The principle of the NHS was/is good: free at point of use. However, its maladministration, particularly in the hospitals, has become so bad over many years that one could now almost call the NHS a hit-or-miss health service. That has been made even more evident by the “panicdemic” and the prioritization of the ridiculous mass “vaccination” programme.
Few would want the UK to go to a US-style health system, but the idea that the systems elsewhere, particularly in Western and Central Europe, are not worth even looking at, is just completely wrongheaded.
The UK was one of the countries which led the way in public health provision in the 20th Century, with the establishment of the NHS. Perhaps the UK can now devise a 21st Century public health system that works better for its patients and their families, rather than (often) seeming to be run mainly for the benefit of those who work in it.

Hard to know which is the most shocking, the way in which an elderly person was treated, or the incompetence which meant that the police not only went to the wrong address but also mistook a house for a flat, and then also mistook a white man of 80 years of age for a black man in his thirties!

Hard to believe the attitude…it reminded me of a news report I saw decades ago: a helicopter was used in a prison escape, I think from Gartree prison in Leicestershire (a top-security place then, where Professor Hugh Hambleton [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Hambleton] and other high-profile prisoners were held).
When the police recaptured one notorious criminal, they beat and kicked the **** out of him. Appearing in the local mags court, one charge against him was escaping from the prison, but the other was “criminal damage to a police boot” (with his head and face! True; this actually happened; at least, it was reported in at least one newspaper).
I am not by nature “anti-police”, they being a necessary evil in a modern society, but the police in the UK are now rather disturbing, often uninterested in real or “ordinary” crime, yet focussed on things like malicious complaints made by dishonest Jews about comments made about current affairs on social media.
Also, the police seem to be alternately far too lenient on things such as anti-social street behaviour, yet sometimes, as above, absurdly heavy-handed.

Regular readers of the blog will know that I was never very favourable to Corbyn. Poorly-educated, not hugely intelligent, and not a defender of Western (i.e. European, or European-origined) civilization. His worship of the blacks and browns was particularly absurd, as was his Meccano-level political canon and understanding (“No pasaran!“, “Cable Street” etc).
According to his ex-wives, he never reads a book, a trait he shares with the part-Jew, part-Levantine poseur presently occupying the office of Prime Minister.
Corbyn was never really or properly “anti-Semitic” either, despite the claims made by the Jewish or Zionist lobby. He always paid lip-service to the “holocaust” farrago, for example. Also, while he may have opposed Jewish/Zionist exploitation in Israel, he never came out and opposed it vocally in the UK, France, or elsewhere (eg USA). Weak.
Corbyn was let down by most of his MPs, not least “near-beer” post-Stalinist John McDonnell, someone who “thought he could be king” only to find that he was a political mugged pensioner.
Having said that, Corbyn was conspired against from the start by an Israeli and UK Jewish cabal; as soon as he became Labour Party leader. His only chance was to go all-out for social nationalism, but he was personally incapable, constitutionally, of doing that.

Just saw a series of tweets by some crazed Jew, to the effect that non-Jews playing Jewish roles in film is “antisemitic” and should be decried as inadmissible “Jew-face”, just as it is becoming the politically-correct standard now that non-blacks (i.e. Europeans or European-race people) should not play black roles, because that is inadmissible “blackface”, even when it has hundreds of years of cultural provenance, as with Othello, the Moor of Venice. (and does that mean that only North Africans should play Othello? He is not a black African, after all). What nonsense it all is!
What about Jews playing non-Jews (Europeans)? Apparently that is OK…; also OK (it seems) is when a black plays a European (i.e. white) role. Even Anne Boleyn was recently played by a black woman, American at that!

I saw for the first time in years this picture of me aged 10-11, sometime in 1967. Middle Harbour school, Mosman (Sydney, NSW). (the “5R” refers to year 5 and the name of the schoolmaster, Mr. Riddle).
54 years ago. I still recall the Christian names or surnames of a few of them, and a few details about them. Incidentally, I am the rather confident-looking little fellow in the second row up, third from the right, with striped tie, arms folded.
The black girl in the centre was an Aboriginal who spent part of the year at the school, and part with her family in the Northern Territory, thousands of miles away; some kind of Federal government integration programme.
I wonder how life turned out for them all…

When I had a Twitter account (a pack of Jews had me expelled in 2018), I frequently tweeted against Japanese whaling (and against that carried out by other countries engaged in commercial whaling, notably Norway and Iceland; the Soviet Union ceased its semi-secret whaling in 1973).
As the Guardian report indicates, part of the problem lay in the Japanese psychology, in resenting being told what to do or not do by the non-Japanese world. Japan needed an honourable way to stop whaling, an exit strategy enabling Japan to stop whaling, and to stop subsidizing whaling, without losing face. This is what has happened.
Japan continues to whale, but only within the waters of Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (under the Law of the Sea), and in reality is slowly winding down whaling (along with the subsidies for it). The whales caught now are not the most endangered (such as the Blue Whale). Not that that excuses the activity, but it seems that, finally, Japanese whaling is on the way out.

