For once, I agree with everything Fox has written.

Whatever one may have thought about Sinn Fein and its military wing (the IRA) in the past, at least it was an honest and clear expression of political will. Now, it has become not dissimilar to the other fake Celtic “national” parties such as the SNP and Plaid Cymru, in other words a farrago of “anti-racism”, “anti-sexism”, pro-mass immigration, hostile to any true expression of European culture. Result? Most Irish people have turned against it, and those who are still voting for Sinn Fein are doing so mostly for reasons of misguided nostalgia, it seems.

Again, for once (?) I agree with what Jayda Fransen says here. Farage is indeed a System stooge, but sometimes things have to work out in particular, and sometimes unexpected, ways.

Yes, Farage and Reform UK are not social-national and, yes, the existence of Reform UK is blocking the emergence of anything new that is social-national.

Also, it is to be hoped that Reform UK will help to destroy the now useless and hopeless Conservative Party, and thus destabilize the existing rigged System which depends upon the illusion of a basically binary “choice”.

Faragist diversion (UKIP) did destroy the rise of the BNP under Nick Griffin in and after 2005, and especially after 2009.

2024 is not 2015, when UKIP got 12% of the national vote but no seats. Why? Because the governing party, the Conservatives, were still riding fairly high in 2015. This year, the Conservative Party looks all but washed-up.

That may or may not mean that Reform UK gets Commons seats, but it does mean that a large number of Con seats are going to be lost because 10% or 15% of people, maybe even 20%, are going to vote Reform. That does also mean that Labour will thereby benefit, but most voters for Reform UK will be willing to accept that as the price for both destroying the Conservative Party and making a loud protest.

I have previously mooted, on the blog, the idea that there may be a bloc of “secret” Reform UK supporters who will not reveal, even to polling staff, their potential General Election voting intention.

I do not know whether such a bloc exists, or how large it is if it exists, but if it does indeed exist in any but marginal size, it could be a gamechanger.

Reform UK has been polling between 13% and around 17% recently. If the “secret” Reform voters exist and number the equivalent of one-tenth of the known Reform voters, then the Reform vote might be anywhere between 14% and 19%. Add on the possibility of polling errors, and that might result in anything from 12% to 21%. We shall only know for sure on and after 4 July. Three weeks and three days from today.

An intention to vote Reform UK perhaps has not the level of what might be called “socio-political embarrassment” (for people living in a conformist situation) that an intention to vote, say, BNP or National Front used to have, but I think that the constant Matthew Parris-style “oh my goodness, look at those hillbillies!” msm propaganda directed against the “left behind” areas (such as Clacton), and against so-called “racism” etc makes some people both reticent in expressing their anger at what has happened and is happening but, at the same time, more determined to do something about the situation, such as voting in a way not approved by the System puppets, the scribblers, the talking heads etc.

As for that “Conservative” nonentity (apparently one Andrew Browne: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Browne_(politician)), I am not sure that I had even heard of him until today.

Browne has already jumped ship and is not standing for re-election in the redrawn seat [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Cambridgeshire_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2020s], which seat may well fall to the LibDems if there is enough tactical voting, but has decided to stand in the new and neighbouring seat of St. Neots and Mid-Cambridgeshire [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Neots_and_Mid_Cambridgeshire_(UK_Parliament_constituency)].

Browne seems to be saying there that the Conservative Party will do OK in the election because it always did, in elections since 1945. How do people with such limited mentality ever become MPs, well-paid journalists (as he was) etc?

As for his assertion that the present-day Conservative Party embodies “small-c conservative values“, hardy ha ha… Look at what it has done in the past 14 years alone.

Tim Stanley was right to state that “the [Conservative party] brand is…gone” and that no-one even likes the Conservative Party any more. Also, that Starmer is “not socialist” (and, he added, is therefore not the frightening figure the Cons pretend). I tend to think that Starmer is alarming, but not because he is in any way “socialist”. Just that Israel-lobby and Jewish-lobby repression comes naturally to him.

