Crime of Passion

The British TV series Crime of Passion, which ran from 1971-1973, is now almost forgotten. In fact, the main character who always appeared was the judge, played by Anthony Newlands [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Newlands#Filmography], and his Wikipedia entry does not even mention Newlands’ role in Crime of Passion; neither is there a Wikipedia entry for the series itself [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_of_passion_(disambiguation)].

In late 1971, I was just 15, and had returned from a 3-week stay with a French couple who lived in the Rue de l’Arbalete in the 5th arrondisement of Paris, a Paris which, I think, does not exist any more.

I loved Crime of Passion, which I thought at the time might be an Anglo-French production. In fact, not. It was the kind of literate, not-boring, well-made drama never seen today, and of course had no performative blacks/gays/lesbians (etc), nor any virtue-signalling nonsense in the script.

Crime of Passion was an ATV production, and was based on actual cases in the French courts, in which, until 1976, a plea of crime passionel was an excuse legale in relation to a prosecution for homicide in circumstances where a husband had caught his wife in flagrante with a lover. A successful plea of crime passionel reduced the sentence very considerably (from death or life imprisonment in most cases, to a couple of years in prison or even complete acquittal, though the latter was rare.

The change of law in 1976 was part of a general updating of laws previously based on the Code Napoleon.

Hard to believe that the surviving 29 episodes (3 others having been wiped) of that series have never been put on VHS or DVD, or revived on one of the “nostalgia” TV channels.

I found this episode on YouTube:

Who knows? Maybe Crime of Passion, along with another TV series of those times, Crown Court, subliminally led me, if only by a meandering or crooked path, to the Bar.

[“Two barges, each 80 meters long, were deliberately sunk in the Danube River in Hungary, near the “Paks” nuclear power plant, in order to temporarily raise the water level and ensure the operation of the remaining two working turbines amid an unprecedented drought.

Currently, the power plant is operating at only 25% of its capacity, while a permanent dam is being constructed in the riverbed, according to Reuters.

Romania has already shut down its last operating reactor due to low water levels in the Danube.”]

I wish I had the power to order them executed in the field.

Like a plague of rats.

Exactly what happened in the early 1920s in Germany. The Weimar Republic regime stood by as hyperinflation destroyed the integrity of the German currency. Jews from outside Germany then conspired with Jews inside Germany to exploit the terrible situation by buying assets for a fraction of the true value (the international, historic value). Industrial assets, great works of art, jewels, gold etc.

In fact, though the hyperinflation was over by 1924-1925, the events destroyed also the trust of German people in System government, and partly laid the ground for the 1933 triumph of National Socialism.

Milei has to be removed. All assets bought by Jews and Israeli organizations in Argentina should be confiscated as, in effect, the proceeds of crime.

Somewhere between a lunatic and an enemy of his own people and all people (except billionaires and/orJews, it seems).

I find myself hoping that the next “attempt” on him will succeed. The only problem would be that his present vice-President might be worse, and then succeeded by another yet worse (and Democratic Party) puppet of Israel.

This is why Basic Income must come. Marx —impliedly— foresaw it.

[“You are 59% Fascist, which makes you a Crypto-Fascist.

It would appear that there is a significant degree of agreement between your preferred political doctrines and those of fascism. Since fascism is really a mix of communism, socialism, conservatism, and liberalism, with a few innovations of its own thrown in, it is scarcely surprising that most people’s political outlook will have quite a few similarities with the doctrines of fascism. However, even after taking these thresholds into account, the most likely interpretation of your answers on the test is that you are someone who is right on the verge of being a fascist proper. Now, maybe you don’t think of yourself in that way, but nevertheless research in the social sciences has repeatedly shown that a significant percentage of the population is naturally attracted to authoritarian political doctrines (of which fascism is but one example). In fact, one study even found that in the case of people who are drawn to order and control, these values are more important to them than more mainstream political parameters, such as the traditional left and right. In all likelihood, those values are among the most important ones to you as well.

For another approach to testing for fascist beliefs, see the classical F Scale Test.“]

Ha. Amusing. 59%.

I wonder how many of both my supporters and enemies would think of me as “crypto”? I should have thought, not many. I suppose I am basically a person of reason, though.

Well, I tried that other test suggested:

Seems that I am anyway less harsh than my enemies suppose.

He has a point. After all, look at Medvedev. He is far harsher. As for others, there are many Russians far far more extreme than Putin.

She is right, but the point is that Labour is as good as finished either way. Even in 2024, Starmer-stein’s Labour only managed to get 4 votes out of every 20 eligible voters; 4 votes out of every 12 votes actually cast.

Out of every 20 eligible voters, 8 did not vote, 4 voted Lab, 3 voted Con, 2 voted Reform, 2 voted LibDem (though in fact the LibDems were far below Reform in numbers), and 1 (just about) voted Green.

Well, since then, Labour has slid in the opinion polls, and the Con Party under its Nigerian woman leader has also slid. The latest poll has Labour on only 25%, Reform on 24%, and the Cons below 20%, compared to 34% (Lab), 24% (Con), and 14% (Reform) in 2024.

Andy Burnham may have paper constitutional legitimacy, but will not have even notional real legitimacy until he holds and wins a general election. Of course, as the lady tweeter says, to hold one now would be almost suicidal. At least 100, maybe 200, Labour MPs would be culled.

That tweeter, Fiona-Natasha Syms, is an odd woman. Ex-wife of an ex-MP (Conservative).

I sometimes enjoy her tweets, but she is utterly loonie. Says she is a former “liberal Conservative”, that that she has her own (fantasy) party, “the Moderates”, which seems not very moderate to me.

Wants to take off the State Pension “Triple Lock” (thus making pensioners poorer), be more generous to young and (supposedly) mentally-impaired benefits claimants. Strange in a woman who supported and still praises the part-Jews David Cameron-Levita and “George” (Gideon) Osborne, who intensified Gordon Brown-Labour’s attack on the disabled and/or unemployed to an unprecedented extent, allowing the dishonest, dim and nasty part-Jap expenses fraudster, Dunce Duncan Smith, free rein.