You really couldn’t make it up! Crazed “Covid” zealot so aggressively determined to exercise her —non-existent— power over a non-mask-wearing passenger, while she herself is not using her mask, shouting, screaming in people’s faces, and even spitting!
That video is an extreme example of the pathology now widespread in the USA, and even UK and elsewhere in Europe. This is what the facemask nonsense is really all about— forcing people to comply. It has little or nothing to do with public health. In Spain, they apparently even have to wear facemasks outside, by law!
My answer?
The nearly two years of “panicdemic” fear propaganda and general nonsense has become ingrained in many. They now not only comply with even completely arbitrary diktats (such as the ludicrous “Rule of 6”), and moreover at the snap of the fingers from complete idiots such as “Boris” Johnson, but get very very angry when they see others refusing to jump through the “mandated” hoops.
In an irreligious age, people seek out things in which to believe, and for causes to follow, as well as for (supposed) “virtues” to display or signal.
The 20th century showed that political causes such as old-style socialism had feet of clay, and religions such as Roman Catholicism and the simplistic “evangelical” alternatives, as well as sub-religions such as cults, became mostly discredited, so we are here now in the 21st century with many floundering people desperately seeking for a cause to which to adhere.
For some, in the UK of the 1980s and 1990s, it was anti-apartheid, but the new “rainbow nation” South Africa has largely failed (in every way) since then, and there are no white people in the SA government to blame now, so the virtue-signallers have abandoned the South Africans of all races to their fate and latched onto other causes: anti-Brexit was or is one such, as was and is “climate change”, as in the worship of the Swedish autistic, little Greta Nut; likewise, the Extinction Rebellion and Insulate Britain idea that destruction of the UK as an advanced industrial economy will somehow “save the planet”.
Now such people (often the very same people) have latched onto “Covid” as their cause. The roots of it lie in their personal and group psychology and/or pathology rather than anything objective.

I have made just criticism in the past few years of, inter alia, Aaron Bastani and Ash Sarkar, and their idea called “Fully Automated Luxury Communism” [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fully_Automated_Luxury_Communism], but (despite not having read the book), I apprehend thatone of its basic premises is that the benefits of modern technology and productive techniques have been arrogated by a tiny minority of finance-capitalists. If my understanding of the book is correct in that regard, then I certainly agree with that view; indeed, it can hardly be denied.
Books such as The Spirit Level [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spirit_Level_(book)] have shown how inequality in the “Western” world has grown since the 1950s and particularly in recent decades. Numerous studies have shown how the remuneration and wealth (capital) of corporate owners and the highest strata of executives has become grotesque.
In the 1950s, in the USA the typical disparity between the pay of highest-paid and lowest-paid in a company was about 15:1. Now it is hundreds to one and, in not a few cases, thousands to one. That is without even getting into share options, capital gains etc
The same is true of the UK. There are many large companies where the top executives are getting a million or more a year (many millions in some cases) in salary alone, while the bottom-level employees are on something like £15,000. A ratio of at least 70:1, and in many cases hundreds to one.
It is not a question, for me, of inequality alone (some inequality is inevitable and indeed good) but of inequality so great and so unfair that it amounts to inequity.
We see how some of the wealthiest capitalists on Earth (Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson, Elon Musk etc) vie with each other to build their own space rockets, not to do anything truly worthwhile with them but to take what amount to joy-rides into space, accompanied by other hugely-wealthy individuals. Meanwhile, their own employees live on pennies, in many cases unable to pay their rent, feed their families properly, or achieve even a modestly-comfortable standard of living.
The fruits of scientific and technological innovation must be shared more equitably.