As I blogged three days ago, I do not really blame Sunak for not giving a tinker’s cuss about the Normandy Landings commemoration. After all, the bastard is not really British, is only (posing as) Prime Minister until 4 July 2024, about three weeks from now, and is (as I blogged) part of a transilient bloc of cosmopolitan wealthy Indians who are not rooted in the UK, or even in India, and whose natural (temporary) home is in places such as Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, Westchester etc.

The reason is obvious. VAT raises a huge amount of money, and does so from everyone in the country, from the rich, the affluent, the less affluent, and the downright poor. The only way for an individual to avoid paying it is to be gifted the goods or services in question or (in the case of goods) to steal them.

Naturally, the wealthy prefer VAT to income tax, or capital gains tax.

Call it just over 10%. Of those who would prefer to vote, maybe 15%.

Very speculative, I admit, but there is no doubt that many are anyway in that “politically homeless” position. Anecdotally, I have heard people say it, and heard them say it of others. It is a widespread phenomenon, no matter what may be the exact numbers.

Electoral Calculus may not be infallible, but —by my use of it— those figures give the Cons only 21 seats in the Commons (Lab 538, LibDems 55, Reform 1, Green 1, Plaid Cymru 4, and the SNP a mere 12).

Others calculate a Con bloc of 24 MPs. Whatever.

Effectively the end of the Conservative Party as it now is, if accurate.

As I guessed some time ago, the Cons are really only supported now by “habit-voters”, those who have all their lives turned out to vote Con, no matter what, no matter even how they themselves benefit or not. They are almost all now aged in their 80s and 90s.

Interesting to see all age groups from 18 to (?) 70 starting to look for radical and maybe (soon) social-national alternatives.

By my use of Electoral Calculus [https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html], a similar result: Labour 488 MPs (majority 326), Con 82, LibDems 43, Greens 1, Reform UK 0, Plaid 3, SNP 14 (and Northern Irish 18).

Almost but not quite a Con wipeout.

I myself still think that <50 is a possibility for the Cons. I concede that the many experts and specialists are against me, but my reasons are as previously blogged:

  • the fact that few 2019 and earlier Con voters now think of the Con Party and Government as anything other than completely useless;
  • that there are many (or are there?) “secret” Reform UK intending or possible voters; and
  • that there are many voters who will vote tactically to sink the Cons, even if many of the same voters hate, despise or fear Starmer-Labour.

A point or so fewer for the Cons, a point extra for Labour, a point extra for the LibDems, and a point or so more for Reform UK, and the Con cadre of MPs would reduce to only 30.

This is no exact science.

I’m writing this at 3am in the morning and I have less than four hours before I need to get up and start my morning routine for work.

But, once again, the neighbours who live downstairs, below my flat, have decided to have another all-night party. And unlike me, they don’t have to wake up for work.

Because, unlike me, they don’t have to work.

They qualify for social housing; their rent is subsidised by the large and rising amount of council tax I am forced to pay each month —on top of ruinous income taxes, national insurance contributions and student loan repayments.

The majority of the tenants in my housing block are unemployed; I see few of them leaving the house for work in the morning.

My interactions with them are limited to hostile glaring mixed in with the occasional attempted mugging. On the rare occasion I have female company I have to escort my dates to and from the bus stop to stop them being sexually harassed.

What scraps of my salary the State allows me to keep are eaten up immediately by rent. I pay almost half my post-tax income to live on an ex-council estate in Zone 3, London, with the smell of weed continually hanging in the air.

Unless I achieve an income of more than £200,000 it will simply be impossible to secure a mortgage on a house the same size as the one my parents bought in 1989.

My friends work in high-powered finance and legal careers but, like me, struggle on with flatshares well into their late 20s, if not their early 30s.

They are spending the best decade of their life working until midnight seven days a week for the chance to attain the same middle-class lifestyle their parents achieved much earlier in life.