Oh, and she does not want to stop the migration invasion, yet thinks that the UK needs more “defence” against the non-existent “Russian threat”.

She seems to think that a black/brown Britain would be fine, and calls anyone against that future “fash” (“fascist”), a term I only ever see, otherwise, from “antifa” and/or Jew “antifascist” tweeters.

Even today, she was tweeting in defence of that black “academic” con-man, Jason Arday, who killed himself the other day when his fakery was publicized.

Well, there it is. One cannot expect rationality from the irrational, and I suspect and have suspected that the members of her “Moderates” fantasy party are about as numerous as the empty bottles in her kitchen. If that.

I doubt that the lady’s “Moderates”, even if they existed in the real world, would do better than the smallest fringe parties. Pensioners would not vote for her, anyone sceptical of the “need” for money to be wasted on defence against fantasy “threats” would not vote for her, and neither would anyone wanting to stop the migration invasion.

In fact, she did try to become an MP at one point, at the 2016 by-election at Richmond Park, but ended up in 5th place (out of 8) with 173 votes (11 votes behind the Monster Raving Loony Party); 0.4% of the votes cast: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richmond_Park_(constituency)#Elections_in_the_2020s

Incidentally, that black “academic” faker’s contrived and proven-to-be untrue memoirs are now selling well on a wave of buying by virtue-signalling idiots. At £20+ a copy, apparently.

Ha ha. She’s an idiot. (they both are).

That Arday con-man was nearly as inventive and dishonest as the fraudulent one-time/supposed “activist” and dog’s dinner cook, “Jack Monroe”.

“Jack Monroe”— now there’s a blast from the past. I wonder whether any of the (at one time) 400+ utter mugs who were, years ago, sending her money every month (from £3 to £44) are still sending her any? Some people are such total imbeciles that it might well be so…

Looking at the mugs buying that Arday faked “memoir” book, it does tend to show that the pro-multikulti and “antifascist” types are so mired in delusion that they will do almost anything to shore up their delusionary worldview.

Public water supply, on the large scale, has to be in public ownership.

Yet many people, brainwashed by the System msm, will still vote System (Con, Lab, or the joke LibDems), in the belief that the longstanding System parties are more credible than others, even though that flies in the face of decades of their own lived experience.

If only the initial 2022 invasion by Russian forces had been planned and executed properly, in the Soviet fashion. A blitzkrieg for the sake of mercy.

Dan Hodges is not really a journalist in the traditional sense, more a tendentious and obsessed talking-head and scribbler.

Not very polite, but more or less what Hodges deserves…

I have little time for Farage, ideologically. His pro-Jew, pro-Israel stances, if nothing else, ensure that. His globalist and mindless “libertarianism” too.

Having said that, the “stunt” at Clacton was surely the stupid and meaningless “Count Binface” stunt, which was expressly backed by so many of the tired “woke” types on Twitter/X and in the msm (including Hodges).

The fact is that the old System parties, the LibLabCon-men (and women) are still running scared of Reform UK and, potentially, even more so of what can be seen coming down the tracks after Reform: maybe Restore Britain and, then, after that, real social nationalism.

The traditional System parties ran scared of Farage and Reform at Clacton. Had any of them thought they had a chance, they would have stood candidates. None did. They knew that Farage would beat them easily.

The “Binface” stunt showed, actually, how meaningless the Parliamentary circus is. More than 9,000 cretins (or disenchanted) voted for the “Binface” stunt nitwit. I suppose that, had the System parties stood, Lab and LibDem would have lost their deposits or nearly so (as happened in 2024), and that the Con candidate would have received a few thousand votes and probably come second.

Unable to say more about the actual result (i.e. Farage and Reform getting 63.34% of the vote, as against 46.2% in 2024), the msm scribblers have decided that the big story is that Farage did not turn up for the official declaration…

As blogged yesterday, Burnham is out of his depth. Not as obviously evil as his predecessor, Starmer-stein, but so far pretty obviously without real ideas, and anyway without the means or references to radically improve things in the UK.

Anyone caught deliberately setting fires at the present time (as allegedly happened in the Stourbridge case) should be executed in the field, no matter whether they are 50 years old, 20, or (as implied) about 15.

Another commentator addicted to the “we did this” idea. No, “we” did not do this; a few malicious little bastards did it (it seems), and they should be caught and executed in the field. No need for a trial. Executive action.

In fact, that tweeter really knows that “we” are not doing it: see

I have already stated my view. A couple of field executions, and the deliberate fire-raising would stop.

[“NEW: Labour MP Rachael Maskell, who once said that it doesn’t matter if mass migration causes longer NHS waiting times in working class areas, has attacked plans to house more migrants near her 90% white constituency of York Central.

She has described the plans as “unsuitable”, claiming it will cause a strain on local resources.

Funny how that works.”]

So it begins…

Rachael Maskell is an idiot (and clearly a hypocrite), but no worse than most MPs now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachael_Maskell.

Those who want more migration (invasion) into the UK, or think it not a big issue, are either traitors to the future of the British people, or totally deluded. Mass immigration impacts almost everything: housing, road and rail capacity, education, pay, State benefits (including pensions), social services, NHS services, policing, even water supply.

Don’t forget the “Conservative” (((Conservative))) Party, which presided over massive migration-invasion from 2010-2024.