I was going to keep the blog short today, and concentrated on purely Christmas topics (and one does after all have other things to do on Christmas Day), but the world has impinged on my retreat…
Free speech. Catalyst was the sentencing of Alison Chabloz for Holocaust denial which I thought did more harm than good. A lot of other things to do with censorship and forms of hate speech being criminalised. In the long run I don't see a benefit to it, more the opposite.
Naturally, Christmas, as we know it in the UK and/or “Anglosphere”, is largely what people today often call “a construct” or “social construct”. You see in magazines or online quite a lot of historical detail about that.
In the UK, perhaps especially England, we have a fairly closely-defined idea of what Christmas should be: the Christmas tree, the angel or star atop the tree, carols, Santa Claus in his red suit, sitting in a sleigh in the sky, itself pulled by flying reindeer.
As many will know, the Christmas tree tradition, in England, dates back only to 1834, when one was installed at Windsor Castle; the tradition dates back longer in Germany, to the late Middle Ages.
As for the fairy atop the tree, that may be connected with the late Roman cult of Mithras, though that seems to me to be contrived, in view of the fact that the Christmas tree tradition itself is of recent historical origin. I would not say, though, that I am really qualified to pronounce on that aspect.
As to red-suited Santa with his sled or sleigh, reindeer etc, that is a conflation of ancient traditions, 19thC traditions, and “traditions” which come from as recent a source as 1930s American ads for Coca-Cola: see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Claus.
In Russia, the 19thC saw “Grandfather Frost” emerge, a tradition at least half-heartedly kept up in 20thC Soviet times as an alternative to the usually disapproved-of and sometimes suppressed Russian Orthodox Christmas religious holiday (which takes place a couple of weeks after the Western one by reason of the fact that the Russian Orthodox church still uses the Julian Calendar).
I believe that some Christian occultists aver that the “Santa in a sleigh” picture has an underlying reality in that the Cosmic Christ travels spiritually around the world for the “12 days of Christmas”, assessing the overall spiritual condition of the world. Perhaps.
My own view is that it does not really matter that our 20thC/21stC idea of Christmas would seem slightly odd to Victorian England, and downright alien to the English of Tudor times. It is our mental picture, our idea of what is sacred, our idea of what is worthwhile. It encapsulates what has gone before, and is of social and personal value.
Whatever the origins of Christmas as we know it, and however “inauthentic” some may claim it to be, the fact remains that we regard it as sort-of-sacred, even if in a sense it is not, and that includes the “Father Christmas” or “Santa Claus” figure in his red robes, even if he does only date back, in that form, to 1930s Disney and Coca-Cola. We do not like it being changed for obviously socio-political reasons.
Ghastly
Saw a few minutes on TV of some ghastly Christmas thing in Westminster Abbey yesterday. Some weird fellow looking like a Scottish down and out strumming on a guitar and, er, singing, while queen-to-be Kate accompanied on a piano. Not quite sure what the whole thing was, because I only saw a minute or two of it.
The Mezzotint
Saw a BBC adaptation of the M.R. James story, The Mezzotint. My expectations were not, if truth be told, high, but in fact this was an excellent short film. The original story was written in 1904, but the adaptation was, seemingly, set in the 1920s (judging by the props, clothes, and some music heard).
Even the fact that, typically for today, they shoehorned a non-European into the story (an anglicized Indian, or Anglo-Indian), did not jar, the way it was done. Pretty good.
Political journalist John Rentoul needs to aim higher. This week he scored 6/10, but I beat him yet again, with 7/10. I nearly scored 8/10, but hit the post (one year out) on question 6; I also did not know (had no idea about) the answers to questions 4 and 9.

If the Soviet Union still existed, and if it still had any idea of invading [Western Europe and] the UK, now would most certainly be the time to do it.
The sturdy, resilient British of the past, who faced off the Spanish Armada, Napoleon, so many other foes, and (whatever one might think of the perceived necessity for that) the German Reich, not to mention the Soviet Union itself in the Cold War, are now just a rabble of snivelling, fearful, facemask-wearing serfs.
The elite divisions of the Soviet armed forces, if they still existed, would be able to roll over the present British rabble without any resistance whatever, and that includes the tiny parts of our Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force that still function.
It might even be a good thing, to be frank.

A classic example of the present pathology. I was in Waitrose the other day, and saw an old couple (old even by comparison with me —65—), the old lady wearing a perspex helmet and visor like a worker at a laboratory for infectious diseases. Not too scared to go shopping though, rather than ordering online! I also saw several idiots walking around outside, sporting their (probably germ-filled) rag masks.