The reward for being wildly successful financially in 2024? To live in a semi-detached house that was built for unskilled professionals in inner London a century ago.

And that’s not all …

If I decide to have children, which you might think ought to be encouraged given the demographic crisis facing Western nations like Britain, I will have to contend with extortionate childcare costs, or deprive my household of a second income.

Renting a three-bedroom flat in a safe part of London will cost in excess of £3,000 a month; my children will have to grow up in far more cramped conditions than I did, most likely having to share a room and perhaps dodging stray bullets.

The only feasible route out of this incredibly depressing situation is to leave the city I grew up in and commute two hours both ways from a town I have no local connection to —where I have no friends or family living nearby.

Even with cheaper housing, I will still have to send my kids to local schools where they will be bombarded with relentless propaganda about how to ‘change their gender’, acknowledge their ‘whiteness’, and apologise for the British Empire.

It is certainly true that previous generations of young people faced more challenging circumstances. I am not (yet) being asked to walk across No Mans Land and into a sea of barbed wire and machine guns.

But it is one thing being asked to suffer for a cause like liberty in Europe, or to grimace through destitution because of seemingly uncontrollable events like the Wall Street Crash. It is quite another to be economically enslaved to the point of infertility to sustain a growing population of resentful dependents.

Barwell seems to imagine that, as the (white/Brit) workforce ages, it can simply be replaced by black, brown (etc) imported equivalents. Not so. A high proportion of the imports (and offspring thereof) are parasitic and/or useless, with a smaller proportion actively criminal or terroristic.

Barwell’s thesis (to thus dignify it) seems to be that, as —say— 1M Brits age, retire, or die, the thing to do is to import 10M unwanted non-European immigrants in the hope that 10% of them can replace the 1M Brits who have checked out of the labour market (or life). What about the notional 9M other imports? They may be (and most are) useless, or near-useless, but all need/want/demand housing, food, water, shelter, NHS services, money…

Not sure whether that is Krakow or the rebuilt (post-WW2) old central part of Warsaw. Maybe the latter. I saw both on several trips to Poland in 1988 and 1989, but I should probably not recognize much of the newer areas now, judging by photos I have seen. The changes, esp. in Warsaw, have been immense.

Robert Largan, the 2024 General Election, and the constituency of High Peak

Largan. A Conservative Friends of Israel puppet. A nasty little man, who used to be an accountant for Marks & Spencer. Also, a dishonest little bastard.

Largan has obviously realized that, as a “Conservative” MP who won his seat narrowly in 2019, with a majority of only 509 votes, he has little chance of beating the Labour candidate this time in the normal way, so has decided to cheat.

Largan is an election cheat. Those fake “Labour” and “Reform UK” posters he has published are an outright attempt to defraud the High Peak electorate.

Despite having been a barrister (in practice or overseas employed practice 1992-2008, and still nominally a barrister until wrongfully and unlawfully disbarred for political reasons in late 2016), I know little about the law pertaining to elections.

The above, however, does not seem to cover the case of a candidate deceptively using the style and colours of his opponents in order to trick voters directly.

Even if Largan is not actually in breach of electoral law (and I cannot say whether that is so or not), in view of his deliberate and dishonest copying of the colour and style of Labour and Reform UK posters, the voters of High Peak must be made aware of how very dishonest and desperate Largan is (desperate not to have to get a real job again, something he has only had for 5 out of his 38 years).

Send Largan back to counting beans for M&S.

Actually, when you think how likely (in fact, inevitable) it was that Largan’s deception would be discovered (having after all been publicized on Twitter/X by Largan himself!), it does call into question Largan’s commonsense or lack of the same. His judgment too. He is an idiot.

Imagine, though, how little confidence Largan must have in the “Conservative” brand to try to camouflage himself on different election posters as Labour, and Reform UK and Green, in other words anything but “Conservative”…and also even printing a fake “newspaper”.