[“PRIME MINISTER ANDY BURNHAM — COME TO PIDDINGTON. @andyburnham See what Whitehall sees only on a map. A village of 350 people. 46 children. No shop. No pub. No substantial infrastructure. Drive the fast rural roads — stretches with no pavement and no safe pedestrian route to the nearest town, six miles away. Now consider the proposal: accommodation for up to 1,250 male asylum seekers on the edge of our village. More than three times our entire population. Explain to our 46 children and their families how a development of this scale will work safely. Tell us where the infrastructure is. Tell us what the policing plan is — because when we asked, none was provided. Cherwell District Council has stated there was no prior engagement or consultation before the announcement. Explain why. You have spoken about giving places outside Westminster a voice. Ours is clear. 96% of those voting supported a referendum on our future. We are not asking you to read another letter. We are asking you to come here. Walk the village. Meet the residents. See the roads. Answer the questions. Do not make decisions about Piddington from Whitehall. 350 people. 46 children. One village that refuses to be ignored. We are Piddington. THE VILLAGE THAT ROARED“]

System MPs, ministers, and prime ministers take no notice of letters, petitions, tweets, or blog posts for that matter. Only one thing really scares them, and I cannot specify what that is, because the UK is nowhere near a “free country” these days. Just read between the lines, as people living under unfree governments have always done.

Now, listen— those migrant-invader bastards are not welcome in these islands. They must be, to put it plainly, concentrated in guarded camps in remote parts of the UK until they can be either deported or eliminated.

Millions are on their way. Stop them, using whatever it takes. Whatever it takes.

Oh, and if the Navy or others refuse to do their duty, dismiss them all, and recruit new personnel.

The cartoonists have picked up on it:

Refers, of course, not only to the migration invasion but also to the ludicrous propaganda being pumped out on msm about how Putin and Russia want to invade Western or Central Europe and even the UK (which they could never do anyway, and would never want to do).

Taking the propaganda at its face, I should far rather be invaded by a million or more Russians (who are, overall, as a people, basically cultured, quite often of high IQ, and of European-origin for the most part) than —as now— invaded by millions of black/brown, low-IQ, low —or no— culture (sometimes subhuman) migrant invaders, many of whom have a predisposition to sex crime (in fact, do not even regard rape etc as crimes, as can be seen in criminal court reports daily now).

As far as 99% of the migrant-invaders are concerned (not just the small-boat invaders), the best that we can expect is that they will be merely an army of parasites, living off the British people. In reality, many are also involved in one or another type of crime. A few (or maybe more than a few) are also motivated by support for out-and-out terrorism. In fact, many of the invaders hate us, despite the fact that our misguided or malicious governments have been giving them shelter, food, and spending money.

We have to stop this whole invasion, get rid of the invaders already here, and make the UK, overall, an ethnostate.

Israel must be regarded as a pariah-state, not to be traded with, or even spoken to, by civilized Europe (Christendom, if you like).

Its “fifth columns” within Europe must be dealt with.

Bolton, a pro-“intervention” (pro-war) policy hawk (who himself however managed to avoid having to see action in Vietnam: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Bolton#Vietnam_War) is associated with all the usual pro-war causes (pro-Israel, pro-“Ukraine” etc): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Bolton#Israel.

In short, a horrible old bastard.

The Kiev regime continues to hit purely civilian targets.

I think that the Russian side will soon get very tired of trying to very slowly advance in Eastern Ukraine, and may be wondering whether it really needs to keep Kiev and other major centres in existence.

I hope that the great city of Kiev will not be devastated or destroyed (again) but the way things are going look stormy. Russia cannot lose this war and will not lose this war.

Yet another Andy Burnham failure. He looks, in fact, entirely useless already. I notice that his big idea to stop the present wildfires is to “ask” shops not to sell single-use barbecues. He would be better off just doing nothing and keeping his mouth shut. At least that would not look pathetic.

Good luck to all grouse today. As people now say, “stay safe”.

How time flies— there is my blog post from 3 years ago today, and that dates from three months before my free speech trial of November 2023. Nearly three years ago. Hard to believe. Still, nice to reflect on the fact that the malicious Jews of the so-called “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”] failed to shut down the blog, even during the trial itself. It has been published almost daily since the trial and sentencing (of March 2024), and is still being published at least 25 days per month.

I was blogging about that months ago. Action causes reaction. Many effectively Russian ships fly flags of convenience. So do many effectively British ships, and the same applies across the world. This is the 21st Century, yet we are now seeing state piracy on behalf of the Kiev regime. Do not think that Russia cannot respond.

The madness should be stopped but, with the ruling circles in the West set on conflict with Russia, the situation may well escalate.

True, but —as with the Ukraine situation— this is also partly an excuse to make people forget that the disastrous and utterly stupid (but on one level, planned) “Covid” “lockdown” immediately placed the UK economy on a permanently lower level, and quite deliberately.

The sheep (you know, the voters…) almost all complied with the ludicrous farrago of fake laws, “rules” etc put out by “Boris”-idiot, little Matt Hancock, and others.

Now those sheep are suffering, or starting to suffer, and the villain is supposed to be Russia, or Iran, or anything but the Western cabals who imposed those fake laws and closed down the UK and other economies for months and years.

I was shocked to see how easily the sheep were led by those with control of the levers of mass propaganda.

“Lockdown”, “social distancing”, “the Rule of Six”, the facemask nonsense etc. All entirely unnecessary (in reality, only a handful of people in the UK actually died of Covid).

As I blogged at the time, on one level the whole “Covid” thing was a massive psychological experiment; sadly, millions of people went along with it and probably even today believe it. Even years later, I occasionally see poor loonies wearing a facemask. Probably the same contaminated piece of cloth they have been breathing through for 6 years. Complete idiots, and victims of a “psy-op” which actually was not hugely sophisticated, though plainly co-ordinated at the start.

A kind of comfort blanket for the weak-minded.

I should love to hear the real views of people such as Sir Richard Dearlove [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Dearlove], though I am not convinced that such people know a great deal more, overall, than me. They just know more detail (arguably).

Burnham continues to underwhelm. The weather this year is fairly brutal, but political leadership cannot change it one little bit.

As for “climate change”, the evidence for its existence is patchy, and its causation via “emissions” not proven, as far as I am concerned.