One of the main characters, the main one really, is a young Jewish doctor, who is a Freudian psychiatrist, or “alienist” as people used to say (though not in the series).
Apart from the Jewish doctor-investigator, there were a few other unexpected sights: the woman in charge of police forensic science and records is Chinese! I have no idea whether there might have been some miniscule possibility that a Chinese woman might have worked for the Vienna police at that time. Unlikely, I suspect.
As to actual blacks, yes, there were a couple, inevitably, in a street crowd. Again, unlikely in the real Vienna of that time, but I suppose you never know. Of course, they are in the TV show for the usual propaganda reasons, Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan reasons, i.e. to normalize (for the young, mainly) their being in Europe at all.
The locations were good; I recognized a couple of them.
As for myself, I doubt whether I have driven when over, certainly seriously over, the limit more than a relatively few times: a few times in the Caribbean (I nearly drove off a cliff once), maybe once in the former Soviet Union (but that was off-road), once in Hungary by Lake Balaton (long story…), and a few times (over a period of 20 years; I only had a licence from age 42) in the UK; thinking back, though, I was not “drunk” as such, but probably would have failed a breath test. The two or three times in question were around 2007. These days I drink very little even when not driving, and would certainly not drink (even a couple of drinks) and drive.
I am not sure how vigilant the police are now in respect of the above. I have been breathalyzed once only, about 20 years ago, when driving from Hereford to the South Coast in the early hours of the morning. The police (in Wiltshire) were very polite, and it turned out that my reading was zero, so they let me go on my way.

I write a good deal about the facemask nonsense, because it is the most visible symbol of fealty and indeed subservience to the emergent biosecurity police state.
I have made the same comment a few times on the blog. The DDR (East Germany) was ahead of the politically-correct curve in some ways: feminism, legalized abortion, and (officially) “anti-racist”. There was also quite a strong Communist Jew cabal there as well.
Looking again at those videos, the symbolism is not only quasi-Masonic, but a synthesis of symbology from both the Soviet Union and the 1933-1945 German Reich (note the marching soldiers, and the kissing of the “Blutfahne” flag by (the equivalent of) a Komsomol girl.
As I have mentioned here before, I spent a couple of days in the DDR in 1988. Interesting. A facade of a state, somehow lacking reality. At times, it was like being in a 1960s episode of The Avengers.
Not that the DDR was all bad (and the Bundesrepublik had —and has— its own problems), but it was certainly not all good! I recall how, on exit from the DDR (I had entered from the East, from notionally-socialist Poland) the car was literally dismantled in part, the seats and other parts actually taken out for search and inspection. The border guards did reassemble everything, though! A process that took over an hour altogether, despite there being no other car or truck crossing then, at what was a little-used crossing-point. You have to be a little suspicious about a country so keen to prevent its citizens from escaping…
The border had a number of layers, including guarded stop-points, raked sand, barbed-wire, mined strips, watch-towers etc. Once through about a mile of no-man’s-land, you came to the border of the Bundesrepublik (West Germany). One uniformed guard in a little sentry-box, and a 1 minute stop and passport check.

At the same time, it is incredible to see what the human spirit (even when largely crushed, as in North Korea) can accomplish under collective will (whether voluntarily or otherwise). North Korea’s people may be half-starved, and more or less beaten into submission, yet they have developed rockets, and have huge and apparently efficient armed forces, at the same time as the domestic railways scarcely work, the roads are mostly potholed and ill-repaired, and many of the rank and file North Koreans hungry and poorly clothed.
North Korea prioritizes military spending, and making its capital as much of a showcase as it can, before anything else (except the privileges of the ruling circles). A socio-political choice by the few who rule.
There are examples elsewhere in the world. Stalin said, on learning of the atom bomb, “we must have it, even if we have to eat grass“. Well, Stalin and his clique never had to eat grass, but many of the Soviet people were on almost starvation rations for years, and later on very modest living standards, even as the Soviet Union industrialized (1930s), defeated the German Reich (1940s), built the atom bomb (1940s) and a hydrogen bomb (1950s), and launched into space (1950s and 1960s).
In other words, these things are questions of political will and prioritization, at least up to a point. Stalin told his intelligence agencies to discover how to build an atom bomb at a time when nothing was known of it beyond its actual existence. It had never been deployed, nor even tested. Armed only with that one fact, that it existed, the foreign intelligence directorates of the NKVD and GRU managed to get enough information to enable the Soviet Union to build a usable bomb.
Another case: Adolf Hitler found a Germany in the depths of poverty and despair (yes, a simplification, but largely true) and raised it to glory, even if that lasted only 12 years. His will alone, transmitted to others and thence to others yet, created the achievements of the German Reich in the 6 years of peace, and then in the 6 years of war, the latter including not only initial and stunning military victories, but technical achievements which, inter alia, led humanity to the Moon and outer space (the V2 rockets developed by von Braun and his team).