Faux-proletarian scribbler Dan Hodges is one of the least credible of his type. “Poor” scarcely covers his nonsense.

Well, I agree with Hodges on that, at least in terms of the gap between Con and Lab, but then, after all, I did predict on the blog quite some months ago that, contrary to the usual scenario, there would not be a convergence in the polling prior to Election Day. The reason is clear— people have just given up on the “Conservatives”. Labour is disliked but, in the UK’s basically binary system, if people do not vote Con, Lab profit thereby.

Look at how many Con MPs are failing to contest GE 2024, and look at the poor quality of most of those intending to contest it. Robert Largan is but one, and egregious, example of that.

The voters have a choice: Labour, who will probably be both incompetent and repressive, and the “Conservatives”, who have already proven themselves incompetent and repressive. Both parties are as good as controlled by the…”Israel lobby”.

Really? I can think of a number of things of which one could accuse Sunak, but surely not that. Or have I misunderstood the headline?…

Penny Mordaunt got a very high 61.4% vote-share in 2019, and her vote -share has increased every election since she was first elected in 2010, but Portsmouth North has been a “bellwether” seat since 1966, so the chances are that she will lose this time, though she may just be able to buck the trend: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portsmouth_North_(UK_Parliament_constituency)#Elections_in_the_2020s.

In the past, there was clear blue water between Con and Lab, at least on some issues, but the Cons cannot now even compete on issues traditionally (if falsely) their own: immigration, defence, law and order, Treasury competence. Etc. They have failed miserably on all of those and more.

That is the core point, surely. I can think of no issue on which the Cons can credibly make a stand, not even on cultural issues such as the trans nonsense, free speech etc. They are, on those topics, so far as bad as Labour, overall.

I suppose that it might be embarrassing to invite the murderous Israeli regime there; akin to inviting one of the African cannibal dictators of the recent past, such as Bokassa, to a food and drink exhibition.

I suppose that Netanyahu is well-guarded, but so far the only Israeli (ex-) PM to be assassinated (Rabin) was hit by Jewish dissidents, not Arab Palestinians.

The label “far right” (like “right and “left“) is meaningless. Policy is key.

The “Tommy Robinson” crowd are sheep, though they cannot see that. What policies does “Tommy” offer? None, except to —somehow— stop the growth of Islamic or Islamist influence in the UK. Gesture politics, and controlled opposition. Meaningless.

There were genuine reasons to favour Con over Lab in, say, 1970, 1974, even 1979 and 1983, though I personally have voted only once, aged —just— 18, in October 1974, and it was not for a System party (my chosen candidate came 4th out of 4 with about 600 votes).

Both major System parties have changed out of all recognition since the 1970s, and are really just corporate facades, indeed to a large extent similar corporate facades, hiding the almost identical core ideologies within.

Oh, I believe that evil woman all right. She will stop the cross-Channel boats, or most of them. She will do it by setting up places in France where 90%+ of those applying for asylum will simply have their applications rubberstamped. They will then get ferries to the UK.

At present ~1M unwanted immigrants are coming to the UK every year, whether “legally” or not. That is the problem, not the rubber boat mob as such.

The other aspect of the problem we face is that there are large numbers of complete idiots who naively (or actively maliciously) prefer to believe that the UK can absorb millions of mostly uneducated, mostly parasitic, often hostile non-white immigrants without any effect on our way of life, culture, or public services. Some of the idiots even prefer to believe that the influx is something positive…

I feel very sorry for the Palestinian Arabs, suffering as they are under the yoke of the Israeli Jews, but I would not want many or even any to come to the UK.

For one thing, many of them, quite understandably, blame the UK and maybe its people for allowing the UK to do the bidding of the Jewish/Zionist/Israel lobby, sending military aid etc to Israel, and so on; there may be a degree of hostility.

Secondly, if large numbers, perhaps the more active of the Palestinian Arabs, come to the UK, the resistance to Israel in Israel/Palestine itself will be weakened.

