I think that it would be socially acceptable to have official firing squads in public places for many of the guilty. Just to be clear. If Keir Starmer does cave then we know for certain his initial attempt to limit publication had nothing to do with national security and everything to do with hiding as much as he could from parliament and the public.
Since I last blogged, a day or so ago, about the Gorton and Denton by-election, it has become clear that Labour’s stock is sinking, both in the constituency and across the country.
As blogged before, the 30% of the voters of Gorton and Denton who are Muslim are mainly, probably, going to dump Labour because of the largely Jewish and Zionist nature of the Starmer-stein misgovernment, something which has been put into even sharper focus by the scandal-news of recent days: Epstein, Mandelson, Ghislaine “Maxwell” etc. All Jewish.
As for the ~68% of local voters who are mostly white English/British, the deadheaded antics of the fake Labour government over the past 18 months will have pretty much trashed the Labour “brand”. I really cannot see more than a core of old-style Labour tribalists staying loyal.
Reform were already the second-placed party in Gorton and Denton even at GE 2024, though on little more than a quarter of the Labour vote. About 14% as against over 50%.
The story now is that a very high proportion of former Labour voters will go Green. How high, though, is uncertain. Some former Labour voters (some of the white ones, basically) will go to Reform, others will not vote at all.
Elections and by-elections are all about the numbers, and the numbers here are speculative.
If Labour’s 2024 vote of over 50% reduces, as it well might, attacked as it is from at least two directions, to about 30% or even 20%, then even if many refuse to vote, there must be a big chunk going to both Green and Reform. My money is on Reform, on the basis that Reform is the only party of any size standing on its policy mix at the by-election. Anyone supporting those ideas etc will vote Reform, as will tactical voters from the no-chance Con Party direction.
The anti-Reform vote is split, but at GE 2024, the Greens were only just behind Reform (about 13% as against Reform’s 14%); Labour’s 50%+ put the total anti-Reform vote in 2024 at around 64%. However, that was then.
As of today, my feeling is that Reform may end up with about 35% of votes cast, and the Greens perhaps a similar figure. Labour, I cannot see getting more than about 20%. The news every day just gets worse for Starmer-stein and his Labour Friends of Israel cabal.
If I had to guess today, my guess would be that Labour has almost no chance of holding the seat, but between the Greens and Reform, I cannot say. Maybe Reform, despite almost all the non-whites probably defecting from Labour to the Greens.

Someone of rare energy and decisiveness. If he does not win, it will not be because he has failed to try. At present, he is the favourite in the polling, and also with the bookmakers.
I myself dislike Goodwin’s pro-Israel, pro-Jewish lobby views (whether genuine or, shall we say, self-interested); I disagree with his apparent wish to dismantle what is left of the social security/”welfare” system, and to introduce an Americanized agenda even more than has already been the case; I disagree with several of his proposed solutions to “broken Britain”. However, he at least recognizes that the UK is sliding to dystopia, and needs to stop that slide.

All too typical. While the picture overall is not unmixed, and while NHS care is sometimes good, it really is time that the British stopped regarding the NHS as some sort of world-beating service and quasi-religious object of devotion, and started to look at the NHS objectively, as a necessary first step to fixing the array of problems within it. The NHS situation is merely one symptom of a society which has been gradually but increasingly visibly declining since, arguably, around 1989 but, also arguably, from earlier dates.

Ironically, my later disbarment (2016) was pronounced (by a superannuated former circuit judge chairing a 5-member panel) in the very same building where I had sat as notional “Head of Chambers” (it was actually an offshore set-up dealing with Russia, former Soviet Union, Caribbean, Brazil etc, not ordinary English Bar work), and leaseholder.
If I were to live in London today, I should probably have my Rolex watches stolen. In fact, I no longer have them anyway (sold many years ago for reasons of financial pressure, i.e. I needed the money!).
Even were I to hit the Euromillions lottery, and so be able to live in a Nash terrace at Regent’s Park, I doubt that I should bother.

