That aside, the sentence seems extraordinarily harsh.
10.5 years as headline sentence means that he might spend over 5 years in prison, though he might also get released earlier than that on licence; but he must, realistically, be looking at at least 3-4 years actually inside, unless he can appeal successfully on sentence.
Starmer-stein only took a couple of months to be comprehensively exposed to the general public as useless, but he seems (and “the chosen” backing him in a Labour Friends of Israel government seem) to want to cling on to power for as long as possible.
Of course, apart from the major point— that Starmer, along with “Rachel from Accounts” Reeves, “ape in a silk suit” Lammy, and “refugees welcome” would-be dictator Yvette Cooper (and others, such as Angela Rayner, who wants to be Britain’s first “chavscum” Prime Minister) are a bunch of utter clowns, completely hopeless, there is also the looming cloud of upcoming prosecutions of former or sitting Labour MPs in relation to underage sex with boys, to which might be conflated the alleged “Ukrainian rent boys” possible scandal involving Starmer-stein himself (and few know the truth about all that— certainly I myself do not, but there seems to be a news blackout about it all).
It looks as if the continuing Reform surge in the opinion polls is causing both main System parties to examine whether they have total deadheads at the top (they do).
It may be that both Starmer-stein and Kemi Badenoch will be ousted.
The opinion polls continue to show the former “three main parties” –LibLabCon— at a combined total of around 40%-50% (10%-20% each), while Reform sits variously between 27% and 36%, with the joke Green Party now on a similar level to Lab and Con, and well ahead of the LibDem dustbin-alternative party.
The fact is that, whatever scandals may hit Reform, the polling might not much change, and for one simple reason: people are intending to vote Reform not because they love or much respect Farage and/or his party, but because they do not want LibLabCon, and in fact want to stamp on them. Also, because the UK is sliding to a very desperate situation, and people are now finally starting to wake up to that.

Incidentally, it looks to me as if Corbyn’s “Your Party” is going nowhere. It may still get a seat or two (Corbyn himself may be nailed on) but many of its potential voters will go elsewhere, the white ones to the Greens, amusingly enough, and the Muslims to some specifically Muslim party or to Galloway’s “Workers’ Party”, if it has a candidate in any particular constituency.

The [Israeli] Jews have done that over a period of 2 years (supported by their “fifth column” in the UK and USA and elsewhere), and have killed or badly wounded —over 69,000 actually killed so far— about a quarter of a million Gazan Arab people, mostly civilians, mostly women and children. Why? When the “postponed” elections in parts of England are held, both Lab and Con are going to be stamped into the ground, where they belong.
As I blogged yesterday, the “Labour” vote at Caerphilly was less than a quarter of what it had been at the previous election; the “Conservative” vote was about one-eighth of what it had previously been.
Apply that to English Westminster constituencies.
To believe, as a few msm commentators seem to believe (e.g. Dan Hodges) that one or both System parties can somehow suddenly become (even superficially) “credible” now, is clutching at straws. The same goes for the idea that Reform UK support has “plateaued“.
Well maybe, maybe not, but even if it has, that level is still between 25% and 36% (its best so far, only a week ago), and that is enough, even if Reform and the Lab/Con parties all get 25% each (and at present Lab and Con are both below 20%), to give Reform a plurality of Commons seats (around 215), though not a majority.
Indeed, were Reform to “plateau” at 30%, with Lab and Con on 20% each, Reform would get about 384 seats (a very good majority), Lab about 94, and the Cons around 40 (the Cons just below both the LibDems and the SNP).
When Corbyn was leader Labour won Caerphilly with 22,491 votes (54.5% vote share). Starmer has just lost the seat, which had been held by Labour for over a hundred years, with 3,713 votes (11% vote share). The answer, to that last tweet, is that Labour are still (perhaps) on 22% because 15%-20% of the voters are non-white, and most still vote Labour. Also, there are enough of two white British groups to make weight: 1. public sector admin types, plus low-level academics and teachers; 2. the sort of voters, mainly north of the line between the Bristol Channel and the Wash, who always vote Labour because their grandparents did. That second group is ebbing away fast, though.
Fact is, if only white British, and especially white English, people were to be polled, Labour would be on about 5%, certainly no more than 10%.
As for Con Party on 20%, that may well be an over-estimate. Either that, or some voters like the new Reform-lite stance of Kemi Badenoch and actually believe that nonsense.

Having seen a few short clips of Kemi Badenoch addressing the Con Party conference, the audience seemed to consist of no more than 100-150 people, as far as could be seen. The audience as a whole was not shown, no doubt because the numbers were embarrassingly small. In fact, it looked as if Ms. Badenoch’s audience was no larger than mine at the London Forum in 2017— that was about 150 (at max.) I think.

Exactly. Those 14% to 16% polling results now being seen represent the last hurrah of elderly people who have voted Conservative since the 1950s, in many cases. Even many of those are now going to vote Reform (as I myself have been told in recent months; anecdotal, yes, but convincing).

The lady tweeter who pretends to have a political quasi-party called “the Moderates” (the membership must be the empty bottles lined up in her kitchen or kitchens— I believe that she may own more than one property) tweets another wrongheaded “policy”.
Imagine a former Conservative (she is the ex-wife of the one-time Con Party MP for Poole, who “employed” her via his MP expenses; he was voted out in 2024) who favours making British pensioners poorer so that (mostly non-European or non-white) families with several children can extract more money from the State!

The fact is, that “digital ID” would do nothing to stop or “control” illegal migration-invasion (which is, in any case, only 5% or so of all migration into the UK).
Academic argument anyway. The Starmer-stein government of utter clowns may be able to get the proposed new law (and this would require new law) through the Commons, thanks to his GE 2024 majority of young, know-nothing, fake-Labour MPs, but to get the new law through the Lords may be a great deal more difficult.
Many older people do not even have a “smartphone”. I had a mobile telephone before most people; from 1992, I think, certainly in 1993, but now that I do not have to have one (as I did when a practising barrister), I choose not to have one, for several reasons.
Will older people (65+) not in possession of a smartphone be forced to buy one? Will they be exempted? We do not know.
Such telephones cost hundreds of pounds, too.
I can see this being yet another Starmer disaster for Labour. Good in that respect, then.