I myself could attempt an answer but, as many will know, the small but (inevitably) well-funded “Campaign Against Antisemitism” [“CAA”] managed to have me put on trial late last year —November 2023— after some 7 years of malicious and lying complaints by them, including the very weird ex-MP, now “Lord”, Ian Austin, writing directly to the Director of Public Prosecutions about me).

The Hampshire Constabulary and “Clown” Prosecution Service eventually caved in to the whining demands of the Jewish/Zionist/Israel lobby.

Representing myself, I very nearly got off at half-time on the equivalent of “no case to answer”, but was convicted in the end of having published 5 blog posts containing material deemed to have been “grossly offensive” under Communications Act 2003, s.127, a piece of law so badly flawed that the Law Commission has recommended its repeal.

The case hinged upon 5 blog posts out of about 1,800 published since late 2016, and out of about 1,000 published in the 3 years prior to charge (3 years being the “backstop” time limitation).

The CPS and police wasted hundreds, perhaps thousands of hours of their supposedly precious time “trawling” (as the woman in charge of the CPS office in question put it) through thousands of pages of material.

The result was that, despite the “Clown” Prosecution Service and its outside Counsel having tried to make this pitiful little matter into a “State Trial” (in the historical sense), the sentence of the learned District Judge in question was that I undertake 15 “rehabilitation days” (mostly, in fact, quite short meetings) with the Probation Service (and spread over the nine months of March-December 2024), and pay notional costs totalling £734.

I missed a trick in that I perhaps could have asked for a reduction in costs based on the fact that the CPS asked for an adjournment of a week so that their Counsel could apply for a Criminal Behaviour Order against me, which he did. The very experienced District Judge (a former Deputy Chief Metropolitan Magistrate) however refused that Application and preferred my argument; indeed, he anticipated much of it.

I was tired, unsurprisingly, and failed to ask for the costs of the unnecessary extra (part-) day in court.

Never mind. All comes to he who waits…

So, reverting to that question about the Jewish lobby on the radio, I prefer not to make the fairly obvious answer as to why all those political candidates (not sure for what election; maybe the Manchester mayoral election; maybe not) turned out for the Jewish lobby, but not for the elderly, disabled and poor English people. I think that my blog readers will guess aright.

Amusing. When I was a barrister based in Exeter (though travelling all over England and even overseas on legal kommandirovki, I was briefed a few times by South West Water. Their legal department was, I think, very small. I met once or twice with the head of legal affairs and a few of his subordinates at their offices in a business park by Exeter, but I think, from memory, that there were really not that many staff working there, even including office staff such as administrators. That would have been sometime around 2005.

Well, all right, but what part of “a million non-white invaders are entering the UK every year under a supposedly Conservative government” has Matt Goodwin missed?

Is Goodwin saying that even more invaders may enter the UK under the next Labour Party government? Where Goodwin goes wrong is in assuming that the Rwanda “plan” is workable, whereas, even if, on its premises, it were to work perfectly, and so be the means of deporting all “illegal” migrant-invaders, it would not touch those “processed” and then allowed to stay, and they are the vast majority of the illegals processed at present.

Neither would the Rwanda plan touch the “legal” immigrants (and they are 20x the number of the “illegals”), meaning that the net result of the Rwanda “plan”, even if it were to work perfectly, would be that about 1% of all immigrants arriving at present might be deported.

The puzzle is, not so much that the Rwanda “plan” is being pushed by the present doomed government party, but that Matt Goodwin is also pushing it, and Farage, and Reform UK. Some kind of “controlled opposition” scam, yet again, as seen with both UKIP and Brexit Party, the idea being to forestall any real potential social-national upsurge.

Smug Jewish woman living in South-East England blames the victim of Israeli-Jewish state terrorism for the said Palestinian civilian victim having been made homeless.

According to the Jewish woman, Israel cannot be blamed. After all, all it has done is use advanced weaponry such as missiles to destroy the homes of about a million people, and kill tens of thousands, mostly women and children.