Further, even if there is climate change and even if it is caused by the said emissions, only what is done by the largest industrial powers, notably China, India, and the USA, would make a real difference. Britain is only sending out 1% of the said emissions, if that. In other words, even if Britain disappeared completely, or achieved “Net Zero”, the difference in emission-output would be somewhere between 1% and zero.

What political leadership in the UK can do is to plan ahead and to take strategic decisions that have practical outcomes.

The most important action that should be taken is to stop mass immigration. All the millions of migrant invaders (“small boat” invaders, “legal immigrants”, and those born to immigrant mothers or to stupid British women impregnated by non-Europeans) use water, for one thing. 55 million people lived in the UK when I was born (1956); now, 65-70 million.

The next thing that government can do is to ameliorate the effects of continued hot weather. Build more reservoirs. Not one public reservoir has been constructed in 34 years in the UK. I now read that some are being planned and that a few have even been started. However, it takes years to construct a large reservoir, and months or —more usually— years for such reservoirs to fill, especially in periods of low rainfall.

A further action that would help is to give some financial help to planters and growers who want private reservoirs (which can cost up to £2M). That helps because the water for irrigation would then come from the private reservoir, not from public reservoirs, rivers, and aquifers.

Of course, none of the above can change the weather, but those and other measures might help to mitigate the effects.

I once lived for a while on a Caribbean island without reservoirs or (when I was there) any desalination plant (one was being built while I was there). In fact, there was no mains water on the island at that time. However, all large or medium-size houses were built around a large tank, so that when it did rain (torrentially, in hurricane season), water was retained. Certainly, the villa in which I lived never ran out of water for showers etc (you had to buy drinking water, imported from the USA, mostly).

UK governments should make new buildings include such tanks, and also potential air-conditioning. Yes, there is a cost penalty; well, boo-hoo. It is necessary.

Reverting to Burnham, my initial view of him as someone who just wants to do what appears popular (except for stopping the migration invasion, of course) is daily reinforced.

Look at the “P.C. Harper” case, re. the tinker/”traveller” criminals who killed a policeman a few years ago. The big picture strategy would be to remove or eliminate such “traveller” criminals, if necessary as a whole “community”, rather than horse around, as Burnham is, trying to prevent a few individual ones from getting early release from prison. In fact, he is only doing that because he does not want the mass media to report that he is doing nothing.

Strategy, not day-to-day tactics.

The largest oil tanker carries 2 million barrels of oil, worth $200 million. A 30-day voyage from the Persian Gulf to China costs an amount equal to 7.5% of the cargo’s value. That is, one barrel out of every 13 goes towards the cost of transportation.“]

Morning thought

Heard some idiotic woman from a quango on BBC Radio 3 news while driving. Blaming “climate change” for Britain running short of water. No mention of the fact that “we” (the System authorities) are importing about a million unwanted blacks and browns every year, some of which are breeding. Might that not have something to do with the water shortage? (he asked, rhetorically…).

The use of the outdated “right”/”left” labels is just not useful these days.

There is at least an arguable position that what might be called “World Jewry” has a long-term plan to use Argentina as a kind of bolthole or secure base while war (nuclear war), and famine ravage much of the rest of the world, war and famine which the Zionists themselves are doing much to bring about (Ukraine, Iran, Middle East/Mediterranean).

Conspiracy theory? Possibly, but then look how many of those “conspiracy theories” have proven to be accurate analyses in recent decades.

In many ways, Galloway is a clever man, but in some ways he is stupid and hopelessly —indeed wilfully— ignorant. Hitler and National Socialism (and the crimes of Stalin and the CPSU) are blind spots for him.

A grade-A “grifter” too, of course.

Galloway tweeted against me a couple of times many years ago.

[“The ‘vetting process’ of populist parties exists to screen out people who are simultaneously intelligent AND honest. Honest idiots can be tolerated because they are easy to manipulate. And intelligent psychopaths can too, because they will agree with the corruption.

But honest and intelligent people are poison for them.”]

Once again, well-said by Yerbury. I myself have made the same points often, on the blog, on Twitter (before a pack of Jews had me expelled in 2018), and elsewhere, over the years.

I recall an old friend, now-deceased, saying to me and a couple of others in the 1980s about how “any one of us could be an MP for any of the [then] three main parties, were we willing to sell our principles for a career, and to tolerate the bullshit”. Very true.

Basically, just a horrible tribe.

Still, what goes around comes around…

Just a horrible tribe, as said previously.

Typical. There have been, over the years, thousands of such faked “antisemitic” attacks, including quite a few in the UK. A Jew lawyer in Scotland —Glasgow, I believe— was convicted some years ago of faking “antisemitic” attacks; unfortunately, his sentence was far too lenient. I think that he was even allowed to continue working as a solicitor.

Par for the course. Look at “Mark Lewis Lawyer” and his cronies, a whole pack of dishonest Jew lawyers. Lewis has more than once cheated his own clients, and has contrived a number of fake “antisemitic” incidents over the years, both for Zionist propaganda purposes and to make money for himself, his present wife, and others. He’s a criminal.

[“Pastor Mitri Raheb has warned that, if current conditions continue, the Palestinian Christian presence in the West Bank could disappear by 2050, amid worsening economic conditions, escalating settler violence, and growing restrictions and military checkpoints. According to Raheb, more than 200 Christian families have left the West Bank since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, while church leaders report that thoughts of emigration are becoming increasingly common, particularly among young people.

These concerns are especially evident in Taybeh, east of Ramallah, the last entirely Christian town in the West Bank. Churches have documented the departure of more than 15 families since October 2023, alongside attacks targeting the town’s lands and residents’ property, as well as its holy sites.

While the Christian population in the West Bank is currently estimated at between 40,000 and 45,000, their share has fallen from 6% in 1967 to just over 1% today. Warnings are growing that continued emigration threatens the presence of the “living stones” in a land to which they have been connected for two thousand years.”]

