talking about what occupations might be exempt from conscription if WW3 were to start! In any case, were there ever a real military attack from (presumably) Russia (a conflict with which would be mad from the UK point of view— it would finish this country forever, probably), one of the first places to be attacked and eliminated (possibly by Spetsnaz attack, prior to the launch of any missile) would be Fylingdales itself.

Not (yet) quite the view I have been putting on the blog for the past three years, i.e. Russia to take all of Ukraine east of the Dnieper, as well as a wide coastal strip from the Dnieper as far as a point west of Odessa. Kiev and Odessa to be free cities (either autonomous or jointly-controlled). The rest of Ukraine west of the Dnieper to be ruled by a Ukrainian administration based in Lvov.
I think that the above formulation by me would be fair, and could form the basis for a lasting, if not very friendly, peace.
The Kellogg plan is frankly not as good as mine. It involves British and French forces effectively working with those of the Kiev regime on the ground, and has every likelihood of entangling the Western forces in conflict with Russia, directly.
Russia will never accept that plan anyway.
In any case, from the British point of view, why should we be involved at all? Ukraine has only been a supposed state for 34 years, and Britain has no historical connection with Ukraine, nor any national interest in getting directly involved.
The bottom line, though, is that Russia will never accept such a plan.