I have seen various claims as to who might have done this, as to who was behind it all, and as to the reason or reasons. No conclusion as yet.

The U.S, Embassy in Moscow was warning American expats about a possible terror attack for several days. From where did that come? From general “chatter” monitored or intercepted?

Tenuous. Many people, including famous political figures, move around the world all the time, “like billiard balls“, as a Russian peasant on a river steamer once remarked to Gorky about the “gentry” [see: Literary Portraits, by Gorky, 1935, trs. Ivy Litvinov].

I cannot see the Kiev regime being behind this, except as the most dangerous game move (provoking Putin into doing something so harsh that it might then bring NATO into the Ukraine war directly). Surely even the Kiev regime would not do something so crazy?

Trump, if re-elected, will cut off funding, arms and ammunition supplies, and intelligence aid to the Zelensky dictatorship; the war in Ukraine will then grind to a halt within weeks.

The MP who tweeted or retweeted that BBC report did not address the fact that the pro-Israel bloc in the UK and other states, the core of which is the Jewish Zionist population in each state, seems to be fairly solidly behind the Israeli military and air attack “operation” in Gaza.

In relation to no.4 above, it is unfortunate that the learned district judge at my free speech trial (in November 2023) seemed unaware of or (much more likely) not in agreement with, the point(s) made (which have been made many many times previously).

In fact, and in any case, “antisemitism”, as such, is not illegal in this country; neither is so-called “holocaust” “denial”. That much has been made clear in numerous court cases though, as far as I am aware, not yet at appeal level in the higher courts (Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of the UK).

Actually, the trial judge was fair in his actual conduct of the trial, overall, but Britain these days has come under a kind of low cloud of repression in respect of —shall we say?— “them“…

I feel that a few issues were slightly fudged in the delivered judgment of the learned District Judge at my trial. It is long since I was a barrister in court (2007) but I feel that there was at least one good appeal point in that judgment.

However, I am disinclined to appeal, and then have to go through, at the Crown Court, what would amount to a retrial, rehashing all the nonsense of the “CAA” and CPS already heard, particularly as the sentence eventually handed down by the sentencing judge was relatively light; and also in view of the fact that the sentencing District Judge refused the Prosecution application for a Criminal Behaviour Order to restrict (though not much, really, the Order and Application having been so poorly-drafted) my publication of the blog.

Incidentally, my trial was at the end of last November, so only a week short of 4 months ago. Tempus fugit. Even my sentencing hearing was 9 days ago, but I have already done one day out of the ordered 15 “probation” days (nominally a day, in terms of the sentence format, but actually about an hour in real time).

The Kiev-regime forces can still fire missiles at cities, but they do not have the soldiers, arms, and ammunition to defeat or even hold the Russian forces on the battlefield.

Most readers of the blog will be aware that I was sentenced yesterday for breach of the notorious Communications Act 2003, s.127, a law so defective that the Law Commission has recommended its repeal.

I shall blog about my trial and sentencing hearing etc either later today or tomorrow.

Today, the most important thing is to think about forward strategy.

We see, in the Britain of today, a level of repression on free speech and/or freedom of expression never seen previously, not even during times of war, at least since the 17th Century.

Countries which are not cohesive, and which are sometimes called “diverse”, always have to have tyrannical police and secret police, and repressive laws. The modern paradigm, I suppose, was the Soviet Union.

My trial last November, and yesterday’s sentencing hearing was only one small example of the repression which is still increasing. Israel-lobby puppet Michael Gove introduced his “extremism” proposals and was supported by such as “Lord Walney” (the former MP, John Woodcock, who had to step down as MP after sex-pest allegations etc), who has always been a vocal advocate for Israel and its lobby in the UK: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Woodcock,_Baron_Walney#Adviser_on_Political_Violence_and_Disruption.