Blast from past

I wrote the following words in July 2024:

“Regular readers will know that I have blogged recently about the fact that Starmer-Labour has no real mandate. The electoral system of the UK has been broken beyond easy repair.

At GE 2024, out of every 20 people eligible to vote, and in very rough terms, 8 did not vote at all, 4 voted Labour, 3 voted Conservative, 2 voted Reform UK, 2 voted LibDem, and 1 voted Green.

That is Starmer’s and Labour’s mandate— 4 out of 20. For pedants, arguably, 4 out of 12. Not much of a mandate either way.

[IanRobertMillard.org blog: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2024/07/28/diary-blog-28-july-2024/]

In retrospect, plainly correct, if I myself say so; the point, though, is that, if that was Starmer-stein’s very inadequate mandate, how much less of a mandate does Andy Burnham have?

Andy Burnham has no real legitimacy at all.

I should think that a hung Parliament is quite likely, on present polling. Labour will fall back, the Con Party stay back, while Reform looks to have shot its bolt by being too pro-Israel, pro-Jewish lobby, by failing to be truly hardline on migration invasion, and by being far too sleazy as well. Still, Reform will get votes by not being LibLabCon; a default choice, if you like. Restore? Slightly better, ideologically, than Reform —but not much— and even more of a one-man-band than Reform. Greens? Hard to say. Will its odd alliance of “antifascist” oddities and pro-Islamist Muslims last? Maybe, maybe not.

TFR” = “Total Fertility Rate”: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_fertility_rate.

From antiquity to the beginning of the industrial revolution, around the year 1800, total fertility rates of 4.5 to 7.5 were common around the world.[2][1] After this TFR declined only slightly and up until the 1960s the global average TFR was still 5.[3] Since then, global average TFR has dropped steadily to less than half that number, 2.3 births per woman in 2023.[1]

The United Nations predicts that global fertility will continue to decline for the remainder of this century and reach a below-replacement level of 1.8 by 2100, and that world population will peak in 2084.[3]

Fertility is still high only in parts of Africa and in some parts of Asia (Afghanistan, Pakistan etc).

[“Jason Arday was never trained as a sociologist.

Jason Arday has no degree, no Master’s and no PhD in Sociology. None. Zero.

His entire formal academic training is in Education and Physical Education: BA in Education Studies and Physical Education MA in Education and Pedagogy A second Master’s in Education PhD in Education — specifically on peer-mentoring among student teachers training to become PE teachers.

That is a doctorate in physical-education teacher training. It is not sociology. It contains no sociological theory, no sociological methods, and no sustained engagement with the core literature of the discipline.

Yet within a few years the same man was: Appointed Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Durham. Put in front of students teaching modules called Sociology of Education and Societies in Transition. Then made Professor of the Sociology of Education at Glasgow. Then made Professor of the Sociology of Education at Cambridge.

Students were paying close to ten thousand pounds a year. Some of that money was buying teaching and supervision from a man whose highest qualification in the subject he was employed to profess was nothing.

He had never studied sociology as an undergraduate, never taken a Master’s in it, and never written a doctoral thesis in it.

The word “Sociology” appeared only in the job title. Institutions simply accepted the re-description. A PE-and-education academic was re-labelled a sociologist and students were charged elite university fees to be taught by him. That is not an academic career progression. That is a category error that successive universities chose not to notice.

My mind has been blown by this revelation. No wonder his students report him leaning on desks talking about celebrities and inequality! He appears to have known absolutely nothing about the subject he was teaching!“]

From any reasonable or logical view, the push for war with Russia is just mad, but the fact is that secret cabals and ruling circles in the West are pushing for war, promoting the view that conflict and even outright war with Russia is inevitable and even desirable.

My own view is that Britain should leave NATO, and keep its own nuclear deterrent under solely British control (unlike Trident). Britain should cultivate better relations with Russia, and would then be able to receive gas and probably oil at cost price, as well as having a huge market for British goods and services.

Morning thought

I saw a few minutes of one of those boring TV shows about buying, renovating, and selling/renting unaesthetic little houses. In this one, the buyers were two African women, I think sisters. In the brief segment I saw, they were buying the house “as an investment“, with the idea of renting it out and also getting a capital gain. The younger sister had just graduated from somewhere calling itself a university, and hoped to make a living out of property, i.e. renting houses out to people (who would therefore have to use much of their modest pay to rent it). The “British” msm thus commends buy-to-let parasitism: someone will have to work to get money so that those Africans can live, parasitically, upon the labour of the tenants. It’s just wrong.

It might be a good idea for all those with more than a half-acre of land to set aside a quarter of an acre for growing food. That sounds like a small area, and is, but it is possible to grow quite a lot of food, in season, on such an area, even in the open rather than under glass; especially in southern England. For example, ~2-5 tons of tomato (~5,000-20,000 pounds weight). Or 2,500-4,000 pounds of broccoli. Or 5,000-8,000 pounds weight of potato.

It can be seen that a quarter-acre, or even an eighth of an acre, can produce rather a lot of food, especially vegetable food.

Not a complete answer, of course, and many people have no open space at all, but certainly an idea to consider for those with the possibility.

Were Europe to face nuclear devastation, I doubt that the USA would get involved. Russia has 6,000+ nuclear weapons, many of them placed on unstoppable strategic missiles. Would the American ruling circles really put their cities, towns, military and naval bases in the hazard if Kiev, Warsaw, Berlin, even London were destroyed? I think not.

As for the USA, imagine if, say, its most important or populous ~200 cities were to be destroyed. At the bottom end, that means places such as Miramar, Florida, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa; places of which most people (even most Americans) have never heard. The USA would take about a century, maybe several centuries, to recover.

I think that the USA will keep the Mutually Assured Destruction threat for its own protection, but only for itself; not extended to the “NATO allies”.

“A top military official has claimed that Nato is more than a decade behind Russia’s military capabilities, months after a British brigade was wiped out by a Ukrainian unit in war games.