There is a “creative tension”, if you like, between the necessity to have political will to do something, and the equally-pressing necessity to have the economic resources to accomplish that objective. Some countries have the political direction (North Korea the obvious example, perhaps) but (in that case by reason of a ramshackle socialist economy) lack the resources to do what the political leadership would perhaps like to do; at least to the extent that its government would like.
There again, there are thriving economies in countries that have very little political direction: contemporary Germany, and indeed most of the Western and Central Europe of the present-day. The economic benefits of those economies go, one way or another, to satisfying consumer demand. The opposite of Goering’s famous remark “guns before butter“.
Once you get people to accept the facemask nonsense and the other contrived “rules” (hoops to jump through), once you get them to accept the most absurd and contradictory “laws” (eg facemasks on in the supermarket, but off next door in the pub), once you get people used to being injected regularly, then you will be able to get most of, and eventually all, the “sheeple” to accept having a subcutaneous microchip. Social conditioning.
The rationale will be something like “accept the microchip under your skin. It will only take a minute, and thereafter no need for papers, Covid passports etc; you will be free to do everything...” except that you will then be able to be tracked, controlled, found (if you try to hide) and, at the push of a button, if you are deemed to be “racist”, “anti-Semitic”, a dissident, whatever, the System will be able to deny you access to…anything, everything…

North Shropshire by-election
For what it is worth, the bookmakers now have the Conservative Party candidate just ahead of the LibDem. Seems to be an open contest between those two, and with —in my view— every chance that the LibDem might bring off the biggest surprise in the history of the constituency (which history, though with a break of a century, goes back to 1832).
It is a little strange that Labour supporters would vote Labour just to (?) make a point (what point? That “democracy” is really rather a sham in our system?), when they could dislodge the Conservatives (and make electoral history) by voting tactically for the LibDem, but I suppose that many recall the way in which Clegg and the LibDems propped-up the regime of the part-Jews David Cameron-Levita and George Osborne from 2010-2015, thus enabling all those cruel and callous “welfare” (social security) cuts and other measures (the ATOS scandal etc). Many will never trust the LibDems again.

The same sort of thing happened in the Vatican. After the very unexpected death of Pope John Paul I, the Polish Pope, John Paul II was elected. Although doctrinally conservative, he was in many respects a modernizer and, crucially, wanted to free Poland from control of the Soviet leadership.
It will also be recalled that President Bush senior took over in the USA after the 1988 election, and one of his first acts of importance was to make a speech in 1989 openly proclaiming the New World Order [NWO].
The 33-year cycle starting in in or about 1989 was characterized by the greater grip of the “Western” order or “NWO/ZOG”: the “fall of socialism” worldwide, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the de facto “capitalization” of China, the collapse of European-race rule in South Africa, and of course the waning power of the Arab/Muslim states, despite their continuing hydrocarbon assets and wealth.
The above also meant the domino effect applied to the states opposed to Israel. They have fallen, been suborned, or been neutered one by one.
Now we see the biosecurity police state, almost wordwide, coming into existence, using health as the pretext for extreme control of populations right down to the individual level: “virus” “passports” to travel, sometimes even internally and, almost certainly, and before too long, microchips implanted under the skin, in order to track the individual 24/7, anywhere in the world.
Having said all that, such plans are not always 100% successful. In the past few decades, a number of events parried the NWO/ZOG agenda: the partial recovery of Russia under Putin, the 1990s/2000s Arab/Muslim/Islamist “holy war” against “the West” (notably its attacks on New York City, the citadel of finance-capitalism); also the failure of the forces of NWO/ZOG to dislodge President Assad of Syria from power, and the continuing defiance of the Iranian state. Also, the internal failures of the finance-capitalist economic model: the dotcom bubble bursting, and the post-2008 banking crisis.
It may well be that events will happen also in the coming 33 years or so (exact dates are not so important) to prevent the complete victory of NWO/ZOG.