In fact, Gove, a member of Conservative Friends of Israel, seems to be mainly targeting entirely non-violent British groups such as Patriotic Alternative, already attacked both by State agencies and private interests (as when Sam Melia and his wife, Laura Towler were “de-banked” for political reasons a few years ago). Incidentally, “Labour” supports the latest anti-free speech repression. At least, those with power in the Labour Party: Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves, Yvette Cooper etc; all Labour Friends of Israel members.

What I want to do here is look at “what now?“, in the context of a British society where free speech (especially speech critical of “certain groups”) is finished, at an end, extinct.

Nick Griffin was (also) on the right track when he tweeted (and I think that his views remain the same) that there was “no Parliamentary road” to power for us as social-nationalists, but that we should avoid getting involved in “terrorism” (hard to define, of course, but let that lie for now).

The Parliamentary road is no good mainly because the game is so rigged that the Chicago mobs of the 1920s would feel ashamed. Look at the latest Israel-lobby-procured “extremism” nonsense coming out of Gove and the rest. That means that entirely lawful bodies such as Patriotic Alternative (mentioned by name by Gove) would never be able to take part in elections (certainly not if they looked like having success), might well find it hard to hold bank accounts, or operate any “regulated” mass media etc.

Of course the “antifa” clowns (unwitting pawns of “others”) will think this all wonderful, at first. Later, of course, they will find themselves fed into the meat-grinder.

As for anything approaching the usual view of “terrorism”, that would have no chance even were it morally acceptable. The State holds all the cards— police, military power, secret and security services, arms and ammunition, the mass media (more or less), and pretty tight control over international travel; and so on.

Griffin is right when he suggests that the answer is to withdraw, as far as possible, from mainstream society. I think that that has to be the way forward. It is in concord with Clausewitz and his views (in another context) re. concentration of forces, sometimes referred to as a kind of Schwerpunkt, or focussed point or area.

Saturday quiz

Well, this week brings a convincing victory over political journalist John Rentoul; he only managed 1/10, but I trumped that with 6/10. I did not know the answers to questions 3, 4, 7, and 9.

Laura Towler and Sam Melia

I included material on the blog yesterday about Laura Towler and her husband Sam Melia. I am not personally acquainted with them, and am not, as such, a supporter of their organization, Patriotic Alternative, but obviously am, as they are, supportive of European race and culture, and want Europe to have a future worth living. I also support free speech and freedom of expression.

Yesterday, Sam Melia was sentenced to 2 years in prison, a result of his having been convicted of what amounts to political offences. He will therefore probably be in prison for a year (possibly/hopefully a few months less).

I also happened to see this crowdfunder for the couple, who have a young child, with another expected soon.

Sam Melia. Wrong race, wrong nationality, wrong “crime”…

No doubt Sam Melia’s solicitors and Counsel will be considering whether to appeal, at least on sentence. A tough choice, though, when there is the danger of an increase in sentence in the appellate forum.

Appalling, but I should have more (or some) respect for Toby Young and the “Free Speech Union” had he and they said a word in defence of those dissident voices criminalized because of their (perceived) political views. George Galloway received 39.7% of the vote at Rochdale. The combined vote of the next three candidates (Independent David Tully, Labour Party, and Conservative Party) totalled only 41%: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Rochdale_by-election#Results.

The combined vote of the Labour and Conservative candidates was a mere 19.7%.

When Dan Hodges talks about Sunak “going early“, he is not referring to resignation but to Sunak calling an early General Election 2024. I had thought September or October, but it now looks as if June or July are possible months.

I just looked on the Electoral Calculus website [https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/userpoll.html]. On present opinion polling, the Conservative Party might end up with as few as 43 MPs. Happy day, though equally I hate the idea of the Labour Party “elected dictatorship” that would inevitably result, and which might make Blair’s regime seem mild.

If those idiots attack Russia, there will be a direct response. That would presumably trigger Article 5 of the NATO Treaty, and from there it would be a very short step to a regional war, then a continental war, then an intercontinental war involving Russia and the USA. In other words, a Third World War. Terrible. Disastrous. Unnecessary.