Last year, the UK took part in a war simulation in Estonia involving more than 16,000 troops from 12 Nato countries but were ‘destroyed’ by Ukrainian troops in a ‘horrible’ defeat.

The embarrassing loss came only months before Ukraine’s former commander-in-chief warned that it will take more than a decade for Nato to catch up to half of Russia’s military capabilities.

Valerii Zaluzhny, considered to be one of the most trusted public figures in Ukraine, has said Nato was still behaving as if future conflicts would be similar to the Second World War.

Kyiv‘s ambassador to Britain reportedly said: ‘Most likely, Nato will remain in the same form as it is, and will spend 12 years, like Ukraine, transitioning to standards that need to be achieved in order to reach at least half of the level of the Russian Federation.’

The former general added that Ukrainian forces were superior to armies in Nato, who were still working to ‘doctrines’ set up in the 1940s, according to The Times.”

In an interview with Chenk Uygur from The Young Turks, Kent said that the group met at Carlson’s home in Maine after concluding that both major parties repeatedly lead to “another war in the Middle East,” regardless of how Americans vote.

Kent also said that after participating in the 2028 presidential election, they may run for other offices, and acknowledged that difficulties in registering candidates may force them to nominate a candidate through an existing party. Here is a quote from Kent about the main goals of the group:

We don’t want Israel dictating our foreign policy. We don’t want any more wars abroad. We don’t want to run a huge empire.”

Kent noted that the group has urged Carlson to run, but he has repeatedly declined. They plan to fund this activity through donations from ordinary citizens, rather than from corporate political action committees:

“As soon as you start taking money from corporate political action committees… you’re really not in control.”

Regarding J.D. Vance, Kent said that he still has a personal good relationship with him, but called him a “captive of the two-party system” who will have difficulty convincing voters to trust him in 2028 after he “defended Trump’s war.“]

British justice in 2026

https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/violent-north-east-youths-subjected-34385476

“Violent youths subjected a man and a woman to a shocking unprovoked city centre attack over a “harmless” comment. The victims walked past some teenagers sitting in a doorway and the woman remarked that they had a nice cool place to sit on a hot night.

Some of them took umbrage at that and it quickly escalated into violence, with then-16-year-old Thomas Courtney and two girls attacking her and leaving her injured. Courtney and then-15-year-old Lincoln Hudson then subjected her friend to a brutal attack in which he was repeatedly punched and kicked, including to the head after he fell to the ground, leaving him unconscious

Newcastle Crown Court heard both victims have been badly affected by the attack, with the man having become so depressed he tried to kill himself. However Courtney and Hudson have now been spared immediate custodial sentences after the court heard they have turned their lives around in the three years since the attack.

[Chronicle Live]

Regular readers of the blog know that I am not a “hanger and flogger” (usually). Is that result justice for the victims, and/or for society, though? I think not.

Even if, as their Counsel claimed —and which I doubt— those youths have “turned their lives around” in the (absurd delay) three years since the attack, the court should have ordered them both to pay ongoing compensation for life to the victims. £10 per week to each victim, and from each defendant.

Admittedly, it is now 18 years (2008) since I was in active Bar practice, I was never really a serious criminal practitioner (though I did a number of Crown Court trials and many many magistrates’ court ones in my early days, meaning the early 1990s) and I concede that I do not know whether the courts even have such a power, in those exact terms, but if not they should have.

Well, there it is. Britain 2026, in which people are still being prosecuted and even imprisoned for tweets and other online comments…

Incidentally, I was just looking at other sentences handed down by the Crown Courts of the North-East. One was a man who shook his own child, a baby, so violently that it suffered “catastrophic and lifechanging injuries“. He had taken cocaine, and drunk no less than 11 cans of lager. He failed to summon timely medical help. Sentence? 4 years (so out in 2 years, or less). This is not justice.

As the Americans say, that surely is a “no-brainer”. I featured, some time ago, on the blog, a news report about some inept armed robbers who targeted the house, in the wealthy Sandbanks neighbourhood of Dorset, of a director/owner of a number of care homes.

They were caught not long after that, and had left enough evidence behind them to ensure a conviction and long sentences of imprisonment.

What interested me about that report, apart from the great ineptitude of the criminals, was the fact that despite having been unable to access the safe, they still escaped with hundreds of thousands of pounds, much of it in cash. Does that not raise a number of red flags?

These exploitative private care homes, that charge the elderly or their families huge amounts yet pay their staff peanuts (and often offer residents poor food and care), are a social crime as far as I am concerned.

https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/machete-thugs-jailed-intimidating-violence-11079872

Two men who attacked a frail 82-year-old antique weapons collector in his own home have been jailed. Andrew Paull and Nathan Flower burst into the home of the pensioner, who is now 85, as he slept in bed.

Truro Crown Court heard Paull, 49, and Flower, 33, struck him multiple times with a machete as he tried to get out of bed. The pair demanded they wanted his safe keys, believing he had gold and cash in it.

In fact, the safe was empty and the elderly man was pushed down the stairs at his property in Penrice Park, St Austell, in April 2024. They fled with £350 in cash, bank cards and some keys.

The victim suffered cuts to his face, hand and wrist and was left in what a judge called a “quite pathetic state” and a “broken man”. Paull, of no fixed abode, and Flower, of Basset Road, Camborne, admitted wounding.

The court heard drugs had blighted the lives of both defendants. Judge James Adkin jailed them both for 27 months and said they used “intimidating violence against a vulnerable individual in his own home”.

[Cornwall Live]

Can anyone reading that report think that a mere 27 months was a suitably severe sentence for having broken into the home of an 82-y-o pensioner as he slept, hit him repeatedly with a machete, threatened him, robbed him, then pushed him down a flight of stairs?

Frankly, that sentence is a travesty, a disgrace, and that Judge Adkin, whoever he is (I had not previously heard of him), should be ashamed of himself.