Really? The station is barely a half-hour walk away. Disappointed, I had to make do with discussing it over the phone with the officer instead. Such muggings were, he said, ‘rife’ in the capital at the moment.
He asked if I wanted to take it any further and, honestly, I didn’t. The pointlessness of reporting a crime so long after the event is infuriating – it’s a tick-box exercise, nothing more.
The chances of the police catching a gang with my vague description of their clothes and ethnicity must be almost nil.
Ultimately, pursuing a report would mean me enduring a bureaucratic hurdle – filling in more forms online, having more phone calls. And for what?
All of this could have been avoided if there were more police on our streets, which would serve as a deterrent to these thugs. It’s futile having a police force at all in London if they can’t adequately react to something like this.

Hotels much the same. I was due to speak back in 1978 at the Clarendon Court Hotel, Little Venice. Jews connected with the pathetic Searchlight mag, now defunct, contacted the hotel management (the same kind of malicious harassment now undertaken by the so-called “Campaign Against Antisemitism” cabal). As a result, the Clarendon cancelled, and I had to pay out for a coach to bus people who arrived there to my new venue, a large room with a bar over a pub somewhere near the river, not far from Dolphin Square.

People are always saying how wonderfully talented Fry is. I cannot see it, for all his fame, acting career etc. In Jeeves and Wooster, that wonderful adaptation of P.G. Wodehouse, Fry was admittedly very good as Jeeves, but Hugh Laurie was the star, really. In Gosford Park, Fry’s police inspector ruined, in my view, the atmosphere, by importing a kind of cheap comedy into the film. As for his film about Oscar Wilde, it was nowhere as good (or as historically accurate) as the 1960 film starring Peter Finch, The Trials of Oscar Wilde. It may be (speculating wildly, so be it) that the Iranians, often though not always noted for their subtlety, have been using their “pawns” (drones and slower missiles) as sacrificial pawns (as in chess), with the idea of exhausting the Israeli supply of ground-to-air defensive missiles. Then, when the Israelis run out of countermeasures such as Iron Dome and Arrow missiles, the Iranians will launch the real stuff…
That occurs to me as I recall the arguably most famous game of the Soviet chess grandmaster Mikhail Tal (a Jew, incidentally), who sacrificed almost every piece he had on the board, even his queen, in order to deliver the final brilliant and inescapable line of moves that led to checkmate (via a minor piece, at that). I think that that game was in 1968 or thereabouts.

Re. Labour’s recent supposed “stunning victory” in the recent Hamilton by-election (Scottish Parliament): when you look at the figures, Labour won but with only 31.6% of the vote. The SNP vote fell markedly (unsurprisingly) to 29.4%, and Reform UK, which had not previously put up a candidate in the constituency, came in a close third, with 26.1%; all three main candidates were within a band of 1,400 votes.
The Conservative Party got only 6%, a huge fall from its previous vote, and the six other candidates (including the LibDem) lost their deposits.
This was a pretty good performance by Reform. They may well succeed next time. Until now, Scotland has been a barren field for broadly British nationalist parties, so the result is an interesting straw in the wind.

Had I been in the responsible position in Iran, I should have prepared well in advance (as the Israelis did). Not only in the obvious ways. For example, the Iranians, via their Hezbollah proxies, and with better technical and financial resources, could have dug very deep tunnels from pro-Iran areas of Lebanon, much deeper than those uncovered in Gaza, and penetrated Northern Israel using those. Netanyahu claims that Iran has or had 20,000 missiles, not the 3,000 figure bandied about. That means that, even if the Israelis are destroying 95% of those incoming, there might yet be up to 1,000 able to reach their targets.
As previously blogged, for me the three main strategic targets in Israel must be the city of Tel Aviv (particularly targets of military or economic importance), the Ben-Gurion Airport 12 miles southeast of Tel Aviv, and the Dimona nuclear research/weapons complex in the Negev Desert in southern Israel.
There may be other worthy targets of strategic importance unknown to me (and/or completely secret) of course, but concentration of forces doctrine dictates choice of target; not everything can be hit by an attacking force anyway.