That is enough for almost an entire year at present rates of use.

Seems speculative. If Iran does become a nuclear power, Israel will go ballistic, possibly literally.

Rochdale by-election

I blogged about the by-election a few days ago: https://ianrobertmillard.org/2024/02/25/diary-blog-25-february-2024-including-a-look-at-the-upcoming-rochdale-by-election/.

The latest from the bookmakers is that George Galloway (Workers Party) is odds-on to win, followed by (around 6/4) Azhar Ali, the former Labour candidate disowned by Starmer, Azhar Ali therefore being an independent candidate in reality, though “Labour” on the ballot paper. The next in line is the LibDem, trailing the frontrunners at about 65/1. Reform UK (Simon Danczuk) is at 100/1. The rest of the field of 11— 1,000/1.

This is now between Galloway and “Labour” Azhar Ali. Former Labour MP Danczuk only got 1.8% (as Independent) in 2017, after having been sacked. The LibDem may do better than expected, being a white man and alternative to Ali and also to Scotsman George Galloway, whose campaign has been all about Gaza, and whose voters are (90%+) Muslims. Still, if I had to bet, I would probably go with the perceived favourite, Galloway.

The by-election is between two candidates trying to capture the Pakistani Muslim vote. Where do the English voters go? They are still the majority in the constituency, numerically, yet have been frozen out.

Symptomatic of System politics in the UK?

I have no sympathy for Danczuk, and little for Reform UK, but will be interested to see how they go. Had Reform UK put up a better candidate, it might have gone close. As it is, I daresay that the white (English) vote will be split several ways.

What the Israelis are saying about why the Israeli response on 7 October 2023 was at first very slow, and then incompetent (killing Israeli civilians indiscriminately).

Pollard was granted Israeli citizenship while incarcerated. He relocated to Israel in 2020.

I suppose that the Israelis thought that they owed Pollard something. After all, when he desperately appealed to the Israeli Embassy in Washington —when the FBI was on his tail— the Israeli Embassy guards were ordered to shut the gates and not let him back in. He was then immediately arrested by the FBI. He did 30 years in Federal custody, altogether (inc. 2 years of pre-trial detention).

“[Canadian] Justice Minister Arif Virani has defended a new power in the online harms bill to impose house arrest on someone who is feared to commit a hate crime in the future – even if they have not yet done so already.

The person could be made to wear an electronic tag, if the attorney-general requests it, or ordered by a judge to remain at home, the bill says.

Bill C-63 is designed to curb the proliferation of hate online, but it also establishes a new hate-crime offence, which would carry a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

Mr. Virani said the hate-crime offence would only be applied if coupled with another crime and the life sentence would only apply in the most serious of cases – not, for example, for mischief to a garage door.

Mr. Virani said the current bill followed studies of the experiences of other countries, including Britain, France and Germany, which have produced similar legislation. Some have had to reverse course after challenges and criticism.

Since it was published on Monday, some lawyers and constitutional experts have raised fears that Bill C-63 could chill free speech.

The bill would allow people to file complaints to the Canadian Human Rights Commission over what they perceive as hate speech online – including, for example, off-colour jokes by comedians. People found guilty of posting hate speech could have to pay victims up to $20,000 in compensation.

But experts including internet law professor Michael Geist have said even a threat of a civil complaint – with a lower burden of proof than a court of law – and a fine could have a chilling effect on freedom of expression.“

Look at what has happened in the UK. Material (comments, cartoons) are supposed to fall into unlawfulness only if “grossly” offensive. In theory, remarks, cartoons merely “offensive” are not unlawful, but in practice one finds (as in my own case last November) that once the police, CPS and courts think that XYZ is “offensive”, then XYZ becomes, almost automatically, “grossly offensive“, and the maker is then convicted accordingly (as I was).

Free speech has then been further chilled, or killed…