I have no idea what the defendants’ “previous” might have been, but odds-on they both have records as long as the arm of the law [used to be].

What makes that wholly inadequate sentence even more disgraceful is that the convicts will actually serve no more than half of the headline time, so about 13 months, and very likely even less than that.

I have, as previously noted, never been a “hanger and flogger” but, as far as I am concerned, such vicious crimes deserve a flogging, and a mercilessly harsh one. (yes, of course I know that our laws do not now provide for such a sentence; they should do, in cases of such viciousness).

https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/man-rams-another-car-beats-11068072

A thug driver lost it and rammed another man’s car before proceeding to beat him up repeatedly during an unprovoked attacked, court papers have revealed.

Paul Scrafton used his black Seat Ibiza as a weapon to ram his victim’s vehicle three times.

During the unprovoked incident in Mountlea Drive, Par, near St Austell, on December 17 last year, Scrafton, “savagely beat the victim with eight blows”.

At a sentencing at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court on Friday (July 17) of the 50-year-old from The Mount in Par, magistrates described the attack as a “brutal and sustained assault” leaving the victim with broken glasses and his car shunted across the road.

Sentencing Scrafton to 52 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, the magistrates said: “This was an unprovoked attack of a serious nature. It was a horrific incident, where a vehicle was used as a weapon to ram the victim’s vehicle three times.

“The defendant then savagely beat the victim with eight blows, breaking his glasses, which was a brutal and sustained assault and the victim’s car was shunted across the road with a vehicle being used in dangerous manner.

“The victim suffered physical and psychological harm and has been impacted dramatically and continues to suffer anxiety.

[Cornwall Live]

A suspended sentence, for that? Unbelievable.

Not that I believe in over-sentencing, though. In fact, over-sentencing is the major cause (apart from this poor country being swamped by non-Europeans) for the serious shortage of prison space. Time after time I see (in the newspapers) people getting 2, 3, even 4 years for crimes which really merit months not years (if any time at all); and that is so regardless of the fact that most prisoners now serve only 50%, 40% or, in some cases, 30% of the headline sentences.

[“CABINET MINISTERS’ CRIMINAL RECORDS TO BE KEPT SECRET FROM THE BRITISH PUBLIC. Good morning to the millions of everyday, hardworking Brits waking up on this Monday! You honestly cannot make this level of establishment cover up up!

A legal tribunal has just ruled that the British public will be banned from knowing which Cabinet Ministers declared past criminal convictions during their vetting process. This secret ruling comes after Louise Haigh was forced to resign over a hidden fraud conviction for making a false police report, only for Andy Burnham to bring her straight back into Cabinet as his right hand woman! Everyday British citizens are subjected to ruthless criminal background checks just to get a basic job in teaching, healthcare, or security. Yet the politicians wielding immense power over your life get special legal protection to hide their criminal convictions from the very voters who pay their salaries. They demand total transparency from you while running a secretive two tier system to protect themselves.”]

As previously said, neither side should be directly targeting civilians. The Kiev-regime side is at least as culpable in that regard as is the Russian side and, moreover, has been doing it for far longer, since 2014 in fact.

[“What is happening in the Middle-East around Palestine, and its knock on effects in Europe, are overwhelmingly a direct consequence of Zionism.

Zionism is not simply Jews existing. Zionism is a political force that exists to further the interests of the state of Israel, and works to impose a world order based upon the supremacy of that state, and the enslavement or destruction of everything else. It is an inherently genocidal force in the same way that ISIS and its vision of a global caliphate cleansed of unbelievers was genocidal.

It is not a political force that British people, or any other people, can co-exist with and it cannot be permitted to organise here.“]

Quite right.

You heard it first here. I have been blogging for years about how Labour would “solve” the small boats invasion by rubberstamping entry for the fake “refugees” either in France or even in their home countries.

As it is, 80% of “asylum” applications are approved. Burnham and his cabal will raise that to 95%. The rest will either be deported, or not, but will probably return down the line with different cover stories.

Same goes for the “asylum hotels”. They are being shut. Fine, but to where are the migrant invaders being transferred? To private rental properties, and to social housing which should be for British people only.

Even beyond that, 90% or 95% of the migrant-invaders are here superficially legally, as “tourists”, “family members”, or as “students”, or on work visas (mostly granted on fraudulent applications), and/or as fiancees, spouses etc.

Another aspect of the invasion consists of births to non-white women and to stupid white women impregnated by non-whites.

τιμωρία γάρ ἐστι τοῖς ἀγαθοῖς μὴ ἐθέλουσιν ἄρχειν τὸ ὑπὸ χειρόνων ἄρχεσθαι

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”

[Plato, The Republic]

The passage above is drawn from The Republic, Book I, 347c–e.

Here Plato has Socrates set forth why the best men enter political life, that is, why they enter into the life of the polis, the city understood as a body politic. Politics, in the Greek sense, is not reducible to factional struggle. It concerns the ordering of the common life.

To withdraw from it entirely is to become, in the older sense, an idiōtēs, from which the modern word “idiot” ultimately derives: the merely private man, severed from the obligations of citizenship and the responsibilities they entail.

For this reason, rule properly belongs to those with the capacity to govern. Such men cannot withdraw from civic responsibility without permitting a greater injustice: the rise of inferior men who possess neither the strength of mind nor the force of character required to govern.

[“The United States of Israel

If Section 219/1217of the NDAA becomes law, we will have surrendered our Constitutional Republic to the Zionists. It will literally be the end of our country as we know it. When I was travelling to Israel on a regular basis back in the mid- to late-1990’s as part of my duties with the United Nations, I was always struck by how closely many Israelis identified with the United States. On national holidays, many Israeli motorists would fly two little plastic flags from the windows of their cars—one the blue and white Star of David, and the other the Stars and Stripes. “We see ourselves as little America”, my Israeli host would explain when I pointed this out. The reality was far different. The Israelis conspired against their American counterparts behind their backs, and the US intelligence and security services viewed Israel as a threat to US national security. At one or another time, both Reform and Restore looked promising, but neither is social-national, so both are now deflating, though Reform may still become either the Government or the Opposition after the next general election, though not via its own merit but by default.

What is required is not to shrink the State but to utilize State assets and tax monies properly.

  • Piers, allow me to offer some advice. I’m not going to debate who is right or wrong – Russia or Ukraine – right now. That’s not the point. I simply want to say that your media outlets have been misleading the public for two years, constantly claiming that Ukraine is winning. And then suddenly, it turns out that it is on the verge of collapse. Imposing false narratives ultimately becomes a disaster for yourselves – for the people of England, Europe, and America. Your endless wars, which are based on these false narratives and disinformation, create massive waves of refugees that are overwhelming your own countries. And all of this is happening because of your own actions.

Saturday quiz

Well, 8/10 this week, thus trumping the 5/10 scored by political journalist John Rentoul. I did not know the answers to questions 6 and 7.

[“Excl: Whitehall officials are growing concerned about how little time Andy Burnham has spent in Downing Street since becoming Prime Minister.

At a Cabinet Office all-staff meeting earlier this week, First Secretary Louise Haigh even joked No10 was “extremely distressed” by how often the PM was away from the building – before stressing it was because he was “so dedicated and committed” to getting out around the country and delivering his agenda.

Haigh also told officials to “take your cue from the Prime Minister’s ambition”, saying he was “not the kind of politician that has to have a full plan before he starts diagnosing the problems in the country”.

She urged civil servants to bring forward ideas “no matter how risky or politically unpalatable it seems” and to “put it in front of us and let’s thrash it out”.]

Ah. So Burnham is “so dedicated and committed to getting out and around the country and delivering his agenda” yet actually has no real agenda, so what his travelling around really means is his showing off and spouting meaningless hot air. Pathetic.

Also, if this latest government of clowns has a supposed or worked-out “agenda”, why would they be asking civil servants to come up with ideas? Because Burnham and his cronies have none?

It sounds very much as if the mindset is “Britain needs a way forward but we have no idea what that should even be, let alone how to achieve it“…

Utterly pathetic.

Further thought: while, in strict British Constitutional theory, there is nothing to prevent Burnham becoming an MP “by arrangement”, then simply taking over as Prime Minister, in the real political world he will not be thought of, by most voters, as really legitimate until and unless he holds a general election.

At present, despite Labour now overhauling Reform UK in some opinion polls, it is quite likely that any early general election would result in Labour losing about half its present 405 MPs. If it were to reduce its numbers anywhere below 326, it will be seen as, and indeed would be, a lame duck government.

That is Burnham’s dilemma. At present, he seems to be against holding a general election, but unless he can pull a rabbit out of the hat soon, Labour will be toast (again).

Labour’s polling numbers will probably start to decline (again) before long.

[“Fox News, citing a new chart, announced that approximately two-thirds of the United States’ 2,330 Patriot missiles, held before a potential war with Iran, have been expended, reducing the US Army’s air defense system reserves to about 800 missiles!

Additionally, according to information released by Fox News, half of the U.S. THAAD air defense system’s reserves have also been consumed.“]

Bad news for the USA, Israel, and the Kiev regime, as well as the fake “states” of the Gulf; good news for both Iran and Russia.

Jesus H. Christ! This is what Europe is facing— an invasion by barbaric untermenschen. Mow them down.

[“Collectivism is an evolutionary behaviour that enables people to survive things that they could never survive as individuals, and to develop civilisations and higher forms of living.

Whereas extreme individualism, in nature, is the reserve of primitive creatures and organisms.

The consequence of this is that collectivist societies and political forces will always dominate, in the long term, over individualistic and Liberal ones because they have, on average, an intelligence advantage.

The kind of neo-liberal hyper-capitalist individualism that exists on the ‘right’ today is a consequence of dysgenic societies that have facilitated the survival of people who in previous times would have either died or been killed off due to their selfishness and greed.

This is why Thatcherite, neoliberal politics is a dead end – it has no future because in times of real political crisis evolution kills it off.”]

Of the several leaders of small nationalist parties in the UK at present, Yerbury stands out by reason of his powers of analysis and reason. His views seem to be quite similar to my own, in general, and from what I have read of them, so that is, of course, a strong recommendation for me.

Our animal friends.

The behaviour of many of the [Israeli] Jews is so appalling that even a Jewish Zionist scribbler is pained by their sadism and cruelty.

I have taken very little interest in the Manchester mayoral election circus. I just looked at the winner, one Bev Craig [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bev_Craig], a lesbian who sees no problem with the migration invasion (despite Manchester having been hit very hard by it).

Incidentally, why do so many female MPs, especially Labourites, call themselves by funny-peculiar diminutives (“Bev”, “Cat” etc)?

That tweet is right. People are not going to vote, many or even most of them, and the reason is because they hate and/or despise the parties standing. In the Manchester case, they had no faith, and were right to have no faith, in either Reform or Restore, let alone the System parties.

Why then did Labour win, albeit by getting 47% on a 25% turnout, i.e. by getting only about 12% of all eligible voters’ votes? Simple. “Ethnic” (non-white) voters, and/or public service worker voters.

Put simply, about 88% of the people of Manchester did not want Labour enough to vote for the new not-a-lady mayor.

Kiev-regime terrorism, probably.

John Cleese once again proves that he is invertebrate (has no backbone).

90% of the time when there is something rotten in the body politic, “they” are behind it somewhere.

Translates to a Commons with about 303 Labour MPs (about 23 short of a majority, and therefore requiring Labour to compact with the LibDems, or SNP, or both); 160 Reform UK MPs (official Opposition); 72 LibDems; 59 Cons; 24 SNP; 8 Greens [etc].

Perhaps social nationalism will rise up in 2033, 100 years after 1933…
